"They're [Obama administration] irritated. Isn't it fascinating - they don't seem to be too angry at Lieberman. They're reserving their fervor for Howard Dean."

I never thought I would find myself agreeing with the current White House.

I agree, Howard Dean is irrelevant.

Fox4Me   December 16th, 2009 - 11:01 am

he, he, he… They’re turning on each other.

(Mika’s looking a little tranked out. Little too much partying, eh Mika?)

Harry   December 16th, 2009 - 11:25 am

How can a man who screams “yeeehheaaaaa!! be irrelevant? He was so loud that the whole world heard it. There’s got to be some relevancy there, now come on!

FastFacts   December 16th, 2009 - 12:01 pm

He tries to be relevant but his time is past. He was a corrupt individual and ran the Democrat party out of favor and was replaced. This was a guy that was ousted by his party though he ran it and even though he may try he will not have the power of the party as long as Obama is in charge.

What does Howard Dean know anyway? It’s not like he’s a doctor. Obama won the Nobel, for watching 4 seasons of “House”.

annie   December 16th, 2009 - 12:12 pm

Is this reporting or is this talking about how “howard dean is the problem” and “not helpful”? and “keeping our eye on the prize”?

Savannah, you fool!

MSNBC isn’t worth posting. It’s too stupid for BB’s audience.

bodhi   December 16th, 2009 - 12:23 pm

howard dean is a hero.
mr. obama is in way over his head.
he has sold out his supporters.
it is now obvious that to the prez, money is more important than human life.
how unfortunate. for everyone.

As a person who voted for President Obama if this is true this makes me sick, They want to sign something that is strip of everything and i mean the public option and have the nerve to Attack Howard Dean , So what now! that means the likes of roland burris and the American people are now irrelevant.

The only winners here are the insurance companies , We needed the public option that would be dirt cheap to free for the american people, And what that would have done is the insurance companies would have lost million of citizen to the public option, Which inturn would have FORCE the Insurance companies to bring cost So low in order to compete and NOT lose anymore people to the the public option.

This current WATERDOWN bill DON’T address JACK, and i bet the insurance companies like it that way and was popping champagne knowing very well their billions dollar profits will remain intact.

At least with the public option whatever profit the government makes it goes right back into the system to make it even better, Compare to when the insurance company when they make a profit it goes right into their pockets, while citizens lose their homes because of the cost, With a public option you will never have to put up your home for long term care if you had a accident… just ask country with universal care like Canada and France.

Countries with the Best Health Care

Dr. Dean was a practicing physician (maybe a little stretch) and he knows the legislation is absolute garbage!

Nick57   December 16th, 2009 - 1:46 pm

Hey Stop This…….Do you really believe people are rushing to France and Japan for their medical treatment? Do you know what the average net profit is for an insurance company? Less than 5%. Do you understand economics or even understand what a net profit is? I doubt it. You are part of the dumb masses who demonize corporations who make a profit. Think of it this way, if you have a flat tire, you don’t go out and buy a new car. There needs to be reforms, but the public option will only ensure everyone will have equally bad healthcare. And by the way, do you really believe the government really cares about the kind of healthcare you get? Oh, I forgot you’re part of the dumb masses.

MiPain   December 16th, 2009 - 1:51 pm

The Democratic party is quickly becoming the Donnor party

Other   December 16th, 2009 - 1:54 pm

Nick57 – Its worse. The net profit that insurance companies got from selling health insurance was actually 2% in 2008 and is shaping up to be 1.5% this year. I think you got the 5% from the last ten years net profit.
If it wasn’t mandated in some states, these companies would drop a lot of health insurance business.

You are not very bright are you , our healthcare problem is not about the actual CARE its ABOUT COST … get it COST .

So when they grade countries they are talking… Care, Cost and Access. thats how the ranking is done.

we in America if you have the money, you will get the best care money can buy, Thats not up for debate. But when you have people in our own country taking trips to Mexico and brazil to get surgery cheaper be it plastic or otherwise, many American doctors have set up private practice in places like mexico offering cheap treatment, so thats not a knock on our CARE.

And BTW.. even if japan and france have the best care, who is going to waste alot of money and time by flying all the way there for care.*sigh*

might be a blessing in disguise to kill this bill, because right now its a joke’ many people out of work will still have to pay alot for care.i have never seen president so ready to sign a piece of crap, could you imagine our foreign policy in what he would give up.

