What a coincidence! I stopped taking YOU seriously when you started lapping up Obozo during the campaign.

Conservatives don’t need you, idiot RINO. Republicans wrote you off a long time ago.

New York, NY   November 15th, 2009 - 6:27 pm

Who is David Brooks? Never heard of him. Sarah Palin well everyone has heard of her. You can draw your own conclusion.

Ann Gaede   November 15th, 2009 - 6:27 pm

Yeah you liberal fools but shes not going away.

DA BEARRRS   November 15th, 2009 - 6:27 pm

And she will be laughing all the way to the White House, while David Brooks is the Chef Editor of the Long Island Shopper.

CON-servative Hypocrite   November 15th, 2009 - 6:28 pm

The Caribou Barbie is a joke, and main stream America knows that fact. I’m glad that someone in the media finally said it. And most woman can’t relate to her. The woman makes up stories just to try to fit in. To get woman on her side. Sara doesn’t even take care of her own children, her eldest daughter does, she is the mother of that family. Sara Palin isn’t even there. She pushes her children out on stage and holds what she calls is her retarded baby just to make herself look good. Do woman in America want to look up to her? Do woman in America want Sara Palin to representing them. I mean really?????

B Holland   November 15th, 2009 - 6:31 pm

God bless David Brooks ! Thank you , David. Nothing more has to be said. Keep up the great work .

von Schriltz   November 15th, 2009 - 6:31 pm

What a DB! Brooks is a country club RINO ! Take is advice the GOP wouldn’t win a POTUS election for the next 100 years . Hey Brooks – stick to your wine & brie elitist smug A hole crowd on Martha’s Vineyard – or in your case maybe Provence Town is a better crew for you.

Pot calling the kettle black alert!!!!!

RobbieK   November 15th, 2009 - 6:40 pm

I agree K, David Brooks is the “forgotten man”. He is the enemy within and not taken seriously.

Freddo   November 15th, 2009 - 6:41 pm

David Brooks is an elitist who shouldn’t be taken seriously by any real conservative. I’m still waiting for him to recount how many times he’s gone down on the candidate Obama.

pizzaman   November 15th, 2009 - 6:47 pm

Heeey DORK. Hey Dork.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXIwCWFfUJE Brooks was runner for this part in Police academy…

B Holland   November 15th, 2009 - 6:52 pm

What’s wrong with being an elitist ? LOL. Just because you people barely have a HS diploma and/or make minimum wage , anyone else who has a Master’s degree or higher is automatically an ” elitist ? ” Go back to the woodlands and continue to defend sub standard humans like Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh. Thanks again , Mr Brooks ! You said it all.

E-dog   November 15th, 2009 - 6:52 pm

Some of the critizism of Palin I agree with. However she is the kind of person I relate to. She represents the kind of people and culture which fight our wars and and have always made this country great. Which is more than anyone can say for 90% of the people on TV who sit around and mock her. She should be taken at least as seriously as David Brooks who represents everything that makes America mediocare.

“yes we can” that is something that deserves to be mocked.

Hooter   November 15th, 2009 - 6:53 pm

America…the joke is going to be on the “mentally unstable” Democratzi and their media henchmen!

She was more qualified than Bilderberg Bush-Obama (a community agitator as his only job) and Joey Biden (the mouthpiece of stupidity) in the last election but, unfortunately, she had an inept running mate!

Governor Palin is a force to be reckoned with for the future!

She is a smart woman and a conservative woman…and that is why she is so hated by the left!

She has much to learn in the next 3 years…but I believe her to be a quick study and will accomplish the task and come back stronger than before!

She was held down by the moderate “fence sitter” McCain and they used her as a pawn to be played for their own interests!

He is a despicable moderate “fence sitter” that needs to go…and Governor Palin who ran the largest State in our Republic…will move on to have a place at the Republican table as a great conservative…guaranteed!

You go Sarah! Don’t let them deter you with their attacks and innuendos…don’t let them intimidate you…they have done the same to us “real” Americans speaking up and speaking out!

We believe in America, we believe in the conservatism of our founding fathers, we believe in our Constitution and we believe in “real” Americans who are fed up with what the “mentally unstable” Democratzi are doing to destroy our country from within!

GOD bless you and keep you and arm you with all the information you need to help take back our government from the “mentally unstable” Democratzi!

