This is absurd. Students who have gone through college are the LEAST likely to join unions because unions are fundamentally ungeared to help individuals get ahead. The union policies will always be geared help those on the lower end of the scale first. True “social justice” would simply relegate the children of the rich to lives of poverty, and give educations to the children of the poor. It is counter-productive for most educated people to join unions.
I don’t think you can blame the immigrants for coming across. The two political parties are to blame for this. Why would anyone especially African American agree with the Unions considering they are the most racist against African Americans because of two reasons:
1) They want to oppress the African American community by just continually feeding them fish but denying them the lesson of how to fish. They are oppressing because they want everything to be given to their members and less to work for or fear of losing their jobs if they lower their standards.
2) They want to steal their jobs and give them to illegals turned by amnesty to citizens. Unions are the number one worst supporters of amnesty. They donate the most, fight the most, and support the most when it comes to passing amnesty. This is because their numbers are falling so fast.

Unions in themselves are no longer relevant. Workers are protected by federal mandates outside of “union” shops. Private business competing for employees are well aware of the protections granted to union and non-union employees by way of federal law. These laws supersede any union contract.
Basically, we no longer need unions. The union bosses understand this and have worked in the last 30 years to re-market themselves into “progressives” with a regressive agenda. That is, they want equality at the price of moving the economy backwards.

I took the hit and emptied my fully vested 401K when they talked about taxing them even more in 06, and I lost significantly LESS than I would have, had I left $ in the account! I opened my small business (bar and restaurant) on Obama’s big day Jan. 20 2009. We’re hurting now bc our business rely’s on people’s disposable income to keep us going. Why am I not surprised that there are plans to push a system that is clearly failing? Most of the young people I know are just plain stupid. They aren’t getting jobs precisely because they feel entitled, which is sad to me. If the younger generation would get their noses out of their ipods and work for it, they may be able to get ahead. If the average college buffoon thinks that he/she is going to land a high-paying job straight out of college, they are in dreamland.
Personally, I think college is a complete waste of time and money. All you do in school is learn how to work for someone else – but even that is questionable today as the socialist brainwashing has risen to a new high. I did not attend college, yet I work among many who did and I get paid a lot more. I have no debts as a result of student loans, and all the time these people were in school screwing around, I was gaining experience and making money in the real world.
The unions had their day, and that day is over. Now they are just destroying otherwise profitable companies by overpaying some people by huge amounts for doing labor a monkey could do, and in some cases, they aren’t even doing that much – Here in NY there are many Metro-North workers that excel at sitting on their arses and doing nothing while getting paid obscene amounts with unbelievable benefits. If it weren’t for these leeches and many more like them across every facet of the economy, many of them working (or not working) at taxpayer expense, we would all be paying lower taxes and less for our goods and services. The only union workers I know that work their arses off and earn their pay are those that work for UPS and kudos to them.
Other than chemistry, there is nothing you can learn in college that you can’t learn in a library.

Most teachers majored in education not in a specific subject such as math, english etc. They and the union leaders are for the most part envious of the public in general and could not learn or hold any job which requires thinking and hard work. They can’t teach a subject so why not teach socialism. Parents and students who are smarter than most teachers must regain control of their education. Home school,charter schools and non union schools are the only answer. No tenure. No unions. No incompetant teachers. Local school control. Student evaluation of teachers. Self respect is needed before self esteem.

1. You must teach equality
2. You go to college and it will be free
