I’m STUNNED absolutely STUNNED to see a CBS reporter actually ask a hard question to R.G. and then to have Helen Thomas join in! Now if these reporters will actually do the same thing to Obama is another matter. It would be interesting to see if they will jump off the script and ask Obama a question that was not on the teleprompter. Just like listening to Congress and Obama discuss cap and trade-that thing was passed in the dead of night and with 300 pages added to it at the last minute that no one anywhere could’ve gotten through and made any sense of. If that thing is so good and necessary, it should be able to withstand the scrutiny of being set out in the light of day. Why was the EPA forced to hide or curtail evidence to the contrary of AGW? The only thing missing at the townhall meetings are the “greek columns”. This is what the greek columns

If you know the questions, then you can prepare your answers. It is a slippery slope arguement that if there are “dissenting” questions then it proves the questions aren’t controlled. Quite the oppisite if you know the tough questions are coming you can prepare slick answers. If you do not know what questions then you have to THINK of the answers , use your OWN opinions and REVEAL your ideology. Strange that only Chavez, Castro and Obama have complained about Honduras. When America wakes up to Obama ideology I hope it isn’t to late to save us.

The Obama administration has determined that these reporters have significantly failed to reduce their carbon footprints. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs states that, “according to observers in the press parking area, both reporters were arriving in SUV’s and other types of gas guzzlers”. Gibbs continues “We expect all reporters that we honor with attendence at White House briefings to toe the line in reducing their carbon footprint. Unfortunately, a significant amount of carbon gas was expelled by both of these individuals today, and we just can’t put up with that.”

Asked by other reporters who would take their place at the head of the room, Gibbs replied “We will be replacing Chip and Helen with blowup dolls that have a tape recorder imbedded in each doll. The tape recorders will have pre-recorded questions that will be asked at the appropriate time by my pressing the Play button on a remote control.”

It’s sickening that the news media only gets skeptical because they’re jealous of some twit from the Huffington Post getting preferential treatment (personal invitation and planted question at ABC/Obama’s last news conference). Where were they when the unread stimulus package was rammed down the throats of the American People? Where were they when Obama took over the auto industry and started handing out ownership to his union supporters? Where were they when Obama took over banks and financial institutions and started hiring and firing employees in the private sector?

Reid and Thomas escorted to Black Room

Acorn showed up and demanded names of all known kin, co-workers, neighbors and friends. Acorn was seen leaving with the IRS, INS, and William Ayers. Chip and Helen assured President O and Mishelly that someone from RNC was holding their grandchildren hostage and demanded they ask those questions. President Hussein then told the victims,” Its OK, I will take care of you now, I have a new policy to deal with hostage takers, We now talk to them, let them know we want to be friends, u know, let them know that if they are muslim, we Muslim too! This tells you just how manipulative, controlling, pre-packaged, teleprompted, screened and filtered this administration is when the press — even Helen Thomas — are turning on their messiah about his complete control over anything and everything that requires him to give an on-the-spot answer. The man is incapable of ad-libbing on any important subject, and will hem and haw his way to in-obscurity if given half a chance. He has made sure that just such a chance will never occur by flexing his presidential muscles and threatening with immediate job termination any staff member who causes or brings about a situation wherein he is required to actually come up with his own answer in real time.

During the campaign, the press were asking McCain/Palin Rhodes Scholar questions, while obama was bombarded with kindergarten questions (and not even questions in the true sense) like, “This day must have been very exhausting for you. How are you holding up?” Yes, this is the stuff Americans needed to know about this complete unknown (thanks primarily to this very same press burying or ignoring everything remotely negative about the man). To say that the press was hypnotized by this Svengali-type figure would be a major understatement. But now that some of his influence is wearing off, we’re actually seeing the glassy-eyed look disappearing in some members of the press, and as they shake the cobwebs out of their head, they are left with this awful feeling in the pit of their stomach that is causing them to ask themselves WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!?!? DEAR GOD WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!? Very true and I’m in complete agreement with you.

Most of us who are leaving posts probably work jobs where our employment status, salaries, and bonuses are directly dependent upon job performance. Most states also have “At Will” employment laws which gives the rights of employers to let you go at anytime, with or without reason but it is rarely used because of lawsuits, discrimination, and other factors.

Maybe the people of America should create a performance based matrix that will either boot or cut salaries and bonuses of the morons in Washington who are supposed to represent us. And we shouldn’t have to wait until election day. Yes it is a costly process to oust, recall, or impeach a high-ranking government official, but it might be tax money worth spent.

Better yet, why not make all all those people in Congress start paying for their own health care, pay into Social Security, and make them work 20 years just to be eligibile for a retirement packge. I have to do that with my employer and I have to do all that with the Military. Why not members of Congress all the way up to the White House level? A good start would be eliminating career politicians and start setting term limits on them. I bet that would help solve some problems and rid us of the thieves and liars, and frauds. We need some fresh blood.

