WH Slams Cheney’s Foreign Policy Expertise in Response to Hard-Hitting Fox News Interview

"I would add this: I'm not entirely sure Dick Cheney's predictions on foreign policy have borne a whole lot of fruit over the last eight years in a way that have been either positive, or to the best of my recollection, very correct."

Barack Obama: (Paraphrase) I don’t think the surge will work, in fact I believe it will have the complete opposite effect and cause more insurgency ie they will get all wee weed up.

This is the only position Obama has taken on foreign policy and he was dead wrong.

Cheney, the Dick, like most psychopaths, is screaming bloody murder in an effort to prevent investigation of his role in torture which he has admitted to. His regime, led primarily by him, the pathetic George Wonkie Bush following blindly, created the following: 4,255 dead American soldiers in Iraq. 2,750 Americans in 9/11. 1,836 Americans dead from Katrina.
He has ignored all that. He doesn’t give a dog’s crap about these dead Americans. He just wants to protect his “legacy” and his income from Halliburton.
He is EVIL PERSONIFIED.

Fox was in bed with the Bush administration. Fox cannot get an interview with anyone in the current administration so they put on Cheney. The Bush administration is old news. Move on Fox. Cheney lost the last election for the republicans. Why does Fox want to destroy its own party?

Can anyone tell me where this hatred of each other on either side of the political spectrum will end up? I’ve never felt so much hatred for liberals, as I’m sure they feel the same hatred for conservatives like me.
Will this end in another civil war? Should we split the country in two, and have US citizens move to the side they feel more comfortable in? Will violent confrontations be in our near future?
I don’t see either side convincing the other of what’s the correct path for America, so what’s the answere?

Hard hitting? Fox has never conducted a hard hitting interview on a Republican EVER!

Larse   August 31st, 2009 - 4:33 pm

The problem with Cheney is that he is a paranoid psychotic.

It could be argued that a paranoid psychotic is just the right guy to have in the middle of a terrorist attack, but the real problem is it causes him to have poor judgment in how he reacts to threats. Cheney has a poor record of judging events and predicting their outcome. Thus he cannot react appropriately to challenges. Even his fear of prosecution and reaction now is inappropriate as so many of his own kind have told him. His fear is so great that the rule of law is now irrelevant to him. Bush gave up on him long ago and grew very tired of his trying to defend Liddy at the expense of everything else.

After 911, Cheney tried to do a lot of questionable things. It really did not take long for his power to be taken away quietly inside the Bush Whitehous. In the final years, he was just a fool nobody listened too. But Cheney still caused a lot of messes and torture will haunt America for a very long time.

The only thing that is saving Cheney now is that a lot of the powerful Democrats are hiding their complicity in Cheney’s mess too. The Obama administration talks of protecting troops by avoiding releasing photos and avoiding torture prosecutions, but that is to save their own hides really. It wont work. Torture is like an acid that will slowly eat them away until nothing is left. In the end, the whole truth will come out, and nobody is going to like it.

Of course that would expose him as the kook he obviously is.

Ferd   August 31st, 2009 - 5:10 pm

Unbelievable. Gibbs has the audacity to question Dick Cheney’s foreign policy expertise despite the fact Cheney was involved in foreign affairs while Gibbs was in high school in Alabama.

And this quote, “I would add this: I’m not entirely sure Dick Cheney’s predictions on foreign policy have borne a whole lot of fruit over the last eight years in a way that have been either positive, or to the best of my recollection, very correct.”

I suppose eight years of direct, hands-on involvement in the sort of foreign policy matters that have kept this country free from any further terrorist attacks doesn’t count. God bless Dick Cheney. It’s because of people like him and the agents and analysts at the CIA that empty suits like Gibbs have the freedom to sound off.

Drano,

I understand your desire to try to downplay 9/11.
Still it did happen on Bush’s watch.

While it’s true that the hostages in Iran where released under Reagan, the reason was a bit different than what you stated. The reason was because the Republicans had been NEGOTIATING with Iran behind Carter’s back through the assistance of Israel. The deal involved the exchange of arms for hostages.

This was a lead-in or precursor to Iran-Contra. In fact, “kissing Islamic butts worked out quite well for the REPUBLICANS, at least in the short term.

The previous 8 years of Clinton kissing Islamic butt led up the Saudis attacking the US 1 year 8 months into Bush’s first term. No subsequent attacks occurred due to the lack of butt kissing on the part of the Republicans.

