He failed to ease environmental restrictions, such as CAFE standards, which result in numerous blends and disruptions in the energy supply chain. He did not specifically cut taxes on petroleum, which would have lowered costs. He did little to ease environmental regulations so that the first oil refinery in more than thirty years could have been built in the U.S.. Finally, he never did what every leftist pundit in the nation accused of him of wanting to do and that is: Take the oil in Iraq!

If Bush had done all these things, then maybe, just maybe, you could make a tenuous, but slightly absurd reference to Bush being like a crack addict in his quest for increasing non-fictional energy supplies in this country.

If Bush would have had a real domestic energy policy that supplied the country’s understandable energy needs, perhaps we wouldn’t have continued our absurd levels of funding of oil-rich Islamic regimes and other petro-dictatorships around the world. Bush was not an oil hungry corporate puppet, he was a man who believed in the need to defeat terrorists abroad. His belief in democratic peace theory marks him as an ideologue, but no Machiavellian craver of oil revenue.

In fact, the Chinese were drilling in the Gulf of Mexico under Bush, and now BP has hit a major strike in the Gulf. How greedy for oil could Bush have been to have allowed exploration and extraction in our traditional backyard to happen?

So not only are Van Jones comments unbecoming (not that I personally care for the “compassionate conservative” Bush, who did nothing domestically of note but blow up the size of government and institute the insidious DHS), but even worse, they are ignorant or purposefully deceptive.

If Van Jones wants to do a comparison of Bush to a crackhead, he should at least have his facts straight. Otherwise, it just smacks of him telling an anecdote that he and all his followers can relate to.

My grandparents were in a Japanese internment camp (which is not as taxing as slavery, but they still had all rights taken away unfairly), and yet they don’t go around thinking the government owes them anymore, even though that was more recent than slavery and they are still alive. Many African-Americans, even though the LARGE majority was not directly affected by slavery (I might even be correct in saying than no one is alive now who was directly involved in slavery, but I’m not sure) still blame everything on racism and therefore don’t see any reason for them to start being informed and contributing citizens because the world owes them something. This is not every African-American, of course, but what I’m talking about is definitely not a rarity. Get it together.

This entire episode is indeed laughable. People who don’t like Obama’s socialist policies or Jones racist rants are being characterised as “racists”, by the partisan loudmouths on the left.

Prior to my military service, I had very little contact with members of other races other than the very few Blacks and Native Americans in my area, I did not associate with all of them mainly because I chose not to hang out with people who’s typical position was one of arrogance and insult, but I did have some friends of races, than my own(caucasian). After joining the military the main divide was age not race, I got along with those of my own age group, race was immaterial. Older soldiers looked a me as “inexperienced” and when I got close to retirement, younger soldiers looked at me as the “old man”. But again we were all soldiers and race did not matter, except to some of the younger ones who still held their prejudices from their civilian experiences. Today I have many friends of a variety of races, and we talk about race and joke about it as well. But in the circle of Obamas friends and associates we have a mindset that point out that “only white kids are shooting up schools” (never mind that Blacks are shooting each other on the streets of most large cities on a daily basis), and we have a “Reverend” talking about the “white” “US of KKK A”, and how Obama is so mistreated. As a man who recieves $1400.00 a month as compared to Obama’s multi-million dollar book deals for a third rate memoir (yes I have read his first book), I have to wonder…just how mistreated is Mr. Obama, …truly?

Van Jones should lay off the crack himself. If he hates whites so much, why did he choose Yale, why not a “black” college like Moorehouse? He is definitely not funny. Wonder what he’s going to do for a job now? He’s an oreo. Black on the outside but wants to be white on the inside. How did he ever get into Yale in the first place? Must have been because they had to have a quota. Same for that idiot Harvard professor. Set those two universities back a few hundred points in my estimation. As for reading Obama’s book, Jon Weiss, if you’re through with it, could I borrow it for awhile? I’m out of toilet paper.
