NY TImes: Glenn Beck, the hero of the political right and the closing speaker of a three-day conservative conference, ripped the roof off a Washington hotel Saturday with a sweeping denunciation of progressivism.

Sean R.   February 18th, 2010 - 11:08 am

Are they going to bring up “immigration” there speeches at CPAC? Because I remember
that last years CPAC they NEVER mentioned illegal-immigration and how to close down
our borders with Mexico, all they did at last years CPAC was “Republicans good, Democrats bad”,
and “we need to get back to our conservative values, etc., etc., etc.,”!

Liberalism is a Mental Disorder!!!

This very well may not get posted. What they don’t want you know.

The 51-year-old ultra-conservative group John Birch Society, once ostracized by the right, is co-sponsoring the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference. You can go so far right or left and fall of the cliff.

Dick Armey talks about the re-distribution of wealth.Like when tax payer’s
money was used to bail out the big banks?

I also hope some conservatives there will ask WASHINGTON — Republicans who railed against the Democrats’ massive economic-stimulus and spending bills as fiscally irresponsible. Why they are now taking credit for projects in their own districts funded by the measures?

Rexter   February 18th, 2010 - 12:18 pm

We need a national move to do all we can to have Bill Maher fired and kicked off TV. he says some hateful thing about Sarah and now hateful things about her child Trig. This is verbal hate crimes.
can you imagine the outrage if Maher said these kinds of things about Obama’s kids? Maher does not have the nads to and I would not want him to either. Obama; kids are good kids and Obama even said ly off my family. So why does not Obama and the White HOuse ask for Maher to be fired also. Where is the womens groups and the Disabled Associations condenming what Baill maher says. He also says Americans are stupid.

get this guy fired and or dig up some real dirt on him.

They did it to Beck. And, Jesse Jackson got rich doing it.

Thing to do is boycott the MSM corporate owners Disney (ABC), GE (NBC)and Viacom (CBS)and their sponsors. Spread the word, maybe it will go viral.

I think it’s disgraceful they call us racists for free speech, and expect us to buy their light bulbs and watch their movies.

Who took our country?

While you were sleeping.

The liberal regressive university systen throughout the country has been brainwashing our children for decades, into thinking liberalism is the only way to go…. and the liberal regressive democrats help have perfected a VOTER FRAUD coalition that has allowed hundreds of thousands of il-legals, dead people and non existing people to vote….and guess who EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM VOTE FOR?
They have been perfecting this VOTER FRAUD from back in the 1960’s that I can remember.

Wake up!

Donald Duck   February 20th, 2010 - 2:51 pm

If this CPAC meeting is nothing but a dog and pony show, the GOP is done. They need to respond to the enthusiasm with real live action. The made-for-TV health care event being staged this week by Barry O. and his posse will be critical to showing rational people whether or not the GOP indeed has grown a set or they are just trying to talk a good game. Remember GOP, we are watching and we have an alternative to your positions and action on those positions. The country wants a firm stance against all that the Jackass Party stands for.

List of “eleven” potential candidates for the Republican nomination in the 2012 Presidential election are..

Haley Barbour – not well known with the vast majority of Americans in my opinion. Not much is known of his political ideology or his conservative stances either if you ask me. He would need to prove he has what it takes to be President. I personally don’t see him gaining the nomination in 2012.

Mitch Daniels – smart, business savvy as well as a solid fiscal conservative. He turned Indiana around during his time as Governor. Daniels’ record of reforming government, reducing taxes, balancing the budget, and connecting with voters in Indiana would make him a shoe in as a potential Presidential candidate for the Republican party in 2012 in my opinion.

Newt Gingrich – Newt is smart and well liked by many Republicans. His knowledge on governmental affairs (and how to fix them) could prove very useful, but there are underlying questions as to his leadership abilities for the highest office in the land. Also, skeletons in his closet, such as his affair while Speaker of the House, could hinder the “trust factor” with the American people. I personally don’t see him as being a serious contender for the Republican ticket when it boils down to it. America needs “fresh” faces with “fresh” ideas as well as those who have a “fresh” vision for America. Newt, in my opinion, is over the hill politically speaking and his ties to previous scandals will hinder his chances to become President; even though Americans have essentially forgiven him for his previous infidelities.

