"I think the President of the United States is doing a spectacular job in the face of a brand of insanity that doesn't make any sense to me as an American. Does anyone want anything to get done in this country?"

Colascguy   March 5th, 2010 - 10:56 am

I have lost all respect. Why did he even do band of brothers

plainolamerican   March 5th, 2010 - 10:57 am

I think he meant a wise CON man.

metamorphosis   March 5th, 2010 - 11:00 am

How far you have come. From a guy who played a guy dressing like a women to save money, to a guy try to bring down the catholic church in the Davinci Code,to a guy giving political commentary.

jillcooks   March 5th, 2010 - 11:02 am

AW Tom! I love your stuff, but really how in the world do you who celebrate what these brave men and women did during WW2,and have in the same cerebral cortex the notion that BHO is a wise man. These men went to fight against much of what this goverment wants to put forth. but hey thanks for Band of Brothers and John Adams….oh hell even Bosom Buddies

Desiree   March 5th, 2010 - 11:04 am

Wise, calm man?????? WhoTheF are you talking about Hanks???????? Okenyan is trying to destroy this country from within. Is that spectacular to you?

I believe any American has the right to speak their mind, but please educate yourself. Tom Hanks, you sound like a blithering idiot.

Bill   March 5th, 2010 - 11:07 am

And we care about what Tom Hanks thinks because????? He reads words written by others and feigns emotion in doing so (one could say he is just like Obama in those respects). Tom, go back to Hollywood and shut the f— up!

ECartman   March 5th, 2010 - 11:08 am

Tom Hanks couldn’t act his way out of a nutsack!

NoNewsHere   March 5th, 2010 - 11:08 am

People will say anything on MSNBC, because they know no one will hear it unless it shows up on Breitbart.

Commieobamie   March 5th, 2010 - 11:12 am

Yes, the USURPER IS “a brand of insanity that doesn’t make any sense to ANYBODY who IS an American”.

Notice he had to say “AS” an American. So he’s just playing the part of being an American. BUT NOT A REAL AMERICAN!!!

Richard   March 5th, 2010 - 11:13 am

I really don’t care what these hollywood types think politically. They are all so out of touch with the rest of us. Hanks is one of the bigger polluters to our culture.

LOL HAHAHA HEHEHE LOL   March 5th, 2010 - 11:16 am

Desiree March 5th, 2010 – 11:04 am
Wise, calm man?????? WhoTheF are you talking about Hanks????????

LOL HAHAHA HEHEHE LOL

Sums it up perfectly, don’t it?

LOL HAHAHA HEHHE LOL

BobPDX   March 5th, 2010 - 11:16 am

Another filthy rich hollywood fool who will not be impacted by Obama’s socialist agenda.

I couldn’t care less what Tom says, he will be in a protected class of elites and government boot licking lap dogs if Obama has his way.

Sorry Tommy, this is America and we will not let this happen.

PLAYS MAKE BELIEVE FOR A LIVING   March 5th, 2010 - 11:18 am

THIS D!CK HEAD PLAYS MAKE BELIEVE FOR A LIVING!

AND HE KNOWS ‘WISE’ HOW?

mike gino   March 5th, 2010 - 11:18 am

Don’t spend one penny on frauds like Hanks, who in real life is about as mart as forrest Gump. Hit them where it hurts and they’ll be humming a new tune.

asleep no more   March 5th, 2010 - 11:19 am

Can a person have wisdom without INTEGRITY?

Joe Doakes   March 5th, 2010 - 11:21 am

Mr. Hanks,

Obama is trying to kill the manned space program. Open your eyes.

Joe

John Campbell   March 5th, 2010 - 11:22 am

The United States Armed Forces, like any nations military, is in fact a military DICTATORSHIP. Any military must be handled in such a way to perform. Imagine discussing the next charge over the wall among all the soldiers in committee to vote on the next move of every squad/platoon.

