‘Welcome to Obamaville’ Sign Marks Colorado Homeless Tent City

"You mention his name, you get some attention, I think that was the whole idea behind it."

December 12, 2009 at 12:33 pm - KRDO-TV
Dateline: Colorado Springs, CO
Gary T.   December 12th, 2009 - 12:41 pm

These people need & deserve help.
But the sign should read Bushville!
This economic collapse happened on President Bush’s watch!!
If this sign brings in assistance for these people – then it is worth it no matter who you name it after.
I still don’t understand why nobody has been charged or jailed for the economic disaster??
Please explain that to the millions of children going without!

MysteriousNibbLr   December 12th, 2009 - 12:45 pm

This is news today, but pretty soon we’re all gonna be moving to Obamaville. Remember, save your dollars, because you may need them to start a fire with.

Gary   December 12th, 2009 - 12:47 pm

Right on! Right on! Right on! Absolutely hilarious and so true. Hurts, don’t it.

notinmycountry   December 12th, 2009 - 12:50 pm

and how much have those complaining about the sign donated to these folks? more maobama sheeple baaa!

Darrel   December 12th, 2009 - 12:56 pm

The entire US economy is Obamaville. Hey, what’s another 2 trillion in debt just approved? O-Bow-Mao travels the world appologizing, bowing, and scraping, whilst redistributing the wealth and bankrupting the country.

KW   December 12th, 2009 - 1:00 pm

Gary T. It must be nice to live in your world where you haven’t a clue as to what caused the economy to collapse and when it started. Bush added gas to the fire by not acting as he should have (I am sure out of fear of being called a racist since that seems to work), but the catalyst started in the Clinton administration.

typicalwiteguy   December 12th, 2009 - 1:00 pm

“Wastin’ away again in cold Obamaville…”. Just a preview of things to come for a whole lot more Americans. Has any thought been given to how many families will go bankrupt and lose everything just because they were unable to pay their Ocommiecare premiums? Between that crime, Crap & Tax and the obscene federal spending binge; by this time next year, the dollar will have achieved parity with Zimbabwe and our economy will resemble the Weimar Republic. And the NOrwegians bestow a Nobel prize on the head criminal perpetrators; Barrack Hussein Obama and his trusty sidekick Algore.
“From tiny ACORNs mighty Marxists grow.”

XrayEye   December 12th, 2009 - 1:00 pm

There ya go again. Bush this Bush that. Just wish for once the freaking
lying moochin left would be accountable.

OBUMMER CONTINUES TO DEVASTATE AMERICANS   December 12th, 2009 - 1:00 pm

WAKE UP PEOPLE!

joes   December 12th, 2009 - 1:02 pm

The $789 billion hand out to unions, special interest groups and government employees not only didn’t do anything, it mortgaged the country’s future. I’m no Bush lover, but keep in mind the huge deficits started in 2008 a year after the Dems took over Congress. Congress controls the purse strings, not the President.

G   December 12th, 2009 - 1:02 pm

Obamaville now that is funny. That guy is a liberal elitist that only supports the ideology of wealth redistribution via by mandate. Maybe if these homeless people got off their asses and actually attempted to seek employment instead of mooching off of the people that propagate this type of behavior, there would not be a need for places like tent cities. Provide for the sake of providing does not help. These people are smarter than you think, and as long as people “help” (enslave) these people will not learn how to be self sufficient, and continue to take advantage of you and the system.

Doug   December 12th, 2009 - 1:02 pm

How’s that empty rhetoric hopey changey working out for the gullible sheeple?

Change is all we have left – the change in our pockets that us. Thats Obama for bankrupting the nation with your pork laden stiminulous, pork laden bailouts, making some pay for others cars, attempting cap and trade BS, and on and on. You certainly have redistributed the wealth – over to China in debt for our kids and grandkids to “try” and repay. Socialism is a disease and Obama is the carrier.

Pete Seeger   December 12th, 2009 - 1:03 pm

This land is your obamaland,
this land is my obamaland,
from bankrupt california,
to the wall street wasteland,
this land was stole from you and me.

Supercat   December 12th, 2009 - 1:05 pm

Yeah Fary, its always Bush’s fault…Hows that clown in chief handling America’s problems? By going overseas and saying the US is bad. You voted for BO, you are the ones that should be living in the tents…along with the other 56 millions morons.

