I would point out that the right does the exact same thing. Bill O’Reilly has written a children’s book. George W. Bush was reading to kids on September 11th. Thirty years ago my child loved watching The Count, and Oscar the Grouch. I bought Sesame Street books and toys for her.

If what Sesame Street is calling education today was done 30 years ago I would not only not have bought their products – I would not have let my daughter watch their program. They are not teaching the kids cognitive thinking or weighing idea’s — they are teaching bias, pure and simple.

I find it hilarious that the people who are calling this brainwashing are probably forcing the bible on their kids, as if it wasn’t the ultimate form of brainwashing.

But I understand the reasoning. It’s much easier to plant the seeds of fear in the young impressionable mind. If you wait too long, and the child starts thinking, the window of opportunity is closed.

Look what happens to kids when they go to college and get educated! They turn away from god at an astonishing rate, because with intelligence comes the realization that religion was just a trick to keep you in line, by people who think you wouldn’t be able to figure out ‘morality’ on your own.

But Christians need not worry. We’ve intentionally priced higher education out of the picture for a lot of people, so there will always be a supply of uneducated people to fill the ranks of the army of ignorance.

For extra fun, see if you can actually get them to vote against something that would help everyone (the ultimate thing a Christian could do), such as health care reform.
