‘The Green Police’: Audi Super Bowl Commercial Envision Enviromental Future

JammieWearingFool: The scary thing is the environmental wackos would have you arrested for some of these "crimes" in the commercial.

February 7, 2010 at 6:03 pm - Audi
Dateline:
Rosey   February 7th, 2010 - 7:49 pm

Congrats…you’ve succeeded in me ordering DOUBLE napkins from now on. You’ll be hitting the streets huh? We’ll be there to hit back…idiots. Have you heard about the fraud involving the “green movement” and global warming? Keep wasting your money…in 30 years no one will remember your car.

Snailmailtrucker   February 7th, 2010 - 7:57 pm

The enviromentaldisorderists have destroyed the lumber industry in the Pacific NorthWest.
Incase you are unaware of the plight of the farmers in Caloifornia whose water has been turned off for months because of more enviromental morons because a tiny fish is endangered.
These insane people are just another example of the wacko liberal progressive left’s plan to destroy America from the inside.

I would love nothing more than to see all of the environmentalists on the endangered list!

MarcusP   February 7th, 2010 - 8:09 pm

Why don’t you kiss my freedom-loving backside!!! Whoever did these commercials is beyond clueless. Roadblocks, home invasions…too close to the environmental nazis’ dream come true. This is a small part of what was whirling through my mind when I decided to start buying guns and ammo. I’m glad they’re putting on these commercials; as I think they will touch off a nerve in the U.S.

Dave, Tn   February 7th, 2010 - 8:26 pm

Leave it to the freaking Germans to come up with some crap like this bahhahahahahahaha

Samllmailtrucker don’t worry once those people are forced to sell they’re land to Pelosi’s ilk they’ll turn the water back on.

kailuagril   February 7th, 2010 - 9:05 pm

The song selection by The Who at half-time was genius!

AFITgrad86   February 7th, 2010 - 9:38 pm

Scariest commercial ever … If this doesn’t tell you what’s on the “progressive’s” mind nothing will.

Teresa,MPLS   February 7th, 2010 - 9:40 pm

That was the SCARIEST thing I have ever seen! I have no doubt there are people who envision this for U.S.A in the near future.

SAM   February 7th, 2010 - 10:00 pm

MOST IDIOTIC COMMERCIAL!!! I WILL NEVER BUY AN AUDI!!!

nondhimmi   February 7th, 2010 - 10:08 pm

That’s it. My Segway is now up in flames in my backyard.

Joe Dirt   February 7th, 2010 - 10:12 pm

Audi just joined the ranks of Government Motors and Chrysler as the cars I will never buy. I’ve just issued a fatwa against. Allahuakbar, Allahuakbar!

Trouble coming   February 7th, 2010 - 10:16 pm

The most telling line in the commerical was, the cop who say, “Is this some kind of Joke?”

The Global Warming…err… Climate Change Lobby, is yes, some kind of bad joke. Unfortunately, that bad joke may cost us huge sums of $. 3% of the GDP sent to foreign countries, Taxes, higher prices, lost jobs, ceding govt authority to unelected UN bodies, etc etc etc. All based on potentially fraudulent data. If this is our future, we are screwed.

Note: RE plastic bags, the bags are made in the USA with a byproduct from the refining of oil that would be otherwise disposed of as toxic waste. Instead they created a useful product from a waste product.

Make mine plastic

Hooked on Obonics   February 7th, 2010 - 10:18 pm

It was a great parody of the hysterical “Green Movement”. I thought it made the point. You won’t see that on SNL.

demdicks   February 7th, 2010 - 10:29 pm

F&^K you ecowacko-tree hugger enviro-nazis!!!

Dave_in_OK   February 7th, 2010 - 10:44 pm

How long ago did they make that commercial? With all the science scandals coming out and professor Phil Jones at the center of climategate thinking about killing himself; no reasonable person or company can still believe in the climate change bull. But then when were they ever reasonable.

john   February 7th, 2010 - 10:47 pm

.

.

Well ain’t that the truth of it! That’s our future if the Enviro-Nazis Barbara Boxer, Pelosi, Waxman and Obama aren’t thrown out of office.

Global Warming is a fraud and those who continue to conspire and advocate for it are committing crimes against humanity for the poor who will suffer and die as a result of higher food costs and shortages. They have no decency or shame.

.

James K   February 7th, 2010 - 10:54 pm

Whoops, I just threw my can in the trash . . . which will be taken to the dumpster, collected on Friday, and taken to the city dump . . . right where it belongs, along with all of my paper, styerfoam, and plastic products.

prtee_uvno   February 7th, 2010 - 11:02 pm

audi is sending a very controversial message in a very unstable environmental for the “environmental police” your ad is irresponsible, divisive, and i guarantee will be counterproductive in their sales/marketing effort. the audi brsnd manager as well as the ad agency should be terminated immediately! that may be how you go to market in germany, but this ain’t germany! your superbowl ad did more to speed up toyota’s recovery from the brake componant issue than toyota could ever have done. no audis in my driveway . . . ever! i’ll stick with my toyotas, and kias!

fletch haigh   February 7th, 2010 - 11:05 pm

I DRIVE AN A4. THIS COMMERCIAL IS NO GOOD – DROP IT!!!!