Gary T   December 12th, 2009 - 1:05 pm

I’m sorry, I am wrong, the collapse was the concerted effort of Democrats since Carter, via the Community Reinvestment Act!

Bush WARNED CONgress of the coming collapse but idiots such as Bawney Fwanks said Bush was wrong!!!

Snakedog   December 12th, 2009 - 1:05 pm

No Dodd/Frank sub-primes to worry about, no ACORN to opine,”you don’t need no jobs, credit,or income” Comrade Obama, Pol Pot Pelosi, & Kim Jong Reid will tend to your every need. As Teddy Kennedy stokes the Furnace awaiting your descent into his deserved paradise. A little “Jonestown Kool-Aid anyone?

Danile   December 12th, 2009 - 1:06 pm

2010. Take back the nation in 2010. Take back the House and Senate in 2010. Save the nation. Balance of power in 2010. Take back the House and Senate in 2010. Volunteer, donate, vote, save the nation in 2010.

richard   December 12th, 2009 - 1:07 pm

Blaming it on BUSH has long gone for all those idiots that cling to that notion……we get what we vote for…..this wonderful CHANGE- its all on every one of us.

Libby Scooter   December 12th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

Gary T. is extremely funny in trying to Blame Bush after a year of Obambi’s failure after failure. Remember, “He who blames others, has their own personal failure to hide”! ~”From Hope…to Dope”!~

dan   December 12th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

If someone wanted to destroy the U.S. economy, what policy would they pursue that hasn’t already been adopted by the Obama administration?

john.m   December 12th, 2009 - 1:08 pm

no , this is all obama , when are you people going to man up and take credit for what obama has done to the economy .
are you still going to be blaming bush for obamas screw up’s in 4 years.

we spent a trillion tax payer dollars on stimulus unemployment is worse then when we started . where are the real jobs not the bogus jobs that they have been caught at .

you want jobs open the east and west coast of the united states up for offshore drilling for every job in the oilfield there are 10 support jobs.
cooks, electrians ,plumbers, welders ,truck drivers, boat crews. they have people who’s job it is ,is to make beds all day.

peter c   December 12th, 2009 - 1:11 pm

Just as the White House…the media…The GOVT….Cover up anything negative about their Messiah Obama….this sign was taken down by Obama worshippers who hide all negatives about their lying Messiah Obama.

They say The Earth is Hot…when it’s cold…they say they saved jobs when millions are still losing their jobs…They say Central Europe doesn’t need a missile Shield as Iran is building bombs and Russia is testing missiles.

They say they care about the Bl@cks as 35% are out of work..Obama says he is a Christian yet NEVER goes to Church

They say they will win in Afghanistan…yet the are sending half of the troops asked for.>>They really asked for 60,000 with 40,000 at least but the media and the White House never told us this….then they say the troops with be taken out in 2011…leaving our enemies a strategy of just having to wait until we leave..

This say Rev Wright was NOT an influence on the Obama’s ./..even though they were at that Church for 20 years…They said Bill Ayers was not a Friend….when they knew full well he is a very close friend…as were/are Many Marxists and communists throughout Obama’s lifetime….ACORN SEIU….Howard Zinn..and Van Jones…etc….are all radical Communists…yet the white House and their controlled Creepy friends in the MSM cover all this up.

It’s all about Spin…lies….constantly campaigning….and throwing those caught under a bus…until they find them a Secret Govt position somewhere for a while.

Obama is an Evil man…Pelosi Reid ..Kerry…Schumer….Durbin…the entire Democrat Congressional block is under an evil mindset….

So…tearing down a sign the homeless made saying the truth…is nothing to these people.

America make a huge mistake voting in Dems in Congress and this Godless messiah Obama in the White House.

Wake up…Stand Up….Go to Tea party Rallies…Mail all the Reps in office…Vote them ALL out in 2010 and this Lying Obama out in 2012….then , and only then..Truth can be heard.

