He couldn’t just say ‘no its not true’? Conservatives have to put up with ridiculous questions all the time. Liberals are allowed to just walk out though.

peter c   October 24th, 2009 - 1:18 pm

First off this is NOT a religion as this creep claims…It’s a Cult…A Cult that uses Evil…that steals…tat lies…that belittles God HImself. They are so Arrogant…so h@teful…so selfish and full of lies…that they are shunned in some countries..

L.Ron Hubbert was a FALSE PROPHET! Jst as Mohaman was a FALSE PROPHET…Beware of these folowers of the Evil One.

SubjectoftheUSSA   October 24th, 2009 - 1:26 pm

They might be liberals but Scientologists are a whole other cult/problem. It’s beyond pathetic. I thought they were finally starting to crack down on these nut jobs over in Europe or France or somewhere.

Lisa   October 24th, 2009 - 1:33 pm

If you believe in your religion, which Scientology is religion to them but not to many, then you should stand up for what you believe. It is a cult!

WAIT A MINUTE!!!   October 24th, 2009 - 1:45 pm

Who the crap is going to pay for the wireless mic he just tossed on the floor???

I can answer the question and put it in perspective… Zena, the princess warrior, came from the planet Zootron. As she was beamed into the volcano, her clothes were burned off and she emerged with the biggest set of bazzongas and buttered muffin that anyone had ever seen. L. Ron Hubbard kept Zena in his basement for his own special pleasures. One day, the Muthuh ship came for Zena and she and L Ron got on board and went back to Zootron where Elron (new persona) learned the ways of Scientology. Upon his return he went to work taking lots of money from a bunch of dorks with the promise that one day they could peek in on Zena. The more they payed the closer they got to their chance. Nobody has ever paid enough to actually see her, but there is always still that chance. All of this is true because Elron’s autopsy showed that he had been smothered by an enormous muffin and a couple of giant bazzongas. That is Scientology in a nutsac…. Does this help?

Mork calling Orson   October 24th, 2009 - 1:54 pm

nah-noo nah-noo Mindy,

Oh! No! the human has discovered our plan for conquest of the planet SHOZZ-bot!!!! Quick we must board our Egg Ship and return to the planet Ork.

You know I have one question what flavors of cool-aid they serve at their meetings

pepito cojones   October 24th, 2009 - 2:08 pm

Creepy, weird, and diabolical. What’s do offensive about that question? So does Johnny Travolta and Tommy Cruise believe in these wacky aliens in volcanos too? Very scary indeed…

Scientology is recognized as a “religion” in the minds of the wealthy individuals who ascribe to the Lunatic teachings of its founder. Most of its members, already have most of the trappings of wealth, and apparently Scientology affords them the luxury of “buying” into a premise of other wordly acclaim. Beware, to all who might countenance actually belonging to such a “cult”. God himself decried all “To beware false phrophets. Amazing how some obviously talented and respected individuals have allowed themselves and their families to become so misguided. Then again, man in his/her ever curious desire to fathom the who what where and when in our lives, oft times finds that the explanations given in the Bible, is not good enough, and hence they tend to believe people espousing something akin to what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. There is tremendous difference between to two.

RobbieK   October 24th, 2009 - 2:22 pm

I agree, Scientology is a cult. Look at L. Ron Hubbard & his Dianetics creepy scam. Scientology is “all about me”. Tom Cruise is a great example. But either way, in the end, I would have walked out too from a Liberal network that is a racket, ABC.

Rexter   October 24th, 2009 - 2:25 pm

Scientology is almost as strange as that cult called Zionism.

Mark   October 24th, 2009 - 2:29 pm

I’m not sure what he was upset about?!? Is his outrage claiming that the Beliefs of Scientology that are published on the internet are false? Is he claiming it is against his religious beliefs to discuss his beliefs? Or does he realize the Alien origins that Scientology espouses sounds insane and that is why he doesn’t want to talk about it? These people are every bit as dangerous as the Moonies, Jim Jones and the Temple Church, David Koresh and the Branch Davidians. People die regularly in this country because of this religion. Travolta’s son was just the latest. Do a simple Google search to find out about the the real Scientology! They are truly criminal. People that have exposed them have disappeared. They charge large amounts of money for the privledge of learning their religion. And yet they are tax exempt because they are a “religion”. The FBI doesn’t investigate them because they are a “religion”.

humanpersonjr   October 24th, 2009 - 2:43 pm

All prophets are false prophets.

