To a Catholic, this would considered–at the very least–insulting, but should be, by a practitioner of that faith, considered sacrilegious. Once the host is sanctified, it is looked upon–by Catholics–as the body of Christ. To scoot off with the host–as this dope has did–just isn’t done. So, of course, the Archbishop is in arms. All Catholics should be!
As for Craig Allen’s post, what can you say about someone who considers himself so above the fray. Yet, taking a potshot at Catholics is pure class. Every chance you get–right? Dope. Man’s need to come to grip with his existence has lead many to ascribe to a higher power. Primitive man had this belief, as did Einstein, whose grasp of what constitutes creation far exceeds anything you’ve ever tried to wrap your head around. Even Joseph Campbell had greater reverence for religion than this and he believed it all came down to myth. I guess we can chalk it up to the fact that any idiot can post to these boards.
Harper should come clean with what he did, or be prepared to take heat from the Church.

He’s not even a Catholic Xian, he’s a Protestant Xian. It’s been some time since I brushed up on the Catholic branch of the Xian mythology, but I’m pretty sure he shouldn’t have been offered communion to begin with!
