She is talking in terms of race in these two clips, but who is she speaking to? The NAACP about black issues. The funny thing is although she sees everything through a racial lens she seems to blame black people for their plight (we had 15 million acres of land but have sold most of it) rather than evil white people. Would that the NAACP would get the message and realize the plight of black people in this country (for good or bad) is not the result of white racism but black achievement (or lack of it.) At the very least, it would be nice to provide an example post, since racism accusations are cheap currency in today's political discourse.

The only reason why anybody of any color would make it a point to highlight the color of a person in a story when speaking to those of the same race is to incite displeasure / disgust within the audience. So you're willing to make excuses for an organization whose sole purpose was the betterment of a particular color by saying "look at who she's speaking to" is a bit racist. Breitbart touted the video as evidence that the NAACP and the Obama administration tolerated racial discrimination against White people, saying that it showed Sherrod’s “federal duties are managed through the prism of race and class distinctions.” Breitbart’s doctored video and false storyline moved quickly to FOX News, where on-air personalities called for Sherrod’s firing.

The truth is that Sherrod was telling a 24-year old story about her work for a non-profit organization whose mission was to help Black farmers. Discrimination against Black farmers was rampant, and she described how she was first reluctant when approached by a White farmer named Roger Spooner for help (Sherrod also says that her father was killed by a White farmer 45 years ago). But after seeing that no one wanted to help Spooner, she worked to save his farm, and eventually became good friends with his family.

Yesterday, Roger Spooner said that Sherrod saved their farm and kept them out of bankruptcy. He told CNN, “I don’t know what brought up the racist mess. They just want to stir up some trouble, it sounds to me in my opinion.”

After reading some of the posts herein I can't help but wonder what could have been more repugnant that these to have them deleted by the administrator. If you people had taken the time to research this story, as you probably expected your #1 station, FOX NEWS, would have, you'd know that Shirley Sherrod did nothing wrong. In the video, had anyone taken the time to listen, she was telling a story about someting that happened many, many years ago. What a great story – BLACK LADY IS RACIST TOWARD WHITE FOLK! This video clip was altered by Mr. Breitbart. The original clip suggests something very differently than what he made this clip to suggest.

Feel and say whatever you desire, he may be going to prison for several felonies associated with the altering of this film clip for his advantage.

Mr. Breitbart may be seeing real prison time for cutting and pasting this video together. Beyond defamation of character, he used a computer to commit a crime which is a federal offense, and by so doing he also committed interstate commerce laws.

Since he didn't care whose life he ruined for his gain, I would encourage the judge to have him spend the next five years in prison. If he can flippantly ruin another persons life for his gain, then there is no reason the courts shouldn't take a good five years away from his life.

And honestly, that's being generous.

Just because someone loves the Tea Party and hates the NAACP doesn't give Mr. Breitbart a reason to pick on innocent and good citizens for his political gain. To suggest such means that nothing matters other than power and who happens to be in power.