You go girl!

chaz   November 15th, 2009 - 6:55 pm

Brooks’ allegiance is to the intellectual elite. He has far more in common with Krugman, Friedman and his NYT colleagues than to conservative or republican ideology. Like so many of the overly-educated, sophisticated city dwellers, Brooks can’t begin to fathom how it is that the great unwashed don’t humble themselves to their intellectual betters, i.e. him.
Nothing enrages a snob like Brooks more than a populist. Imagine, she had the temerity to write a book. It doesn’t even have an index. Clearly this must be the work of a clown.
Fortunately, I’m old enough to remember that these are the same words used to describe Ronald Reagan. And, I’d bet the same things were said of Lincoln by Brooks’ Univ of Chicago crowd.
Brooks speaks for so few republicans and fewer conservatives that it would be difficult to find any that would refer to him as either.
But take heart. Our left-wing idiot is marginally more palatable than theirs is.

von Schriltz   November 15th, 2009 - 6:57 pm

I have a PhD , don’t live in moms basement & recognize the RINO elitist for what they are – the “smart” guys that keep losing elections. Call all the names you want there sport. The true conservatives in the GOP are taking the party back. Like it or lump it. It’s happening & we will win in 2012 most assuredly without the “smart” people like you .

piratemacfan   November 15th, 2009 - 6:59 pm

Quick, somebody tell CON-servative Hypocrite—

‘Woman’ has a plural form.

And that lots of women are inspired by this loving mother who took on, successfully, a good-ole-boys network in Alaska. And lots of men are inspired, too.

Perfect? no. President? perhaps not. A joke? Absolutely not.

Freddo   November 15th, 2009 - 7:02 pm

Sarah Palin is a populist, out of the Reagan mold, except female. She has a clear sense of right vs wrong, conservative values, and the moxy it takes to run a country.

David Brookes, on the other hand, is a complete elitist boor who can’t comprehend how anyone without a pedigree could possibly be a leader. For guys like Brookes, Obama is their man – as we like to say in Texas “all hat, no cattle.”

Jack Ryder   November 15th, 2009 - 7:04 pm

Left Wing Liberal Dopacrats hate America, they hate our beloved soldiers and they are the most racist scum you will ever encounter, bar none. They are mean spirited bigots, full of hate. Nobody is listening to them so they are getting hysterical. Who the hell is David Brooks ???

I DISAGREE! The Republicans ARE dumb enough to nominate Sarah Palin, co-author of GOING ROACH.

The religious fanatical right wing extremists, lead by their imam-messiah, Flush Limbaugh, are quite easily converted to violence and hatred.

The Republidumbs are total idiots and cling to their radical sect leaders, guns, and racial hatred. They are NOT patriots….they are destroying our freedoms by their rants and dirt.

Tim   November 15th, 2009 - 7:16 pm

Man it is driving these guys CRAZY seeing Sarah gain popularity by the day, now they’re hearing more and more of her becoming the Republican nominee for President and it makes there blood boil. I mean this guy is calling the 2008 vice president candidate “A Joke”…if that doesn’t make him look totally desperate I don’t know what does. Bill Maher and him would make a great team.

These people should be a little careful what they say because there words might be shoved right back down there throats in 2012.

Parah Salin   November 15th, 2009 - 7:18 pm

Failin Palin, Queen of the half-baked Alaskans is a liar and a fraud. Of course the Republebutts love her…she is a whackjob religious freak, narcissist, arrogant moose-shooter with a sl**tty daughter and a biker bubba husband.
Just a typical family-values Republican! YOU BETCHA!

David Brooks   November 15th, 2009 - 7:54 pm

David Brooks you are a joke, Who would take you seriously? We have serious problems in this country. Barrack Obama is still trying to handle these serious problems….the ones he created remember that his administration stating not to let a disaster go to waste. Who would take Barrack Obama seriously?? The American people better…while we have nobodies like you saying this nonsense about Sarah Palin, Barrack Obama is destroying our country. Where do you get your talking points…Duh?

THIS... IS CNN   November 15th, 2009 - 7:56 pm

Dear Sarah,

Please appear on CNN. Any of our shows would love to have you as a guest. Larry King has pledged NOT to be inappropriate.

Please, Sarah, WE NEED RATINGS!!

Yes, we know Lurch will ALWAYS do a http://www.LIVESHOT.cc for us.

