But Pawlenty's comments regarding climate change and cap and trade with Janet Napolitano show such a lack of discernment that I just don't trust his judgment. If he was misguided on that, what else will he be misguided about?

The rest of the article attempts to "refudiate" claims and statements made anywhere from 10 – 40 years ago. I'm sure that there have been errors made through the course of examining climate change, and therefore theories had to be updated. It's really no different from any other research-driven field.

Getting warmer on what time scale, and what is man's role in causing the earth to warm? The planet has been warming since the last major ice age! And if you can't get into the videos, how do you know? And I doubt you read the pdfs attached, which have diagrams demonstrating that the left lies. They use the wrong data. For example, surface temperatures are statistically higher than lower and mid-tropospheric temps, meaning the greenhouse effect models the paid-hacks are using are flawed! No higher tropospheric temps, no CO2 driven climate change!

I feel like you keep trying to narrow the argument to make your point. Your original post said, in no uncertain terms, that AGW was a fraud. To my estimation, you haven't proven that. I understand the skepticism towards the theory, and I myself am not fully convinced that humans are having quite the impact that some would claim.
However, the Earth is getting comparably warmer over the past two centuries that we have been closely monitoring and CO2 levels in the atmosphere are going up, which is bad for humans. CO2 has extremely high toxicity in human beings.

One common theme in all of those articles however is that they are "unusual" and "bucking the trend" of glaciers world-wide. Also mentioned is nearly all the articles is how recent expansion of those glaciers is coming on the heels of decades of contraction.

I don't dispute the notion that some the glacial ice is being redistributed across the globe to a certain extent. However, none of those articles challenge the notion that the Earth as a whole is losing glaciers at a rate never measured before.

Bucking the trend, I just don't get where that was even a trend. The glaciers come, they go, they get bigger, they get smaller, it's the natural cycle of the World. It's all been blown out of proportion and has been for years. The only data I find valuable are the core samples and tree ring data that track temperatures over thousands of years, and all those show the temp going up, and going down, we have hot periods, we have ice ages.

Our last one was what, 18000 years ago, most of the sand and gravel on the east coast is all dug up from old glacier deposits, and guess what, North America will be covered with ice again some day, it's just how it works. So no, I don't worry that some scientists says temps have been going up for 20 years.

That is completely true and I don't dispute that. However, those core samples also show other things:

For one thing, they show that the percentage of CO2 in our (breathable) atmosphere has increased almost 40% in the last 200 years (from roughly .027 to.039%), and that is a very disturbing trend.

Additionally, they show much higher concentrations of harmful chemicals and poisonous compounds other than C02 both in our drinking water and in our atmosphere. Substances like mercury and other heavy metals which are really bad for humans and other animals, especially the very young.

Some of it was probably unavoidable as the industrial revolution didn't really stop to check what impact it was having. My only point is that given what we know now, it would be foolish not to change the way we do some of this things to prevent further damage and potential health-risks to future generations.

While that's fine, I accept we need to change the way we do some things, and trying to minimize our impact on the environment isn't a bad thing either.

What is a bad thing, a multi-trillion dollar ponzi-scheme run by the World Government, the UN, the NWO, whatever you want to call it, who says what we can and can't drive, what we can and can't eat (wouldn't want those cow farts to erode the atmosphere ya know) that think they know the answers to everything.

Like here's a great idea, lets promote green energy, and force people to buy electric cars….. that run off electricity generated by coal fired power plants! Not to mention all those electric car batteries that will sit in land fills and rot into the soil, leaving us with even more of those toxic chemicals.

Or hey, lets take 25 pounds of corn grown in the midwest, and lets turn it into a miniscule amount of ethanol and convince everyone that it's saving the planet.

Or lets save the planet by getting rid of basic light bulbs, the ones manufactured in China, with mercury, are SOOOO much better.

What is the toxicity level in human beings? A Wikipedia article (as laughably skewed as those are nowadays) on "carbon dioxide" says that "1%" will make a person "drowsy." What is the concentration in the earth's atmosphere? It is .039%. It is a trace gas, and the actual amount that man contributes to CO2 levels in the atmosphere is negligible compared to natural processes. Even if you implemented the most Draconian cap-and-tax system imaginable, the direct correlation of man-produced CO2 to predicted temperature drop in fifty years would be negligible – less than a 1 degree centigrade drop. And the laughable part? Scientists cannot even prove such a drop would be beneficial to the climate; in fact, man's quality of life could indeed be much worse. (See the historical records on the Medieval Warming Period.)

This is fun. I'm actually writing a book related to this subject and I've got literally hundreds of sources I can give you (if not thousands, including Climategate emails and files). A global average temperature change of 1 degree centigrade is NOT negligible. If the temperature of the Earth goes up a full degree in the next 50 years, half of this country will be under water.

I didn't say there was a "correct" temperature, but it is possible to calculate the average global temperature, both at a given moment and over time. Moreover, it is possible to chart changes and fluctuations in that average temperature.
