Listening with my eyes closed. I’m not sure now either. When it imagine they are saying Obama, it sounds like Obama. When I imagine they are saying God, it sound like God.

Good morning, brothers and sisters; it’s always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning, and so eager to get into God’s Word. Turn with me in your Bibles, if you will to the 47th chapter of Genesis, we’ll begin our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27.

Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray…. So we see that economic hard times fell upon Egypt, and the people turned to the government of Pharaoh to deal with this for them. And Pharaoh nationalized the grain harvest, and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the people brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase, and gave it all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money ran out, and they were hungry again.
So when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock -their cattle, their horses, their sheep, and their donkey – to barter for grain, and verse 17 says that only took them through the end of that year..
But the famine wasn’t over, was it? So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and admitted they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. “There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land. Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh.” So they surrendered their homes, their land, and their real estate to Pharaoh’s government, and then sold themselves into slavery to him, in return for grain. What can we learn from this, brothers and sisters?
That turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider in hard times only leads to slavery? Yes. That the only reason government wants to be our provider is to also become our master? Yes.
But look how that passage ends, brothers and sisters!
Thus Israel settled in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen. And they gained possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly.” God provided for His people, just as always has!
They didn’t end up giving all their possessions to government, no, it says they gained possessions!
But I also tell you a great truth today, and an ominous one. We see the same thing happening today – the government today wants to “share the wealth “once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us. It wants to take control of health care, just as it has taken control of education, and ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government decides who gets it, and how much, and what kind. And if we go along with it, and do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people of Egypt did four thousand years ago – as slaves to the government, and as slaves to our leaders.
What Mr. Obama’s government is doing now is no different from what Pharaoh’s government did then, and it will end the same. And a lot of people like to call Mr. Obama a “Messiah,” don’t they? Is he a Messiah? A savior? Didn’t the Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, “You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh”?
Well, I tell you this – I know the Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. Obama is no Messiah! No, brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is Pharaoh.
Bow with me in prayer, if you will.
Lord, You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone. We confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be. We read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of what a ruler would do, where it says “And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.” And Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of the ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this nation. We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would be our masters. Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect Your people from the atrocities of Pharaoh’s government.

For those who are trying to say that they are saying “Oh God” instead of “Obama”, not sure who you are but the fact that the word they are saying has three syllables versus two pretty much shoots that down, plus at about 1:15 you can clearly hear “Obama” when the mic moves close to someone. Also, at about 1:25, the person leading the prayer calls him “god among us”.

Listening closely, eyes closed, not reading text, I believe some are saying God and some are saying Obama. Weird none the less.
It just goes to show you what kind of people are following him around. I wonder if this has happened in other “gathering” places. I wonder if these people are considered a church and are getting a tax free status. I could care less about the praying part. The fact that they need guidence and are looking for it in obama is kind of funny. Simple minds are easily distracted from the truth. I wonder who posted this friend or foe? Misguided in their process, praying is what they need to do just not obama. Why arnt they asking for free education? or for better and safer living environment. This country has millions of people who are homeless much less out of a job. What makes me doubt they are saying Obama and not God, is that the text layover on the video. When you read something you are more likely to think that is what they are saying. I agree, listen with your eyes closed and don’t think the word Obama when they get to that part.

Please be careful with this video. I was positive that the people were chanting “Obama” as well — I was horrified. However, after I read some of the comments posted here, I listened carefully without looking at the video three times. Then I heard it as “Oh, God” with a bit of an echo. This may be a case of an honest misunderstanding. The left is looking for ANYTHING to discredit Beck/conservatism — Please don’t let this be it. Verify, verify, verify….

Truly shocking if they are in fact praying to Obama. I’m a Catholic & conservative and was inclined to flip my lid when I first saw this. HOWEVER, as this is video of a prayer being led by clergy, I listened to it a 2nd time as the original claims were too shocking to believe. My ears hear most people in the crowd saying “O God”, not “Obama”. Could be there are a few radicals saying “Obama” but most aren’t. I think it was irresponsible for someone to post this and print words here that aren’t from the majority in that prayerful crowd. This kind of tactic, & inaccurate videos that go viral, give us conservatives a bad name. Let’s be more careful with our facts. Even when we don’t see eye-to-eye politically, we’re all God’s children.

I’m not at all convinced the chant is to President Obama.

Regardless of what they say, these folks actions demonstrate a trust in the government for provision and welfare and help – instead of trusting in God.
Clearly, this is typical liberal theology (liberal theology is different from liberal politics, by the way) that rejects the authority of God.
Our founders and early leaders had it right by making originally making our government defer to God – symbolized by putting “In God we trust” on all sorts of items – not the least of which was money!
It used to be we shouldn’t trust money, or government – but now those two are one. Don’t trust government “wealth” and power; trust God.

