That is plainly laid out in the text of the bill available to anyone to read online from Library of Congress and other places. Just Google H.R. 3200.
They deny that but it is truly written into the language. Just have a gov’t plan will do that anyway. Most companies will tell employees and retired employees to go and get on the gov’t plan since it is cheaper and any company insurance will be secondary to that or disappear altogether.
Now they have changed tactics to tell people it is to save them from the evil insurance companies since they hit so much opposition to the bill so far. Given that 95% of the population is naive and clueless about politics I think some form of it will pass since congress is not going to be affected by it.
That is the whole problem in a nutshell. It is we who live with it not congress.

This is pretty much a given. I know of national companies that have already announced to their employees, that once the Gov’t health insurance is available, they will be dropping the company health insurance program, and the employees will need to sign up for the Govt coverage.

You simply must analyze what this administration says very closely. Just yesterday Larry Summers, chief economic advisor to the President said in answer to the question if taxes are going to be raised on the middle class:
“The President is not for any program that must be primarily paid for by the middle class.” Note the word “primarily” in there. That answer does not support the Obama promise to not raise taxes on the middle class. In fct, it implies they will, since Summers had already said “It is never a good idea to rule anything completely out.” Tim Geither, Treasury Secretary, gave the same sort of nebulous replies yesterday when he was asked if taxes are now going to be raised on the middle class. Democrats in Washington never miss an opportunity to raise taxes.

politicans, not doctors. America has the best health care in the world, best medicine,
best surgeons, best technology, best cancer survival rates, and over 80% of ALL the Nobel Prizes in Medicine for the past 40 years. On the whole the USA is far better than other countries. But you want to ruin it by trying to give everyone univerasal (universally mediocre) health care. Even though all the evidence shows that the average success rate (and thus the number of poeple who LIVE and GET CURED) will go down.

is unfair, because 20% of the people don’t get treatment. (Total dead 34 per 100)

Fact is that the economic problems this country faces were created by the same politicians that are so hot to fix it for you. They tell you this must be done right now or the opportunity will be gone and you buy the clunker of a bill without knowing what is in it.
How did we get so many used car salesmen in our government? Well it’s sort of easy when they have a very large sea of dumb masses that will fall at there feet when they tell you “I’m going to get you some”.
You buy it when you are told it won’t raise your taxes and swoon when you get a few pennies more in your pay check. But you don’t make the connection when you have to spend more for the products and goods that you buy… you just simply blame it on “big greedy” corporations.

All you need is logic to know that Obama’s plan will end up wiping out private health insurance. Private insurance must make a profit to stay in business; the government option does not. Who can compete with that? And how many businesses will drop private insurance for their employees for the obamacare? And to those of you who think government-run health care would be better than what we have now, just talk to people in Canada, France and other countries that embraced the government option. It’s amazing how many people think that the only way to reform health care is the government-run option.
President Obama gives great speeches and he is one of the best con artists that I have ever heard speak. One of the first lessons every young person should learn is that when you are dealing with a con artist they are generally in a rush to close a deal and they don’t care about your welfare. When anyone tells you that you don’t have time to think an offer over then you should walk away. Most of of life’s decisions need to be carefully thought over. When someone lies to you once they will lie to you again and again. When President Obama talks the truth is lost and his lies are hidden behind his great smile and beautiful words. President Obama speaks of caring for those less fortunate people in our society while his objective is not to lift up those that are less fortunate but to take from those that have prospered and to destroy capitalism while he builds a socialist empire. By now everyone should be aware that Obama is is taking us down a road where the government will control at least health care, banking, manufacturing. And everyone should be aware that everyone’s taxes will be raised to pay for the trillions and trillions of dollars that President Obama’s socialist programs are going to cost. To take over a country you must first destroy their economy. Socialism is at the door.

1. I think this “socialist” accusation is bogus. No substantial meat (truth) to it. It’s just distracting rhetoric that dumbs down the discourse. Over the past year it’s become an umbrella term for ANY government regulation, reform or government initiative. Blurring definitions is not an argument.
2. The idea that a government option means more red tape + bureaucracy… well private insurers in the US are absolutely horrible when it comes to customer care and bureaucracy. You’ve got to admit that. In which case address it, don’t pretend it’s all so rosy or forgive the present system’s enormous flaws just to chant sound-bites with rest.
Clearly, Obama will always “CHANGE THE CALIBRATION” of his words to slide right into his true agenda….when he is caught lying or even revealing his true intentions. All of his words are weasel-words…designed to fog the issue for those that are still worshiping the sound of his voice. He is a total fraud, and those forum posters that defend his indefensible actions are all on his payroll and part of his machine. This is absolutely the truth. This is not new news. As a physician, I can say that universal healthcare is really what we need even with doctors maybe earning less money. It’s not going to happen, as Obama says, for many years.
Despite what propaganda is out there, the US has really fallen down the list for healthcare around the world.
Medicare while not being great, is FAR more efficent than an private insurance company in the US.
