Well as a Mormon, let me tell you some of the things we believe. No alcohol, no beer, no smoking of any kind, no illegal use of drugs, no tea or coffee. No sex before marriage. We all have a calling, teaching, working what ever. (two year mission, which you pay for; I went to England) We have a song that says, “Put your shoulder to the wheel push aloonng, do your duty with a heart full of song. We all have work, let no one sheik, put your shoulder to the wheel.”

So if you want a to be a member of church where fun is just about outlawed, then come join us people, because I need a break.
BTW, we don’t believe in hell, and we don’t think everyone going to hell who haven’t heard of Jesus in their lifetime. We believe they can be accept the gospel in the here after, or not, still your choice.

I see the producers @ nbc are still mad over prop8.

Carolynn   December 15th, 2009 - 7:45 pm

That was a disgrace!

Senator Hatch wrote his song from a loving place
for his Jewish friends of which he has many.

In return a Christian religion is mocked.

When will they air the Christmas song of Islam?

Ty   December 15th, 2009 - 7:46 pm

Good enough! Funny and not offensive. I’ve been a Mormon my whole life and believe in all of it. It’s actually really hard to offend me or any Mormon that really believes in the church, but we are often bothered that other people that have no knowledge of the church would get the wrong impression because of a stupid skit like this. This one was harmless.

Checkers   December 15th, 2009 - 8:16 pm

The nasty Liberal fascist verman of Saturday Night Live disrespecting religion to smear someone who has a different point of view than their perverse view of the world.

Checkers   December 15th, 2009 - 8:17 pm

OOPS- The Tonight Show! Same difference!

c mon   December 15th, 2009 - 10:44 pm

maybe the tonight show wasn’t singing the song for sen. Hatch Maybe they were sing for Sen. Harry Reid Just a thought

Ren   December 15th, 2009 - 11:43 pm

I’m a Mormon and I think it’s funny and a little icky. Just what the Tonight Show does best!

Craig   December 16th, 2009 - 1:04 am

Hatches motivation showed class and his way of showing respect to the great Jewish Religion. Many prominant Jews have thanked him – tonight shows motivation was classless showing disrespect to a people who feed millions of the hungry around the world. Would that ever be mentioned even though it is a fact and going on for years. I know its a comedy show but come on, religion seems to be a redundant theme that is mocked and very tireing to people who see through the bias.

I grew up Mormon and…I think this has got Mormon humor. Those guys don’t drink, you see. When they put on a show of high lunacy and broad humor, they mean it and they’ve got it perfected, stone cold sober.

What you guys need to know is that the Mormon church, as I knew it anyway, is very pro-Israel.

What would Garrison Keillor say?
