Raw: Drunk Man Rescued After Falling on Tracks in Front of Speeding Train

KSAZ: Police say the man who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol fell off the light rail platform near Central Avenue and Thomas Road on Tuesday night and onto the tracks. Seeing the man was in danger, the two police assistants rushed to his aid and also flagged down the train. The train operator stopped the train in time and no one was injured.

Why rescue him? Some people need to die as they put other at risk. I have no sympathy for bungee cord jumpers, mountain climber and surfers who succumb to tragedy.

Wow, what a difference in responses to the incident in Seattle where a young woman was beaten within an inch of her life right in plain view of something like four Security guards who just stood there and watched it happen without so much as a call to police.

Well, was he drunk or was he having an attack of some kind? Haven’t seen an explanation or his name or the identity of the policemen or women who helped him, or what happened to him afterwards… Did they leave him on the platform or take him to an emergency room? …and what’s a police assistant? — a way to not say man or woman??

Why rescue him? Because we could easily do so, because it was an obvious accident, not something the man was doing intentionally. Because we are still a Christian country based on those laws and principles, which have “grown” most people here with a heart of compassion. Some groups of people do not understand what compassion is and would watch, and although they had the ability to help, would not bother to rescue another person from being beaten to death in front of them.

We need a new understanding and commitment with our adventurers – like mountain climbers, bungee cord jumpers, who risk their lives for their own fun, ego, excitement. They should make a Living Will of some kind, video or audio tape or document left with a representative before they take off for their wild adventures. They should acknowledge that their venture may endanger their lives and if that occurs, they refuse to allow another person to endanger their own lives in a rescue attempt. That would put a serious consideration in the mind of the explorer who must make that agreement, and would prevent everybody else from losing their lives because of the adventurer’s folly.

What do you think of that? Kind of demanding that people take personal responsibility for their actions… and if you take risks you are on your own.. not like the bungee cord jumping BANKERS who DEMAND to be rescued and THREATEN that they are TOO IMPORTANT for us not to save them even if we have to hijack our kids’ futures just to save their boney arses. Yes, tie those BANKERS all together on a LONG bungee cord and yell GERANIMO!!! After all, they do like excitement, don’t they?

What is it, one a week now with these “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up in front of the oncoming train” videos?

It’s a good things these two were not hired to “Observe & Report”.

They did an excellent job; unlike the idiot security guards in Seattle.
