Remind me again what party supported slavery and which party made its abolition a major plank of its platform. As I recall the same party that opposed slavery also opposed women’s suffrage, and the party that worked to abolished slavery also worked to give women the right to vote.
And the same party that supported slavery from the get-go, and fought its abolition well into the Civil War is now trying to reimpose slavery — or rather a form of health-care serfdom, where all people in the United States will be held in thrall to the government through access to health care.
I could not imagine Reid as a slave owner. He does not have the sense or fortitude to run a small farm much less the vast fields that made up plantations. But, the one thing I could see him doing is selling slaves. He would not have to spend much for their upkeep, he would not care what happens to them after they are sold and he would have the money paid to him for the slaves. Just like the health care reform he is pushing. He only has to spend time writing it the way he likes it, since he has his government insurance he does not have to care what his constituents get in health care, and he will have the money he made while in government not representing the people who voted him into office.
He does not have to be concerned about people dying because his policy left them with medical rationing and non medical groups saying whether a person is to old or sick to pay for their recovery.

They have always been deeply religious, alot of them serving as pastor or preachers, they have never believed in Slavery, Big Government, Sexual Promiscuity, Homosexuality, or Abortion. They have always had a strong belief in the importance of God, Family, and Country, as well as a belief in personal intergrity and responsability. So, I’m not quite sure just exactly what “Social Issues” you think that the parties have switched sides on, but I have not seen it.

I and many like me believe that, yes we can make changes, but the proposals that are being made and voted on right now, do nothing, but increase the tax base of the FED and really does not address the real issues of health care. There are many systems out there around the world and we can pick and choose which one works best or use combination’s of these guideline to help create a better system.
1. Cap what a doctors and insurance company’s can charge for specific treatments. X dollars for X treatment. Hospitals as well.
2. Open up Insurance boundaries to allow insurance companies to trade or operate across state lines. Within state and federal guide lines.
3. Cap prescription costs for all Americans.
4. Set caps on pre-existing conditions.
5. Set caps on what insurance companies can charge for individual health insurance. This will affect 70% of all independent business owners who only have 2 to 20 employee’s. ( which I am one )
These are and will make the greatest impact to the people for this great nation.
Mr. Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Frank. Take heed, we are coming and we are coming big. All of you commies will be voted out of office and if that does not work we will revolt. I’ve chosen to begin this letter by not saying “Dear”, not calling you “Senator” and not calling you “Mr”. You do not deserve the respect of any of those titles except that of a lowercase “h”.
Your comments comparing opponents of health care “reform” to slavery and anti-19th amendment advocates are sickening. I can assure you that if I was in a job where roughly 30% of people approved of my job performance, I would no longer be employed by that company. Unfortunately for us real Americans, we no longer have a say. The Washington elitists get to make the rules regardless of what their constituents want. If you truly believe this public option (government run health care takeover) is the best choice for America, you will agree to an amendment in the bill that will sign up all of Congress.
Under your health care plan, you will be too old to qualify for most of the “benefits” that are being promised to us. I hope you keep that in mind as you continue on your journey to rob many future generations and ruin the nation.
I’m not some right wing nut that you make us out to be (bible-thumping racists). I’m just a 28 year old that lives in a suburban population and I hold a normal 9-5 job. I don’t go to church and I’m pro-choice (although I do NOT believe we should be funding abortions for anyone that wants to have one under your plan). I have never been very politically active but people like you, Pelosi, Obama and the rest of the narcissistic, sociopathic, radical left have made me feel an obligation to help. Sometimes, almost always actually, it is very frustrating but unless people like me keep themselves informed and keep up the fight to uphold the Constitution, we are going to lose this country.
