Whoopi: ‘Whenever Democrats Get In, Taxes Do Go Up’

“As you know, whenever Democrats get in, taxes do go up. And if they go up and they work the way that Bill Clinton’s tax plan worked, I’m okay with that.”

QUESTION FOR THOUGHT: CHRISTIAN OR MUSLIM?
======================
If the “Messiah of Islam” is a Christian…then he must be a “converted” Muslim since his school papers in Indonesia state that he is a citizen of Indonesia and by faith a Muslim.

If he is a Christian, how could a “Christian be proclaimed the “Messiah of Islam” by Minister Louis Farrakan…the “one” they have been waiting for…their Messiah?
======================
C O M M E N T:

Well Whoopi at least you know what you are in for…somewhat…just don’t want to admit how much it will destroy our country!

For the rest of the country…join with me and the millions and millions of the other “silent majority” in our country that don’t want their taxes going up…because they don’t make the money that Whoopi and the other “rich” people make…in voting for the only “honest” “all American” candidate for President…President Elect McCain.

President Elect McCain has made a promise to get America back to where she should be. He will rein in spending, cut out pork barrel projects and keep our country secure.

VOTER REVOLUTION HERE AND NOW!

GOD BLESS AMERICA THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE…MAY OUR GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS OUR GREAT NATION…AS WE LOOK TO HIM FOR GUIDANCE!

mark   October 30th, 2008 - 6:59 pm

Obama has been honest saying those people who earn more than $250,000 will have a tax increase to the level they paid under the Clinton administration, and rich folks were still rich then.

Dooley   October 30th, 2008 - 7:13 pm

What Whoopie doesn’t understand is that everyone gets hurt bad when taxes are raised especially during a “down” economy. Obama is content to let the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010. He also wants to increase taxes on “rich” Americans and indrease the capital gains tax. These three tax increases, if enacted, will choke off economic activity and lead to more unemployment, when small businesses and large companies have to pay lots more taxes instead of hiring more people. Think it over, Whoopie!!

demdicks   October 30th, 2008 - 7:13 pm

Perhaps the bottom 45% of earners who currently pay no federal tax should start, then they will will feel more “enfranchised” with the rest of society. Flat tax would be a good place to start, everyone pays the same rate which would be the strongest known encouragement for making oneself more marketable, thus more prosperity, which should never stop being the American Dream.

mikeweaver71   October 30th, 2008 - 7:13 pm

Um wait, it’s now $150,000. $250k was before Joe the Plumber called out Obama.

How hard is it to admit that the “rich folks” are the “rest of the folks” bosses? These are the people that employ our workforce, so let’s punish them?

The wealthy democrats have no problem paying taxes for the poor democrats. Meanwhile, the poor democrats republican employers close their businesses when the tax burden is too high, leaving the rich democrats and republicans to pay the poor democrats bills. Makes sense to me.

Why does the tax rate have to be higher for the more wealthy? The same percentage would imply more taxes being paid out by the wealthier anyway, so why the undue punishment?

I must be incredibly naive.

mark   October 30th, 2008 - 7:24 pm

people under 259,000 stay the same, no INCREASE
people under 200,000 will have a tax cut

BREAKING: DAM NING MICHELE OBAMA TAPES TO BE RELEASED ON FOX TONIGHT…
Quote
10/30/2008 5:53 PM
Afr ican Press International (API) claims to have a tape of Michelle Obama discussing issues that will have a “huge impact” on US National Security. API has agreed to release that tape to FOX NEWS Channel, which will air it.

According to API, ten days ago they received the first request to accept 2 million US dollars from Mr Ed Hale, President of Plains Radio, Texas – USA, in an effort to suppress the information from reaching the public before the coming US Presidential elections.

Six hours after the release of information by API on the planned broadcast by Fox News Network of the Michelle Obama tape, API was contacted by Obama’s Campaign Manager.

Obama’s campaign manager allegedly contacted API by telephone and email offering $3 million US dollars followed with a request to API to cancel the deal with Fox News Network.

