I am sure what the situation is like in USA, but in Canada, at my bank, I can only use my banks ATM machine for 5 transactions a week, every transaction over the limit, my bank will charge me $2.00. And if I use other banks ATM machine to take out money, charges will be from $1.00 to $3.50 depending which bank's ATM I am using.

I do miss my bank teller, we used to have some good chat while she was servicing me. Miss the good old day.

I love how a woman signing the petition says that ATM's are not 'eco-friendly'. Too funny.

By automating certain tasks in productive or trade environments fewer people can put out substantially more or less costly work to achieve the same or greater benefit.
I give up, I fail to see where anything went wrong. Everyone benefits from the efficiency that automation brings to the table.
Unless of course you are the employee whose only talents can and have been automated. Damn! that's worse than being the guy with the job a monkey could do.

Parking meters are the devils invention…Way worse than an ATM…If you get a ticket for violation, you have to pay..And you may have to take time off from work to go and do it, sometimes your car is towed away, now there's a real money saver…In some area's and at night, they are virtually worthless, they just sit there doing nothing…If they make no money, they were a useless expenditure to begin with…and look at all the human suffering caused by parking meters, headaches, anxiety, frustration, anger…Parking meters are taking their toll on humanity both financially and mentally, and should be banned…

I think the problem isn't the ATM machines, I think the problem is the banks. ATM machines in NYS were allowed because Banks didn't want to build more branches. In other words, the banks saved billions. It is a sure sign of their management incompetence that they have to charge a fee at ATM's.

Not that shouldn't bee free to charge a fee. They should. Wonder why there is so little competition in ATM fees?

What "O" thinks ATM's load their money or print it inside the machine someone loads it. The bank where I worked a teller did it now armored cars people do it in some places. Some one does maintenance they do break plus load paper for receipts . The list goes on .

Since we have two competing governments we should have two bank accounts completely separate so whatever party/ government is elected they operate on their own economic model. If, like in monopoly, you have to sell off assets to stay solvent then the better model should eventually rise to serve the public.
