The current bill as it stands don’t force the insurance companies to drop rates. and forcing me into buying coverage from insurance comapnies is NOT change i can believe in .
Offer the PUBLIC OPTION to the people at a dirt cheap price … and it will force the INSURANCE companies to drop their rates or risk losing customers to the government option. and you don’t need to raise income tax to pay for this just have a goods & service tax/ VAT , … problem solve , that prevents you from cutting into much needed programs.
Good to see Senator Alexander’s response to the President’s opening statements. Republicans finally got some air time to lay out a more conservative (ie effective) plan to lower health care costs. What disappointed me was that they did not get up and walk out after Obama claimed they were there to talk about the substance and not the process. The fact that they wouldn’t take reconciliation off the table makes the entire summit a political ploy that helps the Democrats. What leadership and power of the minority it would have shown had the Republicans gotten up and walked out. Oh well, guess I’m the fool for expecting anyone in Washington to stand up for the people…
…and did you catch Obama’s body language when Senator Alexander spoke? Arm behind the chair next to him, turned to the side, chin up – his arrogance and disdain for people who don’t agree with him makes me want to puke!

I’m a Nevadan. Here’s the facts. Nevada was a very conservative state until the rust and snow belt liberals moved here to retire. Add to that Illegals and we no longer are a solid conservative state. We’re a purple state.
