"The process dictates the quality of the legislation that will emerge and I think what has unfolded based on all of the sweetheart deals is an indication of that."

Thank you Senator Snowe for not caving in so this can be a “bi-partisan” vote. I’m glad you voiced your concerns on MSNBC. Perhaps now the alarms regarding this bill will get through to the masses. Thus far, Democratic legislation under this administration is war against the freedoms of the American people. Health care is just the trojan horse to “fundamentally transform” America and take control of us by giving the government control of our lives. Czar Ron Bloom foretold our future when he said, “we believe that power comes largely at the end of the barrel of a gun”. Health Care is a pretty big gun being held to the heads of Americans by Obama and his thugs in Congress. Wake up America, call your senators and congressmen and women.

Roy Guscott   December 23rd, 2009 - 7:01 pm

ANYONE who voted this carrion carcase of a bill either thru the Senate or the House should be lined up against the wall- or at least ” put to the queston”

R from ID   December 23rd, 2009 - 7:05 pm

What’s the matter, Senator, didn’t your liberalism get you the .pay off you wanted? Are you a bit jealous of Senators Landrieu and Nelson? You sold out and didn’t get paid. Maybe with more time you can get your own sweetheart deal.

You have been around long enough to know what was going to happen. You are not that naive.

You were one that helped create this mess, Senator Snow. Maine should fire you, but I’m afraid they won’t. And you know it, too.

DrEdu   December 23rd, 2009 - 7:30 pm

THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!

THANK YOU SENATOR FOR BEING BRAVE AND FOR PUTTING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE BEFORE ALL THE PREASURE THEY PUT ON YOU, AND SPECIALLY FOR NOT CAVING TO THE BACKROOM DEALS.

WELL DONE WOMAN!

happy   December 23rd, 2009 - 7:34 pm

Welcome to the real world, Senator Snowe.

copperpeony   December 23rd, 2009 - 7:36 pm

I SOOOOOOOO agree with the words that RfromID said!! Thats exactly what happened and now Snowe thinks she can keep her job? Think again you traiterous fool.

Hey, Olympia baby!   December 23rd, 2009 - 7:38 pm

Nobody cares what you think, RINO. And nobody watches msnbc. And ALL the Dem senators are scumbags, just sayin’.

Hey, Olympia baby!   December 23rd, 2009 - 7:39 pm

Dear moderator—moderate my ass!

RogerCfromSD   December 23rd, 2009 - 7:57 pm

It BETTER be a No vote! Damn, Snowe, if you can’t see how blatantly unconstitutional and invasive and onerous this bill is, you have absolutely no business being a Republican.

SteveZ71   December 23rd, 2009 - 8:08 pm

I don’t give her credit at all…we wouldn’t be getting this fruitcake of a healthcare bill if she would have just voted NO to have it go on the floor to be debated. She could have stopped this from the start but she was ignorant to even trust the dems. from day one.

cs   December 23rd, 2009 - 8:10 pm

Additional 1% in Medicare tax would really kill small businesses! We are already undergoing uncertainties with the state of the economy! So Congress and the administration wants to add higher taxes! What happened to common sense? No new jobs will be created in the private sector, if we cannot plan ahead.

For once I admire Senator Snowe’s tenacity in getting answers. Every other senator seem to be in the dark, particularly the democrats, and yet they want to ram it through. If the full bill is not available to the senators, what are they debating? How could anyone approve a bill which has not been written, with provisions being revised everyday? What happened to the normal process of thoroughly reading, and understanding, a bill before voting for cloture?! Rush, rush, to get the the folks pay into a system the “benefits” of which won’t kick in until four years later?

Grotesque is right! THAT is a good description of this monstrous bill.

Obamadumbaclaath   December 23rd, 2009 - 8:18 pm

Fox4Me   December 23rd, 2009 - 8:52 pm

Believe it or not, the MSNBC replacement guy for Keith Olberdork was really bashing OBAMA tonight for telling some huge lie today. He was even showing clips from previous Oshyte campaign speeches that proved the -O was lying.

I finally believe in climate change…in He|| at least…cause I’m absolutely positive it’s snowing down there right now.

anne can   December 23rd, 2009 - 9:20 pm

You lay down with dogs you get up with fleas. We are calling the exterminator for you Ms Snowe

Gandhi's Fist   December 23rd, 2009 - 9:22 pm

Socialist boondoggle. Snow knows the impending legislation would have ended with certainty, her political career. If you all remember, she was on board with the “public option”. Now the RINO sees the political cost of the so-called health care bill. I’m way less impressed than I am with those who knew dems can’t help but raise taxes, no matter what it is they get their hands on. They don’t want to wait till 2010 so they’ll have a chance to spin this odious bill to try and salvage their powerbase. Or, at the very least, get ACORN to steal more votes.