Now Hanks want’s health care in the U.S. to be a government entity instead of free enterprise and run like the dispensary on a military base. As I’m prior service myself I don’t think that’s such a good idea and I’m certainly not in favor of having my beloved country being run as my much beloved military. How ignorant does anyone have to be to not recognize what Hanks just said as an advocacy for dictatorship? I gave General Colin Powell a pass on his similar comment as I know he has a long military history and would not be expected to know the difference, as such I couldn’t vote for him due to this very view point, but Tom Hanks should know better. This now causes me to question just where Hanks views on our form of government truly reside.

Glory   March 5th, 2010 - 11:23 am

Well, that does it for me regarding Mr. Hanks. I won’t be going to anymore of his movies. He lives in Dopeywood and has no clue what the real world is like, or what real people deal with day to day because of his president! Too bad….I used to love him in Bosom Buddies! lol

Kek   March 5th, 2010 - 11:24 am

Thank you Mr. Hanks. You’re saving me money because your name has been added to a list of libtards I will not pay to see ever again.

kay   March 5th, 2010 - 11:26 am

Movie stars….hmmm. Don’t we all know about the Follywood types and their beliefs?? Tom Hanks knows where his bread is buttered, and he is buttering like crazy.
Actors don’t live in the real world….most are losers, abusers, and twisted in so many ways.
If you have any morals, and ethics, at all….you stay far away from the Follywood crowds.

Maybe, Tom just doesn’t want to make waves with the Government.

Yes, Obama is a smooth talker, calm, and charming. Aren’t all politicians??? At least till you take a closer look and find out what unethical, cheap, immoral, traitors they become with power.

muggins   March 5th, 2010 - 11:27 am

Yo! Tom! Doing nothing would be an improvement. Is there a law that says every politician must pass a bill? Thank God I live in a state with representatives who LISTEN to the majority of the voters and are voting against the crap our communist and chief is pushing on us. Now I won’t be able to watch you on screen without remembering you licking Obama’s boots. If all those American soldiers you love to make movies about could hear your communist speak, they’d be rolling in their graves. You are just another person who thinks because you are famous, you are smart.

DA BEARRRRS   March 5th, 2010 - 11:28 am

Still in character as Forest Gump, huh?

Yeah, uh huh. That's right.   March 5th, 2010 - 11:28 am

Love Tom the actor and movie producer but shheessh, what a moron when it comes to “real” life. Typical Hollywood kool aid drinker.

jw   March 5th, 2010 - 11:30 am

This is depressing and disappointing coming from Hanks—I thought he was smarter then this.

Check out the latest at http://www.onlibertyandfreedom.com

Sam   March 5th, 2010 - 11:30 am

Tom, I hear Wilson calling. Time to return to the Island. It should be a short trip since you obviously aren’t living in the same land as the working stiffs.

Jana   March 5th, 2010 - 11:31 am

He and Matt Damon should get a room. I am sick and tired of these pampered, delusional liberal actors and directors talking about politics like they are the sole voice of reason. They live in a bubble of fantasy, and excess and don’t have a clue about the real issues, and who is really keeping this country going. They fly around in private jets, thinking they are above everyone else, dreaming of creating a utopia from a sci-fi movie. He, and all the others need to stfu and stick to reading lines off of a script.

Angry Xgen'er   March 5th, 2010 - 11:33 am

Stupid is as stupid does.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?videos=cwXLANaMozo&v=6MT3CihStFQ

Tom is an actor first, just like he said. And this is another hollywood joo who has the skills to pull on our heartstrings, with old war screenplays.
You seem WWII to Tom is just another cultural tool in which to make money. His acting is not derived out of some sort of patriotism. It his business. And sleepy, sheepy Americans go and spend their time and money to see his products, and LOVE Tom Hanks, because he reinforces existing cultural memes.
Pretty handy, but not original.
As for the wise leader comment, look at who he is and the culture that he inhabits. It’s been pointed out before.

