Specter Tells Sestak to ‘Name Names’ Regarding Alleged White House Job Offer

“There is a specific federal statute which makes it a bribe to make an offer for a public office and when I was a district attorney if somebody came and told me that, I would say, ‘name names, name dates, name places.’ That’s a very very serious charge, it’s a big black smear without the specifications. But I’m telling you it is a federal crime punishable by jail, and anybody who wants to say that ought to back it up."

These are the same people that exempted the whole state of Nebraska from having to pay the Feds for their medicaid.

Offering the job would’ve been a good strategy to try to avoid a nasty primary fight (Toomey’s already ahead of both Dems in the polls). Hell, I thought a good strategy for Obama would be to appoint Hillary to the SCOTUS when its first vacancy during his administration occurred; that way he’d be sure she’d never run against him!