Joe R.   February 7th, 2010 - 11:11 pm

Does that commercial look anything like liberty to you? Does that look like freedom to you? That is what communism looks like. This is what those dirtbag libs want. Let me tell the dirtbags this…when you pry the gun from my cold dead fingers.

LoneSurvivor   February 7th, 2010 - 11:13 pm

It’s after 11 pm here … 10 degrees outside … over 2 ft of global warming snow … I watched this, ran out and started my car so it can sit and idle in the driveway for as long as I want. I really don’t care about the gas. It feels good.

Shiori   February 7th, 2010 - 11:29 pm

Audi just guaranteed that their sales will be at a record low this year. It’s hilarious how they always try to portray ‘green’ cars as super bad-@ss; but if they’re involved in a collision they get crushed like a coke can.

Sorry hippies, I’m putting my teen behind the wheel of a big ol’ truck.

Kent   February 7th, 2010 - 11:31 pm

This shows how easily a socialist idea can turn into fascism and tyranny…reminds me of the book Liberal Fascism!!!

Woody   February 7th, 2010 - 11:44 pm

So, in other words, they’re just shedding the light on what it means to live in San Fransisco.

checkit   February 8th, 2010 - 12:44 am

That commercial convinced me to NOT buy any audi for life.

To be honest that commercial, told me Government take-over, intrusion, commun-ist dictatorship ideas, etc. All it did is remind me of the current administration and the way they have been trying to do a power grab on the people with another false claim like the Global warming, It ALL goes to $Money$ and Power over the people, period.

confused   February 8th, 2010 - 12:44 am

I do hope this was satire making fun of environmentalists… if not then it’s frightening what libs have envisioned for our future.

Doing my part   February 8th, 2010 - 1:24 am

I think I’ll go burn a couple of tires tonight.

Minuteman3   February 8th, 2010 - 3:44 am

The “green police” should know that my AR-15 ammo is loaded with smokeless powder, come to my house and I will show you. LOL

1984   February 8th, 2010 - 3:58 am

Anyone seen the movie 1984? Check it out, this stupid comercial has the stink of it. Green Police same as thought police. This commercial has the feel of a police state, like the Nazis in Germany. Bow down and worship our god mother earth, our new religion GREEN MOVEMENT or suffer our harassment.
I did not find this commercial cute at all.

raoul_duque   February 8th, 2010 - 6:25 am

This is a propaganda technique called “Predictive Programming.” It is used to “prepare” the people for actions to come. The goal is to desensitize the populace to the images of a police state. Even people who are enraged by this ad play a part in it’s effectiveness. The comments against this ad will generate oppositional responses in an almost equal amount of people. It’s a psychological technique, highly refined and very successful. Be sure of this one point. There are people hard at work, worldwide to bring this type of police state into being. The evidence is everywhere, in the open. Look at what has become of England… Surveillance cameras everywhere, neighborhood watch snitches, going through peoples garbage looking for “violations.” Folks on this board better wake up to what’s going on here, or you will arise one morning to find that you are a prisoner in your own country.

Mrs. Pennyfeather   February 8th, 2010 - 6:27 am

It’s like they’re unintentionally [or perhaps intentionally] campaigning for conservatives. Wow. Repealing McCain-Feingold really worked.

claspur   February 8th, 2010 - 6:54 am

It had Police State written all over it.

Mr. GJG   February 8th, 2010 - 7:03 am

This commercial seemed like more of an indictment of the “Green movement” then an endorsement.
They basically parody the insanity of the enviro-whackos while introducing a green car.
Talk about your mixed message.

Brubeck   February 8th, 2010 - 8:03 am

Didn’t this ad make you want to key a couple of Audis?

ACORN SEIU Communists   February 8th, 2010 - 8:05 am

This type of fascism is right on our doorstep.

anne can   February 8th, 2010 - 8:23 am

DISTURBING

Do they think they have enough ducks in a row that they can show their endgame?

Do they actually think that they (in their own little bubble) won’t freak people out with this commercial…with” cops” that act like nazis ?

This ad is wrongly placed, should be on MSNBC not red blooded super bowl.

verbatim   February 8th, 2010 - 8:59 am

I heard there is a move among some public utilities to put all consumer usage online for everyone to see, so that it will “shame” everyone into using less electricity.

George Orwell would be so proud.

Joe Doakes   February 8th, 2010 - 10:51 am

Every time I see a fouled up ad like this I wonder if they went to the local mental institution for the focus group. Have you krauts lost your minds? You used to manufacture the best “drivers car” on the market – sometime in the past you had the wrongheaded notion to become Honda. You can’t make a better Honda – they go forever. Get back to work building and selling the best drivers cars in the world. PS. I sold my german sports car and bought the new best drivers car on the market – a corvette.

SIGHEIL   February 8th, 2010 - 11:58 am

They thought this was a good advertising pitch? Seriously? They really misjudged their audience. Audi used to be one of my fav manufacturers, now, I WOULD NOT buy one. Maybe in a few years when they realize this kind of ad i a losing bet, and that their clients don’t like comercials glorifying fascist police state ideology.