I love seeing Scientologists get steamed about some showing “disrespect.” Similarly, Christian, Jews, Muslims and especially Mormons should all be equally grilled. While I’m at it, I see no problem with atheists like myself being put under the light.

This was incredibly funny. “Don’t you know that question is offensive?”

Niles Lesh   October 24th, 2009 - 2:53 pm

Scientology has its own problems, but this interviewer baited Tommy Davis VP & head of the scientology celebrity center,(son of actress Ann Archer & #2 after David Miscavige) with this question. The Church of Scientology(COS) has historically not been responsive to this line of questioning. ABC knew this in advance, they also knew that a nice viral video of a “walk Out” would be a great promotional gimmick. I hope that the interviewer(Martin Brashir) has a clean record because LRONS people do believe in retaliation.

ABC is about as creditable as the church(COS) with these type of tactics

This baiting tactic would be similar to asking a rabbi if he thought that the Jews killed Jesus

PS. I am fond of the “aliens living beneath the planet” concept :)

The COS should embrace their own weirdness and say it loud Im alien spawn and proud !

Firebrain   October 24th, 2009 - 3:01 pm

I’m a Scientologist and and avid conservative actively campaigning against abortion, socialist health care, the decimation of religion (mostly Christianity) in modern America and a host of other conservative causes. It may comfort the inhabitants of this site and Big Hollywood to believe that Scientology is part and parcel with liberals and leftists but nothing could be farther from the truth. It’s a fairly big religion and philosophical system (mostly it’s that but that never gets mentioned) and as such has many people of all political persuasions. But the vast majority of Scientologists are a) not celebrities in Hollywood and b) not liberal/leftists and statists. Quite the opposite. One of the biggest critics of any form of socialism, communism and any other collectivist ism was LRH. And he would be appalled by the president and his party in power now. So, it’s fine for you all to call it a cult, brainwashing, scam, whatever. All religions are called that by at least someone somewhere. You can have your opinion about that. For instance most muslims would be horrified to know what I thought of their “religion”. But I won’t argue it with them. It would be an enormous waste of time to argue with you about it. But a charge that cannot go unanswered is that we’re leftists or liberals or somehow Scientology is affiliated with Democrats or anything else. There are some Scientolgists who are liberals and some who are conservatives and many who are moderates and many who don’t give a rat’s ass one way or the other about politics. They’re people just like you. To deride them them en masse about liberalism is smear only worthy of liberals and their lying campaign against Tea Parties and conservatives they find annoying. Also, I am far far far from wealthy as someone stereotyped above.

Let’s keep the fight focused where it matters; defeating this socialist health care scam, supporting our troops and defending our constitutional freedoms. You should be very worried about Obama, not someone who has a different philosophical system and beliefs from your own.

Thank you for reading. I mean no disrespect to anyone’s heart felt beliefs.

Booga booga booga   October 24th, 2009 - 3:03 pm

The Scientology robots will converge on ABC…led by mental zombies Tom “I’m 5′4″, but rich!” Cruise and Travolta accompanied by the Fembots!

http://www.solitarytrees.net/pickets/elrond/21coset.htm

Most of the Scientologists who work in their Dianetics* centres and so called “Churches” of Scientology do not know this story since they are not allowed to hear it until they reach the secret “upper” levels of Scientology. It may take them many years before they reach this level if they ever do. The ones who do know it are forced to keep it a secret and not tell it to those people who are joining Scientology.

stevenw   October 24th, 2009 - 3:12 pm

L Ron hubbard was no “false prophet”, he was a science FICTION writer and a pretty good one at that. That said, his “scientology” nonsense is just that as well, FICTION.

Bill Brandt   October 24th, 2009 - 3:21 pm

Well, kudos to the interviewer. There are some true journalists still out there. Throughout this interview I noted that he could have simply said “yes” or “no” but chose to try and put the interviewer on the defensive. He wanted to obfuscate the question.