API’s Chief editor is expected to travel to New York, together with the Canadian lawyer, where he will appear live in one of the shows that will air the Michelle Obama tape.

Those who are close to the democratic presidential candidate must be desperate to win the election no matter what, otherwise they would not have taken such bold step to contact API with an offer of a bribe in order to stop the airing of the tape.

MarkJ   October 30th, 2008 - 7:52 pm

Well, if increased taxes are “okay” with Whoopi, then she won’t mind a 100% “patriotic wealth surcharge” to make things “fair” for everybody.

WHOOPI: I WANT A PIECE OF YOUR ACTION NOW!

(However, I most certainly DO NOT want any “action” when it comes to your “piece”!)

mikeweaver71   October 30th, 2008 - 8:05 pm

Senator Biden: “What we’re saying is, that $87 billion tax break doesn’t need to go to people making an average of $1.4 million,” Biden said.

“It should go to middle-class people, people who make $150,000 a year.”

Mark, I hear you. no increase under $259,000, yet. I’m just hearing Obama/Biden go from less than $200,000 income to qualify for a tax break last week, to less than $150,000 this week. That is a lot of people.

Let’s not forget, if you make over $250,000, your taxes will go up under Obama. And just because that may not be you, and it may sound like a lot of money, it may take your boss or someone else’s boss over the edge financially. You may get a tax break, but lose your job in the process. These are scary times for the small business.

AbuBakerSmith   October 30th, 2008 - 8:09 pm

I have had the hots for whoopi ever since she played the counselor on StarTrek.. she is soooooo sexy

m-antony   October 30th, 2008 - 8:17 pm

Everyone should pay the exact rate. These f-tards that pay nothing , should be held accountable. This is the problem. We are a welfare state and obama is trying to make it more extensive. We will end up paying medical care to some h0m0,like mark, because he decided to be a freak of nature. And criminals who the ACLU want honest people feed them while their worthless butts get 3 squares a day. Or buying some hip-hop thug a new tat or gold tooth. Ugly woman/man (whoopi) is right , these are the people dims want to put your money to. Unless, you are one of them that does not want to work, or you are too good to do the type of work illegals are doing.

Lee Walton   October 30th, 2008 - 8:18 pm

What Whoopi doesn’t understand is that it wasn’t until 1999, near the end of his second term, that Clinton inacted HIS tax policies. He WAS NOT responsible for the economy experienced during much of his term because he was advised to not do anything. Clinton’s tax policies are what cause the stock market to collapse going into Bush’s first term! No historical context at all! Whoopi, shut up and… Well what DOES she do now anyway?

Socialism is Evil   October 30th, 2008 - 8:22 pm

Hey Mark,

How much do YOU make as an Obama apologist?

Are you greedily licking your chops because you are hoping to get more of someone else’s money? I started with nothing, gave everything I had to the church 15 years ago, and moved to a new state to begin anew with NOTHING but a car. Got a job and worked hard and now make a good income. Last I checked, your butt wasn’t slaving beside mine day after day, early morning hour to late night, month after month.

Go make use of the God given skills you have (if you have any). Don’t expect someone else to make it easy for you. Don’t rely on your God, Obama, to knock someone down for you to take their place.

Your kind makes the rest of society sick. You should be ashamed of your greed.

It’s UnAmerican.

Dudley Doright   October 30th, 2008 - 8:29 pm

Duh——nice job Whoopie. Must have taken her all of 18 months to figure this one out. Guess you just can’t trust anyone can you!

BTW, stop buying in to this lie it is over $250K. Where do you get that? A campaign lie? When has the American people been THIS gullible? Geez, you people are morons.

Harry Richard   October 30th, 2008 - 8:59 pm

First it was $250,000, then 200,000 then 150,000 and once he even said 42,000. This delusion being swallowed by so many people of the so called messiah is reminiscent of 1933. Only now there is no Churchill around to clean up the mess, just a bunch of Chamberlain’s.

JR   October 30th, 2008 - 9:06 pm

Obama has said $250,000 & $200,000. Biden said $100,000. The moral of the story is…if you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember what you said.

