Witnesses Describe Explosion at Connecticut Power Plant

At least five people were killed and 12 injured on Sunday when a massive explosion rocked a large gas-fired power plant being built in Middletown, Connecticut, the town's mayor said.

So very sad for the victims in this accident. Must be a natural gas plant. A gas leak undetected (no odorant added, or the leak happens overnight)saturates the whole building or buildings until a source of ignition sets it off. I was near this kind of explosion at a gas plant in Oklahoma over a decade ago. That one was much more limited in scope and damage than this. Hate to see this.

very sad indeed. Working at a power plant is such a high risk job. I know power companies are keen when it comes to safety but you can’t really cover everything and things like this happens once in a while. Our prayers to the families of the victims.