Tigro13   February 8th, 2010 - 12:00 pm

Who knew that evil ignoramuses could produce a catchy yet ridiculously, annoying, and evil foreshadowing of Obamaland using a Cheaptrick song that I like. Well, after we defeat the envirofascists, we need to correct the history books and reveal them for the frauds and anti-Americans that they are.

Jeanne MacDonald   February 8th, 2010 - 12:17 pm

We thought it was the best ad this season – by far. We will buy an Audi the next time around. Congratulations for a green car award. And also with a sense of humor and for pointing out the duplicitious nature of the environment movement. We don’t need to adhere to a ‘green’ false-religion to buy green.

Joe Doakes   February 8th, 2010 - 12:20 pm

Audi,

Make an add that depicts a typical family traveling to a ski trip. They get to the snowy mountain. Get a guy that looks and sounds like Al Gore or even Al Gore. Put up a sign that reads “Watch Al Gore get chased by a Polar Bear $5.00″ Have Al Gore sitting on a chair with a hot chocolate – a kid walks up, the kid says, “Hey buddy I paid my five bucks get out there” Al Gore responds “After I finish my hot chocolate I’m freezing!” Cut to the Q7 and the latest deal. I bet you could get Al Gore to do it for the right price; he is after all, a politician.

Joe

Calvin&Hobbes   February 8th, 2010 - 12:43 pm

Hilarious.

Looks like the type mocking the Onion News would produce.

It shows how ridiculously stupid Algore, Obama, tree huggers, Copenhagen climate conference idiots are.

Desk   February 8th, 2010 - 12:48 pm

How is it possible that the humor of this ad is lost on the majority of posters? It’s obviously making fun of the green movement. My guess is that they developed the car before the green movement was discovered to be the farce that it is, and then found a clever way to appeal to new public sentiment while still selling their green car.

Joe Doakes   February 8th, 2010 - 1:01 pm

Desk. No Joy. Audi picked a mainly “Red” (pinkos don’t watch football they watch soccer) event to air the add in an era when a visceral reaction to global warming whacko’s is growing like a snowball. Had Audi ran an add directly mocking the Global Warming movement they would have succeeded.

Sean R.   February 8th, 2010 - 1:40 pm

When I saw this commercial ad last night, I said to myself, “Oh my goodness, this damn ad
is pure propaganda by Al Gore the liar and the eco-fascist”, and I’ve also said in my mind
that “if they pass cap-@-trade you might start to see these type of actions in our daily lives”,
boy did I ever put 2-@-2 together when I saw that ad. And as another poster here had said,
this ad is like the novel & the film “1984″ where “big-brother” is spying on you all the
time, and also folks don’t forget back in East Germany from the 1950s-1980s they had a
secret police government-agency called the “Stasis”, the stasis spied on the East German
citizens 24/7, 365 on whether the citizens where critical on the East German Communist Party,
and whenever the citizens where critical on the government, the Stasis killed, and
tortured them for being critical on the government. That ad reminded me a little of the
Stasis from East Germany back in the old days!

Liberalism is a Mental Disorder!!!

“A nation is identified by it’s borders, language & culture!”

Sandra D   February 8th, 2010 - 4:43 pm

OK guys I agree with Desk – you are taking this waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too seriously. I see this as an anti-green commercial. Yes – it is to sell their “green” cars they are required to design for the political ecofacist/terrorist hacks in our government – and it is marketing genius. I love it – My next car will be an Audi…

NOQTR4TR8RS   February 8th, 2010 - 6:37 pm

This commercial is a masterpiece. Depending on the eye of the beholder, it’s either wicked satire, or the Obammunists’ wet dream. I am of the opinion that it was intended to be comedy, and not an environ-mental-case version of John Lennon’s “Imagine”. I’m more than a little surprised, however, since I had thought that Christianity was the only religion permitted to be mocked, ridiculed and parodied on prime time TV. Islam certainly can’t be. I’m actually amazed that Al Gore’s Church of Climatology has now been given similar treatment to what Christians receive daily. And an agnostic, I consider myself to be a partial observer, FWIW.

LftCstCnsvtv   February 8th, 2010 - 7:56 pm

raule dugue has a point. It really doesn’t matter if you think it was a joke or if it was trying to tell you that when/if things get this bad owning an audie will make you safe – the effect of such advertising is that it becomes accepted at some level. It usually starts with mocking.

I’m not sure if social/political engineering was audie’s intent or not, but it really doesn’t matter if it was – the idea is being put out there.

And here I thought I could kick back and get away from the onslaught of political controversy for a few hours.

Seeing that ad was like a slap in the face.

rudy   February 9th, 2010 - 10:29 am

I took this commercial as wicked satire of the radical “green movement”. My dad did too and thought it was hilarious and made fun of the radicals out there. I think there is a difference between choosing to be environmental (buying a car) and having the government enforce it (the rest of this commercial as satire). In my opinion, if anything, the satire makes you more aware of how crazy the leftists are.