What’s the saying about light shining on evil?

JP   October 24th, 2009 - 3:38 pm

And this is different from OBAMA cult how?

misanthropicus   October 24th, 2009 - 3:44 pm

Heh-heh-heh! Loved it! And is it surprising for any normal being that so many Scientology head are fervent Obama supporters?
Man, charlatans love company!
By the way, some weeks ago LA Times had a pretty ugly piece about Muscavige (?) the head of the church – apparently there is criminal law-suit going on, and the guy is a serial abuser. Actually I was really impressed, since LA Times wouldn’t normally say about Scientology anything going beyond… controversial, etc.

misanthropicus   October 24th, 2009 - 3:48 pm

Hey, everybody Scientology is not a cult. Scientology is a racket, first and foremost a racket and nothing more than that. Actually a very vicious and brutal racket that for some, still mysterious reasons, was allowed by the IRS and US Justice department to cruelly rob their followers.

misanthropicus   October 24th, 2009 - 3:55 pm

Sorry, slowly defeating my hangover – here’s more about Scietology.
So, it’s not only Travolta, Mimi Rogers, Chuck Corea, Will Smith or Tom “It’s A Blast!” Cruise – the Scientology mouch has deeper, with blackmailing power connections in Hollywood:

Remember Tom Cruise in the “Valkiries”? Well, this project had been for quite a while around, one reason for this languishing being the fact that Tom Cruise wanted to make it in Germany, in certain places, and with the German support. Yet the Germans, for whatever reasons didn’t want to help, so then all the guns in Hollywood came up publicly in Cruise’s support, you know – nazism, etc.
Creeps – yes, we can – sure it’s a blast.

PA Citizen   October 24th, 2009 - 4:05 pm

Good!! Whether you are Jewish, Christian, Scientologist or whateve YOU CHOOSE – the left in this country wants to destroy ALL religions and have you bow to their Communist government!!

Modern Marvels   October 24th, 2009 - 4:05 pm

Firebrain, how do you reconcile your “conservative” anti-abortion views with the fact that female Sea Org members are regularly forced to have abortions.

CJ   October 24th, 2009 - 4:26 pm

My only question is, aside from his sons tragic loss, who would be crazy enough to fly in a jet piloted by Travolta? How do we know he’s not going to try and leave orbit for the planet Zerton or something?

griller   October 24th, 2009 - 4:36 pm

Rexter – next time you have a thought.. – don’t.

Cranky 1   October 24th, 2009 - 4:36 pm

I don’t know what the big deal is. If someone asked the Pope that same question, I doubt he’d walk out of the room. My guess is that he would take the opportunity to educate people about his faith. Christians frequently get asked really unfortunate questions. As a matter of fact, if Scientologists were held to the same scrutiny that Christians are, people would be scratching their heads right now and trying to remember, “What was Scientology?”

If you can’t swim with the big kids then go back to the baby pool.

PA Citizen   October 24th, 2009 - 4:40 pm

Strange religions have been around forever and so have abusive and authoritarian religious leaders. No news there, and there’s no accounting for what people are willing to believe. As long as they don’t do anything illegal and keep to themselves who cares what they do? Even the so called atheists like Harris and Dawkins have some sort of screwy spiritual belief they cling to. Scientology is it for a lot of people.

doogle   October 24th, 2009 - 6:03 pm

Hey, this guy must have taken lessons from MaoBo in mock “offendedness”.

Anytime someone asks a serious question of the Obamameister or one of his Gibbs-like crownies, that they DO NOT want to answer, they get all offended and declare that what YOU are doing is so utterly offensive and just ridiculous, that they won’t even dignify your question with a response. Shame on YOU for being SO unprofessional!

Scientologist   October 24th, 2009 - 6:08 pm

I don’t blame the man for walking out of this interview. The interviewer was quite rude.

Jenandlaw   October 24th, 2009 - 6:11 pm

I don’t get it…. if he doesn’t believe it, why not just say, “Of course we don’t believe that.”

Christy Koren   October 24th, 2009 - 6:58 pm

I am a devout folower of scientologies and this horrible. You people need to grow up and get a life sciences makes its followers money we are rich bozos.