TulsaMark   November 15th, 2009 - 7:58 pm

David Brooks doesn’t understand her appeal for millions of Americans. She believes in:
* less government
* drilling for our own oil and natural gas resources decreasing dependency
* strong defense and winning our wars abroad to protect the homeland
* less taxes
* emphasis on self-reliance and personal responsibility

She is able to intelligently articulate these positions in a way that resonates
with people.

Brooks believes in:
* more government to manage our lives, our economy, including healthcare
* increased taxes if, in his view, it stimulates growth
* pulling out of both Iraq and Afghanistan and reprioritizing the funds used
to support those wars toward domestic programs

He is not able to debate Palin on substance and so adopts Alinsky’s mode of
mock and ridicule.

Joe Lender   November 15th, 2009 - 8:07 pm

David Brooks is conservative, compared to Chris Mathews, he’s just not as popular in the ratings game. Go David Go. Conservatives got your back, brother… even Dede Scozzafava supports you.

SARAH, DON'T RUN, JUST THROW (YOUR SUPPORT)...   November 15th, 2009 - 8:13 pm

Here’s the thing:
Sarah Palin is a beautiful, gutsy woman whose very name seems to work magic. What she SHOULD do, rather than get all starry-eyed about holding office in the White House herself, is figure out (along with the rest of us) WHO is a VIABLE CANDIDATE to replace the Big O., and then ENTHUSIASTICALLY THROW HER SUPPORT ONTO THAT PERSON. Let her work her magic into SAVING our Republic!, not deluding herself that she can save it by “serving” it as Pres. or V.P.

Because if Sarah runs, America may be doomed to FOUR MORE YEARS of O-ness, but if she SUPPORTS A TRULY VIABLE ALTERNATIVE TO THE CURRENT REGIME, America stands a chance to get out from under the repressive regime now undermining our country and way of being.

Do it for AMERICA, Sarah!

TulsaMark   November 15th, 2009 - 8:15 pm

David Brooks is not a conservative. He is enamoured of the administrative state
and believes government has the answer for all of our problems if it is
managed properly. That is not a conservative position. Conservatives don’t
like David Brooks.

jason   November 15th, 2009 - 8:20 pm

Good, when she cleans their clocks in 2012 then they’ll say they didn’t see it comin.

Spoken just like the elite on the left, the elite in the Republican (not necessarily conservative) party thinks that anyone that doesn’t have an Ivy League school pedigree is a hick.

JClemens   November 15th, 2009 - 8:34 pm

Talk show host…TALK SHOW HOST?????!!!!!!. Who in the hell is this David Brooks? Were you ever a Town council member much less a GOVENOR????? HMMM?
THis is the largest state in our union. They din’t let talk show hosts
become govenor. She didn’t make it there on her looks either buddy.
Sarah palin is dissed by the media SNL and the other disparaging kooks because she scares them to death. She is a very polarizing speaker, but she’s a woman, she speaks the truth she investigates and prosecutes scammers. She scares people.Katie Koric only wishes she had 1/16th the amount of intelligence and/or looks Sarah Palin has.
Sarah Palin is intelligent is articulate and knows a hec of a lot more about patriotism than our (raised by Muslim’s) president. Most of the people who state that she isn’t smart are only repeating drival they have heard and cannot really demonstrate why they think it .Sarah may be in our future someday and you better hope she is because she will be on OUR side.
Our , meaning the USA , America, Land of the Free , Home of the Brave as our current joke of a president has forgotten

EEuro   November 15th, 2009 - 8:36 pm

By 2012, the political situation will be the same as 2008, any republican candidate will win against Obongo.

Only the primaries will matter.

Todd Palin   November 15th, 2009 - 8:49 pm

And we can see Russia from our house!!

Hostile Knowledge   November 15th, 2009 - 8:57 pm

Yes, of course Sarah Palin is a joke. That’s why progressive morons like Brooks are constantly having to change their diapers. Why? Because Palin has them so terrified that it makes them crap all over themselves.

When someone is truly insignificant, you don’t pay any attention to them. With Palin, progressives sound like screeching tree monkeys.

Sarah Palin in 2012!!!

claspur   November 15th, 2009 - 8:57 pm

I don’t know the man? Seen him a few times… seems like a douchebag to me?