TheNotoriousROB   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

Gary T., you are truly an idiot. Bush was president during the beginning of the crisis, but Obama has made is 3 times worse by putting a greater strain on the economy. If you don’t get it, please take a course in economics, or start reading the news. If anyone is to be jailed, it should be the bankers who took our money and invested it in these junk mortgages that people ultimately couldn’t and wouldn’t pay…

GeneralPatton   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

“”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"”"IF THE “OBAMAVILLE” inhabitants had WATCHED this BEFORE they VOTED for barry, perhaps they would NOT be residents… of Obamaville… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAaQNACwaLw < If You are worried AT ALL about your financial FUTURE you had better START HERE and work your way up to speed as to WHAT has happened to your COUNTRY! Good Luck

jane   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

Yeah, it’s Obamaville, and there’s more of them going to be springing up or growing larger all over the country. I think his name should be attached, because then all the Obama supporters can hear the call to action and lend a hand — oh wait — they are still waiting for their free monthly mortgage payment. Get that sign back up!

CaptainHersheyBar   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

Don’t say the Economic collapse happened on Bush’s watch- not that I agree with everything Bush, but it was after the Democrats toook control of Congress three years ago that the economy started slipping because of some of the bills they passed. And it’s only gotten worse since Obama “stimulus”.

59teeth   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

i don’t care what the sign reads or whose name it bears…the facts speak loud enough. we can’t pin this on only bush or only obama. it is a government problem and a harsh and ugly reality. where were all these tent cities ten years ago? non-existant! it is time for a much bigger change than obama had in mind!

Mark   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

Gary, I hate to break this to you, but before the 100th Democrat congress was elected in 2006, George Bush’s economy was moving along nicely with growth at over 4% and unemployment well within norms.
Once the Democrats took over all that changed.
Now that Obama has taken control and with the help of the 11th Democrat congress, it has been downhill ever since.
This is 100% on Obama and the Democrats.
Blaming Bush for all of Obama’s mistakes won’t fly anymore and frankly I think people like you need to think next time before they vote for something as ambiguous and hollow as “hope and change”.

Steve P   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

Hey, This is how socialism works. Get used to it!!!
Having fun yet?

dan   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

If you don’t like ‘politics as usual’, check out http://www.GOOOH.com. GOOOH stands for Get Out Of Our House and is a movement to replace all 435 members of the House of Representatives in November 2010. It is completely non-partisan approach to begin to fixing Washington. There is a plan developed to elect genuine citizen representatives – free from special interest money and the failed policies of both parties. It is a great way to turn frustration in effective action. GOOOH for it !!!!

David   December 12th, 2009 - 1:12 pm

That’s right Gary, Blame Bush.
Have some more KOOL-AID while you’re at it.
Who exactly do you want to see prosecuted?

Tom Truth   December 12th, 2009 - 1:14 pm

While Gary T. is correct that the economy “collapsed” during the Bush presidency, the FACT is that its catalyst was the mortgage industry meltdown, which was fueled by Democrat-created policies that started during the Carter years, and were further expanded during the Clinton years (i.e. Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, et. al.). President Bush warned congress repeatedly that the mortgage meltdown was going to happen, yet congress did nothing to prevent it. Hence, Bush’s hands were tired, and the economy is in a shambles.

So now we have the great “O” as our president, and everything he wants to do (bail-outs, TARP, Cap & Trade, Health Care, etc. etc. etc.) will cause our economy to fall even further into the proverbial toilet.

Bottom line is that even the most complacent and ignorant observer should be able to see that “O” is determined to destroy our nation. He’s a fascist/socialist, pure and simple. He’s without question the most incompetent, unqualified, and inexperienced person to ever hold the office of POTUS.

God help the U.S.A.

gerald   December 12th, 2009 - 1:15 pm

We are the land of the superfical. ————We worship Hollywood where nothing is real, everyone pretends to be someone else and we get all excited and elect the same.—————–Every incuminate regardless of party, should be limited to two terms……….the one serving now in office, and the other serving in JAIL.

typicalwhiteguy   December 12th, 2009 - 1:15 pm

I’d like to offer another “golden oldie”, Pete:

“Hopey daze are here again
The skies are full of CO2 again,
The Kenyan lies and flies to “Hope’n'changin’
Just to make Algore some loot.”

And perhaps a limerick:

“There was a young thug from Mombasa,
They named him Barrack Obama
He pimped for Algore,
The rich climate whore,
Then makes us all call him “Massa”.

“From tiny ACORNs mighty Marxists grow.”

Mark   December 12th, 2009 - 1:16 pm

Excuse me, that’s the 111th Democrat congress!

