On the eve of the biggest primary in the Republican nomination process to date, Mitt Romney responds to the latest round of attacks by Newt Gingrich in Florida.

Shaping up like an Obama win. Better start stocking your survival shelters.

Pedrosito48   January 31st, 2012 - 1:02 am

I just wish Romney and Gingrich would focus on the real problem with our country. Obam,Obama Obama.

snailmailtrucker   January 31st, 2012 - 1:05 am

Sorry Mitt….I'll vote for you if I have to, but too many of the media and too many RINO's want you to be the nominee and that bothers me …..A LOT !

snailmailtrucker   January 31st, 2012 - 1:09 am

Stop believing the Main Stream Media !

antilibterds   January 31st, 2012 - 1:14 am

I have faith that even a furry little Mitten can whoop the lanky uncoordinated mom jean wearing Barack.

Narcissist Extremist   January 31st, 2012 - 1:18 am

Keep the MSM out of this. My opinions are formed from God's teachings, and logical reasoning, and 65 years of life's experiences, and Rush's daily classes of conservative studies.

Aaron11   January 31st, 2012 - 1:19 am

Newt Gingrich certainly cant run on his awful scandal ridden, unethical record. So his strategy is to try to make his opponents look worse. But informed and reasonable people aren't buying it. I mean, my God… A MOON BASE!!!???

Newt Gingrich will tell you whatever you want to hear. He will literally promise the moon to get elected!

Narcissist Extremist   January 31st, 2012 - 1:21 am

When the Republican establishment prepares to snuff out Alan West's political career, you know Satan has won.

M-I-DOUBLE TIZZLE   January 31st, 2012 - 1:26 am

Tonight the Double Tizzle is going to give the Newt a pride obliterating b1tch slap.

OldmanRick   January 31st, 2012 - 1:32 am

The toddler is the problem. Focus on the brat's failures, ineptitude, divisiveness, and favoritism to his "friends".

USSBuford   January 31st, 2012 - 1:42 am

Mitt's right. It's painful watching Newt melt down. I cringe to think so many who post here could assert so adamantly that Gingrich is the man to beat Obama. Florida is a key battleground state. It ain't been pretty but Romney has destroyed him here, just as Obama would. More significantly, Mitt's finally demonstrated the gut fighter capability and the killer instinct he's going to need to take down the billion dollar democrat attack machine assault on the GOP challenge.

M-I-DOUBLE TIZZLE   January 31st, 2012 - 1:50 am

When's the next debate?

JamestheFin   January 31st, 2012 - 2:03 am

Yep, the Republican Establishment is going to own Romney's loss to Obama. This is all on the Republican establishment. Pat Cadell is correct, the Republicans are the 'Stupid Party'. In taking down Gingrich as they did, and pushing Romney as their 'boy', as they did they have managed to kill off the passion and enthusiasm of the Tea Party. The same Tea Party that saved their a$$es in 2010 after the Republicans were clearly headed to oblivion after 2006 & 2008. Hard to get excited about a RINO-Squish like Romney in the White House along with John Boehner and Mitch McConnell in Congress. No way ObamaCare gets repealed with those three.

I'm so disenchanted with the Republican party, and disgusted with Romney and RomneyCare, his sleazy attacks on Newt, I'll only vote for conservatives and Tea Party members in local elections and for Congress. Romney & the Republican Establishment have lost me for good.

USSBuford   January 31st, 2012 - 2:27 am

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. The voters in Florida can't think for themselves. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Everybody but me is stupid. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Everybody but me is a sellout

NotOfTheMob   January 31st, 2012 - 2:42 am

The candidate who keeps repeating that he's the Conservative alternative to the Massachusetts moderate, just proposed a giant socialist moondoggle.

How much more evidence do Republican primary voters need to see that Gingrich is, in fact, LESS conservative on the all-important economic issues than Romney?.