Django   October 24th, 2009 - 7:16 pm

Davis is a liar. And a creep. And the cult he defends is nothing less than organized crime.

The Xenu story is known by nearly anyone with an internet connection. Now that they’ve figured out that they look ridiculous when they try to deny it, they’re doing this “secret sacred text” thing, offensive to even discuss. This also looks ridiculous. The walk-out at the end was priceless, typical Tommy.

Personally, they can believe whatever they want. Who cares? It’s been pointed out that other religions’s beliefs can be just as silly sounding. This is beside the point. The point is: Scientology is a criminal organization, one that utilizes cult and brainwashing techniques to extract money from its adherents, one that cloaks itself in vague religious trappings to excuse:

Vastly underpaying its staff

Child labor abuses

False imprisonment

Stalking and harrassment of its critics and ex-members

While Miscavige’s physical abuse of his staff (and the culture of violence it spawns) is completely wrong and should be investigated and prosecuted, it is merely the tip of the iceberg with this bunch. I urge anyone with an interest in human rights to get informed about this monstrous cult.

James K   October 24th, 2009 - 7:17 pm

It’s because it’s true, obviously. They have some weird, Masononic, secret, occult thing going on and don’t want society to make fun of them.

Other wise he would have answered “no” or “no, that’s riduculuous” and moved on.

The interviewer didn’t seem rude in this clip. Maybe elsewhere, but not here.

pitchfork   October 24th, 2009 - 7:54 pm

“Scientology, Cult of Greed and Power” — time mag cover.

Scientology is a dangerous cult that operates ecclesiastical gulags here in California. They need to be investigated big time.

“Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to
make a million dolars, the best way would be to start his own religion.”
[Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, 1949, then just a science
fiction writer. Quoted in the New York Times, July 11, 1984,
from James A. Haught, ed., 2000 Years of Disbelief]

yanquidawg   October 24th, 2009 - 9:08 pm

Does anyone remember when there were people who would help families “deprogram” their kids and relatives? The scientologists sued them out of business, and took them over. People calling the help line, were completely unaware they were calling a number now controlled by the “Church”. They also were good at leving rattlesnakes in the mailboxes of some of their members who left and were trying to expose the cult. Real nasty bunch.

lavoce   October 24th, 2009 - 9:21 pm

No Scientologist, my opinion is: “Much to the chagrin, and despair, of probably all well-intentioned Scientologists, that certainly went awry!”

Both men appeared well-groomed, appropriately dressed, and ready to engage in conversation on the pre-selected topics – obviously or they would not have been there. Right? Of course, right.

The room appears pleasant, peaceful, well-appointed, and there were no noticeable interruptions.

So what went wrong?

My perception has been that when a One-on-One interview is pre-scheduled by any of the media, the Interviewer goes over the questions with the Interviewee, PRIOR to the time the event is to be captured on camera.

If that’s so, then these two gentlemen undoubtedly “did that dance” before this filming, and the Scientologist had already laid the groundwork – and “set the boundaries for this conversation” – by saying something closely akin to: “Hey! These things are offensive to me so I refuse to try to attempt to carry on an intelligent conversation with you, if you choose to bring this absurdity up.”

As calm, and polite, as both were, the Interviewer tried to find another way around the point, and when he began to bring it up, again, the Scientologist quite firmly, but politely, reminded him – with a caution: “If you do… I’m going to stand up, and walk out.”

You could almost “see the wheels turning,” in the brain of the Interviewer, as he quickly modified his approach. Although he heard the Scientologist’s warning, he came around the horn, again, in an attempt to ferret out a definitive answer as to whether the Scientologist believed what L Ron Hubbard postulated concerning whatever that alien thought was.

The Scientologist stood up, took off his mic, and walked out.

One thing’s for certain: The Scientologist showed himself to be a man; a man who keeps his word. He did just as he said he would do.

And THAT, is more than can be said for Barry Soetoro aka/alias Barack Hussein Obama – who is the only reason I keep throwin my two-cents in!

Just my opinion… of course.

WasabiPeas   October 24th, 2009 - 9:39 pm

The Scientologist can neither confirm nor deny the Xenu question as a matter of religious practice. It is against the Scientology rules to do so. The interviewer knows this. Of course, the reason it is verboten is because the church makes money selling that secret to the upper echelon dupes.

