Time for an Article V Convention. Article V was put into the constitution by George Mason as a measure to stop an out of control federal government in its tracks. It is time to call you local state reps and urge them to start the process of an Article V Convention to stop Obama and his marxist crew.
When the constitution was ratified, George Mason saw a problem regarding federal control and wanted Article V added to save the states, and people from the very “type” administration we have in Washington DC today.

This morning on the radio news I learned that they are trying to enact a law to ban salt from all restaurants etc. In Indiana as of 7/1/10, you will have to show your ID to buy alcohol EVERY time you purchase it no matter how old you are…it WAS anyone over 40. This health care bill that passed is one more way they are taking control of the American people. I feel like I am living in a nightmare. If we don’t STAND UP AGAINST THEM, we have no one to blame but ourselves. I believe we NEED to revolt. Who out there will start an uprising??? There are a lot of sheeple. Doctors are already talking about leaving the profession, not only because of the low government pay that is coming, but also because it is against the Hippocratic Oath not to be allowed to take care of a patient to the best of their ability. The situation we, as FREE people, have presently is way past electoral solutions….we MUST eliminate the VAST bureaucracies that have permeated our daily life.

We are in an economic crisis, and he is completely ignoring it, putting HIS ideological priorities in place before the needs -or desires- of the people. We never reached an agreement on what the problem was. It intentionally was kept “grey” as to keep most people confused and then pull at their heart emotionally to pass this control bill. This is a law that is now unconstitutional, which is ok, because the constitution is a moving target in the progressive/liberal mindset. When Pelosi says it is just the start, she means it. When Obama says he will fundamentally chage the country, he means it. When Dingle says it takes time to control the people, he means it.
Somehow, the American People (fancy term for the collective), can’t see this and don’t take them at their word. Why is this statement shocking? This was the intent of healthcare all along, and it was recognized by those who had half a brain in their heads. As Irish2DaBone stated, the truth will be revealed. 1.) While searching for a valid OMB Control Number for the 2010 Census, which I cannot find, I noticed a troubling thing in several Executive Orders (EO’s).
Previous EOs repealed by Klinton contain limitations on Agency authority, with language such as:
“ Section 1. Definitions. For the purposes of this Order:
(a) “Regulation” or “rule” means an agency statement of general applicability and future effect designed to implement, interpret, or prescribe law or policy or describing the procedure or practice requirements of an agency,…”
and
“Sec. 9. Judicial Review. This Order is intended only to improve the internal management of the Federal government, and is not intended to create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law by a party against the United States, its agencies, its officers or any person. The determinations made by agencies under Section 4 of this Order, and any Regulatory Impact Analyses for any rule, shall be made part of the whole record of agency action in connection with the rule.”
Direct quotations from EO 12291
Notice a problem, the Executive is attempting to, or in fact, making and interpreting LAW, which are functions reserved to the Legislative and Judicial under the U.S. Constitution.
Klintons EO 12866 changes things- it starts off with a bunch of Un Constitutional philosophy:
“The American people deserve a regulatory system that works for them, not against them: a regulatory system that protects and improves their health, safety, environment, and well-being and improves the performance of the economy without imposing unacceptable or unreasonable costs on society; regulatory policies that recognize that the private sector and private markets are the best engine for economic growth; regulatory approaches that respect
the role of State, local, and tribal governments; and regulations that are effective, consistent, sensible, and understandable. We do not have such a regulatory system today.”
We don’t have such a system because we should not have one. The President does not grant well being and performance of the economy…

(a) The Regulatory Philosophy. Federal agencies should promulgate only such regulations as are required by law, are necessary to interpret the law, or are made necessary by compelling public need, such as material failures

See how the language has been modified from previous similar EO’s from limits on what regulations may be made, to a ‘suggestion.’ In Sec. 10 of EO 12866, the requirement for Agency documentation requirement has been removed.
There are SERIOUS problems here, it concerns me that OMB is no longer under DoC but directly under the President. Why? Why is the Agency responsible for issuing Control Numbers itself not under the same requirement? Why is the Executive attempting to circumvent the Separation of Powers?
Theres a simple answer – A EXECUTIVE/MILITARY COUP. The Executive is also CIC of the Military. All it takes now is an EO or two to seize Legislative and Judicial authority in Agency rules binding as law, and when we attempt to ignore them, use military force to impose them.