However, I am not qualified to be a politician because I’m not a liar, I won’t cheat you, I am not an alcoholic, drug addict, I would never cheat on or beat my significant other, I’m not a murderer (or baby killer like Barb), I support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, I’m not embarrassed to fly my American flag, etc… You get the idea…………

You see Chip, I am not a real doctor, I didnt have to take all those tests and pass all those classes because enough real doctors quit and retired, they wasted all your money for unnecessary procedures. This stuff is easy. I am prescribing oxycotin for you that will make you not ask them silly questions.” Chip and Helen left in their state issued gowns that read,” State Tested and State Passed!”

What the president wasn’t counting on is that “we” aren’t very pleased with him.

Obama cannot handle a press conference with spontaneous questions. You called Bush stupid, but you judge Obama by a different standard. Be honest with yourself. Can you imagine the outrange if Bush spoke exclusively from a teleprompter and would not accept unscreened questions? You would be right to question his competence and ability. But, for some reason Obama gets a pass.

Gibbs is a dolt. Man I miss Bush.

Is this only different from previous administrations because this one stated they wanted openness and transparency?

Questioners and questions have been pre-selected and canned in events like this since Kennedy was in office. It has become a norm for both sides to set things up like this in order to raise the public’s confidence and to appear as a strong leader.

My point isn’t that it’s okay for one side to do it because the other side does it too, my point is that this outrage should have been present a long time ago, long before Obama took office.

This just goes to show why things never change in this country. The right are only upset when the left does something unethical, and the left is only upset when the right is unethical. I’m in total agreement that we’re long overdue for a revolution of sorts. What I’m afraid of is when it happens people will blindly follow and believe that the revolution is simply becoming more republican or more democrat. We should all go back and read the constitution, then maybe we’ll be able to see all the BS both sides put us through. It’s time for a 3rd major party, a better option for all of us, it’s time for Libertarians or the Constitution Party to gain supporters.

Personally, I want a socialist country about as much as I want a theocracy. Let’s give power back to the people, remove it (power and money) from the federal government and strengthen our state and local governments. Personal decisions should be given back to the person in regards to everything from health care and guns to retirement and gay marriage. Freedom is the notion of controlling your own destiny, good or bad.

Man hearing all the republicans licking their wounds and hating on Obama and Dems is fun, almost as fun as watching them get their asses handed to them in 06 and 08. If you want to have a serious discussion about the fact that this process is very much less than transparent (and this is indeed not the first instance of this happening) then fine, but grow up about the birth certificate, about MSNBC, about everything else. He’s the President, and throwing tantrums about your conspiracies will rally no one to your cause.

I’m surprised so many of you still have such rock solid faith in either extreme side of the political spectrum. Pre-packaged questions have been a political and PR technique for years, liberal and conservative alike. It won’t go away in the future either, regardless of which side is in power.

When are you guys going to realize that by creating this illusion that everyone has to choose either the left or the right, the country has been divided into two brainwashed polar opposites content to blindly defend their own side, while blindly attacking the opposite side? I rarely hear any intelligent political debate anymore in which one party ACTUALLY LISTENS AND CONSIDERS the points made by the other party. It’s simply another form of control in which the real people in power present us with two puppets – one on the left, and one on the right. All the while, we’re too busy arguing with each other over which puppet is a liar or which puppet is stupid, that we don’t recognize that it’s THE SAME ASSHOLE holding up both puppets. By buying into this shit you’re just promoting the illusion.

If you actually want to make a difference (and not just hype stupid shit like this), I suggest by starting locally. Vote locally based on POLICY, not party.

Well, the one thing that I have not seen posted here is the simple truth.. Obama, according to the constitution, can not legally hold the office of president, because he was not born here in the US. Doesn’t anyone find it ironic that Chip and Helen are attack Gibbs for trying to control the media, meanwhile the Washington Post just got caught trying to host private events where lobbyists and heads of trade groups could attend for $25,000 a pop to speak off the record with Washington Post journalists and editors, and members of the Obama administration (though no members of the administration accepted the invitation).

Allowing lobbying groups to whisper into the ears of the media, that’s about as far away from honest journalism as it gets. We all know that the Obama administration has always been keen on keeping their message consistent, if they want to vet questions at a Town Hall meeting, and invite some of the participants (remembers some were invited by the Community College) it doesn’t mean that they want to cover something up, it means that they want to make sure a variety of perspectives and questions are raised, but at the same time making sure Obama’s message on health care stays consistent and coherent.

This is not the first time, and certainly not the last, that Obama is answering questions about health care. The Press Corp had the opportunity to grill him in a press conference last week, and he’s already had Health Care Town Hall meetings.

Being Press Secretary is a thankless and difficult job. Robert Gibbs so far has done an incredible job. He’s been knowledgeable and able in answering the many complex, prodding, subterfuge laden questions that are hurled at him daily. Gibbs is the first press secretary to change the power structure in the press room. The power’s at the podium now, not in the audience. Gibbs is the first press secretary to take the helm when the news industry is really hurting, and he’s taking advantage of having that edge over them.

ITS ABOUT TIME. Obama cannot take ant criticism, not transparent, look out America. Because of him, we are in trouble.Like a spoiled brat who wants CONTROL. You go Ms Thomas.

If Gibbs is speaking for the President, and if Gibbs is clearly equivocating, what conclusion might we come to? Controlling the press is the end of democracy, folks.