Sledge   December 12th, 2009 - 1:17 pm

Gary T can’t understand why nobody has been charged or jailed for the economic disaster? Let me help: Liberal policy and vote pandering caused this. Democrats are currently in power. There will be no investigations. If this could be linked to Republicans, do you think Pelosi would waste a second setting up show trials? Especially with a disastrous ‘10 election facing Democrats?

Nate   December 12th, 2009 - 1:17 pm

Dear Gary T.
Never mind all those Obama funds that went to saving some CA jobs that didn’t need saving after all.
Here’s to looking forward, eh?
The problem is reacting rather than pro-acting.

txasslm   December 12th, 2009 - 1:19 pm

gary t at 12:41 p.m., you think children are going without now? wait ’till they start having to pay off the debts incurred under obama and the democrats in congress for the last two terms. current total debt is $57 Trillion, the highest debt ratio in history. that’s $186,717 per man, woman and child – - or $746,868 per family of 4, $32,104 more debt per family than last year.

Last year total debt increased $3 Trillion, 8 times faster than GDP. and the democratic leadership is going to bump that debt up another $2 trillion in the next few days.

children today better enjoy however little they’ve got right now ’cause it’s changing fast.

CS   December 12th, 2009 - 1:19 pm

Gary T, get your head out of the sand. This collapse came about due to liberal morons like barney frank, and organizations like acorn who made it mandatory for banks to lend to people who had no business getting loans. You are truly dumb.

Sidney   December 12th, 2009 - 1:23 pm

I bet ACORN probably picked up these homeless and fed them before taking them to several differnt polling locations to vote for Obama more than once, Well here is the change and the hope that they wanted. Every wonder what happened to the Aferican American woman who was crying and stated “I will never have to work agian, Obabma will take care for me” ??

Sane American   December 12th, 2009 - 1:24 pm

Given that Congress, who approves all spending, has been under control of the democrats for going on three years now,the city name rightly should be Obamaville. Given the democrats passed the legislation that started the mortgage upheaval back in ‘77 maybe the name should be Democratville.

Trying to blame Bush for things done by his opponents gets awful tiring after awhile. Given Pelosi personally aware of the issues on Wall Street as far back as January 2003, people should be questioning their Congressional Representatives whythey sat on their hands and did nothing to stop a catastrophe they knew was in progress.

There is only one solution for ‘We the People’, and that is to vote all the folks in office out. maybe at that point they will understand they work for the people; and while we are at it, we should cancel their retirement to save money as they have not earned it over the past decade or so.

Ihateliberalretards   December 12th, 2009 - 1:24 pm

put in jail for what? because the economy does what it always will do…work in cycles?
shut up you fckng retarded liberal

Delta   December 12th, 2009 - 1:24 pm

This is a peek into what is to come under this administration. They have sabataged this economy and made it worse.
Like dead fish Rahmn said never let a crisis go, that you can take advantage of! From Hoovervilles to Obamavilles.
This puppet president does not have a clue. He has no experience. Should have been vetted more from Big Media.

Windfall   December 12th, 2009 - 1:24 pm

Properity will return when Obamahdinejad is gone.

isaac   December 12th, 2009 - 1:24 pm

The funny thing is all the blame attached to different figureheads of the same government. Maybe its not just obama or bush, why don’t we blame the government. In this present situation and most situations government is the problem. Nobody can run your life better than you. Get the government out of our lives.

Sidney   December 12th, 2009 - 1:26 pm

1/20/13 DAY OF FREEEDOM

Windfall   December 12th, 2009 - 1:27 pm

Prosperity will return when Obamahdinejad is gone.

As for the cause of the crisis, it’s called affirmative action lending and its principal promoters were Democrats Dodd, Franks, Clinton and Obamahdinejad.

The Republicans are guilty of complacency in the face of a dire economic threat but the threat itself came from the redistributionist Democrats.

peter   December 12th, 2009 - 1:27 pm

It happened under Bush’s watch, yes.
But the democrats were the ones who promoted the reckless mortgage lending.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

example:

Maxine Waters (D) in 2003:

Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and in particular at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Mr. Frank Raines. Everything in the 1992 act has worked just fine. In fact, the GSEs have exceeded their housing goals

Bob W.   December 12th, 2009 - 1:29 pm

So Gary T. Obama’s spending us out of depression… How’s that working for your great grand children? You can
only blame Bush for so long before you run out of excuses. Anything Obama and the democrats have done for this
country in the last year is on a very short list, if the list exists at all. I often wondered what it would
be like to live in a third world country. Guess we’ll find out soon.