Harry Reid   December 23rd, 2009 - 10:27 pm

Dear Ms. Snowe,

It’s never too late to try to get your own sweetheart deal of a bribe.
I’ll do whatever it takes to get you back on our side.

Your buddy,
Harry

Suvrec   December 23rd, 2009 - 10:52 pm

is it true that the WH has ordered a doubling of each of the 60 Dem Senators guards over the next twelve hours?

Roger   December 23rd, 2009 - 11:51 pm

A day late and a dollar short! If you didnt let it get out of the commitee and dint do the John Kerry (I voted for it before I voted against it)

Roger   December 23rd, 2009 - 11:57 pm

Gahndi’s Fist.
She is not a RINO, that gives a bad name to the other RINO’s. I dont know what to call her. Maine is such a beautiful state, but I cant understand why they would elect such an ugly women; inside and out.

This is all just for show   December 24th, 2009 - 12:21 am

It was her vote earlier that got this health care trash pushed forward to where it was now. If she voted no on it earlier it would have already died. She can now not vote for it (fully knowing her vote is not now needed to push it forward) and say “hey, I voted against it”.
Its all for show.

this next vote needs 60 votes which the dems have, but the next one after that only needs about 54 or so. This will allow the non-needed votes to be used by those dems that are in trouble over this as far as re-election, so now those few dems will have the OK to vote against it on the last vote so they can tell their voters… “I voted against it”

This woman went against the republicans to push this bill forward, she alone could have stopped it, Do not fall for the POLITICS! She is totally for this bill and now is not needed, now she thinks she can have her buddies on the dem side and come to us and say she is against it. She is full of cow dung.

forusall   December 24th, 2009 - 12:25 am

Honorable mention to senator Snowe. I suspect several others will vote no for the same reason, or say for the same reason only to save face in hopes of re-election. I hope and pray it does not pass but fear that it is so planned out like the stimulas boondoggle. The rush to vote is simply to keep momentum. If only George Washington was here today he might very well field another valiant charge to save our country. When someone finally steps up to lead against this corruption, will he or she simply be labeled the big “T” word.

IDIOTS, ALL   December 24th, 2009 - 12:36 am

What did any of those voter-idiots EXPECT who supported those Congress-IDIOTS who pulled all this cr*p??? Now we will all have to fight like he11 to turn this monstrosity around!

Thanks for NOTHING, especially at the most sacred time of the year–and yes, America IS a Christian nation! The fact that they pulled this stunt at CHRISTmas time just underscores how entrenched they are in the army of the ANTI-CHRIST!

Haha!   December 24th, 2009 - 12:37 am

Silly &itch!!! It’s far too late for rethugs to pretend like they are virgins when it comes to sweetheart deals. Rethug politicians have spent so many years with their noses so deep in corporate lobbyists @$$es they don’t even need to breathe normal air. They breathe farts instead.

muggins   December 24th, 2009 - 12:43 am

Oly didn’t vote for it because they didn’t need her vote. If Leiberman or one of the dems would have not supported it, she would have changed her tune. The fact that Nora O’dingbat is playing kissey face with Oly goes to show she is really a stealth democrat.

FastFacts   December 24th, 2009 - 1:08 am

Funny how the left wants to tear down our health care. You know why our health care is so expensive and constantly going up. The lawyers are getting richer off the medical insurance companies back. The money won doesn’t go to the “victim.” It goes to paying off the lawyers and those that helped the lawyers. The reason we don’t find our health care to be “number one” is because everything is given to us in this society and our standard is higher than every where else. But remember, when this bill was starting to come forward at the beginning of the year, 82% of Americans were happy with their coverage. That is until this debate started and suddenly their standards got higher and the poll went down to 62% were happy with their coverage. Did something change in four months, no. We are a wealth nation that even the poor are richer than the rich in other nations. Our standards are higher than everyone else and I guarentee you that if you did a fair comparison between the countries on health care, ours would be number one. Oh and I should know I was in Construction as an assistant, I have had two open heart surgeries, I am only 27 years old, and I could go on forever telling you how great our system is especially compared to almost all other countries, this coming from 15 months of studying these other systems.

Snowe: a republican today a RINO tomorrow.

allwornout   December 24th, 2009 - 1:15 am

Soooooo, Sen., what did obama say?, what was his reply when you voiced your concern? in your 1 on 1 meeting.
you didn’t answer the question.