First…. Notice how you said “Saudis”….. So why in the hell are we in Afgahnistan and Iraq? Either your hero Bush is so freeking stupid that he does not know the difference (rhetorical I know), or he simply used the attack to further is adgenda of going to war with Iraq to begin with.

Second….. That is a rediculous comparison. That is like me having a robbery in my house, and because I put up a cross this is the reason that in the last 5 years I have not had any more robberies. Drano   August 31st, 2009 - 11:39 pm

Bush attacked Iraq because of numerous Al-Qaida terrorist training operations there. He also attacked Afghanistan. He SHOULD have attacked Saudi Arabia since the hijackers were their people and trained in Saudi Arabia. But we depend on their oil for our economy so it didn’t happen.

There have been no subsequent attacks because the Bush administration did not try to destroy the CIA and it’s intelligence gathering operations which led to having the info to stop further attempts to attack the US. Unlike Obama who is trying, as did Clinton, to destroy the CIA. The leftists have always hated the CIA. We will probably suffer again due to that.

Anthrax attacks were never solved as to the source. It may very well have been domestic sources.

This is why Clinton did not deal with Bin Laden when he had the chance and left him alive and able to plan the attack on 9/11:
“A Democratic member of the 9/11 commission says there was a larger issue: The Clinton administration treated bin Laden as a law enforcement problem.”
If he had dealt with him as a terrorist and a military threat he would be dead now. Thanks to Clinton he is still alive.

America…former VP Cheney is speaking the truth!

This is a man that loves America and it’s people!

This is a man who is not afraid to speak up and speak out against what Bilderberg Bush-Obama and the Democratzi are doing going after men/women in the CIA that have protected America since 9/11.

Former VP Cheney is protecting those men/women, their honor and their service to their country!

That is more than Bilderberg Bush-Obama and the Democratzi are doing!

They are seeking to demoralize this arm of our government by punishing them for doing a great job in helping to keep Americans safe!

That, America, is grounds for impeachment! When you are attempting to destroy the government agency created to protect Americans, by prosecuting them for doing their job!

Good job…CIA…we “real” Americans know your jobs are hard and sometimes are not always black and white…but you did your job to keep us safe and we thank you for doing it!

Don’t be intimidated, don’t be demeaned…”real” Americans are on your side…not with the enemy within!

Bush had ample warning of 9/11 with the August 6,2001 daily Presidential Brief: “Bin Laden determined to strike inside U.S..” The Clinton Administration had also warned the Bush Administration during the presidential transition of the growing threat. Where was Cheney’s foreign policy expertise throughout all of this?

In fact, Gary Bernsten, a CIA operative, says Bush and military leaders let bin Laden Escape.

This moves onto your point below:

“(Bush)He SHOULD have attacked Saudi Arabia since the hijackers were their people and trained in Saudi Arabia. But we depend on their oil for our economy so it didn’t happen.”

Yes, you’re right! The Bushes couldn’t upset the Saudis. Because of the oil, right? And what about the SPECIFIC Business Relationship that the Bushes, in particular, had with this prominent Saudi family: the Bin Ladens? In fact capturing any Saudi probably wouldn’t have benefited the Bushes in any of their special business dealings with the Saudis.

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   September 1st, 2009 - 1:00 am

Dear racerx…Do you not wonder why I call your new President…Bilderberg Bush-Obama?

Because they are one in the same. Both members of the Bilderberg Society handpicked for the Presidency to take America down from within.

Bush had his own damaging policies and programs…and you are right…he too…like Bilderberg Bush-Obama is in bed with Saudi Arabia!

But Bush is no Muslim…Bilderberg Bush-Obama has that distinction!

If you are interested in more info on the Bilderbergs, put The Obama Deception into your search engine and get informed!

We are not in control in our nation, and we must take it back! But to do that we must get informed. Knowledge is power and we must take back the power!

That is why you are seeing Democrats/Republicans/Independents/Liberatarians and all people of all parties banding together to fight this government and their trillion dollar legislation that is bankrupting our great Republic.

But then that is the plan of the Bilderbergs…to take us down from within financially…and their puppet…Bilderberg Bush-Obama is getting it done along with all of his Democratzi henchmen and the turncoat Republicans going along with them.

Wake up…and get involved!

Eileen,

You’re right. But, we’ve still got people on here
suggesting all would be great if Dick Cheney
were still in office. That’s not the answer, either.

The answer is definitely working together and suspending
differences and disagreements in favor of an alliance.
Regular citizens on the left and the right have much more in common
with each other than they do with practically any of the Democratic Republican elites in Washington.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
