None of us were in that courtroom. None of us heard any evidence. The cop was innocent until proven guilty. The state did not carry its burden to convince the jury beyond a resonable doubt that the cop was gulity of a 2nd degree murder charge. 2nd degree murder means you intended to kill. The cop swore that he thought he drew his taser. A reasonable jury could have easily found that the cop was indeed responsible for Grant's death, but did not intend to kill. Consider this….the jury may have been looking to aquit him, but found him guilty of the involuntary man charge to try and prevent exactly what happened here.
That jury could have convicted him of 2nd degree and there probably still would have been riots because it was not 1st degree. There was no way any verdict in this case was going to be satisfactory to certian community groups in Oakland.

Here is something to ponder: The fundamental flaw of social justice is "free will" Because of free will one man may continue to make bad decisions which require him to be bailed out by his neighbors/city/state tax dollars. So under a planned society with ample amounts of social justice, free will, the ability to make decisions for yourself must be taken away.
You want a society that gives a lifestyle to those unable to exhibit positive personality traits such as hard work, determination, self control and discipline. You want a free home for those who can not afford it, free nice cars for those unable to afford it(beemers and benzes), free vacations to exotic locales, free designer clothing and free free free everything else. You want the taxpayers to provide all of these things.
