Sestak Stands by Claim White House Offered Him Job to Quit PA Senate Race

Fox News: Rep. Joe Sestak, who is causing heartburn for Democratic leaders by running against Arlen Specter for a Senate nomination in Pennsylvania, says the White House dangled a federal job in front of him in an attempt to entice him to drop out of the state's Democratic primary, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Friday. But the White House "vociferously" denies Sestak's accusation, which came during a taping on a local Sunday news show. A White House official told Fox News that Sestak is expected to "clarify" the allegation.

No use trying to figure out which democrat is lying here, they’re all lying.

Democrats are the Tiger Woods of politics, they enjoy three-ways with the truth and are trying to screw as many Americans as they can.

What’s a little fraud and abuse of power between friends?

fastfacts   February 19th, 2010 - 12:48 pm

I would not put it past the WH. They have done it before and they will do it again. If you can’t win the election you stack it. They have fired, slandered, threatened, and tried to buy off their opposition. The only thing they haven’t done is kill their opposition.

Doesn’t this violate some kind of Federal election laws?

This is corruption, offering Federal employment to influence the direction and outcome of an election.

Paul Thompson   February 19th, 2010 - 1:09 pm

Johnny Carson nailed lawyers with one of his “how cold was it?”jokes!
“It was so cold that lawyers were running around with their hands in
their own pockets!!”

This is very interesting! I never thought about it this way. Perhaps
this is why so many physicians are conservatives or republicans.

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers’ Party.

Barack Obama is a lawyer.

Michelle Obama is a lawyer. [disbarred?]

Hillary Clinton is a lawyer.

Bill Clinton is a lawyer.

John Edwards is a lawyer.

Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.

Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did
not
graduate).

Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd
Bentsen, went to Law school.

Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:

Harry Reid is a lawyer.

Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

President Bush is a businessman.

Vice President Cheney is a businessman.

The leaders of the Republican Revolution:

Newt Gingrich was a history professor.

Tom Delay was an exterminator.

Dick Armey was an economist..

House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.
The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer?

Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the
Republican nomination as a sitting President, running against Ronald
Reagan in 1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing
real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men
who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like
Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich..

The Lawyers’ Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and
services that people want, as the enemies of America .And, so we have
seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers’
Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil
companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large
retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in
our nation.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our
nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society
and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from
the mouths of lawyers, but from personal dreams nourished by hard work.
Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more
power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the world’s population and 66% of the
world’s lawyers!

Government Mess   February 19th, 2010 - 1:35 pm

One of their own rats out the Obama administration? Democrat Sestak was offered a job in the White House to get him out of the way of Arlen Specter’s re-election run, isn’t that illegal in any way? Bribery is fine as long you are in the White House it seems. There are no laws that can’t be broken in this Obama Hierarchy apparently. You name it they have done it in the law breaking department. With the media covering up all the truth, they can get away with anything. Fox News is a bunch of Crazy Right Wingers so don’t pay any attention to those Violent Radical Right Wing Extremists on that Channel, they will say. The only truth is coming from Fox News and Conservative Talk Radio!

Indeed, an interesting post. I would also like to add that before the founding of the United States of America, leaders of nations were either royalty that accended to power or they were great warriors, philosophers, thinkers, or religious leaders. What ever made us, as a nation, start to believe that a “barrister” had the ability to lead a nation?

Paul Thompson, a little trivia to add to your list,
I read just yesterday that certain professions tend
to make for the most dangerous repeat accident drivers.
Guess what profession had the most traffic accidents?
Yep, it was LAWYERS.

kmichaels   February 19th, 2010 - 2:13 pm

Here is the list of the leftist political leanings of certain professions

1) Philosopher (never worked a day in his life)
2) Lawyer
3) Climate change scientist
4) Self serving politicians
5) Career students, always learning, never coming to a knowledge of the truth.
6) College/University professors (failed in real life so teaches instead)

The Liberal Mind   February 19th, 2010 - 2:20 pm

The Constitution does not require a college degree to become a member of the House or Senate. Presently there are 27 House members and 1 Senator, or 5 percent, that do not have a college degree, according to the Congressional Research Service (Dec. 2009). Additionally, As it stands now, 169 House members and 57 senators not only have college degrees, but law degrees as well.

Since a college eduction is REQUIRED for many jobs including Commissioned military officers, police detectives and UPS dispatchers isn’t it funny it is not required for those that make the laws of our land! Interesting!