Steven   March 5th, 2010 - 11:33 am

I never realized Hanks was such a moron. Did you see him on Regis and Ripa? He kept calling Ripa Kathy lee, when she finally told him that her name was not Cathy Lee and that Kathy hadnt done the show in 9 years, Hanks was flabbergasted and unhinged, he had no idea.
What an idiot. Don’t believe me?

http://blog.zap2it.com/thedishrag/2010/03/tom-hanks-on-regis-and-kelly-slips-up-calls-kelly-ripa-kathie-lee.html

These are the people who are reward with untold riches in our society because they photograph well and recite lines. While people like cops and paramedics make peanuts…

God help us…

OneHandClapping   March 5th, 2010 - 11:38 am

If a celebrity falls on MSNBC and no one tunes in to hear it, did he really make a noise?

melli50   March 5th, 2010 - 11:38 am

Why do we care what these idiots in Hollywood think?

Thor   March 5th, 2010 - 11:40 am

That’s right moron. When the government stops it’s craziness of constant bill passing, the people profit. And we certainly thrive if this administartion is stopped in its tracks.

man-with-the-one-red-shoe   March 5th, 2010 - 11:42 am

tom is very wise , the president can’t fix a country of over 300 million people in 12 months.

Seansie   March 5th, 2010 - 11:43 am

That’s like someone raping his wife while he contemplates that “they’re just showing her affection”.

Donna   March 5th, 2010 - 11:48 am

Don’t these Hollywood people know that every time they open their mouths, they are losing future income?…..I would rather see “Plan 9 From Outer Space” again than go to another Tom Hanks movie. Actually, he lost me as a fan when he did “The DaVinci Code” which I think is blasphemous….

Willie Nelson   March 5th, 2010 - 11:48 am

hanks probably owes back taxes.

U NO HOO   March 5th, 2010 - 11:49 am

Yeah, I want to watch a tv show with Brokaw and Barnicle, two old white guys. If I want to hear an old white guy I’ll talk to myself.

Exlax   March 5th, 2010 - 11:50 am

tom looks constipated in this photo

Hooked on Obonics   March 5th, 2010 - 11:54 am

Unlike our friend Tom, I can’t afford to be a liberal.

Snailmailtrucker   March 5th, 2010 - 11:56 am

He is what he is…. a plastic ACTOR.

He like almost every other Hollywood (so called) celebrity …they are so out of touch with anything that has to do with morality or values, but they think that because YOU go and watch their movies, that YOU must be just like
them, (and support) everything that they stand for in real life.
(they don’t actually have a real life!)

BOYCOTT EVERYTHING THAT HOLLYWOOD PUTS OUT..STARTING WITH THIS MORON’S WORK!

foo   March 5th, 2010 - 12:02 pm

Who is Tome Hanks? Never heard of him.

A Huge Fan... NOT!   March 5th, 2010 - 12:02 pm

Amazing actor, Hanks is… makes you want to be his best friend, but in reality he’s nobody you’d ever want anything to do with. He’s a progressive maggot who delights in the joy of Obama stealing our liberty. I’m dedicated to making sure he never sees one dime of my money

sallysays   March 5th, 2010 - 12:04 pm

Oh I get it now—Hollywood libbers live in the same bubble as the Washington fibbers. Nothing else exists outside their tunnel vision of progressive thinking. Can we expect anything else from Hollywood. I mean, it’s entertainment ya know?? Just consider the source and get on with your life. Everything out there is phony and make believe so the “Great Stars of Hollywood” like to make up their own agenda and push it to the public any way they can..

eor   March 5th, 2010 - 12:05 pm

Yeah, Obimbo is a wise calm man who deliberately found the most die-hard marxist professors at colleges (and everything since is worse). Sounds like a real loser to me and at this point nothing he does will change my mind. Tom Hanks was a favorite of mine until he started trashing me and vilifying my country. Never more—Tom.

