Ted Danson Tees Off on Limbaugh & Religious Right

"The people of the people, Rush, one of us, yeah. Those are the people that really piss me off, to be honest. I totally understand people who are angry and are fearful. I understand people who church is a huge part of their life. I understand people not wanting their daughters to watch MTV. I understand and have empathy for all those people. The people that come along and make use of those people's fears and insecurities to make money or to make something, a position for them, you know, more palatable, those people are ... shame, shame."

Progressive   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:38 pm

Ted’s correct, Rush is an ENTERTAINER, if the sheeple of the right wing don’t understand that then they are more lost concerning politics than I realized.

Shiori   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:38 pm

All this from a Scientologist?! Hahahahahaaa! Who’s making money off your fears Danson? Xenu?

Lisa   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:43 pm

Ted who??? Oh yeah, washed up actor and lapdog for Clinton. That’s him. Joy can’t you get a more modern actor on your show that nobody watches except the clips posted here.

Stanley   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:43 pm

Progressive: Look who’s calling the kettle black! Ha! What a moron! Go drink some more koolaid stupid.

Desiree   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:44 pm

Why is what this balding has been has to say relevant????????? I think joy blowhard and ted are both wearing wigs.

RogerCfromSD   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:49 pm

Progressives and other such loons are so desperate to remain relevant. At maybe 20% of the population, they realize just how much of a minority they really are.

Ted Danson, I feel sorry for you. You bought into a science fiction cult and went on the twatenheimer’s show. Your star has faded and it must be dismaying.

That certainly describes Limbaugh!   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:54 pm

The word that you were searching for Ted was “shameless”.

kmichaels   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:57 pm

Both Joy and Ted Danson make a living off of the general population. But complain that Rush is not allowed to do so, since it is shame on him. Somehow liberals who pretty much dominate Hollywood making billions of dollars off of the public by selling them s-ex, drugs, violence, etc, but it is not ok for Rush to speak the truth to the same people. Liberals are foolish self-serving hypocrites with some serious sins dominating their putrid lives.

Progressive   November 3rd, 2009 - 2:59 pm

Notice I said that Rush is an entertainer so he should not be listened to by Joy, Whoopi, Ted Danson and of course my hero Penn, they are more than just entertainers. They are my Gods.

Walter Coleman   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:02 pm

Joy is feeding him the hate lines. Way to go Ted, you are an idiot.

lamchops   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:03 pm

This is the way washed up Hollywood has-beens audition for new work.

txmike   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:05 pm

Boy Behar and Ted pontificate the best they can with the limited and weak progressive minds that they have been given. I guess their gibberish makes perfect sense to themselves and like minded knuckle dragging progressives but to civilized society their rantings are just more liberal nonsense.

Mark   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:23 pm

I won’t even comment about these two paid mouthpieces for the Socialist/Marxists that are trying to destroy our country from within. But, I will say this. When your “Change and Hope” socialist revolution is defeated by freedom loving Americans you will find yourselves on trial for treason against the Constitution and people of the United States of America. You’ll be in good company though. Obama, Pelosi, Reid and all the other minions will be their too. It is unlawful to try to overthrow the nation. It is especially heinous if you do it from inside of the government from a position of “Special Trust and Confidence”, such as an elected official holds. You revolutionaries think about that real hard, OK?

Arie   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:26 pm

Both of them are repeating what the W/H has been saying, imagine that.

Talen   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:31 pm

“The people that come along and make use of those people’s fears and insecurities to make money or to make something, a position for them, you know, more palatable, those people are … shame, shame.”
You mean like Jackson and Sharpton?

Besides, David Axelrod implied we shouldn’t pay any attention to Rush because “he’s just an entertainer”, so I’m going to take that wonderful suggestion and apply it to this case. Thanks David!

claspur   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:31 pm

Oh Lord ! ?

Ted Dannon? I thought Oprah and Mary Steamvirgin had this douche wiped-all off our legs?

Stanley   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:33 pm

Ted Danson is irrelevant. He is an out of work Boob.

claspur   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:38 pm

We shant mention a wit about Ted Dannon’s hair and glasses-now, right?

Molecular Conservative   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:41 pm

They never understand that the packaging of the message makes absolutely no difference to us: Rush, the multi-millionaire poses the same ideas as Thomas Sowell; the author who is worth far less. Their individual net worths have zero impact on the quality of the message; they are both right!

