The (un)Fairness Doctrine would be overturned by the Supreme Court at this point anyhow. If corporations can use their money and resources for political purposes, there is no way they could now say that GE’s MSNBC, as a prime example of extreme bias, could not be used to propagte political ideology.

To control a society Obama needs to do 5 things: 1. control the media (information) 2. Take away your guns 3. Control the healthcare system 4. Control the food supply 5. Control the banks.

The federal government has no right to interfere with the free market. Whether I choose to listen or not listen to anyone or anything on broadcast media is an individual choice. It is purely a matter of supply and demand… just ask anyone who listened to Air American (RIP). Obviously, there was no demand for such garbage.
The so-called “fairness doctrine” is nothing more than government trying to control more of our lives- just ask Mark Lloyd how he feels about government (Chavez) and the privately run media in Venezuela. I want these commie/socialists out of government and out of my life.

The “Fairness Doctrine” would only be “fair” if it would apply to all media–print, internet, TV, etc.

The McCain Finegold bill was essentially left-wing freedom limiting legislation sponsored by a documented RINO and in Feingold, an out-and-out liberal. To consider anything McCain signs off on as conservative is plain wrong.

Darned right the left wants to limit free speech. The thing is, if they follow Rush with a lib talker, the ratings will plummet to unseen depths right after his show. Free speech is not free at all. This country is barely 300 years old. Yet somehow, we have been fighting other countries wars since 1812. If McCain Finegold did anything, it made campaign finance even worse, more convoluted, and didn’t fix any problems. I don’t care how much money some corporation spends on campaigns, the people running for office are either scum bags or not, and it’s usually not hard to tell. Hell, usually both the republican and democrat are both scum bags, but lets hope that starts to change.

The Libs already have the Fairness Doctrine, it’s called NPR, sort of like Welfare on radio. We pay for it.

Okay, so three hours of Rush, to be followed by three hours of Randi Rhoades? Or Mike Malloy? Who will that hurt? The owner of the station. Because instead of charging a premium rate for advertising with a Hannity or Savage. He can only charge crappy prices in those slots.

The difference between Fascism and Communism is simply that Communists believe in ‘international’ implementation while Fascism under the National Socialists were ‘nationalists’. I believe that the Democrats led by Obama and the current Democrat leadership are therefore Communists rather than Fascists. I must admit that the ONE is willing to incorporate Fascism into his Communist agenda. As long as Dem’s can control your life, your job, your health care, your taxes. Everyone not in the ruling class gets screwed. Soon we will have green energy, which costs only five to ten times as much as efficiently produced energy.
Remember that Fascist, Socialists and Communists are all from the left. All of the dreaded butchers in recent history were from the left.. Stalin, Benito, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, Fidel, Hugo, Che.
The first year of this administration is a great example of Government planning and control. So far, everything done by the administration has been a failure. Obama can only claim success if his plan was to destroy the country…

As usual, Fox News just invites a bought-and-paid-for conservative mouthpiece on the air to speculate on what the Democrats “might do,” sets up a straw man to knock down, allows no dissent or contrary opinion whatsoever, reports nothing whatsoever, and calls it “fair and balanced” news. Then a legion of pre-programmed conservative robots goes on the Internet to echo the story, claim that they “think for themselves” while repeating everything Fox News has speculated on, and slobber on endlessly about the evil Democrats and socialists.

Ellie again, and I think the media corporations and labor unions should have the monopoly on free speech. After all, they know best how to explain things because that’s all they do, and it’s for the social justice. They’ll use it to educate everybody into knowing what is best for them.

That’s what Obama wants to do! He can’t just wave a magic wand and make everybody understand that right away all by himself, so the networks and the papers are trying to get people to know how good health insurance and saving the planet will be for everybody.

Liberal Democrats will continue their push for the “fairness doctrine” now that Air America has gone bankrupt. They don’t realize that endorsements amd sponserships are driven by free market enterprise rather than socialism. Nobody will watch the left wingnut oratory. NBC is a prime example with low ratings. It is very simple: No sponsorship-no presentation on broadcast airways.

All Drudge does is link to other news reports for crying out loud. He doesn’t even write his own stuff. God forbid someone link to news reports from around the country that libs don’t like.

I am so tired of these control freaks. They hate freedom. They have to force their value system, or lack thereof down everyone’s throats.

I especially love how they can scream for years that the government needs to stay off their bodies so they can have abortions, but have no problem with the government having their complete medical record & interfering in every aspect of their health care, just as long as they can get an abortion. And they have absolutely no problem forcing other Americans that don’t believe in abortion to pay for theirs.

OK, so if these Bozos bring back the “fairness doctrine” are we gonna have fairness czars coming to our front doors, trying us down and making us listen to what they think we should listen to based on what they have surveiled we’ve listened to before???

We need to starting using, invariably, in discussing these things, terms that are more representative because their lemmings actually seem to believe their designed-to-deceive terminology actually means what the left wants it to sound like it means. Insted of the Fairness Doctrine, we should call it the Speech Suppression Doctrine or Scam.