All the people in awe of the government passing health care need to hear this it’s too bad we don’t have an open mic to all the conservation these people have in private. This is why the Republican took a stand and did not support this bill, they had some great ideas for real reform but the Democrats were not going to listen they had an agenda and were not going to hesitate. It has never been about giving people better health care if you believe that was the motive they you are misinformed of just vacant of rational thought. Like social security, taxes of the rich and capitol gains, Medicare, Medicaid it’s all a two part deal. Take money from the producers and spread the wealth around to the poor or non producers it has been repeated may times by some Democrats. And secondly it will create a entitlement class that will always be grateful to those that give them free stuff so they will have enslaved a huge voting block pure and simple. If they really cared about needed health care reform they would not have had such a cumbersome and confusing health care bill and left it to the IRS as the overseer to collect the fees(taxes). Ummm, did you ever consider that since the government will now be regulating the medical industry that there will be less of a desire for people to enter the medical field? Many doctors are already feeling the strain, and most of them expect things to get much worse under Obamacare. Many have said that they are seriously considering ending their practices. Nobody is going to work for nothing. Obamacare is going to cause much higher demand and much lower supply. You do that math.
America is very sick. People are going completely crazy. Many nations in the world have socialized medicine of some sort or other. Canadians and Europeans are not living in police states. On the contrary, America has many features of a militarized police state that are not present in these countries.

The result, the bill was taken behind closed doors, opponents locked out and ignored. Every single idea put up has been ignored. Tell me there isn’t anyone out there who doesn’t think tort reform is a good idea? Nothing in this bill will reduce health care costs – that should have been the goal.

our state legislators can do a lot to oppose fascist DC.
urge your state legislators to pass laws like: prohibiting anyone doing business in their state from withholding federal taxes from employees’ paychecks; prohibit insurance companies from operating in their states if they accept payments from the federal government; prohibit doctors from being licensed in their state if they accept payments from the federal government unless those payments are required under the medicare and medicaid laws that existed prior to March 21, 2010.

First of all, term limits would do nothing. You want real power? RECALL rights for your federally elected officials like senators and congressmen.
Currently, only 18 states have that right. You can recall your state level reps for your state houses, but not federal.
If you have someone you like, why should you have to give them up for a term limit. However, if you had the right to recall, do you think they could play the “voters will forget” game? How many congressmen would vote against you if they knew they could be recalled, hmmm?
Think Spector would still be there? Why should we have to watch senators and congressmen run amok and not be able to recall them?

I don’t admit that it’s biased, but even if it is… It’s absurd to believe that there will be more doctors, considering that the government is going to be regulating the industry. Doctors certainly will not be doing better with a lighter work load under government control. Fact – there will be increased demand on doctors. If only 10% of doctors quit we are in trouble. If the level of doctors remain the same, we are in trouble. There will be longer wait times and higher prices. Basic economics. There will be rationing. This is a bad, bad bill.

They are put into the government health care system which is a SINGLE PAYER system among all government workers. If you think WE are going to get the same thing, you are dreaming. They said we would have “access” to their plans which is not the same thing as having the plan. If you pay for it yourself you can have the plan but you won’t be able to afford it. The only reason they can afford it is that WE are paying for it. And when the money runs out, we are in trouble, but their plans are iron-clad.

As so many on Obama’s side relentlessly repeat, there are other countries that already have government healthcare, so we can know what’s going to happen without waiting to see. In Canada and Britain healthcare is rationed. There are many horror stories coming out of both countries, and the rich and desperate from both countries come here and pay cash for major medical care. In America the situation will be worse because we have a higher percentage of illegal aliens, for example. (I know that some are going to claim that illegals are not covered, but they will be when Obama and the dems pass amnesty.) Once America has socialized health care, where will anyone go?
As for Wall Street, they are businesses, and there are also bloodsucking bottom feeders. Yes, the drains need to be controlled, but it just should not be a higher priority than helping legitimate businesses get back on their feet so they can start hiring again. For crying out loud, we have 18% real unemployment. Obama should be giving incentives to businesses to invest (and yes, many of those businesses are on Wall Street) so they can start hiring again, but Obama is doing nothing but pushing his ideological agenda. It’s maddening.

