Craig, yes, the after shock of the Olympics is pretty established. I believe the Olympic compound in ATL is an apartment complex now or something, and that’s after years of standing. There’s also security, infrastructure and notable displacement because of hosting a games. There’s a point to be made about the cost of hosting, one that I would consider. However, looking over the posts, you seem to be the first one making that point. Here’s one for you, considering the aftershock of the games, why do you think so many cities across the globe climb over themselves to get them? Not rhetorical, just fleshing out your thoughts.
How can Obama invoke all of his efforts into getting the Olympics for Chicago when there are soldiers in Afghanistan dieing? He sits on the generals reports while he ponders the Olympic games in HIS back yard. We can see where his priorities are, ME first then we can get to the war. At least he won’t have to deal with Michelle “arms-a-flapping” Obama for a few days. How much is this all costing the taxpayer? We don’t hear those numbers, two Air Force Ones? I’m thinking that just like John McCain during the 2008 Presidential Campaign, Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama should still be required to show ALL of AMERICA his legal documentation to prove his Eligibility to be our President… i.e. Certification of Live Birth (Original Birth Certificate), pre-school records, grade school records, immunization records, high school transcripts, college records, Harvard records, attorney records, all prior affiliations w/persons and groups, etc., etc., etc.
Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama has now invested over $1.4 million in teams of attorneys to keep his stuff under wraps, and after he was elected, Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama signed a Bill that exempted him from having to show any of these items to the AMERICAN PUBLIC.
Why, Tical? Common sense tells you something is d-r-e-a-d-f-u-l-l-y wrong.
I’m not an attorney, but if the legal documentation proves Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama’s INELIGIBILITY to be President of the United States, then that would be the first place we find grounds by which to IMPEACH him as a FRAUD… a USURPER. Wouldn’t it?

Uhhh talking about Bush taking his vacations? Talking about how long is a reasonable amount of time to consider General McChrystal’s assessment? Hrmmm let’s see what General McChrystal said when asked how long has it been since you talked to Obama, “…once in 70 days.”
Bush NEVER went that long with our troops in a war zone! At some points he was talking to his commanders on a daily basis. So please trying to defend Obama on this topic is like trying to clap with one hand!

I’m going to agree with you on one aspect of your post, though I disagree with the insinuation. I 100% agree that there is a vocal group of people that feel Obama has not provided enough background documentation. I also agree that he could easily quell some of that group by just a simple release. Letting that kind of agitation unnecessarily go on is contrary to his whole stated goal of transparency. On that aspect, we are on the same page….
You loose me when you use the debunked Barry Soetoro line, and the $1.4m spent. Though suspicious, I haven’t seen anything compelling me to believe he isn’t eligible. I think a couple days on Orly Taitz website did more to convince me it’s a witch hunt than anything else. I don’t think we would ever come to an agreement on that aspect, so I’m just going to leave it alone. I will say you are 100% right on when you say if the documentation proves his ineligibility, he should be out of office the next day, no if ands-or-buts. No problem there, not even with calling him a fraud and a usurper, sign me up.

I think you are missing my point. A lot of people here are saying that he’s dragging his feet, either due to malice or incompetence, at the expense of our troops. In order to think that he ‘isn’t moving fast enough’, I have to assume they have a timeframe that they this IS fast enough. I have yet to see anyone say how long they think he should have took, but many that say he’s taken too long… What timeframe crossed to ‘too long’?
I personally didn’t have a problem with Bush’s vacations. I have plenty of confidence that the president (who ever it is at the time) doesn’t have to be physically in DC to govern, and that they aren’t doing anything that puts them without the ability to address an emergency.
Gen. McChrystal has only talked to Obama 1x in 70 days. It was on 60 minutes, and I have no reason to think he is dead on with this. My response would be – AND? McChrystal talking directly to Obama would be an unusual hopskip over the chain of command. Now if McChrystal said he hadn’t talked to Gen. Petraeus, his commanding officer, then I would be worried. It seems like a lot of people here want it both ways. They claim Obama is incapable of leading the military and he is going to be ruinous of our national defense. But then the guy lets the military brass follow their military procedure of chain of command, and he’s bagged for it. I personally don’t have enough confidence in Obama’s military experience (which is zero) to have him micromanage a war. I know I rarely talk to my boss’s boss’s boss. If they took the time to talk to everyone at my level, it would send a couple mixed signals…notably a disregard for the role and confidence in the middle manager’s he’s supposed to rely on.