If all the Christian right is doing is “playing on the fears” of the common folk then, let’s settle this once and for all:

Let the core Conservative movement and the Progressive movement select their five best apologist. Let’s get ‘em all on a stage allow for a moderated point-by-point refutation of each side’s “identity” issues. Let’s, in a very public way, “test” the efficacy of each other’s ideas and hold them up to unvarnished public scrutiny.

If this offer were ever “officially” made you’d have 50 of the most prominent conservatives begging for the chance to participate and all these mouthy, morally superior liberals would head for the frickin’ hills!

demdicks   November 3rd, 2009 - 3:46 pm

Is this the same Ted Danson who had to apologize at some “charity” dinner after coming out on the dias in BLACKFACE?
Of course his girl whoopie goldberg at the time said it was no big deal

IDIOTS, BOTH OF THEM!   November 3rd, 2009 - 4:06 pm

Is this witch trying to say that the chairs ‘they’ sit in, are somehow ‘news’? Do either of these has-beens get paid for what ‘they’ do, or are they doing it for the bubble, I think not!

It’s pretty sad when the host has to force-feed the answers to the guest, because the guest is so out-of-touch with reality, he can’t think straight! Hey, maybe his ‘plugs’ or his ‘rug’ is on too tight!
Joy’s a loudmouth a-hole who thinks that what she has to say is somehow ‘important’……not!

She is an idiot on the View (along with the rest of those b_tches (except the conservative) only low-class, unemployed, food stamp licking, cookie-eating, couch potatoe frumps watch that trash!

Puck 30   November 3rd, 2009 - 4:14 pm

Ted who? Oh, that guy from the 80’s. Has this new show become soo bad soo soon she is dragging out has-beens from the 80’s already?
Ted you were once a star, but you flame has gone out.

Limbaugh? Still shinning bright after 20+ years on the radio.

Who is Joy’s next guest? Edgy has-been rocker Lou Reed?

SubjectoftheUSSA   November 3rd, 2009 - 4:33 pm

Why is Breitbart even showing clips from this garbage show. Probably giving this wacko more viewers showing this here than she gets at night actually watching the show. Neither one of these idiots deserve any attention.

JCR   November 3rd, 2009 - 4:34 pm

Ted, Joy, You really should get out more. We who appreciate the truth expoused by Rush and others have beliefs, not fears. In fact BELIEF is the opposite of FEAR. Our beliefs are time tested and serve us very well. I am sorry for you if our simply stating ours beliefs pisses you off so much. You have a anger somewhere deep inside you that seems easily triggered at the though of someone with faith.

Robespierre   November 3rd, 2009 - 4:36 pm

Just remember, this guy slept with Whoopie.
Of course, Joy probably slept with Whoopie, too.

rax   November 3rd, 2009 - 5:05 pm

Ted Danson is going to lecture on morality?!?

Here is old Teddy in here blackface -> http://paunchstevenson.com/2008/02/12/another-ted-danson-blackface-photo/

Shame! Shame!

Chersty Alley   November 3rd, 2009 - 5:10 pm

Ted did sleep with Woopie but he also licked Al Gore’s nutsac and did this Bayhard skunkunt after the show… of course there’s not much difference between the three things. Really, honestly, who gives a smokin Obama felched up, corn encrusted tird what Ted has to say. He is soooooo 70’s. Honestly I thought the fart sniffer was dead already.

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   November 3rd, 2009 - 5:34 pm

America…Ted Danson is an ultra-liberal socialist Democratzi!

America…why do we support the Hollywood crowd repeatedly with our hard earned money so that they can use what little clout they have to trash us and our beliefs!

Hollywood is ultra-liberal! They are against everything that “real” Americans believe. They go from mate to mate, abort their young and use all their money for drugs and we support them!

I, for one, have been turned off royally from watching anything that any of these Democratzi mouthpieces have done!

The boycott of their works…is evident…Hollywood is hurting big time like the newspapers, and the Democratzi loving media!

They explain it as just a bad economy…but we “real” Americans know that what is hurting them is our refusing to be enablers of there unamericanism any longer!

We will never support your lunacy in Hollywood again!

We don’t need ultra-liberal Disney to entertain our children…there are plenty of other venues and theme parks to go too…and we have…and we will continue to do so!

So Hollywood…keep speaking up and speaking out against America and it’s people…we want to know who you are…so that we don’t waste our time and our money supporting your sorry butts!

Get a life…get a clue…you are being used as a tool!

lavoce   November 3rd, 2009 - 5:37 pm

Ted… Ted… Ted… Joy… Joy… Joy… you just don’t get it!