When I say Wall Street, I mean the industry in general, not each business.
My son is living and working in China. They too have social medical services. He has nothing but good grades to give regarding that(don’t start with “oh so now you think China is the best country?”). So I do have some first hand knowledge about it.
I agree jobs are really the number 1 issue and should be addressed NOW. Try and remember that the President has been in office 15 months. It amazes me that so many people think he and his team come in and BAM it’s all fixed. He is taking on a lot of major issues (too many probably) and it will take time for the solutions to be felt. Unlike Rush, I hope he succeeds. That would be good for America.
But, nooneimportant, I do believe that violence may one day be necessary to regain our liberty, if we still desire liberty enough.
I’ve read a sampling of all the posts here and would like to contribute my views. As a suburban Detroit area resident, I’ve heard Dingell speak many times. He is not an ogre or, consciously, a member of a potential dictatorial class.
He is, instead, a very sad, very old New Dealer, celebrating the near-final piece of FDR’s 1940’s New Deal legislation finally being foisted on an unwilling American public. His thoughts about controlling the people were probably the babblings of a confused old man, no matter how, ironically, they may actually represent the reality of the matter. He is, in his own mind, a patriot and hero of the downtrodden. To his credit, he is not a member of Obama’s “New Class” of Ivey League deconstructionist anti-American Marxists. Some of his views on America’s right to economic development, although grounded in industrial union self-interest, are at least not as destructive of our economy as most of the views of the liberals and socialists in the Democrat Party. He is more of a useful idiot, than a conscious enemy of our republic.
Nevertheless, this horrible national socialist health care bill must be turned back at the polls this November and in 2012. This should not, and, hopefully, shall not stand. Whether or not it was passed primarily by well-meaning idiots or downright enemies of our individual freedom, the Constitution and real economic development makes little difference. The consequences of the last disastrous general election and the ascendancy of a proto-Marxist, anti American (as defined by their opposition to the clear meanings of the U.S. Constitution) elite to leadership, need to be reversed as soon as possible. Otherwise, or our nation will sink into the deep well of poverty, powerlessness, and despair that has been the fate of so many other once mighty nations of the past.

The states need to summon Washington and have a very tough conversation with them.
Meanwhile, what the people should be doing is pushing legislation through their state houses for recall rights in all 50 states to recall senators and congressmen. The same rules that apply to their local representatives and senators in their state houses.
You should be able to recall your senators and congressmen when they go off the rails. No appointments allowed, and the minute someone decides they’re not running for re-election, they vacate their seat, because they’re no longer accountable to voters.

- Claim that our biggest responsibility is to reduce the national debt but then turn around and say “Keep the good parts of the current healthcare bill but strip the revenue that would pay for these new benefits!!” which would balloon our national debt.
- Say that this is a government take over of healthcare and yet not one single republican elected official has volunteered to give up their government run insurance and enter the private market
- Government should not RESTRICT our choices of seeking medical care through any means we see fit as individuals but then turn around and are staunch supporters of RESTRICTING a woman’s decision to seek medical care for an abortion even if paying with her own money
- Claim that government run insurance would be a catastrophe for American citizens but yet they support providing 100% government run insurance for our veterans who fight for our freedom and liberty
- Have stood for the strong core values of “every individual needs to take personal responsibility for themselves” but then don’t support the portion of the bill that makes individuals be responsible and buy health care coverage so that if they get sick or end up in the ER that the rest of us don’t have to pay for them.

There really isn’t “38 states” that are fighting this. In most of those states very little has been done to oppose this health care. In some, only a state bill has been ontroduced my an obscure local politician. The lawsuits are hopeful, but they are a long shot. They are likely to fail. The November elections are also hopeful, but what are conservatives going to do after Amnesty for illegal aliens becomes law with the help of republicans? Are conservatives still going to vote republican, or is the vote going to be split because conservatives would then be angry at everyone? If a third party emerges, then democrats will hold power in November. America will be toast. Then what?
About 25% of the colonialists initially supported the revolution. I doubt that we would need that many.
I heard that the IRS positions that will monitor this have not been funded. Isn’t that interesting. Maybe the state budgets
will have to cover those costs as well as the additional people added to medicare and the $500B cuts to medicade to help fund

They mandate an obscene insurance nightmare on us; we take their Cadillac insurance plans away from them.
First on my list is to strip elected officials of all the perks they have given themselves.
1. Get rid of their retirement.