Max   October 24th, 2009 - 10:15 pm

Looks like they need a new spokesman, if he can’t take/deflect questions.
If these people have the money they claim, they could hire politicians(I hear a few will be out of work soon).

el polacko   October 25th, 2009 - 12:07 am

scientology’s beliefs are no more bizarre than any other religion’s. it’s all a bunch of magical bull. what does seem odd is that they won’t discuss their beliefs but that’s because they charge to learn their ’secrets’ and have always fought anyone who attempts to give away the info for free. sounds weird, but is it really that much different than tithing ten percent of one’s income to a christian church ? all the religions expect you to pay your way to ‘enlightenment’, ‘clearness’, ‘nirvana’, ‘heaven’, or whatever you want to call it.. and the sheep line up to be shorn.

Aussie   October 25th, 2009 - 1:00 am

For $100 I will tell you Elron’s most secret mantra.

ransomnote   October 25th, 2009 - 2:16 am

I’ve done alot of reading over at websites like operationclambake.com. According to former members of the cult, you have to pay quite alot of money to climb the rungs of the spiritual ladder in the Scientology cult. Therefore, many who volunteer for the organization or work like indentured servants for the organization, have not reached the OTC levels (rank) of a person allowed to know this secret – they have never heard of it and would likely flee at this point if they did. Only the so called elites are allowed in on this secret. Part of the secrecy is money – you have to spend big bucks and invest in the organization long term to get the status to know the secrets. The other part is that one must truly be hooked into the cult before they dare tell you the secret because an ordinary person would leave in disgust.

Christopher Nelson   October 25th, 2009 - 2:23 am

So that’s how a REAL NEWS NETWORK does it, huh?

Anita Dunn must be peeing her soiled undies at the fabulous work of such a great NEWS NETWORK. Who gives a crap what this cult does? While the Kenyan in Office is obligating our money to Muslim technology, we wouldn’t want the Sand Rats to blow up children in yesterday’s Suicide Vest now do we? But go after these folks who are harmless, want to earn your Bacon go after the A$$holes in Obama’s church of the Anti-White/Jew. Go do an expose on the wealth of Jerry G-D- America Wright and his Chicago styled hate religion. There’s a job for you at ABC (Anything Barack Condones) Network.

Am going back to my NON-NEWS NETWORK to hear about the silent revolution taking place right under our noses.

It’s well known that L. Ron invented a college to give himself a PHD this was done as a joke as was sciencetology. This just goes to show you how dumb and gullable some people are, especially actors. HAHA John T. is a moron

David   October 25th, 2009 - 10:14 am

He was very clever in his answer, to the masses it will sound as if he is saying the question is insulting to him and a ridiculous question, BUT ………… he is right ….. to him it is insulting he “KNOWS” the volcano story is true, he believes it deeply, It would be as insulting as asking the popo if he loved Jesus.

These people need to be stopped, but then again this is America ,………….

Milli   October 25th, 2009 - 10:25 am

L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer. That’s enough said. However, when I met my husband he was a part of this farce religion but is no longer, if you can call it a religion. Scientologist are relentless leaches. Once they have your phone number you can expect at least five calls a day. Only after I called them the “Church of Science Fiction” did the calls finally stop, after about two months. They will invade every aspect of your life: how much money do you have?, are you selling any property and how much do you plan on giving “us”? and on and on and on. Whatever you do, don’t even visit their website. They are a cult, and I could tell you much more, but space and time doesn’t permit. One last thought: They do not believe in lie detectors, rather they have their on “E Meter”, the SAME thing as a polygraph testing machine. Go figure!

Verie   October 25th, 2009 - 10:38 am

Scientology IS a religion. There is NO QUESTION about that. This attempt to constantly attack and deride scientology is an attempt by both mainstream religious people and a mix of socialists and atheists to outlaw new religions.

No one should support what other organized religions are doing here to Scientology, a new faith.

Scientology is NO DIFFERENT from Christianity.