Okay, the only way you’re truly going to know what they were actually saying is if you have a witness that was there, and knew exactly what they were saying. I’ll give you the benefit of a doubt. They better work hard to disprove that they were saying Obama. Two, they would have to pull up some witnesses to do that. You know… I’m not totally convinced that the group is saying ‘Obama.’ I watched the video reading the text and feel I was biased towards hearing what was written (i.e. Deliver us Obama”). The second time, I closed my eyes and listened and then a third time did the same. It’s a toss up, but I am leaning towards them saying ‘Oh God.” Since the group is not perfectly in sync, some people are a syllable behind giving that extra sound after ‘Oh God.’ In particular, at the 1:17 (or so) there is a rather loud voice, I assume a woman’s voice, which stands out over other voices. The second syllable definitely sounds more like a ‘G’ sound than a ‘B’ sound to me. Further, the second syllable seems to be ‘held’ versus a ’short’ syllable if the person were following said syllable with an ‘a’ sound. The same thing happens at about 1:29.
So, the audio ain’t the best… but I am leaning towards the crowd saying “Oh God.”

I’m pretty sure that what is being said is ‘Oh God’. The problem is that things can be misinterpreted on recorded video like this. Many of the things the speaker says sounds shady at first but it’s just misguided. Also, it could be due to the large room and people reading the litany at different times which is causing it to sound like three syllable. Unless a copy of the provided litany for the day is shown I have a hard time believing that they are saying ‘Obama’. I’m not a fan of Obama and think he is a dangerous leader; I just don’t think the worship portion was necessarily directed towards him.

in response to mntxt.. the preacher leading the prayer doesnt say god among us, she says God’s abundance. With Obama being 3 syllables and Oh God being two, there should be more of a distinction. I think there is a mixture of both being said. I’m wondering what the opinions of whats being actually said would be without the subtitles in the video. They force your mind to a predisposition of whats being said. Listen to it with your eyes closed and it is hard to actually hear whats being said. I hope people with technology to break down sounds can pull individual phrases to make sure what is being reported is being said.
If you listen very carefully they are saying Hear Our Cry Oh God, not Obama, you have to listen a couple of times, I am not an Obama supporter at all, but right is right and wrong is wrong, this is wrong.
If you listen closely I believe they are saying “Hear our cry O God!” and “Deliver us O God!” Not everyone is exactly simultaneous and it sounds like there is more than two syllables “O God” It is too muffled to jump to the conclusion that they are saying “Obama.” It just makes us look conspiratorial when we try to make those claims without more background.
God sometimes REQUIRES us to do certain things before He will help us. War is coming to America, it will be a bloody and devastating war of evil. As the Jews in Nazi Germany found out, they were not saved just by praying. To survive they had to take up arms (guns) and resist. Go rent the movie DEFIANCE and see what the Jewish resistance did in Poland. They SURVIVED while those that were meek died by the thousands. Who have these people marked as their enemies? What do you think they intend to do to US? God gave the Children of Israel the Promised Land and led them to it. But He REQUIRED them to walk through the desert to get there, He REQUIRED them to battle other nations to take that land. And after World War II, those that survived were led back to reclaim Israel. But they were REQUIRED to take it back and battle those that have tried to kill them. There are lessons to be learned. Read the book of Judges and the same lesson is repeated 25 times to you. If you choose to be like the meek Jews that would not resist you will meet the same fate that they did. If you choose to spit into the face of satan and fight if we are pushed into that, then you have a chance. Are you armed? Do you know how to use that firearm?Do you have a good supply of ammo and what you would need to live in the forest? Are you going to meekly watch your children and the old people rounded up and put into cattle cars, or are you willing to stand firm and fight? This nation was not founded by meek cowards. It was founded by people that bravely put everything they had on the line, they risked everything to get what you take for granted today. Do you think these people will allow even this website to exist when they seize power? I do not encourage violence. But if you are unwilling to fight to defend yourself and your nation, then you have already lost. If they see that we will fight them if they try this here, that might prevent violence. The first few times, I’m not sure what I heard. If I’m not sure, then I error on the side of caution. It is not up to them to prove they were not saying Obama. You can’t prove a negative anyway. “Bam Maw” is translated as “heights” or “heaven”.
It would appear Jesus was warning His disciples about an anti-Christ in our day, but it was translated twice, so many people haven’t gotten that particular message.