Mike Huckabee – Mike is also well liked by the American people. He is amicable in his dealings with Democrats which bodes well for him working ‘across the isle’ if he were indeed to be elected. Unfortunately, Mike had a propensity to raise taxes while Governor of Arkansas and his record of granting clemencies to people who then turned around and killed other people after being released from prison shows a very serious ‘lack’ of discernment and thereby “poor judgment” on his part in my opinion, and will most likely cause it to be his Willie Horton moment(s) and prevent him from becoming the Republican nominee in 2012.

Sarah Palin – Bless her heart. Sarah is feisty, unabashedly conservative, very likable, principled in her beliefs, down to earth, knowledgeable in fixing problems (as she did while Governor of Alaska), and she’s very good looking too. :) Sarah does lack experience in the political arena though, and she would be hard pressed to garner the needed electoral votes to win against Obama if she were to run against him if she were chosen as the Republican nominee in 2012. If she even decides to run in 2012 that is. As a “vice” Presidential running mate in 2012 I believe she would add significantly to the ticket in a very positive way. But as a potential Commander in Chief I feel she would need more experience to prove her expertise and to have more time before the American people for them to get to know her better and then her chances could greatly improve if she decided to run for President in 2016 – possibly against a Hillary Clinton??

Ron Paul – Too radical in his views about foreign policy but he does have financial insight on how to restore fiscal responsibility to Government in my opinion. As a Constitutionalist, Ron Paul is a red blooded American who loves his Country but who’s other radical views concerning foreign policy, etc., would alienate him from many Americans and to some extent from even his own ultra conservative base to which he draws most of his support from.

Tim Pawlenty – Just an all around nice guy who is also a true conservative and very family oriented. Tim is very smart (knowledgeable) about governmental affairs and is the best thing that has happened to Minnesota in a long time. He turned Minnesota around from dire financial straits and has placed his home State on solid financial ground once again by his common sense approach and ideas, as well as his fiscal resourcefulness. His youthful appearance, along with his positive problem solving ability, would work very well in his favor if he were nominated to the Republican ticket in 2012.

Mike Pence – Up and coming powerhouse who shows his conservative principles and beliefs by his actions and by his conservative voting record. He’s not really well known with many Americans, but nevertheless, he has what it takes to get America back on track and back on the road to prosperity again in my opinion. A “vice” Presidential candidate would be a great alternative choice as well.

Mitt Romney – What can I say? Mitt Romney has done an “amazing” job of presenting himself to the American people as a ‘true’ conservative, albeit, it took quite a while for him to finally get there as we know. Mitt is extremely intelligent and very knowledgeable concerning American politics and the governmental system and on how to make it better by getting things done in the face of adversity. Practically everything he touches turns to gold and his shrewd business savvy propels him to the forefront when it comes to “running” the Country as our Commander in Chief and in getting America back on its feet financially and toward the path of prosperity once again. He is very Presidential in his appearance and he’s a very likable kind of guy, and he has a good sense of humor as well which comes in handy for a politician. Mitt Romney presents a quagmire that he must overcome though. He must ‘convince’ conservative Republicans and Independents alike that his flip-flopping days are behind him and that he will “stay the course” of conservatism if and when elected. If he can’t convince the American people that he’s had his “Jesus moment” regarding his current conservative principles and beliefs, as well as to convince them he will indeed stay true to his morally conservative family values and the conservative principles that he now adheres to, then he may well lose out on his greatest opportunity to become our next President. In other words, if he were to get elected as our President in 2012 and then does an about-face on his conservative principles after taking office and starts to track left and toward the liberal leaning tendencies he once embraced years ago, then the outrage from Americans who got him elected would rise to the very throne of heaven and I, for one, wouldn’t want to be in Mitt Romney’s shoes if and when that ever happened. And Democrats would immediately circle him like sharks to find his achilles heel and then proceed to try and divide the Republican Party even further and thus assure a Democratic victory in 2016. Mitt needs to convince the American people he won’t “backslide” once in office. If he can’t, he may as well kiss his opportunity goodbye.. because Americans are fed up with hypocrisy and self serving politicians, and consequently, breaking the trust of the American people is NOT an option anymore. By the way, Mitt Romney will most likely win this year’s CPAC straw poll again. You heard it here first. ;) If he loses.. my bad. I think he’ll win it though.