3. No COLA’s unless we, the people, decide they should get it.
4. Shorten the time they are in Washington.

I have seen a couple of comments regarding the belief that upon retirement our legislators will be in the same health system as the general public. NOT SO! Our congressional reps and Senators will continue to get paid and will remain on their preferred healthcare plan until the day they die. Even if they serve only one day, they get lifetime benefits. And it’s all doable on “paper.” A “revolutionary” revolution. If enough States say “guys, ya’ve gone way over the top, and you’re gonna knock it off, because we can’t afford what you’re doing to us”. . .Washington has to listen.
Besides, it’s not like Washington can make the States pay any parts of the bills. The bills have become obscene, and Washington is still spending. . .
Ya tell Washington “so sue me” if they try to go after you for that portion of the debt in the nation.
Look man, it’s nutty out there, I won’t argue that with you. On that we agree.
BUT, you are missing a much larger and more focused picture. 38 states, most of the contiguous US, if they got together and “summoned” the whackjobs in Washington and said “you boys are in a heapa trouble, there”. . . .Washington would have to listen.
And if they don’t, you can go through a “paper” divorce, and move on. What, Washington gonna crash your banks? Wow. . .big surprise there, huh? Beendaredonedat already. . . .
America is exceptional in so many unique and amazing ways. . .all ya gotta do is open your eyes. . .stop yelling the usual “nutball” stuff that will get you labeled whackjob. . and start focusing on real possibilities.
Like legislation to recall your federal elected officials. Your state legislatures can do that. Talk about sending the fear of gawd through people. . .
Next – start petitioning your Governors and your local state representatives about the option to talk to washington about a divorce since they won’t listen to you.
But if you’re one of those people that wants to go in gunz a blazin’ before you even understand how many options are available to you, no one would ever listen.

You’d probably have a few people with you, maybe most of them whackos also, but you’d never appeal to the reasonable people of the nation.
You’ll turn them all off.
Stay sane – stay cool. Think it all the way through. Use the tools you have at your disposal. Email, letters, communications at lightening speed, and most importantly, the passion everyone has.
But use it in a sane and rational manner. Not in some way that’s gonna get you labeled as one of those “domestic” psychos. You serve no one then. Only your own ego, and I’m sure that’s not your intent.
Focus on what you can do, what is possible. Focus and rally people to use the tools of this century, and stop fighting battles like last century.
Don’t play checkers. Play chess. Let the other whackos play checkers.
The responsibility to correct this mess should be picked up by our Armed Forces. I thought that they were suppose to protect our Constitution. We all know that liberals want a Obamatopia and we all know that the Republicans have been spineless for many years and most of the citizen have been educated in public schools and many don’t know better, so we have a governing structure that is now attempting to dilute the Constitution. Now, our Armed Forces, after waging wars for two centuries on behalf of freedom are not going to do it for their own homeland? Something they they sworn to do? I think this is bizarre. Frankly, I’m not sure why I have paid so many taxes to support our defense, they can’t defend us from idiots in DC…..yet they can send a multitude of our sons and daughters and brothers overseas to die for many that don’t give a “thought” about us and here we are, facing the destruction of our Constitution and I see no arguments to stop the madness.
I don’t mind disagreements, I welcome discussions, but what we should not stand for is the “tweaking” of our process to pass legislation against the priciples of our Founding Fathers and this is just what has occurred and will keep occurring. Obama is simply a Socialist on the path of Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. I know, I have been in both of those nations and the patterns is emerging here.
If this becomes law, the states should fight back…… hopefully not against the Armed Forces…

