Upside down or right-side-up, the American flag is always supposed to fly above any other flag. The real problem here is that another flag is flying above the American flag on the flagpole.

I was in Spain in 2005 after we waged war on Afghan/Iraq and there was a flag posted upside down…clearly disrespect/kick in the teeth after our AMERICAN MEN shed blood in their countries b/c they couldn’t take care of their domain. Shameful.

Should also mention, in Spain, on a high speed train there were super large letters painted on a concrete drainage canal (aimed at the train) saying “YANKEES GO HOME”…my advice, next war, let them learn German.

I agree 100% with flying the Flag upside down! The way our Nation is today, I believe EVERYONE should be doing it, IMHO. Flying the Flag upside down IS a sign of distress for our Nation…JUST AS IT STATES IN THE U.S. FLAG CODE! Read it people! On a similar note, I belonged to the Oath Keepers, flew the Flag upside down…and they told me to REMOVE IT FROM MY POSTINGS! Things that make you go hmmmm….. In accordace with NTP (Naval Tactical Publication) 14 the flying the Ensign upside down is a signal a vessel is in distress, and the only flag that is allowed to fly above the Ensign is the Church Pendant or Church Flag. As seen in the video the Christian Flag is correctly displayed.

With the administration and the media trying their best to nullify our laws, I was tempted to fly my flag upside down as well….but didn’t. I can understand this person,s reason for it and as a Vietnam Vet and resident of Arizona. I agree with the intent but left my flag upright out of respect for the troops still involved with the muslim civil wars that both Bush and Obama created to reduce our unemployment statistics. Perhaps a rally in Washington with upside down flags would have brought the message closer to the perpetrators of the distress.
I would say the other flag above the American flag is a symbol of Obama bowing an scrapping to other countries, our own POTUS has put the US below every other country out there.

I flew my flag uspide down on 9-1-1 and for weeks afterward. it is a symbolic gesture like wearing a black armband used to be a symbolic gesture of national distress. It is the ultimate way of showing respect for our flag when the days are dark and dismal and there has been a national catastrophe.

Actually, most Americans do not know the fact that in the Republic of Texas (considered a US State), the USA flag and the Lone Star state’s flag are to be flown at the same height. This was part of the Agreement between the Federal government and the government of Texas prior to Texas agreeing to become a state.
This should actually be the case with every State flag in the United States, as without the States, no Federal Republic of the United States would exist.

While Title 18, Chapter 33, Section 700 defines punishment for criminal defamation of the flag, it doesn’t make this particular disrespect of the flag a crime. However, it *is* highly disrespectful to misuse this means of display for a political purpose and should be rectified immediately.