Rick Santorum – Great guy, very likable, a true conservative, very smart, has an enamoring persona in the eyes of the American public, a problem solver, across the isle worker, good credentials, and nobody should count him out as a possible Presidential contender in 2012.

John Thune – Outstanding moral character with longstanding and principled Christian family values and beliefs and a true social and fiscal conservative indeed. He is Presidential in his appearance, likable in his character, an up and coming political powerhouse in the Republican Party, strong on Military and National Defense, strong on individual liberties and freedoms, and in all likliness has the muster and know how to run the United States of America as our Commander in Chief. He would be an excellent “vice” Presidential candidate as well in my opinion.

3 or 4 years ago, I couldn’t stand to listen to Beck. Then one day, I found a subject he was discussing to be interesting. I was stunned. He actually made sense! Sure, he uses theatrics and some ham acting but you cannot argue his points very much. Libs tend to point out his tears flowing or his seemimgly outlandish comments rather than the true content of his speeches and discussions.

I like what you wrote and agree with most of it, for the most part. However, Palin to me is an opportunist. Nice women and treated unfairly, but I’d much preferr a Hutchinson/Bachman. We need long experience and we have to get out of this “well I’ld like to have a beer with” mentality.

I know conservatives will just blindly follow here, but she a seems like the Republican version of Hillary. Not good in my opinion.

Plus, I don’t care what excuse she gives; She did quit. She was for a bridge before she was against it. She did go all ‘Huckabee’ in Alaska.

We circled the wagons to protect her from abuse, but let’s not kid ourselve beyond that. She’s not the leader of the conservative movment. Not now, not ever nor any faction. Period. I’m not going to help her sell books ala Obama.

And now we have Socialism…it used to be creeping in slowly….now it is bull dozing over every aspect of our lives…whether we like it or not. As we tear apart the Republicans there has been great changes. They have fought against this administration in times of the stimulus, TARP, and health care so give them a bone and stop being so hard. Let us now rebuild them to what they use to be.

Beck showed his true colors on his show trying to sink Debra Medina with 9/11 truthers. He backs the former Democratic turned “conservative” RINO Perry for governor of Texas.

When it comes down to it Beck backs the RINO’s. He did the same to Ron Paul in 08 and I gave him a pass. No again the guy is two faced.

Here’s Medina’s response-

I’ve watched GB pretty much from his start on Fox. I think he does a good job at explaining what’s going on……BUT! When he goes off calling people with legitimate questions “Idiots”(Birthers)he loses my support.

He preaches about “Common Sence” but shows none when it comes to this issue.Even IF obama was born in Hi.,he is at best someone with ‘DUAL’ citizenship. Why Beck and Bill O’Reilly take factcheck.com and two birth announcements that grandma put in the papers as gospel is beyond me.

In response to TOM:

Get back under the desk where you belong, better yet get a one way plane ticket back to Venezuela. I am getting sick of you Socialist pigs who continue to destroy freedom. You whine because you don’t get your handouts, too dam lazy to work for what you get and would rather tax the wealth for your welfare check. You will be first to CRY when all the money is gone after your Master destroys the economy. Wake up you Punk before you get swept under the carpet by your beloved Socialist Party.

All I can say, “Great Speech Beck!” Everyone should share this with family and friends. I love history–and I would have loved Glenn Beck as my history teacher at any grade level!

When did it become wrong to have notes for a speech? I didn’t see anything wrong with Sara Palin writing notes on her hand, or Glenn Beck using notes to reference quotes and statistics. In my speech class in college, it was called “talking points” to keep you on topic. It’s way better than using a teleprompter robotically. I’m waiting for Obama’s Ron Burgundy teleprompter moment…. I’m thinking he’ll say just about anything if it’s written. That would be classic!

While some of what Beck says is true in this video about the progressive history…

Why does Beck think the Iraq war was and still is consitutional?
-War requires a declaration from the Congress, that never happened-

Why are people ignoring Ron Paul’s liberty and end the FED message?
-Which in part has been highjacked by Beck and now Palin-

Why are people waking up and instead of just embracing Ron Paul’s ideas, buying into this neocon propaganda?

If they divide us, we will be working against each other. I’m voting for Ron Paul come next election, the true founder of the liberty movement.
Now to the rest of you neocons which eat this garbage up like its a damn sermon, try starting your own wishy washy movement that represents sticking to the consitution when it is convinement for you!

