These people getting hung up on Beck’s “clown” description, are obviously easterners. A “rodeo clown” takes on the highly dangerous job of drawing attention of the bull away from the thrown rider so he can be safely removed from the arena. The fact that he is dressed as a clown is the “show biz” element for the crowd. His function is to preserve the life and safety of the rider.

Bottom line. Rush, Hannity, Levin and all right wing hosts owe Beck HUGE !!!.. Beck has done more to engage the american public in the last year than all of them combined over they’re entire careers including rush!
I don’t know that much about Beck because I don’t believe in all that tribalism politics.
But kudos to him for drawing the line at supporting the birthers.
I agree with Beck that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
America…never…ever put your faith in a man/woman. They are human and subject to failure just like we are!
Appreciate what they do…but do not worship them!
There is only one to be worshipped and adored…Jesus Christ and HIM alone! He will never fail you and/or leave you or disappoint you!
Never!
A man/woman will…every time!
Being Republican fanboys has gotten us nothing but profligate spending when they were in control. 5 trillion deeper in debt due to Rush and Hannity’s Extremely soft criticism of Bush’s and Congressional Republican spending. Had they gone after Republicans on spending like they are attacking Obama’s spending we would have gotten less spending back then. Conservative talk show hosts stopped amnesty. Where were they on the spending. Just because Republicans were right on taxes doesn’t give them the right to screw us all with FDR type spending. 218 House Republicans voted for the Medicare prescription plan. The biggest spending program Since LBJ!!!! Sure Republicans are better than Democrats but that is a very low bar. My fear is that we put Republicans back in control and they go back to their big spending ways. It is very easy to be fiscal conservatives when you have no power. We need to watch these people like hawks and smack them down at the slightest move toward new spending. The days of me voting for Republicans just because they deficit spend at a slower pace than Democrats is Over! I have no problem staying home on election day.
Shawn Kelley not very bright are you or are you just stupid?
I take it you are another Republican fanboy Waffen SS. Point out something I said that was wrong. Is just that you can’t argue facts and need to attack. Did Republicans double the national debt in 8 years or not? You are just the kind of usefull idiot that the party loves to have on its side.
“But if he can’t see any difference between the Republicans and the Dems then he’s either not paying attention, which I don’t believe is the case, or he’s being disingenuous.”
He’s never said there’s no difference between the two parties. He’s said that they’re both bad, and they’re both taking us to the same place, but the Dems are taking us there faster. When Bill Bennett wrote that paragraph comparing the bright stars of the GOP with the lowest life-forms in the Dem party, he built a straw man: first by naming Repubs who are NOT in control of the party then by insinuating that Glenn refuses to distinguish between politicians.
So, hyperbole all around, and I’m down with that.
But Glenn is NOT gunning for the creation of a third party, and the effect of his rhetoric has most decidedly NOT been to inspire despair or indifference in the political system: quite the opposite, in fact.
Remember? Glenn’s first “campaign” was “We Surround Them,” which led to the 9/12 groups, which were followed by the TEA Parties, which were not directly organized by Glenn but were definitely inspired by him.
After people learned that we had actual numbers on our side, they began to rally. Glenn has been the mascot for many of the newly involved. He’s pointed people to books to read, topics to research.
And don’t forget that Glenn tried to find “Refounders” in Congress and came up with exactly 8. Some of whom, I’m sure, let him in on some pretty awful dirt about the GOP corruption, which makes it hard for Glenn to be nice to the scumbags.
Don’t judge Glenn by what his critics say about him: judge him for what he says.
The objective Rush, is to get the right people into office. Will Levin give the same advice to Rush about being a clown? Beck is right, this is done to wake up the republican party.

I applaud Beck for the history and information he disseminates. But if he can’t see any difference between the Republicans and the Dems then he’s either not paying attention, which I don’t believe is the case, or he’s being disingenuous.
Everybody who is anybody has admitted that the Republicans failed to live up to their principles when they controlled Congress and the White House. The lesson has been learned and we now have plenty of principled conservatives that have been jolted into running for office by this Marxist lurch toward the left.
Yes there are RINO’s in the party, yes they failed to lead, yes they foolishly believed that Dem-lite policies would win elections and they needed to be taken to the woodshed in ‘08 to wake them up. But Michael Medved said it best, no Republican president would be trying to socialize the country the way the Dems are.