Mobilize yourselves, and start pushing for recall rights for your congressmen and senators, start pushing for your State Houses and Governors to start getting a “pulse” in their states about what Washington is doing – about pushing back against someone who declares “emperor” type control over you.
Imagine a state that could build a 4th generation nuke plant for clean power to get away from oil, and wouldn’t have to ask Washington for permission. Imagine your state being able to build a road, and not having to get bogged down in a Washington law suit over the ridiculous “endangered species” act.
Imagine a state were you kept all the money that you would normally pay in Federal taxes (but you’d have to pay SS taxes, keep the promise to the seniors). Imagine how much money you’d keep.
Imagine how successful you would be – imagine your State becoming solvent again. Because all the money wouldn’t be sucked out of the state by Washington.
Imagine a state where all the gas taxes you pay at the pump stay in your state to pay for your own roads and bridges rather than trying to get it back from Washington.
Imagine your state controlling welfare and hand outs rather than federal mandates for welfare? Imagine your state where your government is held accountable by you, to you, and for your money that you pay.
Imagine a state where someone like Pelosi or Barney frank have nothing to say over what you have to pay for and what you don’t.
Imagine a state where your taxes stay in your state, and aren’t sent to pay for things in other states for other people, when those states won’t even enforce our laws. (sanctuary cities). You could decide to give them a path to citizenship – have them get in line and do it legally. But you would control if your tax dollars supported them or not.
Not because some monolithic idiot state like California is pushing you around with Pelosi.
Just imagine. . . .you could vote with your feet. Choose to live in a sovereign state, or live in a state under the aegis of Washington.
You’d have the ultimate choice, and control over our state level government, the government most closest to you.

I agree with you Tim. I think it foolish to think states will recall their senators or congressmen. This is wishful thinking. The states will be bought off period and people are not going to make it happen. Only one way to reverse this and it is in the November elections of this year and in the next presidential election. If people resoundingly return the Rupublicans into power there is a chance this bill will be sent to the trash bin where it belongs. I am bracing myself now for the cap and trade and immigration bills coming our way.

We’ve got to start making hard choices. We need to put all the “illegal” individuals here on the tax rolls, and give them a path to citizenship, legally, not by short cutting and giving amnesty.
We need to start to have a “means” test for medicare. Not just an age. There are people on medicare that have the means to pay for it themselves, but the insurance companies automatically dump them into medicare as soon as they’re 65. I’ve seen it with my parents. You don’t get a choice. We need to make that type of behavior illegal, and means test for medicare. But, we also need to lift the contribution cap.
We need to allow $1 for $1 write offs for Drs and Hospitals for services to under/uninsured people. We need to remove the restriction that indigent people have to go to “not for profit” hosptials. Open that up to all Drs and Hospitals.
Just imagine the cutting edge services they would have access to, and the Drs and Hospitals could write off those services $1 for $1 against income, rather than pay huge taxes.
We need tort reform.
How many of you are aware that states with tort reform are going to receive lower reimbursements?

Well, we had the AMERICAN revolution which a scant 85 years later was negated by the War Against the States (a/k/a the “Civil War”). The victory of the “Union” (i.e. the federal government) has led to our present of control NATIONAL government.
It would seem that it’s time for the American people to try it again, only this time the FRENCH way since our politicians and elite “leaders” are no more willing to abide by the “consent of the governed” than were King Louis and the French nobility.
What we have here is the supreme arrogance of a political/gangsta class that has, over the years by virtue of the greed and apathy of ordinary Americans, taken absolute control of just about everything. Our only hope is a re-awakening of the Jeffersonian/Madisonian understanding of the power of the Sovereign States and the People. I freely admit that I believed this crap bill and the ensuing Immigration bill would only affect us in moderate ways but I was dead wrong. I have awakened people! I hope any doubters will too. We outnumber all of them so we must take what we are losing back and start doing it soon!

Yep, education in the states could be a priority also. States would be free from Washington’s terrible yoke and costs.
Too many are too quick to shriek and yell without thinking about all the other possibilities available to them.
Anger isn’t the answer – focused efforts coordinated with your state governments is the answer.
As I said, if 38 states told Washington “knock it off or we’re going to get a divorce” Washington has to listen. Nothing they could do about it.
And any one that didn’t like the situation – vote with your feet. You can move to one of the 12 states not pushing back.

I’m not going to delve too far into the banal and at times fringe like arguments of those who argue that this bill is either socialistic in nature, sponsored by Satan himself or simply the beginning of the end of America when all the facts indicate something to the contrary.
I’d ask people to look at the CBO’s projections on the actual cost and deficit reduction ability of this bill.
I’d ask people to consider that many concessions were made to incorporate Republican support into this bill by abandoning the public option, etc.
Though I am pretty sure that many people are upset about the way this bill was passed, myself included, once the tangible results of this bill are revealed people will support it and probably ask for true reform that goes beyond the reform of this bill.
