Banning military recruiters is important, but another issues have surfaced that demonstrates this person is not suited for Justice of the Supreme Court: She bent the law to keep two Liberal professors on staff at Harvard. They were guilty of stealing other people’s work, and presenting it as their own (Plagiarism). This shows Kagan will bend, or violate law to suit her FEELINGS about an issue. Unacceptable.

Second, she wrote glowing articles supporting socialism, and disagrees with America’s market economy. By reason our market economy and constitution are linked this too shows her opposition to how this country’s law and jurisprudence works in our system. A socialist does not belong in the nexus position of law in our country. In light of her past willingness to bend, shape, or violate law to get a result for people who support her political leanings, it is clear she will bring this attitude to the bench. Another liberal that nobody seems to know anything about. Jeffrey Toobin from The New Yorker magazine has known Elena Kagan for roughly 30 years and yet to this day he has no idea what her views are on basically anything! She has kept her past sealed up as tightly as Obama has kept his long-form birth certificate from coming under public scrutiny.

There are a few things we do know about her personally. She is extremely gay friendly and believes the LBGT community should have the right to marry (and consequently destroy the traditional meaning of marriage the world has known since day one in the process) and that she is Obama’s buddy from Chicago who both knew each other at Harvard apparently. We also know she is extremely liberal in her views, as evidenced by her view(s) and stance on gay marriage for one, and she has NO judicial experience WHATSOEVER! Even as Solicitor General she came out of nowhere and had NO prior experience in representing Government on legal matters pertaining to the Government and/or Supreme Court. Yet here we have Obama hiring her as Solicitor General based NOT on her qualifications or experience but because he likes her and she shares many (most) of the same liberal views that Obama does. That alone will get you a position in the Obama administration faster than anything else in my opinion. You lack experience or qualifications?? One, so you agree there is a question of consistency on Kagan’s part. Because she banned the military for following orders and not the originator of the DADT policy she has exposed herself as anti-military.

Two, Clinton implemented DADT as a compromise. Without DADT, homosexuals are strictly forbidden to serve in the military under Military Code.

Yes JPK, please enlighten us with facts to back up your assertions.

And to those of you who seem to have conservative political views that keep referring to the woman’s looks or (so far as I can tell unconfirmed) lifestyle choices, STOP IT! You are not adding anything of value to the conversation, and you are misrepresenting the vast majority of conservatives that deal with others with respect.

I don’t care what she looks like and all comments here that hammer her on her looks really make that side look petty. My only concern is that there is almost no way that she is more liberal than the man she is replacing, so she actually tilts the court to the right. That’s a good thing in my opinion. Just think of all the ACLU lawyers that could have just as easily have been nominated and been confirmed. I think the Republicans should either vote for her confirmation as a side of bipartisanship (even though I’m sure the favor won’t be returned the next time a Republican is nominated), or abstain altogether. It’s the president’s prerogative to have his nominee on the court. Unless he nominates a complete and utter radical, the nominee should pass. He could do a lot worse.

Obama .. please explain why judges that have sat on case after case after case, building their reputations so that some day they might sit on the Supreme Court, are being passed over for a … professor. The Supreme Court does not work by consensus, it works by the rule of law. The judges aren’t supposed to agree, they are supposed to hear cases and apply the law to them. I don’t really care about her opinions on gay marriage or anything else .. SHE HAS NEVER SAT AS A JUDGE AND HAS NOT EARNED THE RIGHT TO SIT ON THE SUPREME COURT.

All national elected officials take an oath to “protect this nation from enemies both foreign and domestic”… If Americans were truly smart they would start demanding impeachment proceedings with a charge “maladministration”, and impeachable offense for being incompetent and not governing in the best interests of the nation. In our southern border states we are witnessing an unprecedented invasion of our borders and an attack on our very sovereignty, yet the federal government does nothing to mitigate all the damage being done to our nation. 100 years ago does anyone believe any president or his administration would have allowed such lawlessness and unenforcement of the rule of law? And if so, does anyone believe he would not have been impeached and removed from office?

Like Obama, she is totally unqualified for the job. Imagine Obama in Novemeber of 2008 walking into any fortune 500 company with his resume and applying for CEO. He would have been laughed out of the building. Same with this woman, she is totally unqualified, yet she will get the job. Afterall, 52% of the electorate of the United States thought Obama was somehow qualified, even thogh he never had a real job, made a product, made a payroll, managed any employees or even ran a successful hot dog stand. Never underestimate the sheer stupidity of the voters of this country, they vote on emotion and popularity and likeability not proven competence!

How could a DEMOCRAT vote for Kagan who recently served on a Goldman Sachs advisory committee counseling clients? Goldman Sachs!