RUSH is MORE! MORE than an entertainer, adept at critical thinking, an agile articulator of CONSERVATISM, RUSH loves AMERICA, loves AMERICANS, loves his work, loves his employees – especially James Golden whom he allows to “pull in the reins” on him behind THE GOLDEN EIB MICROPHONE!

Besides all that, RUSH IS EXCELLENT at pulling back the dark shroud of LIBERALISM from demogogues so all might see!

RUSH LIMBAUGH – what’s not love about that man who LOVES AMERICA?!

Ted… Joy…is it true you two are Scientologists? I’ve been reviewing some of the recent articles here on breitbart.tv and want to make another couple comments concerning Scientology.

I’ve met a few Scientologists but none have ever bothered to engage me in conversation about what they believe much less attempt to persuade me to their way of thinking or belief. They’ve all been pleasant, dress nicely but not flamboyantly, and I can’t recall any gossiping about anyone else.

I have asked about the practice of auditing, and received no information apart from an elderly woman who demonstrated how Scientologists went to offer an “assist” to people after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, and when the tsunami rolled over into Thailand.

Waiting for medical help, or not, it was a way for the person to get in touch with their own spirit even if in a state of shock. It was a simple, non-invasive, kind, gentle touch of the flat palm of the hand to the extremities, while asking: (Scientologist)”Can you feel this?” (Recipient)”Yes.” (Sci…)”Thank you. Can you feel this?” (Recip…)”Yes.” (Sci…) “Thank you. Can you feel this?” (Recip…) “Yes.”

This elderly woman worked from my toes to my head in the demonstration, and not once invaded my privacy or overstepped the bounds. Now, was she a professing Scientologist? Yes – seemed to be. Did she demonstrate what she had been told they do or what she had actually experienced? That I cannot say. I thanked her for the demonstration, and left it at that.

In the past, I have had a couple of female Scientologists ask me pretty detailed questions about my life, and business, which I considered none of their business. I was able to simply step around the issues graciously without causing offense.

When I hear of physical abuse at the highest administrative levels, I consider that more than a grave cause for concern as to the true intent of the mission of Scientology – especially if the exhibited behavior has been witnessed, is well-known among those who’ve achieved access to the upper echelons, and if it is not being addressed out of fear of someone, fear for someone, or fear of some long-term form of retaliation for one or more individuals. That must be addressed.

As for signing away their future reincarnations, how would they ever know they were here before?

If there is any TRUTH in Reincarnation, why would GOD – THE ONLY LIVING GOD – have sent His ONLY SON? Why would THE LIVING WORD have become flesh, and dwelt among mankind, to live, suffer, and die at the hands of men for the sins of all mankind – including those of us living 2,000 years hence? That makes no sense at all.

No thanks. Give me my Bible, both Old and New Testaments, and that “old-fashioned religion” wherein lies TRUTH that will set men free, LIFE more abundant and free, and AN ETERNITY WITH THE CREATOR OF ALL THE UNIVERSES, AND ALL THAT THEREIN IS… MY CREATOR, and THE LOVER OF MY SOUL.

Ted… oy… the table you set before the people of this Nation lacks substance. Your words lack the ability to inspire men, women, teens, and children, to stretch – to reach for, and attain – higher levels of responsible self-government.

You won’t find me there at your table, ‘cuz I’m sittin’ with RUSH!

Tim   November 3rd, 2009 - 5:55 pm

OMG it’s Sam Malone….he was on tv and everything…bartenders have lots of wisdom…
Ohhh man, thank you Sam Malone for your valuable words of wisdom. I’m glad you could help me to understand that Rush guy. I DID NOT KNOW THAT! THANK YOU!

David   November 3rd, 2009 - 5:59 pm

Does Ted Danson realize that she (Joy) is feeding him things to say?? He comes across as an idiot. But Rush and the “religious right” is apparantly the problem. Those two need to get a life.

What do you expect from a low life who appears on a cable show where the star and show writer urinates on a picture of Jesus Christ and where Jews are demeaned by portraying them as weak shlameils.

Hitler would have preferred these Hollywood Idiot clowns to his propaganda minister. What these ignorant show people are incapble of understanding is that if radical islam prevails in America, they and the Hollywood big wigs who determine the images we see will be the first to have their heads separated from their shoulders.

Disobedience To God Always Leads To Disaster, ted!

