What right does the UN to look into anything in the United States? Socialism through the United Nations. With how much corruption is found in this organization how can they say anything. What will they do with this information. Could a socialist, considering she is most likely from a near socialistic country, ever see the fact that it could be because of the social programs that destroyed our economy. Programs such as the Housing and Recovery Act, I don’t remember if that was the name but it was push by Bill Clinton, expanded by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd when the Dems took power and ultimately help increase bad loans to those who couldn’t afford it. And they are still expanding it as we speak. This is the act that is push by organizations like ACORN to pressure banks to give loans to people who can’t afford them, making them ‘bad’ loans. Though at the same time the Republicans and Banks were not innocent either. The UN needs to keep their noses out of our business.

Quick follow up to my post above – There isn’t any hope that these foreigners will actually discover and report that it has been Democrats since FDR, Carter, and Clinton with the help of Dodd, and Franks who pushed and shored up low income housing demands and the repeal of requested regulation from the Bush Administration (11 times they wanted it looked at) into the foreseen low income housing problem.
Owning a house isn’t a right! It’s a privilage that is EARNED! The Democrats along with ACORN have pushed this agenda and threatened/demonized those who wanted to ensure responsible loans just to get poor people who could never pay for the houses to vote Democrat.
It’s very similar to the Cash for Clunkers program – many people getting into car loans at a time with record unemployment so they will be repo’ing cars in a year or so.
Also keep an eye on how the Low Income Home Lending enacted by the Democrats has lead to false economical growth that is soon to hit the Commercial Real Estate industry as well.

A right must stand free and clear and not be beholden to another to provide. A right can not force or expect someone else to give up there rights.
A right to housing or medical care or food or a car would imply that my right to not work for you be removed.
I have a right to the fruits of my labor.
I have a right to purchase, housing,medical care, food,a car or clothing.

Gee, I own a house that I have finally paid off over 29 years. No one helped me. I worked and still do work two jobs since I was nineteen. That was thirty five years ago. Just today I took a walk out into the woods to just get away from everything and listen to the wildlife. I was really out there making sure that when the sh*t hits the fan, I will be able to survive. Do you think the UN will come back with a reoprt that finds that the basis of housing shortages in NYC can be traced to the rent controls imposed during WWII? That’s 60 years of repressive government oversight, discouraging landlords from taking care of their property and ecncouraging those with preWWII apartmetns to hold on to them. The answer to housing in NYC is to revoke the rent controls and let the market determine rental rates.

Given that treaties have the legal power to supercede any and all federal and state laws the United States will owe every penny of all its produced goods and services for the next century. The scary thing about treaties is that there are court precedents from decades ago that they could have equal weight in US law with the Constitution – in effect treaties and executive agreements could conceivably amend the Constitution simply with the “advice and consent”of the US Senate. There was this nutcase Senator, John Bricker, from Ohio, who almost managed in the 1950’s to get this radical amendment (or set of amendments – check wikipedia) passed to make explicit the silly notion that the Constitution could not be so amended, just in case the Supreme Court had some such notion if a case making that point should ever get that far.

Good ole Ike worked furiously to derail that forthright constitutional “insurance policy” to keep his Presidential “options open”, so now we have still have no assurance that notion won’t subvert our country without the consent of the governed (along with a lot of other executive and judicial imperialism).

Indeed we need to be very afraid…

Something that costs money like food, medical care and housing cannot be a human “right” because in order for people who can’t afford those things to get them, you have to force somebody else to subsidize them. Now I am looking rather foolish I think because a hefty part of my savings…4 2010 Porsche 911’s or a coupe Ivy league undergrad educations…another house, or bunch of trips to any where that we never had..poof gone. I blame people like Barney Frank, Frank Dodd and other ego maniacal greedy power hungry politician’s that gamed the system to make themselves look good to certain groups and get their votes. I blame my neighbors that bought more than they could afford in cars and houses and ran up credit cards that I get to pay off now. Why is it right for my government…my employees to force me to help out people with nicer houses and cars and trips to Europe…I don’t care if they lost their houses and cars it they screwed up. Who’s to blame? In my opinion, it’s not so much who, but what. A thing, when given enough power anc control, can compel a person make desision that will make him progress, by the use of that thing, sometimes no matter how much havoc and damage it creates in the process.

