Most on here were equally against any of the bail outs – EVEN the crap Bush started before he left – we believe in the open market – if a company or bank is stupid or irresponsible then they need to fail. Remeber people think there has only been one – Bush had one and Obama has one and is looking to do another. The main thing is all of the spending that Bush did in 8 years was shadowed by Obama in his first 60 days.
And believe me my friend – I am not counting on Social Security at all. I’m planning for my retirement myself because the Government is unreliable.
And don’t forget that many of the issues with the banks were because they WERE stupid and bought bad mortgages – the same low income mortgages that the Democrats demanded were allowed regardless of those that could not and had not worked hard enough to afford those mortgages…….another example of the DNC pandering to the poor for their votes instead of helping people be more independent.

I was against ALL bail outs so please don’t speak for me! The best way for those bankers, etc to learn a lesson they wouldn’t forget (even jail wouldn’t do) is to have let them sink!

And I am all for the abolishment of Social Security and/or making it a CHOICE not FORCED.

Public highways are one of the finest examples of Socialism in America. So are public schools, public parks and public libraries. Not to mention Social Security and Medicare. And police departments and town garbage collections and public health care and so on and so on. Even benefits provided for Congress Members are a form of Socialism.So you good people that are complaining about Socialism,be sure you stop paying into Social Security.That way you can give up all your rights to collect under that Socialist program.

The idea that the road could build itself instead of getting money from the majority who use it defats your premise. Also the people from one town over do not pay for the police or firefighters in my town. Social Security and Medicare are broken systems that are abused by many lazy and fraudulent people and it was forced upon us by the fraud that was FDR.

And if I wouldn’t be tossed in jail I would opt out of Social Security in a heart beat. Just give me back what has been taken from me and that’s that. 2+2=4 every time. When the poor or uninsured go to the hospital and can’t pay, the hospitals pass that cost on to the insured. So you’re paying whether you like it or not. Wake up!

You can op out of Social Security any time you wish but you will not get your SS taxes back. You are not required to sign up for SS or Medicare and you will not be signed up auotmatically. You do not have to give a SS number for bank accounts but tax will be witheld in advance if you do not.

Some professions are allowed to substitute private plans instead of SS and not pay the tax(like congress). Most people receive more in benefits from SS that they paid into it in the form of payroll taxes if they have a normal lifespan or need more care than normal.

No surprise the leftists quote Wiki so often since this is an open source document that anyone who chooses to can edit. It has no credibility due to the fact that anyone can add their own political bias to the text.

It is the promise of Socialism and Communism but never manifests in practice.

Socialist countries have their elite aristocrat groups, usually the leaders making all the promises, that live the good life and far more disadvantaged classes who never see the promises come true. Castro lives in a palace. Stalin lived the good life while the rest of Russia suffered.

It is noteworthy that it is the leftists, socialists, and communists who hate America, even when they live the good life in America. Everyone else in the world considers coming to America the greatest opportunity of their lives and will attempt to get here any way they can, even illegally.

Our health care system is not broken, it needs more market intervention, not government. Man does not irritate the earth enough to change the temperature. For idiot RJ costs of uninsured going to hospital and missed preventive care for unisured amounts to about 1/5th of what Obama plans on spending just on the first round of socializing medicine. If you put the same amount of money that you are forced to put into SS into an average savings plan you would get back ten hundred percent more in return than you do with the current SS plan. That is the little part that the idiot democrats fail to mention,

The simple reason socialism tends not to work. Human nature tells individuals that if they work harder than the next guy they deserve to get more than the next guy. It has to do with rewards for effort. When a society has people that refuse to work for their own well being and still get all the same rewards the working class inevitably gets fed up with paying for nice lifestyles for drug dealers and thieves and simply gives up working. This kind of society ends up falling to pieces since common sense tells us that it is not only fair that harder workers get paid for their efforts but that if they dont get extra for extra efforts then they put out mediocre work at best and simply no work at all at worst. Human nature tells us that people should be allowed to get rich if they put out extra effort. Lincoln understood this principal quite well and said how stupid it would be for poor people to be able to tear down the wealth of the rich out of envy. He pointed out that poor people would be better off understanding that they too could beome wealthy. It has to do with basic human nature and proper rewards for effort.

Why can’t they just send the ILLEGAL ALIENS BACK HOME, and then we won’t have to PAY FOR THEIR MEDICAL CARE?

Is it true that *illegal aliens* will be covered by the proposed Health Care Bill? Is it true that Republicans tried to include wording that would BAR illegal aliens from coverage, and Dems refused to go along with that wording?