Robyn   November 3rd, 2009 - 6:46 pm

Did Ted Danson really refer to himself and Joy Behar as “US” as if to put him on some level footing with common Americans? Let’s not forget that he is also worth millions. What an absolute joke. How insulting are these people and how irrelevant are both of these clowns. The LEFT are the ones who, to quote another blowhard, “prey on our fears” (as that pig Al Gore makes MILLIONS scaring people into believing the myth that we can do ANYTHING about climate change) The left rule by — and are ruled by — their emotions. Neither Joy nor Ted has political credibility. Behar couldn’t hold her own in a poli-sci 101 class. Useful idiots. And get this, they try to invalidate Rush because he’s an “ENTERTAINER”. So what does that make them? Rush is an “EDUCATOR” and you, my Hollywood elite friends, appear to be unteachable!

jp2feminist   November 3rd, 2009 - 7:17 pm

I can’t believe I just wasted a minute of my life watching that. Is it in Joy’s contract that no one can be on the show who might be smarter than her?

Rick   November 3rd, 2009 - 7:27 pm

1st Ted laughs then Joy becomes irate, Ted wants to blow Rush off as no big deal but realizes that the wrathful Joy is not laughing. So Ted tries to improvise anger a nice try but its not deep and its unprepared. The plot wonders and loses focus Joy is machine guning. Ted can’t keep up and hunkers down. I give it 2 thumbs down.

I haven’t seen one of these filthy libs make an actual argument against Rush’s statements or his world view. There is always this non-specific charge of “spewing hate” or whatever. Why not cite ACTUAL EXAMPLES of his supposed hate speech? How about arguing from an actual philosophical objective, as in why is liberalism a better answer than conservatism? What are the success stories of liberal policies?

Jeff fromTO   November 3rd, 2009 - 7:59 pm

Ted D is now the moral judge of all things good and right….oh brother!

Tony C   November 3rd, 2009 - 8:03 pm

Ted Danson WAS on one of the best 80’s sitcoms, mmm, mmm, mmm.
Joy Behar, IS a political moron, mmm mmm, mmm.

Off Duty   November 3rd, 2009 - 8:05 pm

Truth is, if Brietbart didn’t post this interview, very few would know about it. God bless Breitbart. Joy and Ted are pathetic low-life, leftie-loons. So…What else is new?

Seven   November 3rd, 2009 - 8:34 pm

Ted Danson is a racist.

He uses the N word and dressed in blackface for a party with his rich Harvard friends.

The ultimate hypocrite.

Mesndblues   November 3rd, 2009 - 8:36 pm

Most irrelevant story I’ve ever read…So Ted is angry because Limbaugh earns more money in a week than Danson has in his entire life..Hey Ted, sounds like Limbaugh is making his case better than you are..

CDRUST   November 3rd, 2009 - 8:43 pm

Words of wisdom from “Black Face” Ted, back on the where you belong.

Joe Ryder   November 3rd, 2009 - 9:09 pm

shane2813   November 3rd, 2009 - 9:24 pm

Ted who???? Marxist=Democrats=Terrorist all the same ask what’s his face ted.

LK   November 3rd, 2009 - 9:35 pm

She’s a BIG bore on The View and here too…

Does any thinking person actually watch this show or is it just people forgot to turn the set off when they left the room?

Pass The Remote   November 3rd, 2009 - 9:49 pm

The only way Danson and Behar could garner even momentary attention is if they made and executed a suicide pact on live television.

Ho Hum, are those Danson’s brains spattered on the camera lense? Yeah, I think so, would you check to see if Glenn Beck is on?

Mick   November 3rd, 2009 - 9:59 pm

You know that Rush is hitting the nail on the head when Axelrod, Gibbs, Danson (and all Hollywood lib-robots) repeat the same talking point: “Rush is an entertainer.”

It’s all they got! They don’t know how to respond to his arguments, so they try to impune his motives….ie., it’s all about money and entertainment.

Nice try Danson! Now let’s hear where Rush has it wrong, and why you think he’s wrong, Coward!

tj   November 3rd, 2009 - 11:05 pm

this tool was used by the environmentalists who have for years talked of the end of the world due to you name it, hunger, overpopulation, to global warming. so much so that he predicted the end of the world some year in the 1990’s. guess he was wrong huh! dumbass!