Bisdak   December 12th, 2009 - 1:29 pm

Sure Gary T. It’s always Bush’s fault. Never the Great One’s. Good Lord, pass the Cool-Aid.

RIGHT NOT WRONG (LEFT)   December 12th, 2009 - 1:30 pm

when things started to go bad, Bush and his Administration started to work to address
the economy problems. Obama and the Liberal and Democratic Congress made every go further to Hell!
You get what you voted for and pay for!

Lady liberty   December 12th, 2009 - 1:30 pm

Every time Obama’s cash register rings…another tent goes up in Obamaville!

Joel S.   December 12th, 2009 - 1:31 pm

Gary T. you are a damn fool. When are you lame liberals going to let your false prophet Obama own his position? If he’s not out blaming everyone else like the coward he is then he has his liberal zombies blaming everyone else but him. What’s wrong? He can’t take the heat of being president? What a bunch of babies you libs are turning out to be.

Michael   December 12th, 2009 - 1:31 pm

I agree with Gary here. The name Obamaville is clearly a reference to the Hoovervilles of the Great Depression. Just as the Great Depression began under Hoover, not Roosevelt, the Great Recession began under Bush, not Obama, so this shantytown should be called a Bushville, not an Obamaville.

Chris   December 12th, 2009 - 1:32 pm

I’m pretty sure that people who actually have the slightest clue as to how politics work in reality understand that both Bush and Obama are puppets…mascots even. The people responsible for our economic mess are the people who vote on legislation.

Lynn   December 12th, 2009 - 1:33 pm

Gary T. said: These people need & deserve help.

I have sympathy for the homeless folks, but that looks like a pretty expensive sign. I wonder how, and who, paid for it.

Always Independent   December 12th, 2009 - 1:35 pm

Yeah Blame it on Bush as usual. Just remember, it was the congress controlled by the democrats that wouldn’t allow fannie mae to to be reined in and acorn pushing banks to make loans they couldn’t qualify for.

rightside   December 12th, 2009 - 1:35 pm

If you have probems with Obamaville all you libera/progressives then let’s change it to Hope and Changeville. It is now month 11 of the Hope and Change administration. More than enough time for the liberals to begin to own the mess. Particularly in as much as congress has been controled by these jerks since midway in Bush’s last term. So three years into the mess the Dems still want to blame others. Part of the play book.

Roderick   December 12th, 2009 - 1:37 pm

Who are these offended people getting “shocked and appalled”? Do they have so little knowledge of history as not to know about Hoovervilles?

Hey, Gary T., let us not forget that the “economic collapse’ began when the Dem’s took control of the House and Senate and they’re reign of destruction still continues!

Lynn   December 12th, 2009 - 1:39 pm

I wanted to add to my Gary T. said.
Were the homeless there a year ago? The answer is that Obama has had a chance to help the economy but he refused to do it. Just more spending money we don’t have. You will change your tune in about 6 months from now. What positive thing has Obama done for the economy? Spend more? Millions of children going without? Who are these children? Are you counting yourself? This is Obama’s fault and it is now his problem to fix, which he will not because it isn’t in his or his followers interest, if he helps he will lose the chance to have more control over us. Bush has been gone for almost a year, the democrats have been in power in congress for over 2 years.

Lady liberty   December 12th, 2009 - 1:39 pm

Pete Seeger December 12th, 2009 – 1:03 pm

second verse same as the first…:)

Boiler   December 12th, 2009 - 1:43 pm

Gary T do you live under a rock? Anyone with the slightest knowledge of the US government knows that Congress spends the money, not the President. The President sets policy and signs the spending bills. You want to find someone to blame then look to the feckless Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and the moronic Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. The Democrat control of Congress is what accelerated the meltdown. Indeed Bush disappointed many conservatives with his loose spending and expansion of government programs such as the prescription drug plan. Heck even Obama complained about the Bush deficit. But Bush was a serious lightweight when it came to spending when compared to the oafish Obama. His ability to drive a deficit to new heights never imagined is legendary. He has a increased the deficit 4 fold in less than a year to trillions of dollars. He and Pelosi and Reid have spent more than all previous administrations/legislatures combined. It is historic how Obama and his cronies are going to destroy the core of this country. Just hope that November 2010 gets here quickly because there is going to be a serious reckoning coming. Obama is going to fall faster than Tiger Woods.