Ann R. Gaede   November 15th, 2009 - 9:01 pm

The “joke” is that America was designed to be governed by Average Americans. Governors of states are above even average, you Elitist SCUM!!!! Lay off th best candidate since Ronald Reagan – a “liteweight actor”.

mjdzfUN   November 15th, 2009 - 9:04 pm

Sarah Palin is one tough woman. The left is so afraid of her and they go to extremes with Saul Alinsky’s playbook…including, I suspect throwing his actual book at her and she just does not back down, doesn’t give in and won’t quit. No wonder they hate her!!! I know of no other public figure that has taken the abuse that Mrs. Palin has and is still standing. I wasn’t sure of her during the McCain campaign, but I really do admire her right now. This is someone I would want to have my back in a tight spot.

Shiori   November 15th, 2009 - 9:05 pm

I love how liberals think that ‘American women don’t relate to her’ – shows how out of touch they are with real people. Sorry douchebags, most women in this country aren’t hairy legged, man hating, late term abortion having, Lilith Fair attending, Al Gore worshiping, celebrity emulating, liberal Janene Garofolo-like freaks. In fact, all major polls show that most of the country in general is right-of-center politically and philosophically.

anne can   November 15th, 2009 - 9:14 pm

We have to purge ourselves of people like this they give conservatives a bad name. These “news” shows wouldn’t dare put on a real conservative.

Ephram   November 15th, 2009 - 9:19 pm

Wow – you libs sure do hate normal people. What elitist snobbish trash you are. LOL!

IceCream Rover   November 15th, 2009 - 9:22 pm

I like the wizerd of OZ. Barack is that wizerd.

Chuck   November 15th, 2009 - 9:27 pm

She is a joke, to me. The problem is that Obama is 120 times the joke she is and anyone who says it is viciously attacked ‘alinsky style’. I am sure Palin could do more good than damage for this country and, of course, Obama will do an exponential amount of harm before his time is up. Why can’t these so-called “intellectuals” see that their own guy is a huge joke in a not-so-funny kind of way?

Barry   November 15th, 2009 - 9:38 pm

Since when did Palin become a “talk show host”???? Appearing on Oprah hardly confers that title on anyone. The joke is actually on the NYT. How’s the subscription circulation coming Mr. Brooks?

Ron   November 15th, 2009 - 9:46 pm

Hahahahaha, Mr. Brooks looks like your beginning to panic a bit. Palin 2012 if she run’s and I like what she say’s she’ll have my vote.

Greg Klug   November 15th, 2009 - 9:58 pm

David Brooks spends his life wishing he were right about things…..especially when it has to do with “his” party.

What a mope.

PosterToddPalinIsanIdot   November 15th, 2009 - 10:09 pm

And the idiot who posted under the name “Todd Palin” is an Obama voter idiot. Sarah Palin never said “I can see Russia from my house”, that was Tina Faye on Saturday Night Live, idiot. Go see yourself on http://www.howobamagotelected.com.

Rob   November 15th, 2009 - 10:11 pm

Sarah is a threat to the left wing fascists. Sarah Barracuda could take the effete, ineffective, poser Obumma in a bare knuckles bout, basketball, OR any other contest you’d care to mention – including giving a major speech sans prompter. She can out shoot, out govern, and out-lead BHO.

Hussein Obumma is a small man who would put petty politics above the welfare of this country. The American people will not forgive that.

Hey, Barry, which communist is advising you this week?

Reality Check   November 15th, 2009 - 10:12 pm

David Brooks is simply stating the opinion of what the liberal media thinks of Sarah Palin. Without President Bush around anymore, the liberal media need someone else to mock and ridicule incessantly as the “Republican” image. Sarah Palin fills that void; Democrats and the liberal press would love to have Palin run for President. They are hardly scared of her candidacy. And, like it or not, Palin’s public image as a Presidential candidate is too damaged for Independent voters, no matter what her message is.

Carolynn   November 15th, 2009 - 10:18 pm

When Brooks is doing the talk circut he always brints up a story about some Republican who put his hand on his thigh and did not let go.

Has anyone else heard tell this story a millon times?

When David comes clean about his teabagging relationship with the GOP member who could not stop touching his juicy thigh, then maybe I’ll listen to him.

DBrooksTheNYTimesFascadeConservative   November 15th, 2009 - 10:28 pm

The only Joke is David Brooks himself. The NY Slimes parades him around like he is some Conservative. Really? How can you tell? David Brooks is a bed wetting whimp Liberal.