Harry   March 5th, 2010 - 12:07 pm

Hollywood Idiot!

RogerCfomSD   March 5th, 2010 - 12:11 pm

My opinion of Hanks is now too low to gauge.

Arrogance, thy name is Hanks.

DK   March 5th, 2010 - 12:14 pm

He is just another ignorant fool who has a successful acting career.

handicapman   March 5th, 2010 - 12:17 pm

When you run with the Hollywood elitists and have atained a level of professional success you begin to believe people really want to know what you think. That, my friends, is a huge mistake.

Janice   March 5th, 2010 - 12:18 pm

Boycott all liberal actors! Lets show them who butters their bread!

firefirefire   March 5th, 2010 - 12:19 pm

Add another hollywood liberal whose work I will no longer watch.
Thank God for Turner Classic Movies.

Alan H   March 5th, 2010 - 12:22 pm

Stick to acting Tom.

Wayne   March 5th, 2010 - 12:26 pm

Tom Hanks is a MORON. This president is absolutely the worst ever to set foot in the White House.

H2K   March 5th, 2010 - 12:27 pm

I think Tom is using same character descriptions that he uses when he pitches one of his films to one of the investors:
Tom: you the main character, Forest? He has this sort of wise and calm personality.

Same as Ron Howard. Both have heads up a.zz.

Objection   March 5th, 2010 - 12:27 pm

Hanks is a low-I.Q., politically-uninformed washed-up old man, hoping for one more “big” role. So what does he dare say about any black man or “sexual” minority?

meh   March 5th, 2010 - 12:28 pm

Go back to your make believe land.

Ajohn   March 5th, 2010 - 12:32 pm

If Tom Hanks wants to understand what a wise calm man is about he needs to read “The Real George Washington” The differences between Obama and Washington are stark. The “father our country” cautioned over 200 hundred years ago against the very thing that is happening today.

Sick of BO   March 5th, 2010 - 12:33 pm

Another Monica to BO.

DontTaseMeBro   March 5th, 2010 - 12:34 pm

They don’t get it. They just don;t get it. They live in a world of deception and their own serendipitous lies. It is easy to do so when you’re making millions of dollars a year … they tend to forget the little guy … or they grow to think you know what is best for everyone This isn’t Toy Story, Hanks! This is the real world!

demdicks   March 5th, 2010 - 12:34 pm

As a conservative this is where i feel Rush, Hannity, Levin and the rest HURT the cause of conservatism.
They need to wake up and stop their opposition to calling for boycotts, it is a one way war that we are clearly losing.
How many of you conservatives helped line this idiot’s pockets with your hard earned money so he can get a soapbox to RIP on you and your family?

doogle   March 5th, 2010 - 12:38 pm

Oh Tom, I USED to like you…

doogle   March 5th, 2010 - 12:40 pm

demdicks March 5th, 2010 – 12:34 pm

DD…Didn’t realize until now that he was “one of them”. Sorry. Tom gets no more of my $$$.

laughing   March 5th, 2010 - 12:44 pm

All you retards can’t stand it when a talented, intelligent person supports something you don’t. Most of you liked his acting and movies before you saw this video. Now you can’t stand his work because of his political stance? You’ve exposed yourselves as utter buffoons. You have a complete inability to separate any aspect of life from politics. Sad people. You will anger and wither yourselves away in your echo chamber without even knowing it. You look around you and think your in the majority because you can’t look outside your little Drudge box. There is not one single comment from the left posted in this circle jerk and because of that, you’ve deceived yourselves into a fusion meltdown. This kind of crap will not help the right. If the Repubs don’t regain the majority in Congress in 2010, it’s people like you who I will blame.

bill5321   March 5th, 2010 - 12:46 pm

Obama is a wise, calm man that acts like he has a 450 credit score.

FromMissouri   March 5th, 2010 - 12:49 pm

Just another reason I hope that when California goes into the ocean, it happens DURING the Oscars…The only sad part would be if there were any empty seats in the auditorium.