Another one thrown under the bus!! HAHA – thats funny…Bye, bye Dean!!

Nick 57   December 16th, 2009 - 2:46 pm

Hey Stop……Care and costs are intertwined. Again you show yourself to know little about the economics of it. If the government cuts the cost as you presume it will do, the quality of care drops, too. Hopefully one day you’re not the person the government tells that a particular procedure costs too much and you can’t have it. That day will come! The government has never proved it can run any social program efficiently. Why now does anyone think they could?

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   December 16th, 2009 - 3:23 pm

America…Howard Dean former “head” of the DNC…and now the new Democratzi party have deemed him irrelevant!

Now old time Democrats wishing it were not true…do you see who has taken over your party…the party of my parents and grandparents? Now do you still want to be affiliated with these Chicago thugs?

Turn on their own in a heartbeat when it suits them and they will turn on the American taxpayer, and have, just the same!

————————-

America…we need a third party for the following reasons:

1. Democrats are now Democratzi – ultra-liberal socialist/communist/islamic defenders seeking to destroy our economy within!

2. Republicans are now moderate “fence sitters” who vote with the Democratzi more often than not!

3. Independents are liberals who have shown their independence by taking a choice and voting just like the moderate “fence sitters”…whichever the way the wind blows.

——————————————————–
A new party must be created…and I suggest it be called:

T H E ** C O N S T I T U T I O N ** P A R T Y!
——————————————————–

All who identify with it…are supporters of the Constitution of the United States of America!

Who support the vision of our founding fathers for our great nation according to the doctrine outlined in the Constitution and our Bill of Rights!

Who support that the power of our government rests with the American taxpayer and not with the politicians!

Who support term limits on politicians to prevent what is going on today in our government!

Who support politicians who truly represent their constituents and not their own personal interests and/or party affiliation.

Who support sovereignty of our great Republic!

I am also open to any suggestions from those of you who agree and can think of yet another description of what the Constitution Party represents!

It is not liberal, it is not moderate, it is not conservative!

It is open to all who believe in our history, our independence, our freedoms/liberties and our sovereignty!

I do not believe this garbage that a third party will destroy our system.

In the past that would have been true, due to just a “few” willing to change their affiliation with any existing party.

But that was then…and this is now…

before Bilderberg Bush-Obama and the other ‘mentally disabled’ Democratzi and all those who vote with them!

This is a new time, America!

This is a time like no other, and it is time for a third party!

I am wishing this Christmas that the Democratzi party be wiped out of our history books from this point on!

The Democratzi are evil, devious liars and seeking to destroy America from within!

The socialist/communist/islamists have taken over the party of my parents and grandparents! They no longer represent the middle class…they seek to destroy the middle class and usher in a “New World Order” where America will be a third world nation and nothing more!

They need to go and be replaced with another…the Constitution Party that will be the new political home of millions and millions of fed up taxpayers.

We realize that the Republicans are doing what they can to fight the evil in Washington, but too many times they have also been enablers of the Democratzi in passing their damming legislation that has put a debt on our children and grandchildren that is inexcusable.

Just think back to those (3) turncoat Republicans…Snowe, Collins and Spector whose (3) votes took the stimulus over the top to get it passed! Now look at Leiberman and that slug from Louisiana who voted against the American taxpayer for their own personal promises by the Democratzi!

It is too little too late for the millions of “real” Americans who have given fair warning of what is too come!

We are fed up…it is time for a third party…a third party that will be successful in upholding our Constitution and hold the vision of our founding fathers at the top of our priorities.

We want the power back in our hands and out of the hands of those who seek to destroy us and make us a part of the “New World Order”!

No thank you…we choose freedom over tyranny and oppression!

Is there a patriot in America that is willing to start this new party and represent us and our beliefs?

If so, stand up and speak out and form this new party…we are ready to sign up if you are ready to lead our government according to our Constitution and our Bill of Rights!

————————————–

GOD BLESS AMERICA THE LAND OF THE FREE, THE HOME OF THE BRAVE AND THE HOME OF THE NEW CONSTITUTION PARTY – THE PARTY OF FREE PEOPLE!

LK   December 16th, 2009 - 3:37 pm

You can bet if Dean had supported the Communist Obama he’d be the smartest person in the room! The administration and their bought and paid for “mainstream media” would be everywhere lauding his intelligence!!!!