DavidBrooksEnemyOfAmerica   November 15th, 2009 - 10:30 pm

Mr. Left Wing ideolog & bed wetting wimp Brooks will soon have egg on his face when Mr. Jeremiah Obama is forced from office.

Rick   November 15th, 2009 - 10:43 pm

They hate her because she is good looking, pro-life and she really did get things accomplished in Alaska. I like her because she knows about domestic energy and we need it now.

LK   November 15th, 2009 - 11:35 pm

CON-servative Hypocrite –

Not only should it be “WOMEN” — do the woman the simple courtesy of spelling her name correctly — there’s an “H” at the end!

Your lack of attention to simple details makes it hard to take your “opinions” seriously!

R. Reagan   November 15th, 2009 - 11:38 pm

I hate to say it, in fact it pains me to say it…but as a serious long-time non-elitist conservative Republican I think Brooks is “sort of” right. I just don’t think Palin can handle pressure the way that a good leader should be able to. For Pete sake, if Katie Couric can get her flustered and make her look like an idiot then I think she’ll get into a debate setting and choke badly. She gave a great speech at the RNC convention…but heck Hussien Obama did in his as well. The commonality in both is that they had great speech writers and the crutch of a teleprompter. Let’s face it, she has no viable economic policies of a Romney, no ability to articulate under pressure like Huckabee & no believable vision like a Pawlenty. What she does have is good looks and she’s not a RINO like McCain. Look, I just want to beat Obama in 2012. We’ve got to do lest the country as we know it and the freedom’s we once had will be long gone. And I just don’t think that Sarah is the best choice considering that the stakes are so high. Maybe she will blossom in these areas within the next year or so…but I’m not sold on her yet and neither is America. She’s still polling 3rd amongst Republican contenders for 2012. She just doesn’t have the chops yet.

Registered Independent   November 15th, 2009 - 11:46 pm

As with former V.P. Dan Quayle, Palin will never be shown respect by the MSM. Couric and Gibson helped provide her “potatoe moments,” and they will unfortunately never be forgotten. I don’t think libs are necessarily “afraid” of her. They just love getting in their digs every chance they get, as they did with Quayle. However, as a earlier poster noted, Palin can be very effective in rallying conservatives to an as yet, untarnished candidate, as she did with Hoffman. Politically, she commands attention to conservative viewpoints and free publicity. I wish her and her family well.

That is actually a great compliment, which means now Sarah Palin actually can do anything and everything! We are glad, and congratulations to the left, far left and extreme left for being extremely perceptive and correct for once about something.

SanFranciscoGo   November 16th, 2009 - 3:22 am

Mr. Brooks is THE Joke. Do a wiki on him – he’s described as a “third wave feminist”, which translates to “dork who derides good people for his own warped satisfaction because of a deep fear of a persons, especially women of much higher intellect”.

Don't Drink the Kool Aid   November 16th, 2009 - 5:44 am

Isn’t David Brooks gay? Just sayin….

So I Say   November 16th, 2009 - 7:21 am

Don’t you right wingers listen to Brooks and the other Republican Intellectuals.Ben Stein,Republican economist said the same thing last week on Larry King Live.

More than seven in 10 Americans (71 percent) think Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president, according to a new national poll.

Right wingers can turn this thing around. You need to donate to Sarahpac and send e-mails to encourage her to run for 2012.
If the others in the Republican primary go after her she can always whine and say they are picking on her because she is a women.
She helped Obama win in 2008 and she can do it again in 2012

Apparently, Palin will endorse and campaign for various candidates against their wishes; talk about going rogue. The ripping and tearing of Republican political flesh doesn’t keep me up at night. Sarah Palin is either a treasonous Republican…or a brilliant Democratic operative.

Too bad about those brave US fighters in Afghanistan & Iraq et all fighting the War on

Don’t yet know about her being president we are already living the nightmare of a “cult of personality” Pres.

My personal wish is that she’d do a more important job such as head of the NEW Conservative/ GOP / Tea Party- Party

Larry Flynt: Nooooo, if you had an ounce of brains you would know that’s not true. But, oh yeah, you morons on the left are dumber than a box of rocks, so, you wouldn’t know that.