Switallas   November 3rd, 2009 - 11:09 pm

Ted the guy from Cheers? SNORE

EA   November 3rd, 2009 - 11:34 pm

Who the hell is this guy? And what credibility do his words have? He starred in a sitcom many years ago…that makes him relevant? Someone who’s opinion matters? It seems odd that an entertainer would say with certainty and superior judgement that another entertainer should not be listened to – because, for all reasons, the later is an entertainer. What a pompous ass…”…hi, I’m a has-been entertainer famous for one sitcom, and I’m saying that Rush, an entertainer consistently for 20 years, should not be listened to because he’s an entertainer…I know I’m an entertainer also, and not nearly as successful, but that doesn’t matter…what I say matters…” This is ridiculous.

Rebecca   November 4th, 2009 - 12:07 am

Molecular Conservative,

“..you’d have 50 of the most prominent conservatives begging for the chance to participate and all these mouthy, morally superior liberals would head for the frickin’ hills!”

That was an excellent point and an awesome observation!

Joey   November 4th, 2009 - 12:36 am

Come now Teddy, lets talk about fear mongering. Didn’t you say on Johnny Carson or Leno some years ago that we only have 10 years to address environmental problems or the world will come to an end??? Well its been about 15 years and we are still here!!!

Ted what are you going to do about XENU???

We Christians fight for what’s right and it not based on fear at all except perhaps fear of God and his justice. We certainly don’t fear the homosexual agenda or hate homosexuals, we do hate Marxism or anything left wing politically and economically. We just don’t want or accept such things. And we will resist whether you like it or not. And we will resist without fear…

Early Cuyler   November 4th, 2009 - 12:38 am

He’s a rich, white, spoiled leftist elitist!!! Driving a Prius!!!

Ted needs a job!!!!! Cocaine cost lots of money!!!!

Wankers   November 4th, 2009 - 7:28 am

I haven’t cared about what Ted Danson thinks since he left Cheers. Who cares what his opinion is? And Joy Behar? What a schmuck…

Nanapan   November 4th, 2009 - 9:27 am

Geeezeeee! Could a news network really be that desperate to fill a time slot with Joyce Behar! I only saw this interview because I watched the clip. What a waste of time that was especially with Ted Danson. OMG, who cares what he has to say, never did and never will. And Joyce, lol, she’s the biggest goof ball on TV. Why would anyone waste an hour of their time to tune her in. Tuning her out would be the best way to go!!!!

Steve   November 4th, 2009 - 2:49 pm

Does anyone find it ironic that this “entertainer” is labeling another an entertainer and not to be taken seriously? Ted, you said about 20 years ago the world had 10 years to survive if didn’t buy into your extreme environmentalist views. How can anyone take you seriously? Go back to your mansion in Hollywood and continue to be a part of “us”.

hypno13   November 4th, 2009 - 3:09 pm

To bad those two idiots don’t stick to entertainment.

Marc   November 4th, 2009 - 6:29 pm

Oh yeah…..Ted…..let’s see, we’re supposed to believe that he is “one of us.” Yeah….he and his millions of dollars are “one of us.”

And Joy Blowhard? Please, don’t get me started on that piece of dung.

Sad this is that one day, both of them will be living with Obama, Osama, Hitler, and the rest of the Godless.

exeal   November 5th, 2009 - 12:31 am

Ted Danson criticizing the religious right? That’s amusing coming from him… A man who dressed in blackface for a Friars Club roast ceremony. A man who used the “N” word more than a dozen times that evening. A man who the head of the Friars Club felt the need to issue an apology the following day because they were embarrassed.

Excerpt from an article about Danson and his blackface performance:
————-
“…Danson’s routine fell short of comical for many of those attending the annual closed-door affair in the grand ballroom of the New York Hilton. Celebrities on hand who stared in disbelief when Danson entered in blackface included dais guest Jasmine Guy, Sugar Ray Leonard, Shari Belafonte, Vanessa Williams, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Anita Baker, Beverly Johnson and Mr. T. Others in attendance included Michael Douglas, Robert Guillaume and talk show host Montel Williams, who stormed out of the ceremony”.

Entire article can be found here:

A picture of Danson in his blackface can be found here:

And he actually has the nerve to criticize others? No, I don’t think I can take Danson seriously… He lost all credibility a long time ago.

Timothy   November 6th, 2009 - 11:54 am

I don’t think he does understand the people who go to church, who disagree with him. As if all those on the religious right prey on the gullible of the right. Who is he kidding, pretending to be this enlightened person who’s above the fray when he’s in the thick of it. Preying on insecurity and exploiting conceits.

Oh, he’s a scientologist you say?
