There may be some truth to Steven Chu’s statement although not in the way he intended. The current BP oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico may indeed result in Obama’s waterloo i.e. a crushing defeat for Obama with all hope once and for all “dashed to smithereens” of any reelection win for him in 2012.