Realist   November 16th, 2009 - 8:51 am

Uh, when polling indicates that over 70% of the country thinks she’s unqualified to be President, what does that tell you people… I mean, I know you don’t read real good and all, but take my word for it. 70% is a lot. That ain’t real good for your candidate there.

Lee   November 16th, 2009 - 9:19 am

B Holland, I’d like to take you out behind the wood shed and take a switch to you. You are obviously an elitist and your comments show why you and your brethren (marx, stalin, mao)should never have power of any kind. I would bet a years pay if you have an education, that it is in some worthless area dominated by leftists that cannot perform real work or produce anything of value. You wouldn’t happen to be named Gates would you? This is where you now call me names and use character assassination like a good leftist.

Republicancat   November 16th, 2009 - 9:57 am

We will see Mr. Brooks if she has the courage to rise to the occasion. Palin has more experience in Governing and common sense than our current president with his losing ten month spending spree run that is wrecking our economy, coupled with his apologetic world stance. Palin is well versed in energy resources management, government administration, national security, how to run a balanced budget, and she knows how to fish and hunt too. It is too bad McCain’s campaign staff was a pack of morons and did not utilize her talents, but suppressed her. His lost was not because of her, but in spite of her. McCain’s turn to be the most recent Mr. Milk Toast candidate was just that, his turn was much like the failed Bob Dole Milk Toast run. It is time to shelve the “who’s turn next is it” attitudes and go with someone who will make a difference and fix what is being perpetrated on the USA right now. It is going to be a mess by the time he is done with his socialist marxist planning. So the USA will need a lot of fixing by 2012. I think you are just a bit scared she might mop the floor with Obama’s butt in 2012. I don’t think Talk Show host is on her radar at all.

anne can   November 16th, 2009 - 10:02 am

BREAKING NEWS—Doug Hoffman just un conceded on Beck show

May I be the first and only one to point out the day after the election I posted on every website I could that something was wrong!!! Where was Malkin on this or anyone else? We need to be more proactive. He had been winning in the polls the day before the election…conservatives shrugged their shoulders on this one and walked away ACORN wouldn’t have.

SanFranciscoGo   November 16th, 2009 - 10:59 am

To: Larry Flint – It is still a Free Country and it is still OK for you to dream, hopefully someday you will wake up.

Andrea Throm   November 16th, 2009 - 11:00 am

What is ironic is that Sarah Palin is out promoting real change while this idiot, whom I have never heard of, is sitting there doing a talk show. Also Huckabee is predicted as the frontrunner at this time and he is the real talk show host. Mr. Brooks need to check his facts. Sarah could so use this against Huckabee as an example of bad Republican politics.

Kris Rigby   November 16th, 2009 - 11:03 am

Calling yourself a conservative who licks the shoes of the current President and the inane policies of the left is an extreme joke. It just goes to show the left fears this women. The bastion of left femi-nazi thinking and identity politics is considerably threatened by someone like Palin.

poetopoet   November 16th, 2009 - 11:07 am

Did hear one where the New York Times got bought out by Fox News Group and a mass suicide followed,
since they are all atheists no one showed up, for the eulogy.

Airwick   November 16th, 2009 - 11:20 am

Regardless of how you feel about Sarah Palin, you have to agree with one statement–she has managed to appeal to a segment of the conservative base and is indeed a “populist” leader. The last great populist leader in US history was probably William Jennings Bryant, who, although he was a Democrat and highly educated, shared many of the characteristics of Palin, including religious conservatism.

Republicans should also note that he ran for the Presidency three times…and lost.

Oooops!

K   November 16th, 2009 - 11:31 am

Well then, Airwick, I guess Palin has three shots left!

Keep shaking in them boots, Fool!

SanFranciscoGo   November 16th, 2009 - 12:02 pm

To: “Airwick” – nice try but we can still detect your foul odor. Sarah Palin represents a strong loving, mother figure to the leftists and they are seriously afraid, since they know that they have been very bad. The inevitable consequence will be a well deserved “spanking” from their “Mom” when she becomes President.

Airwick   November 16th, 2009 - 12:18 pm

K,
I am sure that Democrats would love to have her run (and lose) three times. That would mean another Obama term followed by two Biden or Hillary terms. Unless you like that idea, I would push for Mitt, Pawlenty, or Huckabee to step up. They at least have a shot.