Buford T Justice   March 5th, 2010 - 12:52 pm

Big shocker! A guy who pretends to be someone who he’s not is fond of someone who pretends to be someone who he’s not.

Run Forrest, run! Here come the torches and pitchforks!

Keyser Sozay   March 5th, 2010 - 12:53 pm

I have not, nor will not buy a DVD, or been to the movies since the Iraq war. These people are incredibly stupid and worthy of one of my dollars. hey Tom KISS MY A$$ and the rest of you hollywood A$$HOLES too.

Eddie   March 5th, 2010 - 12:55 pm

I dared to think about making a comment but after reading these, looks like everything was well covered! I will add one thing though. Hey, Hollywood types, stick to acting because you suck at political commentary!

James   March 5th, 2010 - 12:57 pm

Obama is a wise calm man who uses Chicago style politics.

Hanks must have a prescription for pot. This is what happens to you when you smoke too much of it.

NEOFREEDOM   March 5th, 2010 - 1:03 pm

Tom you will be singing a different tune when you will be TAXED up the YING YANG and then some FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL !

testicular man   March 5th, 2010 - 1:06 pm

This doofus-(even though I do like his movies), should stick to making movies. A wise calm man? That has got to be the stupidest thing I’ve heard this week. Obama is an idiot for Heavens Sake!

daisie10   March 5th, 2010 - 1:06 pm

Tom is a rich man. He wants everyone to be forced to give. REDISTRIBUTION = no one any better off that any one else. Except him. I guess he thinks everyone is stupid and clueless.

Mr. Right   March 5th, 2010 - 1:06 pm

The possibilities for my entertainment seem to be shrinking every day. No Babs, no Alex Baldwin, no Sean Penn, No Pitt, Clooney, Sarandon, Danson, Redford,Burton, Damon and on an on and on and now no Tom Hanks. The next thing there gonna tell me is Yoda is a Democrat. Where the hell is The Duke when you need him.

pepito cojones   March 5th, 2010 - 1:08 pm

ed357–

Good one. Apparently good ole Tom Hanks is an even bigger stupid idiot in real life!

NewOrleansAnn   March 5th, 2010 - 1:23 pm

What a stupid piece of ship. He’s criticizing the MSM on MSNBC, and he’s blaming non partisanship in a super majority. Maybe he should keep his opinion to himself, and continue writing his USA hating movies.

laughing   March 5th, 2010 - 1:25 pm

I wonder if this comment will be posted? I posted a dissenting comment about an hour ago and I haven’t seen it. Censorship?

Muffintop   March 5th, 2010 - 1:26 pm

Don’t worry too much about it my friends. Famous people get a stage because regular folks are fascinated by them. Does anyone believe that Tom Hanks or Sean Penn is smarter or more sensitive than you or I?

Thankful   March 5th, 2010 - 1:26 pm

It’s because of morons like this that I haven’t been to see a new movie in over 5 years! I can be home enjoying classical music and jazz, or watching decent movies from the 40’s and 50’s on tapes and dvds instead, and happily not be contributing to the current crop of idiots and losers in Hollywood.

BTW, when I called my Congressman to say how I am opposed to ObamaNOcare, the response was, “So you’re opposed to healthcare reform then!” “No, I am opposed to the government taking total control of our healthcare and our lives!” These people, in Hollyweird and Washington D.C. just DON’T GET IT! We’re Americans, we love our freedoms, and we try to be basically decent people! God bless America!

comcass   March 5th, 2010 - 1:28 pm

I just lost all respect for Tom Hanks.

bhumble   March 5th, 2010 - 1:39 pm

I have lost any respect for Tom Hanks. He is a blind progressive fool!

And he did Band of Brothers? What a ingnorant fool to play the public like
a conservative.

