Young Jackie is beyond a "child prodigy" …and they don't allow contestants to lip-sync. The critics are just that …"critics" …failed jealous singers. I think Jackie will be better than Susan Boyle.

Her appearance doesn't quite seem to match her singing voice, as even some on the show indicated, which could very well be the reason for the feeling of some of, "Wait a minute — is this for real?"

Assuming all things were done legitimately, that was incredibly impressive.

This is FRAUD! with a capital F.

What a mature voice for so young a person. Doubtless that voice has been coached for some time. Her youth and amazing voice reminds me of Bjork. I so hope fame doesn't ruin her.

They said the same thing about Charlotte Church. The first time I saw Church sing, I had a hard time accepting the dichotomy of a young girl with a woman's singing voice.

I think it is moments like this that God reminds us that our gifts are given to us by him. We all have talent yet we are all given this by our creator. Man can not duplicate what he gives us for beauty.

The performance was not dubbed. Her voice is mature beyond her years and that makes her situation very dangerous. The urge, after national exposure like this, is to hit the high gear, Julliard was probably on the phone before she finished with an offer most parents would not refuse. And every note she sings from now until forever will add scar tissue and callouses to her vocal cords

Me….I thank the judges, take the prize money, take my kid home, let her sing in the church choir, maybe release one song per year…if that, let her be a 10 year old kid, let her grow up, live her life and if Julliard is still interested when she's 18…off she goes.

People don't realize that vocal cords just like joints are vulnerable to any number of problems from over use, over reach and just repetition. Why do you think so many "tennis wonder kids retire so early?" Joints are shot!

If she is allowed to grow, mature and does not overuse her voice, Julliard will take her any time she calls and she will be singing with the Met when she's 40 or beyond.

It could be faked, but I don't think so…to pull that off she would have to be a better actress than singer…I think she's for real, beautiful…

I just hope she dosn't have overbearing parents who drive her tallent. A person is only a child once and for only a short time. She has 50 more years to become a famous singer. She has time, i wish her well. Bravo.

Jim Nabors had a much different speaking voice than what came out when he was singing….I don't think it was lip-synced. A great voice that should be preserved and treasured!!!

It basically will say the company owns her, her talent, her future, where she goes if she wins, what she cannot do if she looses, what she sings, to whom she sings it, what she wears, what TV shows she appears on ……….. her parents will probably just have to make do with the $$$$$ and let their daughter go ……..

Although it appears, as she was lip-synching, she is for REAL! Thanks to those for posting links to Jackie’s performances, it leaves no doubt.

Having had a father in law who was a musician in the sixties, I can tell you that pure talent, no matter how great is not enough to make it as a singer if you don't know the right people. This was a great way for her to gain world wide exposure and at this point I'm sure she doesn't even need America's Got Talent.

Interesting. We would've guessed the amounts for the winner and runner-up would have been more. The other interesting part of the contract is that "American Idol" isn't required to pay incidental expenses during the show's run.

At times her voice sounded like what you'd expect from a ten year old, but most of the time it was "wow! where is that sound coming from?".

When I first heard this it reminded me of Rush Limbaugh's bumper music. He had a opera star do this with the line "God Bless You Rush Limbaugh." He plays it every once in a while when someone requests it.

I've been in the music biz over 25 years.
My opinion is-
I've just watched about 7 other videos with her singing, and it look like she is FOR REAL!!!! I am completely blown away.

She makes Susan Boyle look like a pony in a horse race.

She is NO Susan Boyle. She is, by far, more talented than Susan Boyle. There's no comparison, really.

If this is truly her own voice, she's in for a tough time. People will be all over her to use her and she runs the risk of becoming another Sarah Brightman, who may have had operatic potential in the beginning, but who has turned into a 3rd rung big stage, big orchestra, big amplification commodity.
If she is a prodigy, she needs to be taken in hand by a serious teacher who will nurture her and not give way to all of the glitzy offers coming her way. Successful opera singers work and train for years and years before they are considered 'ready'.

Yes, If you look through her earlier stuff you can see her maturing and seriously working at improving her weaknesses. Also, to a trained ear, her TV performance was far from perfect. Don't get me wrong, it was simply amazing for a ten year old. However, if they wanted her to fake it, I think they could have/would have had her fake perfection. As others here say, I hope they let her continue to mature and her coaches make sure she is using her voice right.

On the other hand, this is exactly how Julie Andrews got her start (singing difficult opera pieces at the age of 6 if I remember rightly) and her vocal cords were just fine until a few years ago. Cross your fingers
