He was ALREADY IN THE SYSTEM as a suspected terrorist and when he went through airport security he should have been apprehended on the spot and never been allowed to board the plane in the first place, even if he did get on the plane in another country. I also realize that other countries may not be as adept at stopping suspected terrorists from breaching airport security and boarding planes but HOW ON EARTH was he allowed to get a “United States” visa to begin with if he was ‘already’ in the system as a bona fide terror suspect?? Ok in the link above we have a married couple from Michigan, both attorneys, saying that Mutallab was escorted onto the plane by a well-dressed individual that convinced airline staff to let Mutallab on the flight without a passport. The well-dressed man claimed Mutallab was from Sudan, even though he was really from Nigeria.
This is starting to look like another half-baked False Flag. Great! Like 9/11, I’m sure a lot of the surveillance video will just happen to be seized by the authorities and unavailable for the public to see. As a frequent flier, I can say that they go over my belongings pretty carefully, but I cannot say they took any extra face time with the middle eastern looking men on my flight. Americans are calling for PROFILING, yes, that is the correct word to use. They want security measures that target those with the highest probability of being terrorists. Yes, that includes Muslims, Arabs, Palestinians, and those with roots from the Middle East and North Africa – oh yeah, and those who are already on watch lists because of their behavior. Why is this not being done, even though it is the most efficient and effective way to counter terrorism? Because those in power have too much empathy for those who would be targeted for closer examination. They have decided to sacrifice the safety of Americans for the comfort and tranquility of a few, many of whom sympathise with the enemy.
If the empathy and political correctness continue, the enemy will succeed with progressively more and larger attacks. Imagine a nuke in NY or DC, a Beslan massacre in a school near you. This will eventually result in an anger and desire for retribution from the American people not seen since WWII. Obama’s ilk will not retain power in the world they create. In the end the profiling will come, along with frustration, anger, and retribution – the result will not be pretty for either side. Unless a rational approach is taken soon we will see a war that deserves the moniker of WWIII. Calm will only come after hell has been visited upon Earth. If there is true empathy for innocent Muslims, rational profiling now is in their best interests, because if it comes later it will include much more than an extra pat down. There will be deportations, holding camps, monitoring, interrogations, registrations, pledges of allegiance, restrictions from sensitive positions, restrictions from ownnig weapons, closing of mosques, censoring, and yes, executions. Those will be the small steps that occur in America, what happens outside of America will pale in comparison to what Bush did after 9/11. Imagine the destruction of Mecca and Medina, nuclear bunker busters in Isfahan, Natanz, unrestricted assassinations, etc. Imagine what Israel does today times 1 million and you are imagining the world that Obama creates.
For Napolitano to say the system works is a true indication of how out of touch this administration is. It is clear that the only thing that worked was the quick actions of the passengers. They did didn’t they? The new flight restrictions were put into place almost immediately, and the bombers origins were traced within 24 hours.
Second, even the TSAs security measures worked, because the device hidden in this person wasn’t capable of detonation, even if it had “worked”, and 2, the explosives in the underwear were less explosive than gun powder. The TSA doesn’t search for non-explosives, or faulty electronics, so this non-bomb was allowed to pass through.
Lastly, the scottish/Danish/foreign passenger that “saved the day” wasn’t the first to react, merely the first to realize that the Nigerians intent was malicious. So him grabbing and subduing a man with no weapons or explosives hardly makes him a hero, as he undoubtedly had the support of all the surrounding passengers while risking fisticuffs with the “terrorist”
So in summary, you are blaming napolitano for an attack that didn’t happen, nor could have ever happened, that has nothing to do with her immediate agency, and then calling her a liar for saying that the post incident measures were successful, while at the same time suggesting that those measures should have been in place beforehand.

When the fire department arrives at the scene of a fire, their success or failure to extinguish the fire is based on their response plan and capabilities. But response is only one piece of the pie. Napalitano was happy with the response. Had the terrorist been successful we would have had to witness a horrific recovery process. The part that failed was mitigation. Does Napalitano get it? The screening process should be designed to identify passengers who are trying to bring something on-board the plan to cause harm. But it goes beyond mitigation at the gate. A network of available information should also be screened during the issuance of the airline ticket. As I understand it the terrorist’s name was already flagged and should have alerted someone to look a little closer.

Oh, relax, people! You’ll be safe on a plane. You might have to sit in pee and poop because passengers won’t be allowed to go to the bathroom for an hour before landing, but hey, that’s a plan. Thank God the bomb failed. While the media made a “hero” story out of the passenger rushing the terrorist, the truth is if the bomb had detonated, it wouldn’t have mattered how many people jumped on him. In light of a failed bomb, I doubt that the (presumably) trained crew would have had a problem subduing the then-unarmed terrorist in a closed plane.
Making a hero out of the passenger who jumped on the guy is a diversion from the real problem: A terrorist got on an international flight without a passport, he was on a “list” of suspicion, and his own FATHER warned of his son’s radical Muslim conversion. If the bomb hadn’t failed, the so-called hero passenger simply would have been blown up a few seconds sooner than other passengers. I, for one, would rather passengers stay out of it if an obvious or suspected act of terrorism is in process. Now, the case when the plane went down in Pennsylvania was different; that was preemptive bravery without advantage of experiential knowledge–much different from jumping on a terrorist AFTER a bomb failed to detonate. The smoke and flames alerted only because of a FAILED bomb. At that point, the present danger was a fire that needed to be extinguished and the crew needed room to act, without passengers interfering.
For Napoliano to say the system worked is her latest psychotic break from reality (the most memorable being about veterans). The system worked about like all the other systems this administration continues to shove in our face and try to convince us is working well for us. It is indeed scary if SHE believes the system worked flawlessly, but I suspect this is akin to trying to put a handful of shaving cream back in the can. I’m sure if she had been sitting next to the guy on that plane, she would have had a different perspective; however, she flies by private jet at taxpayers expense, so what’s it to her? It’s that same thing as Congress holding onto a health care system just for them. Everyone in Washington should be forced to fly commercial and to use the same health care that the rest of us will get. Without that, these people are completely out of touch with how their “bright ideas,” or lack of them, affect us.