The video clearly shows a rally gathering in December 2008. President Obama had not been sworn in as President, nor was the health care plan the topic of discussion at that time. In the audio the people are clearly saying “hear my cry O God” or “Deliver us O God”. The paranoia is unbelievable!!!! The bottom line is this….if anyone is worshipping a man such as the president, or any other man/woman (celebrities, sports figures, singers…etc) God will deal with them; He is a jealous God. However this false or misinterpreted video is just continuing with the false accusations of the President being the antichrist, or being worshipped as a god.

I listened very closely and I thought I heard O God, and maybe some people were, but God does not end in “ma”, which is heard over and over again. I have to state with some reservation that they are indeed praying to Obama. Naive, foolish, and without a personal testimony, good people are falling away.

I listened to this several times. They are saying Obama. I know what I’m hearing and my ears are not fooling me. “O God” sounds a lot different than “Obama.”
When I first heard this I was shocked and dismayed. However, after subsequent hearings, I am quite certain the people on the video are saying “hear us O GOD.” Breitbart needs to apologize and take this down immediately to protect thier credibility. As to what the audio says, I wish we had a better version. I listened to several versions and I can hear a distinct OB in some and a distinct A at the end of some. Others in the crowd however sound like they may be saying god. It is really hard to know for certain.
However, they definitely butcher the true meaning of Jeremiah. The section about the balm of Gilead is in reference to the people of Jerusalem committing abominations and then not having any guilt about it. It is about the lack of personal responsibility, which is what would save the spiritual health and physical health of any nation. That is to accept individual responsibility. Jeremiah talks about false peace and the lack of personal righteousness amongst the city (Jerusalem in this case) and that because of it God will be burning all the inhabitants therein and THEY WILL NOT BE SAVED. Jeremiah is very clear that this city, because of their own personal abominations WILL NOT BE SAVED.

Listen to the audio with filtering software to reduce the noise. There is clearly an “ah” at the end. ‘Obam’ah’ not ‘o God’ah. Likewise the harshness of the consonant ‘G’ is not what is heard but rather the softer sounding ‘B’. If your ear is good you can hear it from this vid without special techniques by paying attention to the ‘ah’ at the end, which would not be needed to say “O God”.
OK. Breitbart is losing credibility with me. Play it back, but do not look at the words. They are saying, “O God” This is a standard way to pray or offer petitions in a group for Catholics. If you think it is a “prayer” to Obama, listen again, critically, skeptically. I think you will conclude that it was a prayer to God.

I’m pretty sure they are saying “GOD”. If you listen, the voice the “…a” sound (that would be at the end of Obama) is not coming from the foreground. It’s a background noise. Now, if you take into account that the voices are out of sync AND that anyone saying “God” in without really really trying to annunciate the “D” at the end of “God” it does make a “awww” sound, followed by a quiet “d” sound. I personally don’t say “gaw…DUH”.
OK. Did as suggested and tried to tone down background noise. The first two “O, God”s really sound like

What these people stand for is moronic. It would mind-blowing if they were saying “Obama”, but they are definitely saying “Oh, God”. I listened to the whole thing, purposely not watching the video. Jeez, people, they aren’t saying “Obama” and grasping at straws like this only hurts any attempt at having a real conversation. The Acorn ‘prostitute’ videos were great because it was pretty black and white, but the echo of the crowd IS what’s making it sound like “Obama”. I pray that God will find some of us righteous in His eyes. Enough to spare us from this terrible plague that’s come upon our nation. The antichrist is not here yet but it just may be that his way is being paved and he will enter the picture soon. We must stop living as the world lives and live as God wants us to. When we enter into a relationship with God we are bound to Him. Just as a husband and wife are bound to one another, and become one body, so are we bound to God. That means that if we defile our own bodies, we have comitted a sin against Him. When we do as the non-believers do we’re acting like we’re not even a child of God! The “world” does not accept God’s Word so they are at odds with Him. Let’s pray that God spares our country for the few who still believe and obey and for those who are innocent, children, infants, etc.

I have listened to it again. The majority of the people are saying “Oh God”. There are some in the crowd, however, who ARE saying “Obama”. Still scary, but it’s not exactly what it appears to be at first.
I attend a church where we recite out loud prayers that end in “Oh God” and it sounds exactly like this. They are not saying “Obama” – they are saying “Oh God.” The participants are just out of sync. I know no one wants to believe this, as it takes the wind out of the “Obama is the anti-Christ!” theory, but go to a Episcopal or Catholic church and listen to the congregation say a group prayer. It sounds just like this.
I won’t be surprised when people DO pray to Obama but it really sounds like they are saying “Deliver us, Oh God.” Stuff like this getting posted just hurts the conservative cause.

