These town hall protests are in fact spontaneous demonstrations of middle class outrage over the audacity of Democratic Party attempts to take control of everybody’s health care. That is simply a fact, and everybody knows it, despite attempts by the Democrats and their shills in the mainstream media to characterize it otherwise.
As politically disastrous as it is for Democrats that they have a tin ear for the impassioned interests of the majority of the electorate, they are now compounding their problems by trying to marginalize this majority of the electorate by calling them unpleasant names-such as Harry Reid’s “Evil Mongers”. From a political strategy perspective, this is breathtakingly stupid. If the Democrats chose to trash the majority of the electorate, they will soon find themselves in the minority. This belated realization is no doubt the reason they ran up the whit flag of surrender today. Perhaps somebody in the White House should break the news to Gibbsy.

She made a comment the other day about the people at the town hall meetings, the one in Montana I think. She laughed saying that silly redneck man has the nerve to question the President and all he can jibber on about is how he supports the constitution and believes in gun rights. She said I would hope someone of more education and appearance would represent my side not some silly redneck bozo jibbering nonsense. I told her he does represent America. She laughed and said oh yeah they support him with all of 4 people clapping for him. SASKATOON — The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this country’s health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.
Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country – who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting – recognize that changes must be made.
“We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize,” Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press.
“We know that there must be change,” she said. “We’re all running flat out, we’re all just trying to stay ahead of the immediate day-to-day demands.”
The pitch for change at the conference is to start with a presentation from Dr. Robert Ouellet, the current president of the CMA, who has said there’s a critical need to make Canada’s health-care system patient-centred. He will present details from his fact-finding trip to Europe in January, where he met with health groups in England, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands and France.
His thoughts on the issue are already clear. Ouellet has been saying since his return that “a health-care revolution has passed us by,” that it’s possible to make wait lists disappear while maintaining universal coverage and “that competition should be welcomed, not feared.”
In other words, Ouellet believes there could be a role for private health-care delivery within the public system.
He has also said the Canadian system could be restructured to focus on patients if hospitals and other health-care institutions received funding based on the patients they treat, instead of an annual, lump-sum budget. This “activity-based funding” would be an incentive to provide more efficient care, he has said.

It’s suppose to show confidence and project they know exactly what they are talking about. It can be used to intimidate also. I’ve been to a class on giving speeches and talking in front of people and they really teach you that. Of course Obama, Axelrod, and Rahm have really went overboard on this crew in the White House. WASHINGTON (CNN) — A key Senate negotiator said Sunday that President Obama should drop his push for a government-funded public health insurance option because the Senate will never pass it.
Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota said it was futile to continue to “chase that rabbit” due to the lack of 60 Senate votes needed to overcome a filibuster.
“The fact of the matter is there are not the votes in the United States Senate for a public option. There never have been,” Conrad said on “Fox News Sunday.”
His comment signaled a shift in the health care debate, with Obama and senior advisers softening their support for a public option by saying final form of the legislation is less important than the principle of affordable coverage available to all.
There is the matter of the astroturfing that went on at the meeting. There was one side that was bussed in from other states, paid for in the way of lunches, dinners, signs, t-shirts, etc. They were given time off or paid through their unions to come to the meetings. The supporters were given these benefits, while the protesters filled the parking lot with their cars, had to make their own signs and t-shirts, and made their own meals. If they were paid, they need to ask for more money, rides, or maybe they are just hording the money. The real Astroturfing that is going on in these meeting are by the supporters. Astroturf being a fake grassroots movement, these are the people that have large organizations backing them, helping them, and maybe even paying them to go to these meetings. Now don’t get me wrong there are equally strong feelings on both sides but when it comes to astroturfing, Obama supporters and unions take the cake.