Communisim, Socialism or Marxism is the answer Tom Hanks? “Sleepless in you Brain”
Think twice before paying to watch Tom Hank’s movies he makes or produces.
He’s another Michael Moore, just not as fat.

O'Really?   March 5th, 2010 - 1:40 pm

This is great! A fat, dumb broad who accurately plays a dumb, fat blonde criticizes the President and you are all in love. Hanks admires the President and you find all sorts of vile lies to write about him. This guy is a patriot who has done more for veterans of World War II than all of you dopes put together. What hypocrites you all are!

txmike   March 5th, 2010 - 1:44 pm

Mr Hankey does not know how to discern between wise and calm from pseudo intellectual and aloof. Get a clue Hankey and step away from the kool aid bar. While you are at it, you and Brokaw should stop pontificating about the plight of normal Americans because you have no idea and zero credability on what they are dealing with.

Your lover Obama is keen about redistributing wealth and you seem to have plenty since you just built a multi million dollar home in LA during a recession. So since Obama is so wise, start supporting Obama’s agenda and hand over at least 75% of your wealth.

I have lost all respect for Hanks as well….very disappointing. But I should have know better with him and his liberal leanings that have been well known.

Tommy boy I like you.But please don,t be a ass kissing holllywood type. You are ruining our good name.

Is Tom Hanks a communist like Obama? Even he must know that Obama beats Carter to become the worst president in history. The only other explanation is that Hanks somehow knows that Obama is a plant by an enemy of USA and that he is damaging the country on purpose.

Lew   March 5th, 2010 - 2:14 pm

Remember when Tom Hanks was a fairly funny comedian? Is he trying to make a comedy comeback?

He never even got the memo from the 20th Century that socialism doesn’t work so how smart could he be? The Unabomber was supposed to be smart too.

“American” – NO, we’re not all ignorant. But, smart or not, we want our country back into the hands of someone who LOVES his own country….

liberty   March 5th, 2010 - 2:38 pm

This useful idiot spends alot of time promoting the World War II Museum in New Orleans. This museum is an incredible museum but I have to think that the ones running it are usefull idiots as well. This museum is receiving 22 millions dollars in stimulus money….(while they are constantly sticking their hands out looking for donations). I have nothing bad to say about the large number of men and women that volunteer their time and money to help the museum, but this has been actor is disgusting! I wonder how much this hypocrit “student of history” gets from the museum for his contributions. And which history is he a student of…..Marx, Stalin, Hitler, Chavez, Che? This is shameful that a man who outwardly shows deep respect for the greatest generation is a leader of the stupidest generation.

skipper99   March 5th, 2010 - 2:39 pm

I think it was in the movie, where Tom Hanks line was__Stupid is as stupid does. A perfect example on his recent commentary about the enlightened one in the Oval Office. Plus a perfect example of Hanks own inept understanding of the affairs of our Country. Typical Liberal trash.

Gunny G   March 5th, 2010 - 2:40 pm

The Anti Liberal Zone

White guy   March 5th, 2010 - 2:45 pm

Tom I really enjoy your work,…too bad about the anti-conservative streak down your back. Hey Charlie Wilson’s war was a good movie. Who would have known it was a Liberal Democrat who funded and armed Osama Bin Laden and the Afghan resistance against the communist Russian invader, and eventually led to 9/11 yrs later. Funny how the Liberals just want to blame Bush for everything, as if thier hands have no dirt on them.

right in the heart   March 5th, 2010 - 2:53 pm

Another one bites the dust. This really shouldn’t be shocking to me, as I’ve heard him talk about issues from a liberal perspective before. It just sucks that these actors have grandstand on politics.

During the interview he mentions that he is hardly on the Internet and has only tweeted about the food in the green room. This is very telling that he has no connection to the everyday person out there.

When will the conservative actors step up and counter this stuff. I know, I know, they want to keep their jobs. But enough is enough.

Thank God for the growing independent film makers out there trying to counteract this machine and rhetoric.
