Can you force a quorum be present before you begin reading, and make sure a quorum is present during the entire time you read the bill/amendment?

Why would it be “Obstruction” to read a bill. This has got to be the first one anyone is bothering to read since Obama got elected. Obviously, they didn’t bother to look at the fine print on any other bill.

I heard today that the parliamentarian in the senate (the rule enforcer, i suppose) allowed the withdraw of the bill when, in fact, that goes against the senates OWN RULES. As i understood it, once a bill (or amendment) is started to be read, it can ONLY be withdrawn buy a vote of unanimous consent (which of course did not happen). this idiots have NO IDEA what they are up against from a parliamentary standpoint. this is gonna be fun to watch……

I like that fact that not only that it’s free, but they deliver all of my letters the same day Free. This website is by far the best website to use when writing your politicians. I actually just got some response letters from letters I sent 4 weeks ago.

A Republican should propose Sanders identical amendment as his own. Then, a second Republican should demand that it be read aloud. There will be screaming from the Dems that they object, but “regular order” requires that it be read. As it is read, everyone (Republicans) can laugh and deride what was formerly Sanders’s amendment, if only to show the American people what he was trying to hide. Then, just as the last sentence is read, the Republican proposing the amendment withdraws it to ensure that it never can become incorporated into the bill.

Beat these stupid liberals at their own game, and use the procedural rules at every turn.