Snowe, outta here in 2012!   December 24th, 2009 - 1:40 am

You’re gone anyway in 2012. You proved yourself unfit for office when you voted for Obungole’s Porkulous Bill. You and Collins! Your only saving grace will be if you vote to remove the fraud Obunga from office in early 2011.

confused no longer   December 24th, 2009 - 2:52 am

Hey Oly you grew a spine a couple of weeks late. Are you telling me you didn’t have a clue what you were dealing with. You had to know, you’ve been there so long. Get off high horse quick trying to “make it better” for me; it’s killing me! You had a chance to be a true statesman last month, and you wobbled around with some sanctimonious notion Harry and Nancy were going to play fair in an honest debate. If you had soooo many questions that were not answered all you had to do was tell these power hungry bunch of old dried up socialist to come back when they had the answers. You are a poser and a hoser with feet of clay. Thanks a pantload. In the future please be advised the opposition plays for keeps. The liberal regardless how they glowing paint the canvass will grind not only free thinkers like you, to dust; but also any of their own ilk if they get in there way. Liberals can’t and never have been able to part of anything. They must control it all. The far left that is directing this would rather Rule a third wold power, than be a vital part of the brightest and best country on the planet. I weep for you.

Rob   December 24th, 2009 - 6:46 am

Next time you think it will be a good idea to let something out of committee for a debate in a democrat controlled senate – THINK again. This could have been killed before it ever got started.

claspur   December 24th, 2009 - 7:45 am

If it deserves a No vote, then why did I just hear you vote Yeh in senate chambers, you stupid twit!

When Dingy Harry Reids’ name was called to vote, a short delay, then raucus laughter… I about pucked-up my bellyful of coffee.

These people have done absolutely nothing-but work on destroying this country since Maobummercorn was sworn into office.(twice, btw)

claspur   December 24th, 2009 - 8:06 am

*** Snowe voted No…. My Bad.

Drudge has a post about when Dingy Harry Reid got called to vote, because He was SOoooo’oh tired, He voted No by mistake…that’s why there was laughter when He was called. (that’s a load of BS! Reid sucks Kock!)

stupid suckers   December 24th, 2009 - 8:11 am

This crooked witch didn’t need to vote for it. The Dems already had enough votes. Otherwise, the crooked ugly witch would have been instructed to vote for it by her neocon leaders. When will the American people realize that most of the voting that goes on in the house and senate is a scam? They discuss the vote in private before the public vote. The congressmembers in conservative districts are allowed to survive by voting against whatever liberal bill and the liberal congressmembers are tallied and instructed to vote for passage. They come to a private consensus, all of them, so that each member has the best chance of surviving reelection. With little exception – members such as Ron Paul have always been the exeption to this – these folks consider themselves to be an elite American royalty – all of them, Republican and Democrat. And they are poised to take over all private industry in this country. So get ready for the next onslaught of fascism.

Suck my stick, Snowe!   December 24th, 2009 - 8:39 am

Suck my stick, Snowe! You voted for the robbery of the U.S. Treasury via the Porkulous Bill. You know, Nancy Pelosi is 70 years old and has plastic surgery on a regular basis, so why doesn’t Snowe? She’s butt ugly.

conservativeandproud   December 24th, 2009 - 9:10 am

Awhhhh, such a nice christmas present for obama. Now he can go to his $4000/night private beach house and celebrate….just like all americans…

temple62   December 24th, 2009 - 9:41 am

The lemmings of Maine should be real proud to have an elected RINO leading the charge to national bankruptcy. You didn’t learn anything from the Carter years, did you?

temple62   December 24th, 2009 - 9:54 am

“Mr Smith Goes to Washington” is obviously a movie about a fictional congress where right prevails and the good guy wins. The story line of contemporary congressional politics is also one of the corruption, realities, deals, intrusion upon the nation’s tax payers and the founders principles. However, the winners are represented by the likes of Grayson, Graham, Snowe, Specter, Lieberman, McCain, Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the other self serving voices making personal decisions for the taxpayers of the United States. Old Teddy would be proud of these tricksters if he were only here today to pontificate.

Whatwhatwhat   December 24th, 2009 - 10:58 am

LOL!!! No because of sweetheart deals? The rethug politicians perfected the sweetheart deal. From 1994 up until the time the American people put the conservative rethugs out of power, these useless cretins have had their noses so far up the butts of lobbyists they now breathe farts instead of air.

Radford Bunker   December 25th, 2009 - 12:41 am

It doesn’t matter Olympia. When you voted yes on the earlier vote that let this piece of garbage come to the floor you opened the door for it to pass. You are a fool Olympia, and you need to go.

The Stuttering What???   December 25th, 2009 - 1:58 am

I thought Whatwhatwhat died of hernia strangulation. Who let this azzwipe back on here? What can I say, liberal, Marxist, Obama dick sucker… go phucurself with an ice pick!!
