Too bad they this man wasn’t an illegal alien, if he was they’d be eating steak, getting there rent paid, getting help paying their bills and enjoying free health care.
A SOCIETY IS JUDGED BY HOW THEY TREAT THEIR ELDERS & THE VULNERABLE.
“…the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; those who are in the shadows of life; the sick, the needy and the handicapped.” ~ Last Speech of Hubert H. Humphrey
But we gotta give billions to Israel – a country that attacked us repeatedly – and fight their wars for them while we are being invaded from Mexico and Jews are stealing everything from this country via the financial institutions. This is what they were doing to Germany when they, much braver than Americans at this point, stood up and said “no.” THAT is the truth that is not allowed to be discussed regarding events at that time – http://www.veoh.com/collection/coffinmanholocaust/watch/v189510xq2y2KJq
This is but a glimpse into our future with the Socialist Obama Regime.
Get used to it.
Welcome to Obamanation, it’s a living damnation.
Remember when Obama said “I am my brother’s keeper”? Yeah right.
Too bad they couldn’t have givin’ the old dude a heart transplant. They could have used Terry’s heart, since Terry is brain-dead anyway.
This is just wrong! I am 100% positive that people will help her out. I am not trying to be rude, but come on… I buy canned chili & beans & other things that cost less than a can of dog food….. grits, cream of wheat, rice…. I don’t get it. Am I missing something?
Nobody gives more than conservatives to charity and the unfortunate — it’s not even close when compared to liberals. And, the more conservative a person is, the more they tend to give to charity.
.
My thoughts exactly, Four. Our dogs always got the big bags of dry stuff because the canned food was so expensive. Something just doesn’t quite add up here.
I’m right there with Four and MJ. My very first thought was that there must be lots of “human foods” that are cheaper than dog food.

No offense, but like the others posting here, this story does not ring true. Rice and beans are cheap, canned dog food costs a fortune.
You can go to almost any “all-you-can-eat-buffet” — beg poverty — and they’ll give you what they are throwing away. Pizza Hut, where I live, told me that they can’t give away their left-overs to shelters or anywhere else. No one wants to pick them up. Those agencies asked for cash “donations” instead.
To sum up — despite the the fact the woman with the British accent probably wasn’t even born in the U.S. — the story is grandstanding bull crap.
Only the middle class can afford dog food — and her refrigerator looked fuller than mine!
Whatcha wanna bet the Obama regime jumps on this bandwagon and makes it look like they’ve come to the rescue. Probably tie it in to the Bush administration too.
Watch out people, this may be the opening salvo that food is a right and the reponsibility of government to provide it.
Last month they showed strawberry farmers destroying their crops because the price is 1/4 of what it last year. Then CNN showed some homeless people watching the video and they said “people can eat that”, “why are they tearing it up?”, and “it should be against the law for them to kill their crops”.
One more manufactured crisis anyone?
I’m not saying this people don’t exist but it is has mentioned by people like James Carville that some dems sit around planning some new program around an event (and news story) like this.
if you can buy dog food you can buy other kinds of food, this is a scam or some really really really stupid people.
Houston has a huge food bank, like most large cities, and very active food drives sponsored by several of the larger supermarkets chains. There was no reason for this couple to resort to eating dog food. Meals on Wheels was started in Houston, and people can get meals delivered to their homes!
As for canned dog food being “cheaper to eat” that is rubbish. Like others have posted, canned dog food is a lot more expensive than bag cereal, beans, rice, and other foods. The media that covered this story could have gotten them in contact with these organizations too, I guess they just wanted to keep the story going.
Why didn’t OBAMA help them? Here is the breakdown of some of the large corporations who gave to his campaign:
University of California $1,591,395
Goldman Sachs $994,795
Harvard University $854,747
Microsoft Corp $833,617
Google Inc $803,436
Citigroup Inc $701,290
JPMorgan Chase & Co $695,132
Time Warner $590,084
Sidley Austin LLP $588,598
Stanford University $586,557
National Amusements Inc $551,683
UBS AG $543,219
Wilmerhale Llp $542,618
Skadden, Arps et al $530,839
IBM Corp $528,822
Columbia University $528,302
Morgan Stanley $514,881
General Electric $499,130
US Government $494,820
Latham & Watkins $493,835
He who complains about the SCOTUS decision to permit large corporations to give donations should shut his PIE HOLE…
The cheapest can of dog food I’ve seen, and I have three dogs, cost 95 cents. Canned chili, as mentioned, is cheaper. Her pantry was far from bare. There are food banks at most churches. There are govt. programs for people with disabilities.
I echo those that said it before: something doesn’t add up here.
The city of Houston fed, housed, clothed, and provided medical care to over 300 thousand victims of hurricane Katrina who were in need years back. They were able to mobilize immediately, and accomplish this because they were prepared for emergencies, and due to the generous donations of Houstonians. This story sounds suspect to me. Help is around the corner for this couple, and now that this woman is alone, she will be certain to be taken care of due to the nature of the city, and the people in it.
This story is sad but something doesn’t ring true. No one in this country should have to eat dog food. I reserve any further opinion but I certainly hope this is an exception and not ordinary for these times. God Bless all who are facing serious hardships and may you receive kindnesses and help you so deserve.
May God be with this one.
I feel her husband went to a better place.
Being so ill he must have had much time to find peace with God.
Stay strong all and remember to be kind. dont let this go un-noticed.
There are some possible reasons this family would HAVE to eat dog food: to make a point, they are reluctant to ask for help at the nearest food shelter, or they just want to eat dog food.
There’s an over-abundance of community food pantries in Houston. Seek and find. You’ll eventually bump into one. There’s just no way, NO HOW, they couldn’t find and receive regular food to eat here in Houston. NO WAY.
Something else is up with this story.

Yes, apples, bananas, rice… Something is not right here.
how’s that HOPE & CHANGE working for you all?
I shop at a salvage store with dented cans of quality foods and it’s cheaper than the dog food they sell.
Go to your local wholesale store and start stocking up on large bags of flour, rice and beans. You will need about 100 lbs per person for one year. Keep these supplies DRY and SECRET! Suppliment these food staples with protein and flavorings.
Start gathering other items, first-aid, clothing, fuels, solar panels, survival manuals……weapons. When it falls apart, and it looks like it is about to fall apart, it will happen all at once.
If by the grace of God, things turn about, you will still have important supplies for living…but quite frankly, I think the obvious is coming at us at an accelerating rate.

Why wasn’t this couple getting help from Obama?
I’m serious about this! He’s stolen our money but he’s giving out our money to only his union thugs and colored folks?
That pour couple and now it’s just her.
Outrageous!