If you are in the lower, middle, or wealthy class, your taxes went down under George Bush. If you are worse off now than you were 8 years ago, it has nothing to do with tax policy.

After Obama or McCain (makes no difference) roll out more refundable tax credits, the lower and middle class will pay less tax, no tax, or get somebody else’s tax back.

Guess what? Most of the lower class will remain poor becasue they have no education or job skills. Handouts don’t change that basic fact.

The government can’t spend the masses out of poverty or motivate them to achieve.

Alex   October 30th, 2008 - 9:37 pm

Ms. Goldberg,

If you want to give more of your earnings to those corrupt politicians, please be my guest! Leave my income alone! Anyone who wants to give their money away to Washington, have a great time!

People should start asking themselves, Why are we paying all these taxes? Exactly, what are we getting in return? Just more demands for more, more and more! Enough!

I have never understood why American working people put up with the nonsense of this complicated tax system. A flat tax should be enacted to be fair and encourage hard work, investment and savings. Quit taxing savings interest! Heck, the interest “earned” is not even keeping up with inflation.

If you don’t encourage hard work, savings and investment, we don’t create meaningful jobs. Government workers, frankly, take from taxpayers who are held hostage by the threat of violence, force or imprisonment.

Just consider this…

A self-employed person living in California typically loses at least 50% of their earnings to taxes, before sales tax, property tax, etc.

Mr. Obama wants to enact a 40% death tax when someone passes on. Well, that means that a productive, hard-working, honest parent cannot pass down their business to their children. The business will have to be sold, typically at a discount, just to pay tax. Outrageous!

What this means is that out of every four dollars a person earns throughout the course of their lifetime, only about one dollar will benefit the working person’s family.

Taxing away 3 out of every 4 dollars earned is slavery and it is a moral outrage! No government is worth that price! Eventually, the populace will wake up when inflation is stealing away purchasing power from their hard-earned saved dollars, that they responsibily put away for their old age. At that time, the voluntary taxation system in this country will be exposed for what it is and the people will refuse to participate in it anymore. Why? They won’t have enough to feed themselves and their families!

Anyone who advocates taking away more money from people is a thief and should be thrown into prison. That includes most politicians.

Azul Del Fuego   October 30th, 2008 - 9:38 pm

Mark is wrong:
1) Bush gave an across-the-board tax cut that provided tax relief for anyone who pays taxes. It didn’t favor rich or poor – it favored anyone paying taxes. That included people under $250K.
2) Under Obama and a liberal congress/senate, the tax cuts will expire…effectively raising taxes on everyone currently paying them and will cause some people who pay no taxes now to pay taxes.

Isn’t that a tax increase on people making under $250K?

3) By definition, if Obama provides a tax “cut”, it can only be a cut if you pay taxes. If you provide tax “relief” to those not paying taxes, that’s welfare and socialistic. His goal is to drive the number of non-taxpaying voters up to a critical mass so that liberal politicians will stay in power for decades. Why would anyone vote for someone that will cause them to start paying a tax if you are not paying it now?
4) I’m a statistician. The polls show that for people who pay no taxes, they are overwhelmingly going to vote for Obama. The polls show that for taxpayers, most – but not overwhelmingly – support McCain.
It’s elementary – put more people dependent on the government via enhancements to government programs, reduce the number of taxpayers, and you’ve got a recipe for maintaining power for a long time.
LIberals, is this a good thing for our country? Have a dependant class?

Steve   October 30th, 2008 - 10:04 pm

What kind of people know less and care less about tax increases than celebrities? Members of The House and Senate. They have something in common with windbag celebs: no matter what the economy, they just get richer.

Now, were broke.

The country needs a time to recover.

ck   October 30th, 2008 - 10:13 pm

She is FULL OF IT. She’s a LIAR. She states and I quote “my taxes have stayed the same for 25 years”…wtf?????

Give me a break! Then she goes on to say that she’s okay with Bill Clinton era taxes, that’s how we pay for funding schools and healthcare. Well, guess what, the dollar is worth less in this economy, so technically you should be paying a whole lot more than the Clinton era.