Jon   October 25th, 2009 - 10:41 am

You know whats also crazy…

a virgin birth, walking on water, water to wine, rise from the dead, etc…

just saying

David Miscavige   October 25th, 2009 - 10:44 am

The scientology scam of paying more and more the further you advance in the “church” won’t work if people know what they will eventually have to pay for. Scientologists are indoctrinated first to believe anything the “church” says so they swallow the story of space alien Xenu when they reach level OTIII (Operating Thetan 3).

Anonyklauss   October 25th, 2009 - 10:50 am

You people comparing Scientology to real religions should educate yourself about this dangerous cult that is taking advantage of your religious beliefs to get you to defend them.

Scientology makes you PAY to learn their beliefs like a business. If you leave, the “church” might BLACKMAIL you with your secret confessions. Scientologists have been caught infiltrating the US government with hundreds of spies and burglaries. Scientologists take a TAX DEDUCTION for religious training costs NO RELIGION GETS. It is not like religions, because it’s NOT A RELIGION.

Nonapologist   October 25th, 2009 - 11:18 am

Most anti-scientology protesters could care less about scientology’s wacky beliefs. Although, it is revealing that they do not want to talk about them.

What is most concerning about scientology is the human rights abuses, such as disconnection of families, slave labor, and medical neglect of the Sea Org. Dishonesty is at the core of scientology’s many front groups: Narconon, ABLE, WISE, Applied Scholastics, etc.

Vulnerable individuals get sucked in and drained of every last dollar they have.

Get informed, people. Scientology is not just another wacky cult. It is dangerous.

Wolfbang   October 25th, 2009 - 11:18 am

Tommy Davis, cult spokesliar, doesn’t want to talk about Xenu, because Scientology is Xenu. That is, it is a farce, a fabrication out of the twisted but fertile mind of L. Ron Hubbard. It started out as a distortion of classic psychotherapy, heavy on the hypnosis/Satanic element, but evolved into space opera, for religious cloaking. (To avoid conflict with the medical community and gain tax exempt religious status.)

And yes, there is no doubt Travolta and Cruise both believe that the evil galactic overlord Xenu, blasted alien souls onto Teegeeack (earth) over 75 million years ago, out of volcanoes, and they are busily involved in paying up the “bridge to total” freedom, trying to exorcise the sticky clusters of dead space alien souls they call Body Thetans, off their bodies.

Most religions are open to symbolic meaning. Hubbard hypnotized his dupes, to take this outrageous crap literally. In auditing, Sciloons are sometimes taken back to past lives billions or trillions of years ago. This process goes on endlessly. The celebrities are squeezed for donations. Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart Simpson, donated 10 million dollars in one lump, several years ago. Nancy wants to make sure that Xenu will be kept in his magnetic prison forever, and that Sciloontology will “clear” the planet and then get the Space Org built, to clear the Universe, as per Hubbard’s mandate.

David Tomkins   October 25th, 2009 - 11:26 am

The handwriting is on the wall for public Scientologists, particularly those on the Right like Greta Van Susteren at Fox News and Allen Barton at Pajamas Media TV. The media are publishing more and more revelations about serious human rights abuses by David Miscavige and his regime, particularly in the Sea Org, its elite “religious order” that runs everything in Scientology and its front groups like Applied Scholastics, CCHR (Citizens Commission on Human Rights – their anti-psychiatry group), and Narconon.

We have had major reporting in a ten-part investigation by Nathan Baca at ABC-affiliate KESQ in Palm Springs on abuses at Miscavige’s international Gold Base headquarters near Hemet, CA. The St.Petersburg Times recently ran a three-part The Truth Rundown series in which the highest-ranking Scientology executives ever to defect give their accounts on video of David Miscavige frequently committing assault and battery on his execs without the slight remorse or compassion for human dignity.

Scientology has thoroughly infiltrated the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) and is a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council. They use these organizations to 1. push anti-psychiatry legislation and 2. get state and municipal-level elected officials to install Narconon in drug rehab programs and Hubbard’s “study technology” in schools via Applied Scholastics. Bruce Wiseman, US President of CCHR, is the Treasurer of NFWL.

Public Scientologists need to stand up, denounce Miscavige’s abuses, and reform the Church or leave.

So Greta and Allen, your pro-life viewers want to know what are you doing to end coerced abortions in your church.