And SanFran, “leftists” love the idea of Palin, the “strong, loving, (and ignorant) mother figure” running for office and are anything but “afraid” of her. Most of them see her as an easy win (for them) and are only “afraid” that she will NOT run as a result.

I would like to find a GOP ticket that I can support again. A Romney/Pawlenty ticket looks very good…especially if the economy does not come back by 2012.

SanFranciscoGo   November 16th, 2009 - 12:33 pm

Airwick – A Romney / Pawlenty ticket is an ignorant choice. That ticket is a loser. That’s a rino ticket.

Airwick   November 16th, 2009 - 12:44 pm

SanFran,
That is a ticket that will bring in the Independents. You need them to win. What is your ticket?

K   November 16th, 2009 - 12:47 pm

Airwick, I KNOW McCain didn’t single handedly draw 60 million+ votes in the 2008 election. It is a FACT that the appeal was Palin. People sat home and didn’t vote, others went with Wimp-O to protest, and yet the margin was a mere 7 pts.

THAT’S what the lib-turds are afraid of.

Palin 2012!

WTF idiots?   November 16th, 2009 - 12:53 pm

anne can – something was wrong?? According to who, you? Some degenerate sitting in her trailer with your 6 kids to 6 different trailer trash dads, knows something is wrong with the election? Why, because the Dem won? Go slam another Bud pounder, and get yourself to bed.

K   November 16th, 2009 - 1:02 pm

Take 2—-Breitbart, can you post my comment(s) please?

Airwick, I KNOW McCain did not singlehandedly receive 60 million+ votes in the 2008 election. It is a FACT that Palin was the appeal. Even with those who decided to sit out and not vote, and then those who voted for El wimp-O to protest, still, the margin was a mere 7 pts.

And THAT’s what the libtards are afraid of!

PALIN 2012!!!!

Peace Sister   November 16th, 2009 - 1:04 pm

David Brooks is a conservative?

irishkay   November 16th, 2009 - 1:31 pm

DAVID BROOKS IS AN IDIOT, AND ‘NOT’ A CONSERVATIVE’! He’s on McNeil-Leherer, a PBS troll…..that’s what he does…..he needs readers, listeners, and ‘pretends’ to be the conservative on the show……the whole show is bought and paid for by the Obambler administration! Let’s put it this way…….
if you get home from work, and you turn on the boob tube to get your news, you’re a boob! You don’t have a brain in your head, and you are sheeple!

and……welcome trolls……read the comments….you might learn something, really!

Airwick   November 16th, 2009 - 2:00 pm

K,
The reason that John drew as many votes as he did was because his staff bottled up Palin and kept her buried as much as possible. The fact is that a lot of Republicans and Independents stayed away from McCain because of her. Can you imagine what an unfettered Palin would have said and done? This is her biggest problem. Sooner or later she is going to have to answer some substantive “gotcha” questions without looking stupid. For her that will be a real challenge!

For the rest of you…what would you rather have…another four years of Obama/Biden or Romney/Pawlenty?

SanFranciscoGo   November 16th, 2009 - 2:18 pm

Airwick – Good question. It doesn’t seem like you like her much, for your own reasons. 2012 is still a ways away, but I would not underestimate Palin’s power and appeal. Hopefully a decent good ticket, will, emerge – we need to beat these leftest clowns back into there hole they crawled out of. Good luck to all of us. Vote.

SanFranciscoGo   November 16th, 2009 - 2:24 pm

(that should be “the hole that they crawled out of”)

poetopoet   November 16th, 2009 - 2:48 pm

Realist aka Airwick

get something right, your facts are outright lies, We the People say out loud In God me Trust. Your boy Obama is at the top of your bullshitter’s list, along with J. Carter and B. Clinton.

K   November 16th, 2009 - 2:54 pm

Airwick, “looking stupid”? And what does THAT have to do with anything?

All one needs to do is observe the all too comfortable bower-in-chief. Makes you want to run & hide from embarrassment to the U.S.

I will not underestimate Palin. We need to stick together if we want to beat the leftists.

PALIN 2012!

poetopoet   November 16th, 2009 - 2:58 pm

Realist aka Airwick

Take notice, your token one term president is the epitome of a Populist ruler.

a. A political philosophy supporting the rights and power of the people in their struggle against the privileged elite.
b. The movement organized around this philosophy.