If Whoopi is still paying the “same taxes for the last 25 years”, there is no doubt in my mind that she is milking the system. So much for paying her FAIR share.

And one more thing about Whoopi, she is very ignorant when it comes to the Constition.

Sure, Whoopi pays a lot in taxes. Then she gets it all back the following years through tax writeoffs!

McCain Plan Better   October 30th, 2008 - 11:28 pm

Whoopi is a loser. Palin and MCCain is going to reduced taxes to 2% across the board. If you are a veteran or are currently serving in the Military or Guard or Police, you pay no taxes and receive a bonus of 5% of your income for every year you have served, so if you put in 30 years and are now making $50,000/year, your total takehome pay will be $125,000. The same bonuses will be paid to Plumbers in recognition of all the help Joe the Plumber has given the campaign.

Homeowners will get a 1-time $30000 credit toward their mortgages and people who live in small towns will get tax credits based on their age if they are over 35, up to $70,000 a year.

People who make more than $500,000/yr will get tax credits of 15-75%, which they can transfer to a member of their family or sell like pollution credits. This will increase the economy by 500-700%all the Nobel Prize winning economists estimate, because people work harder when they will not be penalized by increased taxes and when they will get an extra bonus for working really, really hard. The will get a bonus equal to 50% of each new employee they hire, thus helping to end unemployment while keeping wages high. The more they pay the worker, the bigger the bonus.

the top ten percent of the people in America had 95% of the wealth at the begining of the Bush administration, in 8 years they transfered the 95% of the wealth into only the hands of the top 5%.
it was Bush’s tax policies and cronyism and favoritism to Big Pharma, and no bid contracts which achieved this.

Tom   October 31st, 2008 - 2:32 am

I’m not okay with my taxes going up. Government can’t responsibly manage the money they already confiscate from my paycheck, now they want more?

No. I am an adult… I work, pay my mortgage, car loan, and medical bills. I don’t want handouts and I don’t want money being redistributed from me to those who do want handouts.

How about a tax break for responsible adults who successfully manage their finances? Tax the idiots who can’t manage their incomes… since they will eventually lose everything, anyway, take their money, but leave those of us who are not a burden upon other tax payers alone.

Walter   October 31st, 2008 - 8:21 am

Obama’s threshold for tax increases has already changed; it went from $250,000 to $200,000 and, at last count, it was $150,000. Can you see where this is going? Whoopi can afford to pay more taxes on her substantial income; I can’t. But since…as she said…EVERYONE’S TAXES WILL GO UP (”when a Democrat gets elected, taxes go up”), then those who can LEAST afford it are shafted…unless we’re expected to live off government handouts…paid for with the money that they stole from us in the first place.

Wes   October 31st, 2008 - 10:30 am

Let’s see, before 1994 the Clinton plan wasn’t working too good. What happened? Oh yeah, the Republicans took over in Congress! That, my friends, is what made President Clinton look good.
Oh, who’s been in charge for the last several years? That’s right, the Democrats! The same ones in charge during the Reagan administration when we had record deficits as well.
Maybe it’s not the President after all as much as it is the Congress.
Maybe we’ll see what true 100% Democratic control will be like in a few months.
God Help Us ALL!

Ted & Shelly Kahl   October 31st, 2008 - 4:01 pm

Whoopi, Its good to hear from you. Our comment for your consideration: When Bill took office, he had no plans or interest in balancing the budget, and did nothing for two years. The 1994 Republican surge the “Contract with America”. After Bill could not get around it, he signed it, making possible the balanced budget we needed and Bill got so much credit for. Would you give republicans any credit for.

nur07   October 31st, 2008 - 4:44 pm

Whoopi should really educate herself before she decides to give political opinions on taxes or anything else for that matter. Clinton is not the one responsible for any of the good times we experienced during his terms. And indeed, we were already heading into darker times by time he took his corrupt self off, although some folks like to point the finger at Bush (it is so much more appealing to their hate-filled souls).
Obama will be a disaster. Anyone with any kind of common sense and decency knows it. I just hope we aren’t forced to endure it.