The only true hard core Conservative in the race was Michele Bachmann.
What remains are two Moderate-Conservatives. One likely to win and the other likely to give the Left a massive victory.

keeemosabe   January 31st, 2012 - 3:04 am

Y'all will vote for Mitsy, as you are told. All the T-Potty huff and puff…..'tis only FLUFF.

DocHoliday916   January 31st, 2012 - 3:15 am

Unfortunately, Newt has taken the Romney bait. When Newt is Newt, he tells what he's and contrasting that to his opponent. Newt went negative and so Mittens has knocked Newt off his game. Newt should have known better. I may vote for Romney but i will not campaign for him nor allow a yard sign in my yard. Romney is a RINO and part of the establishment Rockefeller Republicans THAT ARE THE PROBLEM. I don't see Romney winning the general election and if he loses, it's the end of the Republican Party, the Conservatives are jumping ship.

Dagney77   January 31st, 2012 - 3:26 am

Democrats are supporting Newt because they know if he's nominated he will take the whole Republican party down. You lemmings who are supporting Newt are what Lenin call "useful idiots." Newt can't win, guys. He's creepy and repulsive.

EffinOutraged   January 31st, 2012 - 3:32 am

My seething hatred for BO is closely matched by my dislike of MR and republican establishment tactics. To quote Thomas Sowell today, "Character assassination is just another form of voter fraud." To jump from one 'looser' to another is distasteful to me and MR's character assassination machine reduces our freedom of choice. This entire election is about freedom.

The last time I felt this way I voted for Perot, and often regretted it. But part of me was proud for making a stand against things I didn't like. I may do it again. Somebody's got to be the adult in the room, and it sure isn't the republican establishment. I feel that the two parties do not represent me. I'm guess I'm libertarian at heart. I must vote that way now, and to hell with the consequences.

I wouldn't be concerned about a Michelle Obama presidency in 2016, probably Elizabeth Warren will win that one.

Dagney77   January 31st, 2012 - 4:19 am

Newt will lose the women's vote on a massive scale because he's so repugnant in his behavior and appearance. The libs are hoping we won't notice until it's too late. If we nominate Newt we will be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

boyinboycott   January 31st, 2012 - 4:24 am

WHEN do you dullards figure out lLmbaugh MAKES MORE MONEY when he can rant against Democrats in OFFICE. Rush GAVE the Democrats the US Senate in 2006 when he shook and gyrated to mock Micheal J. Fox's Parkinson's Disease, which elected Claire McCaskill, (Democrats hadn't dreamed we'd get BOTH Houses of Congress.)
Limbaugh ensured 99% of African Americans supported Obama when he SPIT on Colin Powell saying he ONLY supported Obama because of the color of his skin.

PushHereToFlush   January 31st, 2012 - 5:35 am

Negative works. Romney planned to be negative from the get go. Newt had no choice but to go negative if he wanted to remain competitive. Romney knew Newt had more personal baggage to attack and it helped keep debates and ads off the issues.

I have no doubt Romney has been passed the torch of establishment Republicanism. I do so hope the Tea Party and other conservatives can extinguish that torch's flame this election, this primary.

FIRST thing Florida…..IGNORE the polls. These same whoremasters had Romney beating Newt in South Carolina, and what happened? That's right, Newt swept the floor with Romney's face.

In your hearts, you know that Romney is a RINO, and that Newt is the real deal.

Ask yourselves why is it that the elitist media are going so light handed on Romney? It's because they know Romney is McCain warmed over, and will be much easier to beat in the general election.

The elitists also know that Newt is the biggest threat to "big government", and that obuffoona doesn't stand a chance in a debate with him.

VOTE Newt….Like your children's lives depend on it!