Miguel   December 12th, 2009 - 1:43 pm

I’m thrilled that someone finally has the guts to put this sign up for all to see. Out here in CA Obama’s henchmen have hijacked and killed the once 4th greatest economy on earth. This camp is the leading edge of what the Obama people have in store for ‘We The People” for whom they and their academic elitists, corrupt public unions and their ACORN friends have nothing but contempt!

“This man is a HERO”, says this Californian who used to be a ‘true believer’ in all this Democrat elitist BS. These people have destroyed millions of jobs, therefore destroyed, millions of families in CA. It’s all coming your way! . . . unless you DO SOMETHING about these parasitic weasels stealing your freedom so they can steal your money, just for themselves and their friends.

Dave K   December 12th, 2009 - 1:43 pm

Hey Gary T.
Yes, the recession started on Bush’s watch just like the 2000 recession started on Clinton’s watch. The difference is Bush saved it and the fallout of 9/11 with tax cuts. Here, Obama has allowed it to fester and grow with out of control spending. you can’t spend your way out of it. Would you spend your way out of bankruptcy?

aynrandwrong   December 12th, 2009 - 1:44 pm

Obamaville, est 2008 by GWBush and the “fiscal conservatives” in congress.

Eeriemoon   December 12th, 2009 - 1:48 pm

This was obviously was not a government worker that came up with this sign because it worked, bringing attention and probably some much needed help.

Mike   December 12th, 2009 - 1:48 pm

I’m just appalled those racists would dare say such things about our Savior Obama!

Cathy M   December 12th, 2009 - 1:48 pm

You stupid democrats blaming Bush for everything…grow up you morons. When will Obama man up to what he’s doing to our country? How many years are you going to blame Bush? Remember Dodd, Reid, Peolisi and all of those clowns were making decisions, not just Bush. Idiots!

SK1   December 12th, 2009 - 1:49 pm

I bet liberal Democrats blame bush if they are constipated…. GET OVER IT>>> THIS IS OBAMAS GAME TO LOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!

OBAMA CONSTANTLY DROPS THE BALL lol~~~~!!!!!!

Mike   December 12th, 2009 - 1:50 pm

I love the Obama nuts getting mad when their man gets any type of criticism, but they themselves were leading the charge against Bush calling him a war criminal and Nazi and so forth. Unfortunatley for them, there are alot of people in this country with the growing sentiment that Obama mania, will put us in Obama ville!

typicalwhiteguy   December 12th, 2009 - 1:51 pm

What happened to all the other comments?

cindyg   December 12th, 2009 - 1:52 pm

Are you people serious? Bush’s fault? Are you really serious? Obama has spent triple what Bush spent in 8 years…our country is headed for distruction. No jobs, health care for illegal’s, are you people all on drugs? How’s that change working for you?

Michael   December 12th, 2009 - 1:52 pm

Sure, you can pass the blame to 8 years of Bush. But, when you build so much hype on Hope and Change, what else do you expect. The voters believed Obama’s garbage and now they defend his lack real change and accountability. Let’s get real.

Let me get this straight… these people are are living in a homeless tent community because the current administration is pushing legislation which make living unsustainable for many of its own citizens, and some viewers are only offended by the friggin’ sign? Blind party obedience has always amazed me.

I’m offended that people are being forced into these type of living conditions, and that nobody in our government is doing anything to fix the problem, not that someone exercised their first amendment rights to peacefully speak their mind.

And for those whose answer is simply to “blame it on Bush”, two things:

1.) How do you absolve Bill Clinton for the 9/11 attacks seven months into Bush’s presidency by saying “it’s Bush’s fault”, and absolve Obama ten months into his presidency by saying the exact same thing? This type of logic cannot be based on a standard set of principles, other than “we must protect whoever has a “D” attached to their name. How can you allow your mind to function like this and sleep at night?