If you think Ron Paul is radical, you are just too chicken to make the changes that are in line with the ideas you claim to represent.

The party that did not stop Nazis. The democrats.

After all is said and done, it was conservatives from America and the UK
that paid the price to get rid of Nazis.

To those three stooges of muslim extremism, Rexter, racerx and Alexander F_CK YOU.

To triple nutcase whatwhathwat, what the f-ck are you trying to say? You are the dumbest person on earth.

Please, can any liberal prove any point you make or are you all just as dumb as a bag of hammers?

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   February 21st, 2010 - 5:39 pm

America…something is very unsettling to me about conservatives as a “group”! There appears to be two separate groups!

Those who are tried and true conservatives and those that are ‘moderate’ conservatives…who believe somethings but not all things.

Case in point…Ron Paul. I was not a supporter of Ron Paul, and am uncommitted to him at this point not because of his message, but because of the messenger.

It is not that I don’t like him and/or his message, but I see Ron Paul as a concerned, dedicated grandfather fighting for his children and grandchildren.

I noticed for the first time…a split in the conservatives. When he was introduced at CPAC it was with alot of hoopla by the younger generation who were exuberant about his message.

Then I saw the other more ‘moderate’ conservatives just sitting them endearing.

That is not a good sign…America!

I also noticed this in the Texas gubernatorial race with Debra Medina. I am shocked that so many conservative commenters have gone against her because of this setup interview with Glenn Beck.

And, America, it was setup. Just seven (7) mins after that interview…robocalls from Perrys campaign were going out attacking her for being a 9/11 truther…which is the farthest thing from the truth!

There is no way that this kind of robocall organization could have been done in (7) mins…it was already in the wings and ready to pounce the moment the interview ended…that to me…is a setup!

Perhaps, not on the part of Glenn Beck (although I think he showed true bias towards Perry) but I believe those emails he said he received came from the opposition camp to set him and Debra Medina up!

Yet, conservatives are believing the lies and spins and holding back their support of the only ‘real’ conservative in the race! You are doing exactly what the moderate ‘fence sitting’ Republicans and Democratzi ‘loons’ want you to do…go against one of our own!

This cannot be…America…united we stand to back our government and divided we all fall with America at the hands of the Democratzi ‘loons’!

America…we are the same people that came out and supported a ‘fiscal’ conservative in Massachusetts…why cannot you come around and give the same support for a ‘real’ true conservative in Texas?

You are being blinded…and this kind of a candidate will arise again in America! Are you, again, not going to support to take back our government and instead leave in a moderate ‘fence sitter’ of the Republican party or a Democratzi ‘loon’ because you won’t get behind a ‘true’ conservative.

Shame on you for thinking that way…the enemy is not within the conservative movement…it is in power in our government!

————————————–

REMEMBER THE ALAMO……JUST (10) MORE DAYS TO THE TEXAS ELECTION FOR GOVERNOR!

TEXAS…YOU HAVE THREE CHOICES

1. INCUMBENT PERRY – WHO HAS BEEN REPORTED ATTENDING THE 2007 SECRET MEETING OF THE BILDERBERG SOCIETY!

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/world/stories/DN-perry_31tex.ART.State.Edition1.43b926a.html

2. SENATOR HUTCHINSON – A MODERATE ‘FENCE SITTER’ WHO HAS BEEN IN WASHINGTON TOO LONG.

http://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Kay_Bailey_Hutchison.htm

3. DEBRA MEDINA – A ‘TRUE’ CONSERVATIVE WHO ‘QUESTIONS WITH BOLDNESS’ AND IS NOT A PART OF THE REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT AND A THREAT TO THEIR MODERATE ‘FENCE SITTING’ WAYS!

http://www.medinafortexas.com/

ONLY ONE “REAL” CHOICE…HERE…TEXAS…GET BEHIND HER AND BRING ‘CHANGE’ AND ‘HOPE’ TO AMERICA BY CHANGING THE STATUS QUO IN TEXAS.

WE SENT A MESSAGE TO THE DEMOCRATZI IN MASSACHUSETTS – LET US SEND ONE TO THE REPUBLICANS IN TEXAS!

