WTF?! The causes for the returning troops and the unfortunate PTSD is not applicable to a retired Grandfather who is ill. OMG! These are our LEADERS?!
TERM LIMITS NOW ACROSS THE BOARDS! VOTE AGAINST ANYONE WHO”S BEEN IN THEIR POST FOR MORE THAN 4 YEARS! Both with an R or D!

Did Congressman Kratovil even pay attention to this child’s question?

It seems to me that this is typical of our elected representatives……….

Congress only hears what they want and Congress only does what they want.

These fools can only spew back focused group approved talking points regardless of the question.

Sweep them out of office starting in 2010 and finish up in 2012. Replace every one of them with someone else. All 535 need to go home and live in the real world for a while.

Of course by the time 2010 rolls around most of the 95%’ers will have forgotten all this and will just go out for some more beer and cigs and complain about the lines at the polling places slowing down their beer run.

That is why this stuff is being pushed so hard, to get some dead time for the masses to forget before the elections. Never fails. If the election were held today it would be a rout but in 2010 it will be a new game altogether.

Seriously, how long are we as a nation going to put up with these morons?

   August 6th, 2009 - 2:28 pm

Cared for with Health Care? The “Health Care” being doled out is pretty unhealthy. If you go to the doctor they will try to FIND a reason to put you on some form of pill so that 1) the pharmaceutical company will give them kickbacks and 2) the politicians can take away your guns. They have the whole system rigged, folks.

This also illustrates the long term costs of WAR (funny thing for such a “Christian” nation to engage in, huh?). Now we are obliged to pay for this guy’s health care (that may or may not even be necessary)?

These wars for Israel in Iraq and Afghanistan are shams.

That was a Freudian slip.

When the Obama a$$holes sit down to talk about Healthcare behind closed doors, this is how they talk to each other.

“Oh and don’t forget,” says Frank Kratovil, “the costs won’t get that high, because a lot of these stupid voters will kill themselves.”

That’s how they think and that’s why socialism is a mental disorder.

“Quote” Obama…

“With Sonia Sotomayor tilting the balance on the court,” he said, “some day police departments nationwide will be staffed with officers who know a Harvard intellectual when they see one breaking into a house. To paraphrase Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I have a dream that one day a man will not be judged by his apparently illegal actions, but by the color of his skin and the content of his curriculum vitae.”

This black racist president wants her in the Supreme Court to destroy it, with an egotist’s resume’ (curriculum vitae), he drafted.

What a stupid and insensitive way to respond to a yooungster’s question about government’s plans for his loved ones!

It’s obvious the Congressman has been working too hard and needs some time off. A >>LOT<< of time off. Perhaps the kindly folks of his home district will give him some much-needed R&R when his term is up.

I believe that a person’s life is their primordial property, and that no one trumps yourself regarding your decisions about the purpose or use or disposal of your own life.

Therefore I completely defend Congressman Kratovil’s basic human right to commit suicide if he so wishes.

poettopoet – please do not post that summary – it was compiled by an idiot – I am not in favor of this healthcare bill but Iam also not in favor of fearmongering either – I READ THE WHOLE BILL – there are no provisions for the governement to execute an order to end your life, there is a provision requiring end of life counseling and for us to have a living will – there are no provisions granting the government access to your accounts, there are provisions that allow for electronic payments to healthcare providers – I have no idea how the author of this summary made some of the leaps he did but he very, very wrong
The government is trying to artificially lower healthcare costs without examing the reasons for the costs – can’t be done without looking at the root cause – our usage – in America we bear the brunt of the world’s medical research and we use our healthcare system more than any other country in the world (if you drive the car more, you spend more on gas, oil and tires) and we have obesity, smoking, teen pregnancy, abortion, immigration (legal and illegal), violence, drug use and other factors that unless addressed and factored in to the equation we will never be able to reduce our costs.

You think all conservatives are Christian? What a huge generalization. You’re an idiot. Maybe those liberal pro abortionist will get theirs, eh? Go away…

H2K   August 6th, 2009 - 11:55 pm

Bill Folden,
There are plenty of ways to get the healthcare system under control by allowing people to buy health insurance across state lines. This should have been addressed by inter-state commerce laws before. This would increase competition and lower costs.
Also, ensure illegal don’t get free healthcare. This would lower the burden on our hospital systems, ultimately reducing costs for paying customers, which would be reflected in lower insurance rates. Place a cap on malpractice judgements. This would lower the cost of malpractice insurance premiums to the doctors, who would order fewer unnecessary tests and would drive down helathcare costs.
The way not to do it? Give free healthcare to illegals. Subsidize a government public health policy at the expense of private policies. Government doesn’t have to make a profit, so they can “afford” to offer unrealistic premiums which will drive the privates out of business and leave no competition. Let malpractice judgements continue to climb – thus lining the pockets of lawyers and driving your premiums up – a la John Edwards.
As to your incoherent thoughts on Christian motivation, I have no clue of what you are talking about. Most Christians I know are motivated to help their fellow man and give unselfishly to charity.
I personally don’t see anything Christian about a government demanding your money to be churned through the federal machine and ultimately used to enhance a current politician’s power base by buying votes. I do see people with more money in their pockets voluntarily giving back some from the heart to help people in need.

If a returning soldier is not getting the “kind of help” he needs for PTSD, then what this congressman is saying is that the healthcare that the government provides for their military, will be at least as inefficient as the health care they propose to offer civilians. All members of the military and their families, are in a government run healthcare system.
If a soldier isn’t getting the help he needs, then we have just learned something of what we can expect from a government takeover of civilian healthcare. If the VA is a system we can be proud of and emulate, especially after the Hepatitis and HIV cases caused by unsterilized colonoscopy equipment came to light, then we need not be concerned with the kind of quality standards of healthcare that our government already gives to our active duty and veterans, coming our way. His response was odd, but very telling.
