How can any American supposedly in their right mind – sane – listen to Calderon in earnest? As far as that is concerned, how did Calderon win an opportunity to deliver his “speech” to a joint session of congress as well as a state dinner in the White House with Barack Obama and other esteemed guests?
How many ordinary American citizens will ever have the opportunity to attend a state dinner? I will go so far as to say very, very, very few and no “average Joe” will sit in that dining room and enjoy a meal on his own ticket. If one looks back on the history of who attends these dinners it is apparent the usual guests invited to these dinners are celebrities, rich and famous or foreign dignitaries. Why not an average Joe from the middle of Montana, Alabama, Ohio or any of the 47 other states? Aren’t Mr. and Mrs. America good enough for one of these affairs?
Maybe the president is afraid one such guest may open their mouth and speak their mind. Oh, the humanity!