After the first two repetitions you can hear one female voice become louder, with an emphasis in her voice, saying “God”. She seemed to be in close proximity to the person taking the video footage. But prior to that it seemed pretty clear that there were three syllables coming from the crowd, sounding very much like “O.ba.ma”.

I was there that day and we were clearly saying, “Deliver us, Oh God.” In no way shape or form was Obama’s name even mentioned during that event. Also, this was done back in December so whoever is posting this needs to check their facts. We were protesting the fact that millions of Americans are without Health Care and that is not how a just community treats it’s citizens. We were inside one of the major health insurance agencies offices in DC that has a horrible record of high premiums and abusing persons. The chanters started out less in synch – not sure how fast or slow to say it, so at first, there are many who are out of synch with the other chanters, and so “Oh God”, two syllables, sounds like 3 syllables – we hear the slower people finishing their two word phrase later than the others. As time went on, many in the crowd became more aware of the rhythm the others had, and so it became clearer as they went on that they were saying “Oh God”. If any of you go to church on a regular basis, you’ve likely heard such recitations – they’ll be printed in the program! This is nothing, and you all make yourselves look paranoid when you have such knee-jerk reactions!

I listened VERY CAREFULLY to this one, because at first, and probably because of the headline, I also heard “OBAMA”. However, when I listened again, CAREFULLY, it does say “GOD” and NOT “OBAMA”. First of all I am a community organizer with the Gamaliel Network (the same network that did this action). Second of all, this action was done in DC back in December, which I was a part of (I was there), before Obama was even inaugurated. Third of all, we are saying “Oh God” after every prayer and in no way shape or form was Obama’s name … Read Morementioned. I was there that day and we were definately saying “Oh God”. In no way, shape, or form was Obama’s name even mentioned that day way back in December.

They are NOT saying “Obama” — they are indeed saying “O God.” You do not really hear any “m” sounds in the chants. What makes it sound like they’re saying “Obama” is the fact that you have a group of people saying the same thing, but not directly in unison. Some people say “O God” quickly, and others saying it more drawn out. That is what makes it appear that there are 3 syllables instead of just 2.
At 2:23 you hear a woman distinctly saying “O God” quickly, but cannot be confused with “O-bama.”

I have good hearing, a fast PC with a good sound card, and high quality Altec Lansing speakers. I ran through the entire video once… and then listened again a second time (after it has been completely buffered to my PC).
In my opinion, the sound is not distinct enough to make a firm judgment of exactly what the crowd was saying. It actually sounded like some people may have been saying, “Hear our cry, Obama!” while others were saying, “Here our cry, oh God!”… So, it’s entirely plausible that the recording contains a mixture of BOTH.

What upset me was the clergy calling Martin Luther King a prophet. He was a good man but not a prophet.

I’m sorry but this is extremely sad to see drivel like this published by ANYONE who claims to be moral. The subtitles on this video are pure deception. I’m an English professor and a pastor deeply concerned and embarrassed about the honesty of many Christians as well as media sources. The subtitles do not at all match what the people are saying. They are saying “Deliver us O GOD”, “Hear our cry, O GOD”, NOT once are they saying Obama. I can say this unequivocally as a professor of English with 15 years experience teaching English. The subtitles condition you to hear what just is not there AT ALL. There is no M pronounced and there IS a G. In addition it is very clear that TWO syllables are being pronounced NOT three. O GOD is two. O-BA-MA is three. People ARE sometimes saying things at different speeds, which superficially gives the appearance of more syllables than there actually are. It is extremely serious misrepresentation and deception by whoever added those subtitles. Anyone who is concerned about honesty will not promote this video or spread it. I am NOT a democrat or a republican. I voted for 8 republicans and 7 democrats this last election. But, false allegations have NO place in the lives of Christians, they should have no place in the media and they certainly have no place in civilized discussions. They fracture and alienate people falsely and the Bible calls all forms of dishonesty abominations. I personally have lost $170,000 due to lying business partners which has also severely damaged my marriage and it has been so extremely painful. I can’t let any shade of deceit go by without confronting it as the demonic, hideous, destructive evil that is damaging to human relationships and integrity that it is. I hope that the moderators will put this at the top of the comments list since dishonesty should have no place in a civilized society. It is inhumane and unjust and dehumanizing to all.
One time I was at a funeral and the printed paper had the response, “Deliver us O Father/Mother” to replace a male God. Well, after the first time I realized what I was saying and continued the responses with the standard, traditional “…O God”. Others continued with just ” ….O Father”. And some continued with the program. By the last petition, even though leader has microphone, the “….O God” was the loudest and most adamant. Just food for thought.