2.) Simply blaming Bush does not address an answer to the problem. I am more interested in seeing the problem fixed. Obama is currently in the White House, not Bush. And quite frankly, his administration as well as congress, has been pushing through legislation which exacerbates the situation instead of alleviating it. I’d have a lot more respect for Obama if he would seriously tackle this issue instead of using it as as excuse to allow more government encroachment into the private sector, while passing the buck backwards to Bush. When we no longer have an economic situation which is forcing people into these type of living conditions then we debate who’s more at fault until we are blue in the face. But for right now, I think putting pressure on our current government officials to make sure more of us don’t end up in these homeless tent communities should take priority.

These people need & deserve help.
But the sign should read Obamaville!
This economic collapse happened on President Oboma’s watch!!
If this sign brings in assistance for these people – then it is worth it no matter who you name it after.
I still don’t understand why nobody has been charged or jailed for the economic disaster??
Please explain that to the millions of children going without!

Gary T.
You seem to forget (very conveniently) that for the last two years of the Buch Administration we had the botox queen Nancy Pelosi in charge of the House.
If you ever read the Constitution, you might have remembered that the President can’t spend a dime unless it is appropriated by the HOUSE.

You might consider getting a tudor to guide you through that simple document. It is not as large as the 2,000 + pages of garbage the leftists are attempting to shove down our throat.

President Obama should be proud, this is what he wants. People totally depended on him.

The Economic collapse isn’t the fault of Obama or Bush. It was greedy banks and lenders taking advantage of people. Obama sure isn’t doing much to get us out of this mess though. The stimulus bill was a joke. There was so much wasteful spending in that bill.

JB   December 12th, 2009 - 2:00 pm

Obama vs. Bush is hilarious. The village should be called GOVSPENDINGVILLE. Or TAXVILLE. People please understand, poverty is crated by Government.

Gary T,   December 12th, 2009 - 2:00 pm

It’s all Bush’s fault, but I’m still waiting for my free gas, and kitchen. Obama did promise all these things and more and I’m sure he’ll come through. Obama has great track record so far!

Signed,
Gary (Still waiting in Obamaville)

Bush’s wars, Bush’s economy, Bush’s bailout, Bush’s debt, Bush, Bush, Bush! I’m getting pretty sick of it. You Obama fans better wake up, he’s just more of the same old stuff including globalism. They are determined to give America away. The New World Order is just around the corner. Believe it. It’s about to happen.

“I still don’t understand why nobody has been charged or jailed for the economic disaster??”

Dear Gary T.,

Would that mean anyone who voted for those policies and for the “stimulus”?
If so, then B.O. would be in the stocks as well.
He is doing everything he can to derail the economy.
More jobs have been created in the Public Sector, the gov’t, than the Private sector, Free Enterprise, since Obama has been in office.
What say you to that?
You cannot blame GW forever. What has Barack done for you lately?

Cogs   December 12th, 2009 - 2:08 pm

I see the Loons are still trying to blame Boooosh for the problems we’re in. Truth is, the economy problems started with the Democrat created housing bubble bursting. Bush warned congress 17 times in eight years that they needed to increase their oversight, but thanks to crooks like Barney Frank, noooooo!

Bush also didn’t create the CRA, and the “community organizers” pressuring banks to make loans to people who couldn’t afford them. Oh wait, Obama was one of those “organizers”. And since Obama has been in office, all he’s done is make matters worse.

Welcome to Obama-land, where everybody’s poor (except Obama).

B   December 12th, 2009 - 2:09 pm

Actually, it should be called ClintonBushObamaville, since they are all partly responsible.

Eeriemoon   December 12th, 2009 - 2:09 pm

I never understood why homeless people live in cold weather areas. The minute I became homeless is the minute I start out for the deep south, I would walk there if need be.

Where is the US Marshall’s Office? Arrest that fake presidential impersonator you worthless criminal lackies!

Hang the son of a bitch for treason! Burn his stinking corpse when he’s dead. Then throw EVERY member of Congress into prison forever. Lets dust off the Constitution and start over. Kill every cop who tries to get in the way as traitors.

Bill   December 12th, 2009 - 2:12 pm

79 years ago the country had Hoovervills make shift shacks and tent cities of individuals and famillies displaced and homeless because of the depression and massive unemployment. Hoover told the country that prosperity is just around the corner. Unemployment went up and conditions became worse. Obama is more or less saying that prosperity and good jobs are just around the corner(in 2010) hang on go with my plan. Hoover was wrong Obama is wrong and he knows it.