Narcissist Extremist   January 31st, 2012 - 7:09 am

Is it possible to have a Republican majority in the House AND Senate while Obama gets re-elected? That's the only positive I can see coming out of a Romneycare vs. Obamacare election this fall.

ryanjh   January 31st, 2012 - 7:41 am

Whoever the nominee is they better not act like McCain did and refuse to attack Obama.

kbs55   January 31st, 2012 - 7:42 am

Being negative about your opponent does not tell me what you are for.
Conservatism works every time it is tried.
Ignorance is the most expensive commodity we have.
You never have victory defending something.
Using these principles now tell me what you are for and how do you plan to implement them?

Duckwalker   January 31st, 2012 - 7:43 am

Good. Glad to hear this as he should respond to all the attacks. I want to know from all the candidates what they have to say about the attacks against. This is minor compared to the general election. Obama has enough in his war chest to fund a small economy. Who do you think the media will play nice with? The Republican nominee must be well vetted and well prepared. I say bring on the attacks, I want to flush them all out.

ryanjh   January 31st, 2012 - 7:43 am

Democrats are always good at dirty tricks.

ryanjh   January 31st, 2012 - 7:45 am

Exactly! The nominee must have skin of stone and be able to take the fight to Obama unlike McLame who sat back and refused to attack Obama….still pisses me off.

1. I will always vote for Newt over Romney
2. Moon Base Newt is just as "big government" as any RINO. Newt's answer to all our problems is government: Ethanol subsidies, moon bases, Cap & Trade, Individual Mandates, TARP, Medicare, etc…

Rush has been saying the same thing, and I agree. I'm sick to death of this back and forth between Romney and Gingrich. The media has been baiting them into this cat-fight, and they both have taken the bait, hook, line and sinker.

I've lost respect for both men because of all this. I've decided to go Santorum all the way.

ryanjh   January 31st, 2012 - 8:01 am

Newt referred to himself as a 'Rockefeller Republican" watch for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJQsLFhuyOY

samwise007   January 31st, 2012 - 8:06 am

You've just been reported.

I'm aware of the attempts by people like you to link Santorum's name to deviant sexual behavior. If this is a pornographic link, action will be taken against you. If this link involves children in any way (as the name implies), then legal action could be taken against you.

drattastic   January 31st, 2012 - 8:15 am

I guess 2016 is the next time you libs MAY have a shot at the White House. Cause OBOZO is going down hard, its landslide time . Count on it.

drattastic   January 31st, 2012 - 8:17 am

You might want to consider it yourselves ,is Ralph Nader in the house ?

Duckwalker   January 31st, 2012 - 8:20 am

Me too, it really ticked me off. I hope the GOP nominee this time around will fight back the smears. I like the attacks going on between the candidates, it makes for a good, healthy debate now and helps prepare for the ones to follow later. Obama and his state run media will attempt to destroy their opponent, we need someone who can give as good as they will get.

drattastic   January 31st, 2012 - 8:23 am

LOL You really live in a fantasy world don't you ? Prepare yourself it is the beginning of the end of your socialist utopia ,people have a taste of it now and it taste like sh!t. BTW your closet awaits but alas you've exposed yourself .

EBL   January 31st, 2012 - 8:39 am

Meanwhile we have George Soros is saying no difference between Obama and Romney. Maybe Creepy Dude is stirring up trouble, but there are serious doubts about this with the conservative base. All the more reason for this process to continue to the convention. Santorum needs to stay in. The only way to have this open is for Gingrich, Santorum and Paul to take enough delegates so it has to go to the convention. Claiming Romney won now and not letting this process vet out would be a big mistake by the GOP establishment.

LibertyWriter   January 31st, 2012 - 8:48 am

Romney and cohorts told us when he was winning in South Carolina that the state ALWAYS chose the nominee. Romney wasn't it. Now we are told if he wins Florida, it is over. The media and the establishment just can't seem to get it right. Flip flopping Romney? How about flip flopping media, flip flipping Rinos?

LibertyWriter   January 31st, 2012 - 8:49 am

All that practice, and Obama still can't swing a golf club. Just shows you that he is too stuck on himself to hire a good swing coach.