I am not an Obama lover or hater, but I absolutely hate many of the things he is doing to and against this country…but in this video, even though hugely liberal, I do not hear them saying “Obama”, but “O God”. They’re just not in sinc with each other. Beware the power of suggestion. Not to say that some in the crowd, who will admit that they do not believe in God, could be saying “Obama”, but that is not clear to me.
What’s sicker is the kids singing songs to Obama, even to the Battle Hymn of the Republic. I bet that the kids have never been taught what that is.

This is based on the format of the “Prayer of The Faithful”, and I would not be surprised if those saying “Deliver us Obama” have never set foot in any church (small c) in their lives. Given the twisting of scripture (self-evident ab initio, it’s a woman pretending to have authority in persona Christi), as well as the use of “Balm in Gilead” and “physician” (where the sense is primarily spiritual, not material), equating Jeremiah (the wailing prophet) with Martin Luther King jnr., and the context supplying prophetic status to Obama and his healing mission (to which Israel [USA] will not listen), it should be no wonder that the clueless see no problem with saying (they aren’t praying, as prayer is defined as “raising one’s heart and mind to God”) “Deliver us Obama” (the healing prophet).

Ok, here is what I heard. First of all they called upon Jeremiah, then they called upon the prophet Martin Luther King, so why is a jump to think they are saying deliver us Obama? In the beginning just as the people from outside were coming in, notice the people up front are reading off of something. The people that came in were not. I think the intention was to say Obama throughout, but the people in the back just assumed they were supposed to say God and you can notice where it begins to sound more like God at the point the camera swings around to the crowd in the back.

A friend sent this to me on Facebook, I did not hear a prayer to President Obama but a version of the Liteny. The person stating the prayre was robed in traditional church garb. No mainstream church prays to a human. It is blasphamy. Find what church she belongs to, prove your concern and this persion will be excommunicated. Or inform the home church and let the congregation know this has happend. If this is true this person needs to be presented as straying far from church doctrine.

There’s something positive… at least no one has written asking what’s wrong with the allegation.
This is why there making us the ones with a moral sense of being and ones who have learned to take care of thy self over these people who are in the belief that Social Justice should be the norm and should be given to them and nothing or no one should have to work for anything they receive. We also have all the Drive By media who share these very same beliefs or else they would be reporting on these stories instead of Just Fox News and other media outlets which makes it that much easier for BO and his administration to laugh all these types of rhetoric off as just a group of people doing there own thing !!!
We must fight for our Country for what we as a People were taught to be and not what one people or group believes should be just because they feel deserving of. I find it incredible funny how people like my Parents who are democrats since they were involved in politics now in there 70’s still believe the Democrats today are the same Democrats of yesterday and believe it or not it’s really hard to show them the light that what is happening today is and has been a plan in in progress for many years, decades and were allowed to happen right before our very eyes and no one, not one group on there side tried to stop this train wreck that is a coming !!!!

To comment on what there saying, I believe I heard a mix of words but the ones i did hear is in reciting the words from the Chaplain our followed by praise Obama is distinctly audible IMO and believe there are many in the group who were answering with the normal verbiage from what they are use to saying while in church so that’s were the mix is coming into play here.
You people really believe they are saying “Obama” and not “Oh, God”? Turn up your speakers, turn down Glenn Beck and listen. Try listening with your eyes close instead of reading the screen.
I also think it’s funny how everyone is against community organizations but no one wants to stop funding Xe and Haliburton and all the other companies that use government money and have actually been accused of crimes.

Any group that thinks that Martin Luther King was a “prophet”, misunderstands what a prophet is.
In the video, the group that is coming into the building before the big speech, sounds like they are saying, “Everybody in, you’ll find out”.
During the speech, it sounds very much like the majority of the crowd is saying, “Hear our cry Obama, and Deliver us Obama.” I think a minority might be saying, “Deliver us O God”.
I have read the book of Revelations and believe that we may very possibly be living in the times when Christ will come back for his people. We need to put our trust in Jesus that HE will deliver us, and not obama. God has more power than satan.
I need a verse and scripture that says anyone can pray to Obama. “Jesus is the only door of access to God”. “If any one trys to get in any other way, he is the same as a thief and a robber”. Thats what the Bible says. The things we ask for should only be be asked for in Jesus Name. Obama is just a man, and a very poor one at that. He shold be bowing out when he sees men pray to him. God may have to bring him to his knees. A man in scripture took away Gid’s glory for his own and ended up falling off of his bench and breaking his neck, I pray for Obama’s salvation, not for men to be ruled into Socialism by him nor any other. Obama is called a Black African. He has a black father and a white mother. Check out his extremely light colored skin. I say he is white. I am just as right as they are.
