Okay, the time has come to propose a NEW tax. Only on Democrats. If you are a registered Democrat (or progressive, Marxist, Socialist, Communist) you can NOW put your money where your mouth is. A new 5% tax on all Democrats. Unconstitutional, you say? Singles out a group or groups? That never stopped you before. The progressive income tax is unconstitutional. It makes one group pay a higher rate than another. So if we are going to allow one group to pay a higher percentage of their income to the government it is time to tax ALL DEMOCRATS an extra 5%. People will give up on work because the more they are home and the more checks come in the better the Budweiser and the Malt Liquor begins to taste better until you are too drunk to work. He followed them into over 500,000 in debt and credit card bills. Guess what his parents pay for his life so at least it isnt taxpayers although now the law has changed and he doesn’t need his parents to pay his health care any longer. Taxes, you need to take an economics course. Your thinking is what Greece(and Spain, Portugal, Calif…..) is all about. You are not taxing wealth, you’re taxing high wage earners ,of which there are fewer of these days. It just produces less tax revenue as it drives the economy down. There is a point where you raise taxes(and continue spending).. resulting in a diminishing return . Dee-duh: Obama’s cuts are just rebates that expire the end of this year. Couple this with expiration of Bush tax cuts all Americans are going to be hit with higher taxes. People are not stupid. They can see what is coming over the horizon. It also is not all about taxes. Here is an example of how this hits:
Business proposal started in late 2007. Due to how slow the local planning department moves initial plans do not get approved until July 2008. Meanwhile new law passed by Democrat controlled Legislature and Senate (over governor’s veto) changed environmental rules, meaning a new “EIS”is required. This takes 16 months. While this is going on cost of Pelton Turbine, its infrastructure, and its related electrical system rises by 26% due to currency fluctuation. On top of this change to taxation hits, Bush cuts expire. Due to cash flow of project it will be hit with all the new taxes and mandates passed by Congress in the latest Health Care bill. Project will return 46 cents on each dollar of profit instead of the 58 cents previously. All of the delays, and extra costs are due to government in one way or another.
Partner finds out he can invest in a similar project in India that will return 56 cents instead of the 46. Project is cancelled. We are going to build there. Nine people lose their jobs. Jobs that paid about 46K a year.
This is why government can really screw the little guy. I’m fine. I’ve stopped investing in America due to an uncertain future of government policy. I’m not a huge investor by any means, but I am one of perhaps five or six million in this country. We are being traded out for Washington making most economic decisions. Like the command system in the former Soviet Union this will decay this nation quite quickly as money flows overseas. Look at the net investment numbers. In hard assets like factories, or R+D it has turned negative since the Democrats took control of the House and Senate. It is accelerating under Obama. So go ahead and attack “the rich”. The response from them will be quite loud and clear: Go to hell.
In FY09, Federal receipts from the three main sources of income (Individaul Income Taxes, Corporate Income Taxes and Social Insurance i.e FICA Payroll Taxes) were down 17% or $420 Billion from FY08! Yet these idiots spent 18% or $530 Billion more than FY08.
Thru the first seven months of FY10, receipts are again down 4.5%!
So these liberal morons suggest that the way to fix the problem is more taxes!

I am endlessly amused by liberal talking points that appear to make a tiny bit of sense, but not only have no merit – they are 180 degrees from reality. Example: “Clinton’s taxes were the same as Obama’s and we had a great economy then!” We had a crap economy in the early 90s until the Republicans took over Congress and balanced the budget. Remember liberals – the Congress is responsible for spending, not the president. Clinton was a smart cookie though. He saw which way the crowd was going and ran out front so as to claim to be the leader. I knew we were doomed when Republicans 2.0 in the 2000s spent like Democrats, because when the Democrats took over they would also spend like Democrats. Stupid Democrats and Obama could have had a lock on power for years if they had used the least bit of restraint in spending.
Liberal Democrats voted in a colossal idiot with zero experience (other than promoting ACORN and voting present) to run the nation, just because he is black and they wanted to show the World how cosmopolitan and politically correct they were.

Kreskin you lack intelligence. Almost 47% of people don't pay taxes in America. Your taxes didn't go down but they're getting ready to skyrocket. Just like mine. I make below the poverty line because there is no jobs right now to be had, I want to work making 40k a year but those jobs are gone thanks to the dictator in chief. I'm on food stamps and have a college education but because of the progressives dictator that's in power there are no 40k or higher jobs that I can get so I can get off food stamps. I hate having to have the government assist me in putting food on my table for my family. The tax you speak of as a "pipedream" the VAT tax isn't a pipedream. Volcker is talking about the VAT tax. So be prepared to pay more for everything from oil changes to toilet paper if that happens.

This has failed every time it has been tried. This would be a catastrophe added to a disaster. No one could recommend unless they wanted our Nation the fall.
FYI, it is absolutely the Christian thing to do to kick people off the dole if they: a. Act like they are entitled to the dole, b. Are hurting themselves with the money we give them, or c. Abuse our goodwill. This is besides the fact that charity requires the money to be volunteered, not seized. It is absolutely not the Christian thing to do to continue enabling bad habits. Is it loving to give an alcoholic free drinks? Of course not! He’s killing himself with that alcohol!
Mr. Volcker, you’re way past your time. Keynesian economics have been proven to be a failed method, check it out with FDR and his DOA 1930s. VAT has helped to destroy Europe, and other then Congressional meddling in the housing market, the United States have done just fine. What’s immediately needed now, are a thorough fumigation of a smelly and stagnated Washington politic, and replaced with Tea Party mentality that will reject Progress-ism/Socialism and put America back onto the Austrian free market model.

1. Stop all foreign aid immediately
2. Withdraw from the IMF
3. Stop all payments to the UN until all members are paid up (If they don’t want to tell them to move out of the US and don’t let the door hit you in the rear)
4. Withdraw all of our troops from Japan, Germany, Italy, etc. – leave those in Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan
5. Reform the tax code to include everyone and stop loop holes, payments to those who paid nothing and require everyone to pay at least 10% with no exceptions
6. Shut down the flow of illegal immigration by enforcing the law and fining any sanctuary city $1,000,000 a day until they enforce the law
7. Stop all welfare, Medicaid and other benefits to illegal aliens and those unwilling to work
8. Round up all illegal aliens and deport them to their home country
9. Reduce the pay and benefits of all congress the House and Senate as well as the President. Make their pay and benefits comparable to the public sector and performance based raises voted on by their constituents
10. Cancel all federal employee unions and their contracts
11. Require approval of the Senate to take Air Force One anywhere and stop the constant abuse of taxpayer money for campaigning, date nights, etc.
12. Impose term limits for congress
13. Eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts, funding of grants that cannot be proven to have a substantial benefit for the public (No funding for the study of the mating habits of the tsetse fly or how much methane is produced by bovine belching)
14. Eliminate the Department of Education, Department of Energy, Department of Agriculture, etc.
15. Make the First Lady pay for her staff
16. Eliminate any Presidential advisers aka czars not vetted by the Senate
17. Remove the power of agencies and departments to create new rules/regulations such as Net Neutrality, Emissions, etc.
18. Require congress to actually write and read the bills they pass – none should be more than 50 – 100 pages or it contain excess crap
19. No more earmarks period
20. Eliminate the practice of amending a non-relevant issue to any bill under consideration. Make them all stand alone