Calvin&Hobbes   February 19th, 2010 - 2:27 pm

More typical Obama White House tactics, if you can’t beat your opponent fair and square get him out of the competition.

libertarian416   February 19th, 2010 - 2:47 pm

My analysis is that there is one of two things going on here:

1. The white house really did offer him a job to get him out of the race and avoid wekening their vote for that seat between two candidates.

2. The White House is still involved, but by setting themselves up as the bad guy,
they allow him to distance himself from the WH, thus setting himself up as a populist candidate “the people’s hero”… which at this point is a much better campaign strategy for them than the
Obama kiss of death Harry Reid is getting.

Either way, throw the bums out!

HateSestak   February 19th, 2010 - 5:02 pm

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is probing Representative Sestak’s ties to UFCW Local 1776 President Wendell Young IV. The FBI suspects Young IV bribed Sestak in 2006. The Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) has also launched an inquiry into Sestak’s relationship with Young IV. Sestak is aware that he is under investigation, and is hoping to forge a deal: he will bring his floundering campaign to an end (and stop making comments like the one mentioned here) if influential Democrats and the White House intercede on his behalf with the Justice Department. If they do not assent to such a deal, Representative Sestak will claim that the federal probe was orchestrated by a White House bent on ruining his campaign. In the meantime, any funds that he raises can be swiftly deposited in a Legal Defense Fund. Doubt this version of events? Ask Representative Sestak if he is under investigation.

Donald Duck   February 19th, 2010 - 5:03 pm

To The Liberal Mind @ 2:20.
Yes the founders were not your run of the mill individuals,BUT,-and that is a BIG BUT- they recognized that the individual was more important than the government. That is why the congress was a part time job, so they could go back and live like free individuals and stay in touch with the REAL PEOPLE. When the Congress became overloaded with “college-educated” – usually lawyers? – people, the system began to slide.
Paul Thompson hit the nail on the head. Evey member of Congress, the White House staff and the major news outlets should get that posting. Of course, only Fox will mention it and then will be accused of making it up.

Oh, I agree. I was trying to make the point that the “elitist” mind-set that goes along with the House and Senete is undeserved. There are jobs that REQUIRE more education. I personally think we should have more truck drivers, construction workers, oil field roughnecks, farmers, and various other “blue collar” people in the Congress. (and I don’t mean union shills either). I’m sure things wouldn’t be quite as demure and gentlemanly, but that “esteemed collegue” stuff isn’t really working either!

LftCstCnsvtv   February 19th, 2010 - 7:02 pm

Be aware Joe Sestak, if they can’t dissuade you with the power of persuasion then they will attempt to dissuade you with the persuasion of power. They will do it to their own just as well as doing it to any Republican.

Rod Blagoiavich was taped for 6 months prior to his arrest for selling, among other things, a US Senate Seat, which Roland Burris now resides in. Democrats and future Democrats – What do you think is more likely – The then Senator Obama, Rham Emmanuel, David Axelrod, et al, had no communication with the then Governor Blagojoiavich or they did concerning the Senate seat’s sale? Democrats before you go wasting all that time money and effort running for office – imagine what will happen to your campaigns when that tape comes public? Democrats you had better wise up fast as to who is jerking your chain your about to end up on the wrong side of a bus.

I think it’s awfully racist to call it the White House. Perhaps the Rainbow House? Or since SEIU really runs the show, how about the Purple House? It’s time for change.
Since ACORN also got our Emir elected, how about the Nut House?
It’s all part of fundamentally transforming America into the new Roman Empire, what with all these Caesars. Caesar is just the Roman word for Czar, but it brings the idea closer to home.
The preferred term should be Caesar. Ave Ave Caesar. Ettu.
Let’s hope the ides are as troublesome as ever.

Gandhi's Fist   February 20th, 2010 - 6:47 pm

This really makes no sense. The only thing that needs to be realized is whatever dem is running for that seat, they’ll lose in an epic landslide due to the political malfeasance and Marxism of the dems. His admission to being a loyal foot soldier to comrade Obama, pretty much closed the door for him. Oddly, being such a toady for Obama, he didn’t take the job offer, perhaps Obama is too conservative for his tastes.

Gandhi's Fist   February 20th, 2010 - 6:58 pm

BTW: Paul Thompson–informative and accurate post.

The perception of dems is so highly manipulated, people scarcely understand just who they are. Not only are they constituted of Lawyers, they also hold much more wealth than do their counterparts in the GOP. Yet, if you where to ask the man on the street, just which party has members of greater wealth, he’d immediately point to the republicans as having money bags. Dems love this as it sets up the class envy they manipulate so well in order to hold on to power. Always exploiting the ignorance of the people. Considering just how poorly government (public) schools do at education, is it any wonder we have a government like this?