Seems Mr Tommy Davis is trying to make it so that asking questions about the religious beliefs of scientology is considered a hate crime; a major coup for the cult that would land many people in serious trouble with the law.

Tommy Davis wants to portray them as persecuted when in fact all he is doing is showing them for the paranoid secretive cult they are.

Wolfbang   October 25th, 2009 - 11:34 am

Actor Jason Beghe spent over one million on Sciloontology, and then came out to denounce it as fraud. Directory screenwriter Paul Haggis, came out very recently and hopefully we’ll hear more from him soon.

Courses and auditing at the Scientology Celebrity Center tend to be much more pricey. I believe auditing is done at $1000/hour. That’s where you get to tell all your secrets, including the crimes you committed on other planets trillions of years ago, and then worry that the person who audited you will write a book about what you said.

Tommy Davis, current spokesliar for Sciloontology, is a spoiled Hollywood trustfund brat, son of Anne Archer.

One might ask, what does Scientology offer? Well, it makes insecure people more confident, and egotistical people like many celebrities, believe they have “super powers” and are the ONLY ones who can save the planet. It plays into a combination of both…people who are vulnerable, not quite sure they deserve the status and fame they’ve reached, yet feel it must be a sign, that they are selected to rule the world, with Sciloontology.

Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and the current leader of Sciloontology, David Miscavige, are all high school dropouts. Naturally, we should look to them, and a college dropout like Hubbard, for all the answers to the Universe, right?

SCNISCULT   October 25th, 2009 - 12:08 pm

What kind of religion has its own internal prison system like cult of scientology has. Their RPF or Rehabilatation Project Force is where people are locked up away from their family and used for manual labor for years. People from other countries can be held there indefinitely because the cult keeps their passports.

Anyone really want to defend that as a “belief” that cannot be criticized?

NOTHING TO DO WITH BELIEFS. THIS IS AN ABUSIVE CULT PREYING ON VULNERABLE PEOPLE.

“Verie October 25th, 2009 – 10:38 am
Scientology IS a religion. There is NO QUESTION about that. This attempt to constantly attack and deride scientology is an attempt by both mainstream religious people and a mix of socialists and atheists to outlaw new religions.

No one should support what other organized religions are doing here to Scientology, a new faith.

Scientology is NO DIFFERENT from Christianity.”

It’s funny to me that this guy and many other PRO Scientology people on here seem to talk about “Rudeness” or “Religious Respect” but NONE OF THEM ARE WILLING TO CONFIRM OR DENY THE QUESTION POSED BY THE INTERVIEWER – LOL!

And for Verie – listen you cultist hack – don’t compare a religion started by a child molester to Christianity……We would answer questions posed to us in an interview.

Don’t believe me? Let’s ask Christians posting here if we believe in…..oh let’s say something like…..was Christ crucified on a cross and then arose from the dead later?

I’ll start – “Yes and Yes”

See Scientologists? Question + answer = TRUE FAITH

For “the most ethical people on the planet” these Scientology followers sure get accused of a lot of horrible stuff. These Scientologist want to run the planet, and they can’t even keep their own people under control. Maybe if they stop destroying lives and families, the rest of the world would leave scientology alone. But I guess its kind of hard to take over a planet, against its will, without upsetting someone. HAIL XENU

How this could devolve into a political thing is beyond me.
Most scientologist’s cars that I have seen with bumper stickers have Ron Paul on them if anything.
But they will give money to whomever they think will help them. In Riverside County, Ca…it is Republicans…because Republicans are in power. In some Democratic County, it would be the same.
The cult will use whomever they think will help them. In their utopian future, THEY will be in charge and won’t need any help.
But this is a money making scam that hurts people. And I think we can all agree that Tommy Davis is a terrible spokesman. Mike Rinder, their former spokesman was a much more convincing liar and able to steer conversations. But he left the cult. Great info is at http://www.truthrundown.org

A priest will teach you about Jesus, free of charge. A rabbi will teach you about the Torah, free of charge. A muslim Imam will teach you about the Quran, free of charge. The “Church” of Scientology preys on unhappy people by promising them true happiness, then charges them extensively. I am tolerant of all religions, but you are an idiot if you are a Scientologist. Most people consider it a cult rather than a legitimate religion.