White House EMBRACES Howard Dean   December 16th, 2009 - 3:37 pm

Yeah, right, the White House EMBRACES Howard Dean! After all, it was Howard Dean’s idea of “localism” in 2004 that focused the Democrat party at the local level across the country and got so called “Conservative” Democrats elected. Yes, the White House is lying once again.

confused no longer   December 16th, 2009 - 3:43 pm

As one against this bill on many many levels I can appreciate the effort made by the admin and the Dem party. There should be no shame or failure tag placed on those who will not get their way regardless of what way it falls. It is however particularly disappointing that to date every piece of meaningful legislation or national direction shift has been either passed by a majority of one, Other shifts has been mandated by appointed people or agencies. The executive branch has turned the structure of our government into a flee market, to be haggled for and bargained with. To those democratic senators and 1 independent, I have one question: When you have run your race, and are about to shuffle off this mortal coil; will the short term euphoria of being a part of history, override the knowledge that close to 60% of America thought this a bad idea?

what are you talking about?????

we are spending 2 to 3 times more than other nations yet their citizens DON’T have to dig into their pockets again to pay some Insurance company for healthcare …. WE do! Those countries invest those citizens tax dollars into healthcare hence they could enjoy free access to healthcare , and when i use the term FREE i mean thier tax dollars already pays for it .

We are getting screwed twice we are paying taxes with no access to care, plus we have to dig into our pockets to pay the insurance companies that are quick to deny you care; because their objective is profit not the patients.

And nice try that the government can’t run anything, We intrust them in protecting the nation , we have the BEST ARMY in the WORLD and thats government run , On a local level governement RUN the POLICE and FIRE SERVICE need i go on.

but keep this silly debate up, if i didn’t know better i say you doing a very good job for the insurance companies, you make a decent lobbyist.

To “stop-this-bill- and-get-it-right”:

Though I agree that the bill should be stopped and refocused on true reform, I suggest that you do some research instead of regurgitating what you are told. You cite Japan and Canada as top medical care systems. You obviously have not experienced these systems first hand. I have.

I have family in Japan and Canada. I have lived in Japan for a substantial portion of my life and my wife is native Japanese. My family in Canada hates the Canadian system and they come to the US for medical care when they can. Many of my Canadian relatives have moved to the US mostly because of continual medical service shortages in Canada. My wife refuses to get care in Japan and finds the US’ system to be incredibly superior. My mother-in-law is being denied care in Japan that would permanently improve her standard of living because the Doctor is under government guided constraints (she has at least 15 yrs of life left based on family history). I am alive today because my wife and I refused to accept the mis-diagnosis of a top Japanese hospital (they did not have the equipment to diagnose me correctly) and rushed back to the US for emergency surgery (the day after I arrived.). This experience is not unique. In fact, it is the norm.

The problem with Canadian and Japanese medical professionals is not that they are incompetent – they are quite dedicated and have the will to deliver top service. Their problem is the government compromises their ability to deliver high quality service. And this is the future you desire.

At some point, you will come to realize that this health care bill was never about improving health care, but is designed to gain control over the medical care industry. It is about power and money.

John

Why do you people continue to lie , Why did you think i pick Canada out of that list , i have my grandmother there…. in all 18 relatives. And they are ticked off that we’ or the right wing media keep bashing their healthcare. I just was up there to celebrate the Carabana festival so i go up there about 6 times a year, So i know whats goes on nothing gets past me .

The people that come here for care are people with hang nails so to speak who are rich and don’t want to wait a couple a weeks for non- life threatening treatment , NO ONE and I repeat NO ONE is put on any waiting list with a life emergency situtation.

what i do know I have seen videos of people dying in our emergency room right here in America.
and also what i DO see is alot is us going over to Canada to get drugs for half the price and in some case less than half the price.

Canada do have a shortage but its with doctors, have nothing to do with their universal system, if they had our system it would still be the same … not enough doctors.

Like i keep saying… if Canadiens were not please with universal care, They would march and DEMAND it change to ours… or look for a politican that will make the change . It never would happen,

Their polticians NEVER play politics with their healthcare and they are happy with it, nothing in life is never perfect, But if you ever try to change their system back to what it was.. which it was like ours , They would publicly stone you .

John Galt   December 16th, 2009 - 11:46 pm

To stop the bill,
I can back up each item I wrote. It is you who mischaracterize. Even if I exclude Canada, I suppose you can vouch for each of the other countries. At least I limited my comments to countries on your list to which I had direct knowledge.