America. Please wake up before we collapse. Let’s stop Obama and his circle from insulting our intelligence and collapsing our beloved country. Protect and preserse our USA. Let Obama and his puppets go. He is not only acting stupid, he is truly dangerous to keep in the White House. Let’s grant him his wish: to be a one-term lower-than-mediocre president and let him know that, NOW.

Cameron   February 21st, 2010 - 10:59 pm

It’s very simple, it’s about “we the people!” The Marxists/Progressives are affraid of of “we the people”, and personal responsibility, and competition, and free enterprise, and small government. They believe in the Obama Big Government utopia. Long ago they were sold a bill of goods that government was “good” and America and free enterprise were “evil.” They drank the Kool-aid, they embraced the hate mongers, and helped to spread their lies. Yet 45 years of their social justice policies have proven the greatest fraud ever committed against those of poverty in the inner-cities, enslaving them to eternal poverty, crime, addiction and idiocy. They despise dignity and initiative. A confident and free man cannot be controlled. A man with a sense of personal responsibility cannot be made a slave. It is this concept of “self determination” that is being reawakened within our country. The vision of our Founding Fathers that this country was established for “we the peolpe”, not we the government.

Progressism, the curtain has been pulled back, your lies are exposed, your time has come!

Scagsdale   February 21st, 2010 - 11:01 pm

Snake Eyes – cut it with the “John Birch Society” garbage. That is not an “ultra-conservative” group and it has nothing to do with the Tea Party movement or CPAC. The John Birchers are conspiracy nuts, who believe that rich bankers (and JEWS) are pulling all of the strings. They come up with all of this phony nonsense about the Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commision. And if you dig deeper, they believe the “Illuminati” is running everything, through it’s “front organization, the Masons! It’s nothing but rubbish. If you don’t like conservative beliefs, fine, that’s your choice, but if you are going to try to smear, at least pick a relevant group, dummy.

“3 or 4 years ago, I couldn’t stand to listen to Beck. Then one day, I found a subject he was discussing to be interesting. I was stunned. He actually made sense! Sure, he uses theatrics and some ham acting but you cannot argue his points very much. Libs tend to point out his tears flowing or his seemimgly outlandish comments rather than the true content of his speeches and discussions.”

Ever hear of Media Matters? They post transcripts as well as links to related stories that reveal the content of his speeches, placed in context, as well as reality…

Unforunately the conservative movement has moved further right embracing fringe elements into the national platform, and by doing so aim to revise the nation in the conservative mold. The GOP has become nothing more then an ultra-right wing party spewing lies, backing up corporations and religion over the common man…

Diana   February 22nd, 2010 - 10:14 am

This was the best speech I have heard since the gipper. Beck makes more sense in one sentence than most make in all their speeches combined. I would vote for Glenn Beck in a heartbeat. A common man whom has gone through life’s experiences and the school of hard knocks. My gut feeling, he truly loves America and has a true understanding for what made America the greatest Country in the world. He is self educated which takes away the social engineering of the progressive (Soros) bought and paid for collages, which in my observations are the downfall of the greatness of America.
I would love to see a man like Beck lead this Country over the spineless, Harvard, Yale mostly brainwashed collage lawyers that are taught to be so PC they won’t stand and call right, right and wrong, wrong. George Washington had to be almost begged to run for president. He wanted to go home and farm. They use to serve the people. Now they serve themselves and are easily bought and paid for, with our money.
Glenn Beck PLEASE run in 2012 as I believe your passion for the founding fathers America is embedded very deep in your heart & soul. I believe that common sense solutions, and common self made men are truly the answers for America.

Tom S.   February 22nd, 2010 - 11:35 am

Glenn Beck for President.

Tom   February 22nd, 2010 - 12:34 pm

In response to Bulldawg,

You have me mistaken for someone else. I’m anything but liberal. If you lived in Texas then perhaps you’d understand. Perry was a Democratic who joined the GOP. He hasn’t protected the boarder, wants to create toll roads to pay for new ones owned by foreign interests.

Just read Medina position (whom I support) and if she isn’t part of the Tea Party movement then no one is.

There is no more staunch conservative than me. That being said, Glen Beck is a baboon. If I hear him him say there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans one more time that’s it. I will never give that idiot another second of my attention. That goes for O’Reiley as well. Anybody who says that and believes it a true idiot or has just become politically aware in the last week.