Mark   October 25th, 2009 - 7:20 pm

Rich Hollywood types use the cult to hold on to more of their money. They donate it to the Chuch, write it off on their taxes and then it is returned to them. Pretty good scam if you ask me! Oh, yeah Babies! Wait till the pendulum swings back! And it will! Only problem is, it will swing WAAAYYY to the Right. The whacked out radical Right is gonna make all you Leftists pay…..Big time! Is it really worth it? I don’t think so.

Russ   October 25th, 2009 - 11:51 pm

How any otherwise intellegent person can come to believe that this Scientology blathering is the truth is beyond my comprehension. Yeah, there are other so called religions that are just as full of recently invented sayings and beliefs that people ought to be wary of and if the promoters of said alleged religions claim that they have all these wonderful secrets that you might come to know, but for a price, run like hell away and get as far away as fast as you can. You are being targeted as a recipiant of a scam and your money is a very large part of it.

Isn’t intergalactic emperor Xenu imprisoned for all time behind a forcefield with an eternal power source. When he brought his people here in DC8s to be placed around the edge of the volcano before he nuked them,he scared the scientologists. Stop believing in Xenu he is trapped forever, nobody is coming to help you,the scientologists will continue to thwart your efforts to free Xenu. Give up,the scientologists are too strong,Xenu will remain trapped because L. Ron Hubbard wants it that way.

lavoce   November 3rd, 2009 - 5:06 pm

I’ve met a few Scientologists but none have ever bothered to engage in conversation about what they believe much less attempt to persuade me to their way of thinking or belief. They’ve all been pleasant, dress nicely but not flamboyantly, and I can’t recall any gossiping about anyone else.

I have asked about the practice of auditing, and received no information apart from an elderly woman who demonstrated how Scientologists went to offer an “assist” to people after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, and the tsunami rolled over in Thailand. If they were waiting for medical help, or not, it was a way for the person to get in touch with their own spirit. It was a simple, non-invasive, kind, gentle touch of the flat palm of the hand to the extremities, while asking (Scientologist):”Can you feel this?” (Recipient):”Yes.” (Sci…):”Thank you. Can you feel this?” (Recip…)”Yes.” (Sci…): “Thank you. Can you feel this?”

This elderly woman worked from my toes to my head in the demonstration, and not once invaded my privacy or overstepped the bounds. Now, was she a professing Scientologist? Yes. Did she demonstrate what she had been told or what she had actually experienced? That I cannot say. I simply thanked her for the demonstration, and left it at that.

In the past, I have had a couple of female Scientologists ask me pretty detailed questions about my life, and business, which I considered none of their business. I was able to simply step around the issues graciously without causing offense.

When I hear of physical abuse at high levels by this David, I consider that more than a grave cause for concern as to the true intent of the mission of Scientology – especially if the exhibited behavior has been witnessed, is well-known among those who’ve achieved access to the upper echelons, and if it is not being addressed out of fear of someone, fear for someone, or fear of some long-term form of retaliation for one or more individuals. That must be addressed.

As for signing away their future lives, how would they ever know they were here before?

If there is any TRUTH in Reincarnation, why would GOD – THE ONLY LIVING GOD – have sent His ONLY SON? Why would THE LIVING WORD have become flesh, and dwelt among mankind, to live, suffer, and die at the hands of men for the sins of all mankind – including those of us living 2,000 years hence? That makes no sense at all.

No thanks. Give me my Bible, both Old and New Testaments, and that “old-fashioned religion” wherein lies TRUTH that will set men free, LIFE more abundant and free, and AN ETERNITY WITH THE CREATOR OF ALL THE UNIVERSES, AND ALL THAT THEREIN IS… MY CREATOR, and THE LOVER OF MY SOUL.

David Miscavige   December 3rd, 2009 - 1:47 pm

You can’t trust Scientologists. They are sworn to secrecy and trained to lie about what they really believe in. They even lie to each other, which is why you can find so many Scientologists who swear the space alien Xenu story is not true. Scientologists who reach level “OT3″ know about Xenu, but lie about it.