What I am talking about is the ATM.

In 1998 (since you’re ‘in the business’), there were over 88,000 brick and mortar banks in the US. By 2001, there were only 22,000. They had been replaced by 325,000 ATM machines, that created a $2.5 Billion dollar a year business in just the little (then) .25 cent transaction fees.

ATM Fraud in 2001 was $140-million. So if consumers knew back then how vulnerable they were to ATM fraud and reduced their ATM usage by just a mere 10%, the industry would have lost $250-million in revenue. So the industry had a choice; Do we stop the fraud and make the system secure? Or do we make sure Johnny Citizen continues to use his ATM card as much as possible, to offset the losses.

The industry took the 2nd choice, in favor of making money, and decided to confound law-enforements efforts to stop the crime. They did not chase the crooks. They changed their policy to give the customer his money back immediately, giving the impression that ATM fraud was not a problem, when it was growing like a cancer. But the industry made more money on fees, than they lost to fraud, so they made the decision to commit social pollution.

This is the same philosophy that led them to lobby congress to loosen the rules for Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac. Drunk with the profits from ATM’s, they took that same “rational to pollute” and did it on a grand scale.

But think about it for a second. 22,000 brink and mortar banks. They closed 66,000 banks. Layed-off 1.5 million workers. The cost of all that infrastructre saved. All those salaries, maintenance, over-head. Did the bank consumer ever see a dime of that? No.

Then what did we see?

We say 1.5 million people who lost their jobs. Jobs taken by an ATM machine. Jobs that will not return to the people. And what about salaries?

The savings in salaries alone is over $1.5 trillion dollars per year!

The banking industry could have literally paid-off the entire US deficit each and every year with just the salaries saved from the installation of ATM machines! What what did they do? They raped the American people, started a protected cottage crime industry, and when that wasn’t enough they lobbied congress to dupe poor Americans into becoming their financial slaves, and when that went but they (are now) robbing the public treasury!

When is this maddness going to stop???

We have public housing that our income taxes pay for. People get aid for apartments. They do not have the right for the taxpayers to buy them a house. Giving aid, lowering interest rates, and letting lower income families getting housing loans without putting any money down is what started the housing crisis which was the biggest reason for our economic meltdown. If you don’t have any money invested in your home (down payment), there’s nothing to keep you from walking away when times get tough but you don’t have anything invested thus you aren’t losing anything. Also if the financial institutions are forced to lower their standards to make the loans, it’s protecting you from overextending yourself, it’s not discrimination. And this is none of the United Nations busisness.

Over a year ago, I read in USA today that thousands of African children were dying from being bitten by mosquitos, and that one mosquito net over their beds could save their lives. There is a REASON that the more you work, the poorer you get, and it’s not just the ‘gub’mint’ or the “commies”. It’s because you expect miracles to come from on high. Here’s a very simple example of life. Bill, Gertie, and Sneha are hungry and decide to order a pizza. Bill wants mushrooms and anchovies, Gertie wants plain pepperoni, and Sneha wants all veggie. Bill and Sneha have no money and Gertie is going to pay for the pizza with the $50 she earned from her paper route. What kind of pizza should they get? Most sensible people would think that Bill and Sneha should be happy to get any pizza at all since Gertie is paying for it with her hard earned money. Republicans tax Gertie $20 and pass laws in favor of Big-Pizza so that you have to buy a Supreme for $25. Progressive Democrats tax Gertie $40 of her $50 and spend $30 on a program to buy Sneha and Bill the pizzas that they want. The other $10, well that can be used to educate Gertie on the dangers of pepperoni. By the way, Gertie only gets a cheese pizza because a pepperoni costs $12.50.