Realist   November 16th, 2009 - 3:05 pm

Realist knows all about poles. But, enough about his smoking habits.

kmichaels   November 16th, 2009 - 3:10 pm

Airwick can’t help but look stupid, since he cannot hide his true self. The guy is a dope but thinks of himself as a clever observer. He is simply a moron that gets most issues arse backwards.

anne can   November 16th, 2009 - 3:30 pm

WTF you are about to lose a congressman pal

anne can   November 16th, 2009 - 3:47 pm

WTF Oh, and Who the heck am I to say “somethings wrong”‘?….The person who was RIGHT. A–.

WTF idiots?   November 16th, 2009 - 4:00 pm

anne can – way to use two posts to not make any sense! good work. idiot. i see you didn’t sleep off your bender too well there, sweet ti-ts.

Tim Goebel   November 16th, 2009 - 4:22 pm

David Brooks is an arrogant elitist tool; but even sadder, he is an ignorant boob.

This paid lackey for the leftist New York Times, this wannabe Judas Goat who has sold his political soul to the media left for a little fame and the figurative thirty pieces of silver hasn’t got a clue what true Conservative Republicans will do in a primary; and the idea that this no-talent scribbler who has never contributed anything of real consequence to the Conservative movement would stoop to name calling and dismissing a woman of true Conservative principals who has walked the walk and actually run for office, been repeatedly elected, and governed using Conservative principals makes me livid.

Palin 2012   November 16th, 2009 - 4:28 pm

Sarah Palin has the MAN shakin in his boots to resort to verbal abuse, by name calling. Oh and NOT making a decision on war is NOT dealing with it!!
The serious issue NY times man is that we need better people to serve us! Palin will serve and make a decision.

Bubba Redneck   November 16th, 2009 - 5:26 pm

The problem is…Brooks is not a “conservative”. He is a Beltway Democrat…which is what the NYT THINKS is a conservative.

pescado   November 16th, 2009 - 5:47 pm

who is david brooks? never heard of him but he doesn’t look or sound to bright.

Airwick   November 16th, 2009 - 5:49 pm

kmichaels,
I find it interesting that you have the nerve to call someone else stupid when you have yet to post an intelligent comment on this site. What you do best is throw around insults and post in other people’s names. Somehow you think that you are being clever but you really are just being sophomoric. Do you think that you can actually present an argument and back it up with facts or logic? Concentrate very hard and answer the question…what would you rather have…another four years of Obama/Biden or Romney/Pawlenty?

If you think that a Romney/Pawlenty ticket (which I support, not Mr. Obama) is liberal, then you really are on the fringe!

kmichaels   November 16th, 2009 - 6:26 pm

Airwick, you are stupid, so sorry if I pointed out the obvious. You get every key point arse backwards, which again makes you come across as, well, stupid. Insults being tossed out at you? Gee, like you stupid liberal trolls deserve better? Seriously. Do you trolls really expect human respect when all you have is a moronic counter intuitive thought process going on for you? After all, any idiot, you included obviously, that thinks Obama is a great leader is not only STUPID but they need to have their head examined for mental illness.

The reason McCain lost was MCCAIN for the most part. It is obvious that you POS liberals priming McCain as one of the good guys would not last once he won the primaries. You POS trolls undertsood McCain to be a non-winner from the start. That is why you and your ilk pretended to respect him. Of course, your true views of McCain were quite clear once he won the primary.

In any case Airwick, you remain one of the most stupid trolls on this board and no amount of discussion, smart or otherwise will change that fact. You are a very STUPID INDIVIDUAL and you are not getting any less stupid.

Whatwhatwhat   November 16th, 2009 - 9:47 pm

Palin/Joe the Plumber 2012!!!!!

Make it happen…please.

IceCream Rover   November 16th, 2009 - 11:40 pm

Mr Obama will give me free internet, Although I don’t pay for it now I park my Ice Cream cart close to the Starbucks to get free internet. I am hoping for stimulus check to buy a second cart. When I get free medical care it will be very good. I have a cash busines so taxes aren’t so bad. I don’t know what everyone is talking about.

RedCarolina   November 17th, 2009 - 12:59 am

Obama is the Joke In Chief — what an idiot.

Airwick   November 17th, 2009 - 9:28 am

kmichaels is obviously too dumb to answer a simple question. Thanks for proving my point.

Andrew   November 17th, 2009 - 4:43 pm

yes a joke, but i’d hit it.
