I’m putting my full support behind Newt Gringrich.

Ok, so he’s not the perfect candidate, but then neither you nor I are running.

I don’t even think he’s the best of the worst- I think he’s a fine presidential pick especially in this swampy political climate. And if you’re thinking Newt lacks because of morality issues, just know the DNC is playing you on your feeling that we need to be morally superior than them. They know we feel that way and are playing it to the hilt. Newt is a repentant Christian and I’m confident in his turn around- let’s just put it this way, it takes a repentant sinner to know one. Dems hold their own to a different standard when they go around calling a republican an unworthy adulterer. Perhaps you should seek counseling for your superiority complex.

A list follows of why I don’t think the other candidates have the presidential it factor:

Ron Paul – has a dangerous foreign policy. He seems to think that if the US admits our faults with our unwanted interventions, everybody will suddenly play nice with us. I know to the Paulbots I sound ignorant to the point, so let me put it in an analogy-
My neighbor and I aren’t getting along. But we are quite confident that a face to face confrontation would bring about grave results. So somehow we come up with the conclusion that it would be better to heave a hornet’s nest over the fence at each other. We come to our senses and decide the hornet’s nest wasn’t a good idea after all. The hornets are all now awakened and mad as hell. Because we came to our senses and admitted responsibility, is it going to stop the hornets from stinging us, or our friends and family for that matter? Since we are responsible, should we just let them sting us?

I’m all for admitting our faults but then slapping the sting happy bastards dead.

Also I’m not giving an inch for legalizing drugs. Sure nice to think if dopers would just stay home and poison themselves in privacy- but you know that’s not going to happen. I hate having my children seeing a polluted suss reeling down the street- on any kind of dope or drink. And you’re telling me you can keep them from behind the wheel as well?

Mitt Romney- The whole single payer socialized medicine thing has me realizing that this man will be carrying the flag for the progressives. I used to think it harsh that people would say there’s no difference between Mitt and Obama. I’m now convinced there isn’t. And why shouldn’t any “moderate” vote for him when they’d be getting the same thing from Obama? We might vote for Mitt if it’s between him and Obama just for the “R” after his name, but not everybody will vote that way.. Obama is a known commodity to them. Nasty, but known.

Rick Santorum- He’s a beautiful man with a beautiful family and a solid faith, and in a less turbulent political time I’d vote for him in a heartbeat. I’d be fearing for his soul to send him in to face what the next president has to face to bring this country back from the edge. It’s like sending a seminarian out to tell harden drunks why they should sober up and find God. These sick politicians in DC will deceive him, use him, rob him blind, beat him up and leave him for dead. Not that I care that much for him personally, but it would be worse for the country. We can’t send him down to the trenches to try to deal with these dredges of human existence we call politicians!

Newt is a seasoned veteran. He has been in the leadership role in Washington and has succeeded. He’s made decisions that have made us reel, and I can’t say he won’t in the future. But he won’t be used. He’s passionate about the country. And he’ll turn this ship that we thought was sinking around. Our best days are ahead of us.

I moved to Fla two years ago, this primary has proven to me that the Florida GOP, GOB actually (Good Ole Boys) is out to lunch! had Herman Cain not dropped out he would have taken this state by a landslide, that alone tells me that they have been spiking the water down here with something. I am so disgusted with the Florida GOB that after I vote for Gingrich this morning, I am switching party affiliation to Independent! And to be honest, I might just vote for 4 more years of Obummer over Romney! At least with Obummer you know what you are getting. It will take these brain dead, brain washed RINOS 4 years of Romney to figure out that he is a Socialist RINO!

I have to wonder if some are going to vote for Romney because they tend to lean liberal but feel too guilty about re-electing the failed Obama. So they will just vote for someone who is most like him. It would make more sense to vote for Santorum or Paul if one doesn't like Gingrich. But Romney? You can't be a conservative if he's your choice.

AFter being barraged with negative attack ads for the past week down here in sunny FLA, I was having a hard time deciding 'tween Mitt or Newt.
Then I decided to vote for the mature one: Rick Santorum. He's also a TRUE CONSERVATIVE!

Mitt and Newt should be ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES for putting the voters of Florida through their CRAPPY CAMPAIGN "strategy" of smears and mudslinging. IDIOTS.

I switched to Santorum this morning after watching more negative attack ads by the 2 front runnners, who frankly should start reassessing their campaign strategies.

History tells us that four years of a progressive Republican will either lead to four more years of a progressive republican or a liberal democrat. When, my fellow conservatives, will we nominate a conservative candidate?

And dont look to the TEA Party for answers either.. at least not here in Alachua County FL, all they can do here is fill my email box with 3 or 4 emails a week.. they sent out an email pointing out each of the candidates bad points, said they endorse no one, yet sponsored a TEA Party Express bus stop Sunday with the only candidate represented was a speaker from the Romney campaign! I just placed my vote for Newt, and will be switching party affiliation to Independent later this week! I am SICK of the GOB establishment! Hell, the RINO Attorney General for Fla, Pam Bondi was on TV two nights ago, BEAMING with her support for Romney! It was sickening! The only thing missing was the blue dress with the stain on it!!

No state taxes, few regulations, lots of retirees and young families and OLD money.
Now, I sure hope you like the patient affordability act. Cause mittens will do nothing to repeal it.
Personally, I think Santorum is the only conservative left in the race. But, a vote for Rick ensures that mittens gets the delegates.
As billyb pointedly stated above regarding the delegates, Newt has his faults, but when weighed against the other candidates, you must see that his positives for righting the ship outweigh his negatives. None of the candidates are perfect.
And this is no excuse to go negative, but mittens' campaign has been the serial campaigner since Iowa. Ask yourself how many ads against Newt have you seen. It is only in response to those, after stating he would run a clean and positive campaign and getting his arse handed to him in Iowa and NH, that Newt went on the attack.

I hear you but I have to say if Santorum had the resources and was truly in the thick of the race he would be on the attack just like Newt and Romney .If your hit you have to hit back, Romney opened up on Newt in Iowa and hasn't let up since ,in my opinion Newt had to defend himself by going on the offense . Every debate I've seen Santorum attacks both men so I don't see a halo around his head . Politics is a blood sport and the ugliness has been around since the beginning.

Heading out shortly to vote for Newt. I prefer Santorum but I have to vote for Newt! If I hear one more Anti-Newt ad from McRINOmney I am going to puke! I can't stand McRINOmney, when I see him on tv I want to vomit, same reaction I get from Obama!

First and foremost, we're ALL conservatives, so I am dismayed that my fellow Americans come through here giving thumbs downs due to a PRIMARY choice that really had little bearing on the end.

My vote was one of conscience, not actual choice. I thought Mitt AND Newt had good qualities, but both were acting like 2 kids on a playground that bloodied each other's noses.

If you don't live in FL, then you don't understand the BARRAGE we were subjected to. It made me sick that they couldn't lay off the attacks. We ALL want Obama out — period. Try being honorable. You don't have to strike back just because the other candidate is acting like a fool.

Don't misunderstand me I like Santorum. I'm just saying that I've seen him on the attack in the debates, so I don't pretend hes above the fray. The truth is for right now (anything could happen I guess) he isn't really being attacked because he isn't really in the thick of the fight, if Romney or Newt feared he had a chance & began attacks on santorum & he had the resources he would be just as dirty.
