DoubleU   February 26th, 2010 - 9:28 am

It would be cool except for the flying into power lines part.

Bill   February 26th, 2010 - 9:44 am

Do the handlers come with it. I want to see it flown by an expert!

itsabirditsaplane   February 26th, 2010 - 9:45 am

Glad to see they are being more reasonable with their price. Originally slated for over 100K. Still waiting for the free open air trials to begin where it is designed to go up to 9000 ft. at 60 M.P.H. and be able to fly for at least 30 minutes at full throttle. Can you imagine leaping tall buildings commuting to work? Good luck to this one of a kind company from New Zeland.

What goes up must come down.

Can go jump-off a cliff for a lot less moolah.

Someone give one to Sarah Palin. Please...   February 26th, 2010 - 9:54 am

Lemmie see…I got the instructions on how to land right here on my hand. Hmmm…

briany   February 26th, 2010 - 10:16 am

Harry   February 26th, 2010 - 11:02 am

REV Wright   February 26th, 2010 - 11:28 am

Yeah, sort of like driving. Driving is cool until you drive into power poles.

And walking. Walking is really cool until you walk off of a cliff.

And skiing. It is really cool into you ski into a tree.

And s-e-x is really cool, until you fall off of a 20 story building.

Johnny Rotten   February 26th, 2010 - 11:46 am

What if one of those engines cuts out? Yr done!

roger   February 26th, 2010 - 1:08 pm

I want one

Rod   February 26th, 2010 - 1:28 pm

So how long will it be before some terrorist flies one into some major skyscraper and causes it to collapse at free fall speed?

Gary Nolt   February 26th, 2010 - 2:47 pm

I remember seeing the rocket propelled jetpack on reruns of gilligans island and lost in space and thinking how neat it would be to have one.Just being able to glide along a foot off the ground would be great for people who have trouble walking. They need to figure out how to reduce the size of the unit and keep enough thrust to make it more practical for commuter use.

txmike   February 26th, 2010 - 7:07 pm

jetpack + ice = death
jetpack + strong winds = death
jetpack + low visibility = death
jetpack + single engine failure = death
jetpack + immovable object + death
jetpack = bad idea

Alex   February 27th, 2010 - 3:32 am

This is the closest we got to a jetpack, hmm?

Man, this century is disapointing.

Commieobamie   February 27th, 2010 - 12:23 pm

Jetpack + NavySeal = AWESOME!!!

BunkerBill   February 27th, 2010 - 2:27 pm

Jet packs have been around for decades. They all share the same fatal flaw, and it’s not safety, it’s limited range. They are great for entertaining crowds at events, but they have no real practical uses.

Bill   February 28th, 2010 - 8:28 am

What if a terrorist gets one and takes out a bridge or a skyscraper.

AJ   March 9th, 2010 - 9:21 pm

haha yeh. It gives the term “suicide bomber” a whole new meaning. Just wait for some islamic extremists to get some of these packed with explosives.

Owen Uridge   March 16th, 2010 - 2:14 pm

Where is my 8000 dollar credit for this. A golf cart qualifies, this should too.
