San Fransisies shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce!

Dave, Tn   March 10th, 2010 - 10:27 pm

Well as long as they ban salt and plastic bags everything should work out fine. Besides the little brats should party hardy while they can because they’ll probably end up living to see the day when they’ll be digging coal out of the ground with their hands to satisfy some Chinese soldier with a steal rod.

There’s nothing wrong here. It’s a charming pleasant event. It’s good to get children accustomed to being around adults in all situations. The guy whose evening was ruined by seeing a baby breastfed, an unremarkable event in 95% of the inhabited surfaces of the globe, should apply for membership in the non-mammalian species of his choice.

Go to the links posted above by NORRIS. You will see that they are reports of grossly out of control, abusive conduct that are in no way similar to the news article about the restaurant in San Francisco.

PUT THAT AWAY OR GO HOME & NURSE YOUR KID   March 11th, 2010 - 3:39 am

Women who insist on breastfeeding in public are nothing but cheap exhibitionist sluts.

Madame DeFarge   March 11th, 2010 - 3:52 am

Let’s hope that the SFPD are smart enough to camp outside the baby bar, follow them to the car and arrest Mommy if she gets behind the wheel…for a DUI and child endangerment. This is soooooo San Francisco, the city of no judgments, no brains and no morals. I have to go up there next week; I can barely stand the homeless and the stinking streets.

ninety   March 11th, 2010 - 4:33 am

Hey Madame, no one is driving home drunk from that restaurant. Most people there are from the neighborhood. Wherever they are from, that crew are quite uptight about drunk driving. As Confucius would say from time to time, lerax! The City is groovy. Go have a drink at The Saloon or Gino and Carlo’s and chill out. Give up kvetching for lent.

THE_PROFESSOR   March 11th, 2010 - 6:22 am

Raising another generation of alcoholic street people. S.F. is full of selfish losers, who care for nothing but their immediate gratification.

So enlightening to have these children seeing mom getting sloppy. I may in fact become Muslim… get rid of the infidels.

The Real Reason   March 11th, 2010 - 6:58 am

Since this is San Francisco, the bar is likely full of perverts waiting to go after the little kids when some drunk “mom” goes to the can.

Maine Coast   March 11th, 2010 - 8:53 am

@ Ninety

Who are you to say no parent is driving home drunk? Are you monitoring everyone yourself? Do you think ALL people that have their kids in public are acting appropriately? Wake yourself out of your haze, look around, catch a clue and wise up.

bitterweed   March 11th, 2010 - 11:51 am

Sixty years ago my Dad had custody of me..we would stop by the local tavern ‘once’ in a great while..I’d have a Nehi orange, he’d have a beer..Big deal. He never, ever had alcohol at home..NEVER.

The only problem I see is that allot of people don’t know when to say ‘when’ and there are some people in bars (or anyplace else) I wouldn’t want a child to be around..

arw   March 11th, 2010 - 11:59 am

Yeah, encourage mom to get drunk while she’s watching the children and before she drives home drunk to tuck them into bed. Idiots!!

ninety   March 11th, 2010 - 2:55 pm

Who are you to say no parent is driving home drunk?

Neither I nor the Lord Himself can prove a negative, but the reporter did a through article including interviewing those pro and con and nobody reported seeing this. To regard it as a crime to eat pub grub in a pub with your family is hysteria. If that’s Conservatism, I’m voting for Pee Wee Herman.

Maine Coast   March 11th, 2010 - 4:01 pm

@ Ninety:

You are a complete doofus. Just because the reporter didn’t see anything while he was doing his story, doesn’t mean no one would drive home drunk. You really only need less than one drink to be impaired. You do realize the reporter was in there probably once and the toddler bar is open probably 7 days a week. You also said this earlier today “Hey Madame, no one is driving home drunk from that restaurant.”

YOU were the one that said no one was driving home drunk. Everyone else seems to be on the right side of things, except for you because you’re a clueless dolt. People like you, with fecal matter for brains, are ruining this great country and you’re too numb and brainwashed to realize it. Pick up the phone immediately and call your doctor because you need a check-up from the neck-up.

Have a wonderful day in La La Land.

ninety   March 11th, 2010 - 7:59 pm

“less than one drink to be impaired.”

We don’t eat no fruitcake
Because it has rum
And one little taste
Makes a man like a bum.

Oh! can you imagine
A sadder disgrace
Than a man in the gutter
with crumbs on his face.

Wow   May 26th, 2010 - 3:17 am

Wow…I’m a little shocked with the uber negative responses here. I don’t promote bar hopping with your child, but, I also don’t see anything wrong with going to a bar, early in the evening (ie: before 7 p.m.) and having A drink. With my above scenario, I don’t see what the difference is if you were at a restaurant and having a drink at dinner. I realize that all people aren’t responsible with their drinking, but there are a lot of good parents out there who would like to meet up with friends, early in the evening, to have a drink or not to drink but to socialize. Again, I see no difference than this or a restaurant…or a person’s house where they happen to be serving alcohol. And, vulgar, inappropriate language is heard everywhere!

In regards to the negative breastfeeding comment…you have issues if you think breastfeeding is inappropriate. I agree, a woman should cover up, but I don’t see anything wrong with it in public if you’re trying to be discrete. Sometimes, you can’t always plan and predict where you’ll be when your baby gets hungry.

And, before I get attacked by everyone. I’m a mother of a 9 month old who is still breastfeeding (the hope is until 1 year) and does not drink alcohol, nor have I been in a bar with my baby.
